Hotel is not that easy to get to either by car or transit. Nice location on a park with walking trails but it is not close to downtown. Decor is tired and my balcony door opened but really took a great deal of effort to close so I could lock it at night. Bathroom floor could have been cleaner.

I recently stayed here and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

It would have been appreciated if we were informed at check-in that there was no functioning air conditioning. No one mentioned anything until the next day, when we were told to turn off the unit because it was blowing hot air. We spent the entire first night unable to sleep, as the room felt close to 40°C.

When we went to the front desk, the staff member did not mention any known issue and said maintenance would be sent, but there was no follow-up. Later, another staff member informed us the rooms did not have working AC due to maintenance issues. She was polite and arranged for maintenance.

Maintenance explained the situation, turned off the system, opened the balcony for airflow, and suggested a fan. While helpful, it wasn’t a real solution, and we had another sleepless night due to the heat.

Breakfast was also underwhelming. We arrived after the rush but still waited to be seated, and were only offered drinks at the end due to understaffing.

We couldn’t switch hotels due to meetings we had, but had we known about the AC issue, we would have stayed elsewhere. Communication is key. Overall, very frustrating for the price paid and resulted in some of the worst sleep.

The breakfast was great. They had a buffet breakfast that was responsibly priced at $28. The items were great and plentiful. The hotel restaurant Season's food was great to but the dinner items were quite pricey. You can walk across the street and get some great food. Two great restaurants in walking distance of the hotel that we would recomment would be - 1) Chiang Mai - Thai Dining and 2) Dragon Pearl. Enjoy!

We didn’t partake in the food options, but initially we thought the room was clean. Second night we found a full ant colony on our floor.
There were hundreds of them.
Their remedy at the time which was only verbal from the from desk was that our last night ( which we found the ants) would be free and the previous night would be discounted.
Come check out, neither of that happened.
The front desk stated because this was booked through Expedia they couldn’t do anything but waive the $20/ parking fee. I explained what the night staff had told us, and he was only willing to give me a discount on the last night because we had gotten an upgrade??? To a room with a balcony ?? Me and my daughter left feeling as if our situation was not at all important to the hotel, and that it wasn’t any sort of big deal.
Mind you this all happened at 7-8pm, so it would have been very difficult for us to find another hotel. Of note: our “upgraded room” had mould in the shower.
This was extremely poor communication between staff.
- for verification of the said ant colony, we were able to get two videos showing at length the amount of ants in the room.
In fact the evening staff member asked that I airdrop it to his phone.

Not a great experience which I fedback but the staff member was uninterested.

First room - main lights did not work. Quick change to an alternative room which was great but the second room had something wrong with the fan so it made the bathroom smell awfully of cigarette smoke. I didn't realise until I used the bathroom in the middle of the night so I reported the issue in the morning expecting the reception staff to take details to send maintenance but he was very uninterested and just told me to ensure I asked not to be in that room when I come back after a few days. I'm due to stay there again - hopefully a better experience the second time.

Special mention for the concierge service though who were amazing both on the night of check-in and the morning of checkout - could not fault them and their help.

The staff is fantastic.
The hotel itself however, is old. Damage on the walls and doors is visible. The elevators are quirky, the toilets temperamental and the walls thin. There is no soundproofing between rooms.
The gym needs an overhaul.
I did love the full service restaurant and lounge and there are many dining options in the area.

We recently stayed for one night at the Crowne Plaza and while I would stay there again, there were two things that were not ideal: Our room was at the rear side and we were awakened at about 3:15 am by extremely loud metal banging noises and we realized that it had to have been from some truck picking up one or more dumpster containers. Do youself a favour and book a room at the front of the hotel! Also, the sliding doors to our room were not sealing well and since it was a very windy night there was a constant whistling of air passing through and it also made the room quite chilly. FYI: Our room was #715

As far as checking in and out everything was perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I also found the room key system worked very well--much better than the old cards that often failed and required multiple attempts to unlock the door.

The room was clean and well appointed although the matresses were a bit soft for our liking, but that's a personal thing, and thus it's difficult to please everyone.

We ate dinner at their restaurant and the service was excellent and the food was fine--simple fare, like a burger, fries, salad, Poke Bowl, steak, Club Sandwich, etc.--in other words, something to satisfy most tastes. Having had to leave early the next morning before they opened for breakfast we can't comment on that service; except to say that we understood that it is buffet style.

So as noted, we'd consider staying there again, and we had a decent Expedia rate

The staff on at the time of check-in put me in a room with a joining room. This was Easter Sunday with plenty of availability. I was in transit and really needed a good night’s sleep. My neighbours showed up at 12:30 and had obviously been partying. They were very loud. The doors joining the two units amplified the sound of slamming doors and exuberant conversation. The front desk was responsive, but it was an unnecessary and unfortunate experience leaving me with a headache and poor nights sleep.

Front desk staff totally incompetent. I booked and paid full amount through expedia in Nov. 2025 for end of March 2026 wedding. But the hotel staff first could not find my booking. Then just gave us 1 room. Then charged me for almost $700 as deposit and told me it would not really charge me just hold it. And today I found it was posted on my credit card statement. The hotel was very unorganized with hocky kids running around wild and play floor hockey along the hallway at 2am. The kids banged our door twice past midnight. Could not sleep at all. Definitely not going back. Really disappointed for the poor service.

Unfortunately, I was placed on a floor occupied by a large group of hockey players, ranging in age from approximately 5 to 17. Throughout my stay, there was constant noise, including children playing hockey in the hallways at all hours of the night and early morning. The level of disruption made it extremely difficult to rest or enjoy my time. They offered to put me in another room, but there weren’t any other rooms available 😩

Breakfast was good. Stuff was very helpful and extremely friendly. Room was big but carpet was not that clean. Bed very comfortable. Overall I enjoyed my stay. One thing that really bothered me it was hockey players and there partners having late party . Some of parents were drinking beer right next to our door passed 11 pm and i mean we had to make one of them move away for us to get to our room. Kids were playing hockey right in front of elevator after 10 pm. And very noisy older gang came to the room after mid night screaming till 1:30 am. But it’s not hotel but people who have no good behaviour.

The staff was nice and the service was good they brought us extra toiletries and towels without us asking because they saw how many of us were there, just the condition of the property itself does not warrant it a 4 star hotel. We found ants in our room, the ice machine was not working on our floor it was only working on 2 floors in the entire building, the elevator on one side was stuck didn't bother trying to use it for the time that we were there. The lobby looks like 4 stars but the room could've been more improved.

This is my 4th time staying at this place. This is my favourite place to stay in Toronto. The rooms are spotless, and I really like the private parking. The bar and restaurant are both excellent. The staff are warm, friendly, and always go the extra mile to make sure you’re well taken care of. The ventilation is also great, so the rooms feel fresh and comfortable even the next day.

This is a lovely old hotel that has maintained much of the charm, comfort and elegance of 50 years ago. Our room was beautifully redecorated but there was no information about services. The bar and restaurant were closed at 11pm on Saturday night, when we arrived. There was tea, coffee and water in the room but the bar fridge was empty. We were tired and hungry and would have loved something better than the Tim Hortons down the street.

Pros
Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Room is clean and comfortable. Restaurant is good.
Cons
Dont use unscented detergents and the air fresheners in the hallways are quite strong.
--Fragrances such as these are a common allergy and should be avoided.--

The hotel seemed quite empty but I was a given beside the elevator and adjoining rooms to a noisy guest which interrupted my sleep. Amenities need upgrading gym, pool room. No robes or slippers in room over all just not a hotel I would recommend. Check-in team was very nice and fantastic though and did provide a late check out

From the check in this was a terrible experience; the parking lot has a bar but no guidance on what to do. There is a line of cars wrapped around the entrance with a long line of people checking in inside while their families wait in this other line of cars.
I can understand if they are busy, but the customer service from the man and woman working on 2/14 around 6pm was absolutely horrendous. I come to Toronto every couple weeks and have stayed at multiple locations across downtown, York, Vaughn, Markham and this is hands down the worst front desk experience I have ever had. They could not be more apathetic to anything going on; none of the normal information or question you would get during check in.. parking explantion, wifi info, number of keys, and general customer service civility. I asked the male worker if they hand laundry bags; he turned into an office and came back with a few and handed them to me all without looking at me like he was distracted by watching the TV at the bar.

Once we got into the room it did not get any better:

The black out curtains were ripped on the top so light flowed in the edges

The shower/bath water came out black in the beginning either from dust in the tub or the pipes themselves

The room was missing an office chair for the desk

The TV didnt work at all. (I called the front desk multiple times for assistance and they did not answer the first few times, but when they did answer they said they would send someone but they never did)

Staff was friendly, room was cleanish slow drain in bathroom sink and spots on duvet cover and sheets. Had an issue with an added name to the reservation. I booked through Expedia and messaged the hotel directly 4 days before my arrival to add a guest on to the reservation and include them in breakfast. While I have documentation of this conversation of course the hotel did not and still charged me for breakfast when it should’ve been included in my rate. Offering your rooms on a 3rd party site for sales but then not offering those paying clients the same level of service as the ones who booked through you directly is absurd. Business is business customer service is customer service and a guest is a guest regardless of how they booked their stay at your establishment.

To long to write. I am currently working with the team at Expedia about the issue. Stay away. They put us in rooms with broken windows and tried to tape it up in - 15. Put us in room tvs not working. Barely any hot water and requests for house keeping ignored. When asking for a copy of my file declined. I was met with we can’t help you you booked through Expedia. And now Expedia not helping me. Due to the sudden passing of a family member, we had to return to the U.S. immediately. The front desk guaranteed a refund for the second night at checkout, yet the hotel never honored it.

Both we and Orbitz made multiple attempts to contact hotel management by phone and email — no response.

As a Platinum member for many years, I have never experienced such a lack of follow-through or basic accountability. Deeply disappointing.
