This is a lovely old hotel that has maintained much of the charm, comfort and elegance of 50 years ago. Our room was beautifully redecorated but there was no information about services. The bar and restaurant were closed at 11pm on Saturday night, when we arrived. There was tea, coffee and water in the room but the bar fridge was empty. We were tired and hungry and would have loved something better than the Tim Hortons down the street.

We got into our room, there was a beeping sound and called the front desk. Someone came for service and couldn’t figure it out and said they will switch us to another room, no one came to ask us to switch. The room was extremely hot all night as well, the cool air was not coming at all.

I have always enjoyed my stay at the Crowne Plaza North York.
Pros
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Room is clean and comfortable. Restaurant is good.
Cons
Dont use unscented detergents and the air fresheners in the hallways are quite strong.
--Fragrances such as these are a common allergy and should be avoided.--

The hotel seemed quite empty but I was a given beside the elevator and adjoining rooms to a noisy guest which interrupted my sleep. Amenities need upgrading gym, pool room. No robes or slippers in room over all just not a hotel I would recommend. Check-in team was very nice and fantastic though and did provide a late check out

From the check in this was a terrible experience; the parking lot has a bar but no guidance on what to do. There is a line of cars wrapped around the entrance with a long line of people checking in inside while their families wait in this other line of cars.
I can understand if they are busy, but the customer service from the man and woman working on 2/14 around 6pm was absolutely horrendous. I come to Toronto every couple weeks and have stayed at multiple locations across downtown, York, Vaughn, Markham and this is hands down the worst front desk experience I have ever had. They could not be more apathetic to anything going on; none of the normal information or question you would get during check in.. parking explantion, wifi info, number of keys, and general customer service civility. I asked the male worker if they hand laundry bags; he turned into an office and came back with a few and handed them to me all without looking at me like he was distracted by watching the TV at the bar.

Once we got into the room it did not get any better:

The black out curtains were ripped on the top so light flowed in the edges

The shower/bath water came out black in the beginning either from dust in the tub or the pipes themselves

The room was missing an office chair for the desk

The TV didnt work at all. (I called the front desk multiple times for assistance and they did not answer the first few times, but when they did answer they said they would send someone but they never did)

Staff was friendly, room was cleanish slow drain in bathroom sink and spots on duvet cover and sheets. Had an issue with an added name to the reservation. I booked through Expedia and messaged the hotel directly 4 days before my arrival to add a guest on to the reservation and include them in breakfast. While I have documentation of this conversation of course the hotel did not and still charged me for breakfast when it should’ve been included in my rate. Offering your rooms on a 3rd party site for sales but then not offering those paying clients the same level of service as the ones who booked through you directly is absurd. Business is business customer service is customer service and a guest is a guest regardless of how they booked their stay at your establishment.

To long to write. I am currently working with the team at Expedia about the issue. Stay away. They put us in rooms with broken windows and tried to tape it up in - 15. Put us in room tvs not working. Barely any hot water and requests for house keeping ignored. When asking for a copy of my file declined. I was met with we can’t help you you booked through Expedia. And now Expedia not helping me. Due to the sudden passing of a family member, we had to return to the U.S. immediately. The front desk guaranteed a refund for the second night at checkout, yet the hotel never honored it.

Both we and Orbitz made multiple attempts to contact hotel management by phone and email — no response.

As a Platinum member for many years, I have never experienced such a lack of follow-through or basic accountability. Deeply disappointing.

It was convenient due to an event at the hotel. I stayed the day it was taken over by IGH hotels. The lobby, hallway and other shared areas seemed to be more upscale than the actual rooms. They were ok but needed a bit more attention. (Caulking in the bathtub etc) The staff was lovely and helpful. Breakfast was phenomenal.

We spent New Year’s there and were given a room that was spacious and comfortable. Unfortunately, the room was extremely cold, as the heating did not flow properly. While it would have been enjoyable in the summer, during winter the temperature made the stay uncomfortable

Expedia says this is a 4 star hotel, but there is no way. I should have known the price was too good to be true for a 4 star. The lobby looks ok, but our room was dingy, poorly lit, and depressing. I wanted to check out the minute I walked in. The fitted sheet on one bed had holes in it. The carpet seemed dirty. The lamp looked like it was going to fall over.

The Pacific was always a great option for staying in Toronto but it has sharply declined in quality. 3 big problems arose this trip.

1. The water in the bathroom only arrived at 1 temperature, boiling hot. Making showers and getting ready difficult and impossible to drink water. A ticket was issued after the first night of have it fixed and nothing changed.

2. The rooms AC doesn’t work. The loud fan would run constantly but never cool the room down. It was too hot to sleep.

3. Finally there was blood on the shower curtain and the pillows bunched into balls of filling.

Over all this was a terrible experience followed up but a lacklustre response by the duty manger. It’s too bad this used to be such a good hotel option.

Our welcome to the hotel was cold and mechanical. You’d think they be happy to see a client.

There were also issues with noise in the hallway after 9:30 PM. It took 3 calls to the front desk in order to rectify things.

Upon checkout, we were charge for parking (which was included). They fixed the issue.

The bathroom was equipped with one small bar of soap.

It seems like this hotel has gone downhill.

Upon check in I asked about obtaining a copy of the bill and was sent on a goose chase to only realize that the front desk staff had not read the booking properly. The room was satisfactory but there were light bulbs burnt out, the window curtain was falling down and the faucet in the bathtub was very loose. I would stay here again as these are minor items. Hoping the gentleman at the front desk takes the time to review prior to having the customer research an app where the information does not exist.

WE HAD A SLIGHT DELAY IN OUR FLIGHT AND ALL FOOD WAS CLOSED AND THE BAR WAS ONLY SERVING ALCOHOL AND NUTS.... AFTER A LONG FLIGHT SCHLEPPING IN COLD DARK CITY TO GET TO HOTEL LAST THING WE WERE EXPECTING.... POOR SERVICE AND ATTITUDE TO BOOT. THIS WAS AT 8:55 PM BTW

The room was very cold even when we tried to turn up the thermostat. Also, there were 3 Cheetos on the floor between the bed an the wall. We did not have Cheetos so they were there from a previous occupant. We were there 2 nights and the room was cleaned but the Xhertors were still there. There was no shampoo just 2 shower gel. And the ice machine on our floor was broken.
