Convenient location next to restaurants, freeway and shopping
Verified traveler
We liked the breakfast but were disappointed it didn't have a hot tub or pool.
Verified traveler
I did not like the room , clean but old needed updating . I hated the tv. Bathtub was not good , will not be going there anymore
Verified traveler
Absolutely unprofessional morning staff. Rooms are comfortable. Beware of rooms with bed bugs.
Veronica
The hotel is very old and was undergoing renovations. The air was musty and lots of dust too. Not worth the price.
Verified traveler
Did not wind up staying at this establishment as the staff were rude and unaccomodating. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone even if it was the last possible option.
Verified traveler
Convenient location near major highways. Recently updated lobby, standard rooms, very good complimentary breakfast. Sufficient heating on ground floor level and very friendly staff made this a great stay!
Verified traveler
Great location, just off the highway. Easy to get to and free parking is a great addition. Free breakfast is fresh and plentiful. I have recommended this hotel on a number of occasions. Rooms are quite large and very clean.

Friendly staff, easy check in, beautiful lobby!! Only complaint I had was that the beds were hard. Woke up with a sore back. Otherwise a great place to stay!

WORST STAY EVER!
It was the worst stay ever. I thought Holiday Inn is as good as others, but It was just disgusting and I do not know how come it's rated so high. We took pictures of the room and it is just worse than a 1 star motel. The room was so filthy and under the bed, there was so much crap. the bathtub was disgusting. between the tiles were dark and the tub itself was painted with a brush where there was stain or rust. The was was leaking. The breakfast was disgusting. They had heated the turkey sausages in the microwave and they were dry. The pancake machine was making a 3 inch pancake and it was half raw and no taste.
Verified traveler
The location was convenient being close to the highway
Fel
Staff at the desk are very helpful ,the hallways are very clean and the room we are assign is perfect .
Verified traveler
The water on sink drains very slowly you have to wiggle the plug. Can no longer rent a microwave. Only one microwave on the main lobby for the whole building. Very disappointing.
Verified traveler
Staff was freindly, proficient and courteous. Clean common areas and rooms. Exercise room a little dated and not checked regulrly(towels and garbage needed attending)and only microwave available for use was broken and overused.
Verified traveler
Excellent free breakfast buffet.
Not impressed that the property took a $50 pre-authorization on my credit card in case of incidentals because I booked through a third party. I was there for one night last week and the pre-auth is still on my credit card.

The King Bed was not comfortable at all. Pillows were way to soft. Shower water came out in a trickle. Very noisy in the morning starting at 5 am. No TV guide on the tv to let you know what’s on or coming on. Not worth the 206 paid for one night.
Linds
Was only one night stay so I couldn’t try out all they had to offer. But from what I experienced this was a good spot to stay. The staff is accommodating and helpful.
Verified traveler
Nothing unique. The buildings is old and rooms were clean, but did not have enough electric outlets.
Leo
The property is close to amenities. A bit dated on interior of room. It was clean. Parking was great and fairly a big size as it wraps around the hotel. They offer breakfast. Staff were very helpful.
Verified traveler
Good but we asked for no smoking room ...,but our room smelled cigaret as soon as you walk in
Verified traveler
Very friendly staff, only issue we experienced was that the beds weren’t as comfortable as we would have liked.

The pictures must have been taken 15-20 years ago,
It looks very run down compared to the pictures on the web site, the inside smelled like a perfume factory, like they were trying to hid the bad smell, the interior hallway doors were

The night hotel front desk were rude especially the hotel staff by the name of Huron or something. They don't know how to treat customers well. Asked for a suite with a jicuzzi got one without if cause only one suite has it apperently, but they couldnt clearify this on their website and when you call the staff members they also didn't know, overall would never go to this particular location ever.
Verified traveler

Decent, but aged
Was disappointed that the building, rooms and amenities showed their age. The few staff I interacted with seemed friendly. Room was clean.
Emily
The set up and interior design of the room was very nice. The halls had a musty odour which suggests the overall building needs some updates. Breakfast was decent though the eggs were a bit cold
Susan
Location for the purposes of my trip, clean, quiet, pleasant to stay.
Bob
Good location, proximity to public transport, shops and eating places.

I liked that this HIE property was conveniently located.
I didn't like that this HIE property was dated (needs to be refreshed).

We were a family staying for my sons wedding. We booked rooms with 2 queen beds on purpose to accommodate 4 adults and 4 kids. We got our queen beds but my daughter did not. Therefore my daughter and 13 yr old granddaughter had to sleep on the floor. The staff said there was no cot and we asked for a lot of blankets to make a softer floor and we got 1 extra blanket. My daughter used her points for this room and we booked months in advance. I will be avoiding Holiday Inn. Best Western is looking pretty good right now!
Verified traveler
Clean. Rooms are good in size for a family. Good breakfast with acceptable variety and friendly staff
Patricia
Staff was very kind. Good brealfast, very complete. Housekeeping service good. The property needs an up date looks old.

Free breakfast and convenient location to the university of Toronto
Verified traveler
Basic accommodation in a convenient location close to a major highway. We thought the breakfast buffet was very good although because it was very busy it was hard to find a table.
Verified traveler
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Property is kept clean.
Verified traveler
The staff were very nice. Angela, the front desk staff, was so nice and always smiling during our check in. She explained everything to us. The room was clean. The breakfast area was a little bit small but the staff kept it clean, the food never ran out. Will be back.
Verified traveler
We appreciated its proximity to our planned location and great pillows. Need to seriously improve ecofriendly focus. Use styrofoam for breakfast.
Vijji
Staff was very helpful. Carpets can be vacuumed or do with some deep clean
Verified traveler
I liked the quick access to my room and also the breakfast area.
I also appreciated that the staff reminded me of a package that I had pre-shipped was ready for pickup at front desk.

Good stay, but power was out for a couple hours.

The rooms are showing their age, but the staff were wonderful!
Verified traveler
How close it was to the Keg because we did not have a car.
CM
It was ok for a few days stay. Check in was painless. The property needs refreshing, Our room has a stale smell probably caused by the AC.
Connie
Everything seems to be fine. Perhaps some updating in the facilities.
Verified traveler
Walked in and hairdrying was running in bathroom, so 90 degrees. While in rest of the room, AC was running full blast, set to 60 degrees. I had to turn on the heat to make it bearable. Never did get the fan to shut off.

A welcome stop for the travel weary—always happy to stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

When you turned on light in bathroom, fan came on too - sounded like an airplane taking off. Ineffective at removing steam. Bathroom needs to be renovated. Breakfast was awful. Wouldn't eat there the 2nd morning of stay. Came back 10:15 p.m. and key cards wouldn't work on room door.

Every time we had to use the room key it didn’t work and we had to go back to reception to have it reset.

The room was clean and the receptionist was friendly

Property seemed to be quite clean and the staff were pleasant. The blackout curtains did nothing to block out the front lights of the hotel entrance.. Overall we were quite pleased with our stay

It was ok. Very standard. At one point I asked to buy some milk as the coffee mate they provide in the room is just nasty. They said no. I wandered around in search for milk as the local convenience store was out as was subway. The next day they had free milk with breakfast. I was surprised they didn't offer me a box or at least sell me one.

All was well except the bed my daughter and l could not sleep well due to the bed too soft. For two nights we woke up with paint in the back. Too soft a seat or a bed, one gets into a bad position which in case with a bed, the pain remains longer. Otherwise The hotel is a nice and economic. There is an excellent restaurant a few STEPS away from the hotel.

The property was well kept with the exception of an electronic lock on the rear entrance of the building. Someone had placed a brick in the door jam to keep the door open to anyone. The only other problem I had was that the room maintenance was not done one day during our stay. I had to go down and get some fresh towels. The free breakfast was excellent.

Better than the first impression
Staff was friendly, breakfast was good. First impression was that the hotel was very old...outside was not appealing. Inside was updated and the hotel was very quiet and comfortable. Our room had a full brick wall behind the bed that we liked and the air conditioner was quiet and had a function to keep the fan always on.

Everything is close to the hotel. My family and i loved it and would definitely go back next summer.

Rooms had a moldy smell, carpet was old and dirty and bathrooms were not clean. Breakfast options were good, but rooms really need new carpets, and you really should renovate the bathrooms.

Goo stay in Holiday Inn Express.
Hotel location was great, so was everything else.

the front desk help was super friendly and helpful

Great hotel not too far from Toronto. Breakfast was good too.
Verified traveler
Like the location and all staff are very nice and friendly
Verified traveler
No one answered the front desk when I called for assistance.
Verified traveler
Not family friendly as there is no self laundry facilities. Thus inconvenient for our long stay there. Besides, water droplets keep condensing on the toilet bowl surface, causing patches of water formed on the ground. This is really a nuisance.

Worn and dated but okay at the right price
Rooms are very tired.... Old carpet and fixtures/toilet and little water pressure in shower. Tile in the bathroom crunched when you walked on it...Room 216. The front desk was very friendly, efficient, and fast, no complaints there. If you can get in at a great price, it's worth it. This particular room is right across from vending and ice machines so there was periodic loud noise from time to time.
