Our recent on overlooked the beach but the windows were so foggy it was difficult to see clearly. That may be just the way it is right on the coast but it was disappointing.

Room had ocean view but windows were very dirty. They were higher up so you only saw the ocean when you were standing up. The hotel is marketed as a gay hotel which isn’t apparent from the online description.
There was sand on the floor when we arrived and was never vacuumed. The toilet tank valve was broken and water ran constantly.
The beach side restaurant was very good. Nice atmosphere good drinks but service was sometimes spotty.

Overall the stay was okay, but there are a few things travelers should know. Housekeeping was not completed daily during my stay, which was a little disappointing. Parking is also a big issue. If you plan to stay here, you may want to reconsider renting a car because valet parking costs $27 every time you come and go, which adds up quickly.
One highlight was Angel, who was incredibly sweet, helpful, and always accommodating during our stay. The service from staff like Angel definitely made the experience better.

The Tryst is known to be a gay hotel, so if you are sensitive be aware. It is excellently located just a block to the best parts of Condado Beach for dining and shopping and it is right on the beach straight out from its very nice beach terrace. The terrace has a great bar, good food selection tables or bar seating and great lounge chairs for eating or sunbathing.They have beach towels upon request at the front desk and beach lounge chairs and umbrellas for free on the beach that they set up for you upon request.This is the ONLY beach terrace with food and nice music along Condado beach.Also, their front desk staff is very friendly and relaxed, they held our luggages for big part of the day after we checked out while we waited for our check in to our next hotel in Old San Juan and let us keep our beach chairs and umbrella all day at the beach. That was a big plus as we were able to eat and relax before moving to Old SJ. Now please be aware the rooms are nothing more than prison cells, We paid a lot of money for a room with \"Ocean View\". The view was from a dirty small apartment-window so dirty you could barely see outside, there was barely any space for a queen bed and the bathroom was a incredibly small with a half sink, no countertop, no surface space, we had to close the lid of the toilet to have some surface for our toiletries. Also, they had a DJ event on the Sunday from 11 am to late afternoon, so loud the walls shook with the base. Not sure this is a regular event.

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. From the moment I checked in, the staff made me feel truly welcomed and taken care of. They kindly helped store my luggage while my room was getting ready and even allowed me to check in an hour early at no extra charge, which I really appreciated.
The team was always attentive, friendly, and very professional. The room is small but very comfortable, clean, and has everything you need for a great stay. And the view from the hotel… absolutely stunning, easily a 1000/10.
The restaurant was also delicious — everything I tried was fantastic.

Solid 3 star hotel. Room is need of some tlc. The rug in the room was sticky and stained. Dresser drawers and closet door didn’t shut properly and my sheet had a smudge of what looked like a fecal stain. Requested a safe with my room selection received a broken safe never replaced.
The plus side: Staff very polite and accommodating. Thanks Angel and Mistrer for everything, great advice for food and excursions. The room was reasonably priced compared to similar hotels in fact they’re about 25% cheaper than their competitors. Overall, a nice visit.

I stayed for 6 nights at The Tryst Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and once again it did not disappoint. The rooms were clean and neat, just like last year, which I really appreciate. It’s always great coming back to a place that keeps its standards high.

My wife and I stay here 8 days; although, our experience here was ok, we are not planning to comeback to this property. They promote this hotel and full refrigerator, but the refrigerator is very tiny, about 16\"x16\". Good and bad staff, some staff very nice polite, but some staff were rude. We requested to only service our room every other day which the cleaning girls were fabulous, but when we as for water the day that the service was not clean, the man in the front desk was very rude and told us that we were drying-out his office refrigerator. We never ask for water again as is the only thing that this hotels includes.

The outside lobby was directly below our room. From noon until 11:30 PM the music was above 100 dB. We had asked the manager to turn down the music. He did so briefly. But at 11:30 PM I had to demand that the music level will be lowered. To his benefit, the manager complied. The shower water in our room was cold. I asked the front desk clerk to address this. He said he would. As of the time of our departure it still was not repaired. And a positive note, the hotel is right on the beach and has direct access to same

What went wrong on the trip was lack of hot water on the 4th floor for the majority of our trip and a WiFi outage that turned the hotel cash only. These were 2 big inconveniences. But the staff did the best to help and were very friendly.

Literally the best hotel in San Juan. The staff is so friendly and helpful with everything from check in, to current events happening at the hotel, room accommodations, and provided great recommendations of things to do in the area. Plus, the location is literally perfect, with the beach steps away from the room, and easy to get to major tourist spots such as Old San Juan, and access to many amazing restaurants - I can't recommend this hotel enough. Also, I appreciate the staff allowing me to practice my Spanish here as well, and I will definitely return to the Tryst. I appreciate everyone here making San Juan a home away from home, 100%!

Tryst was definitely an experience. We made the mistake of getting there way to early. They said that they would let us know when the maids got in and that he would have them clean our room first. Didn't happen. We sat there and they forgot about us. We asked he said oh well no we won't be able to give you your room till 4:00. If we had known that we would have went and done something. We were very tired after being on a cruise. We decided to go to their bar. It was Sunday and they have a big Drag Brunch Show. They were all full for the show, but we were sitting at the bar so we got to watch. It was pretty fun. They were great. We couldn't eat anything because we had already bought a bottle service for Jameson. They would charge an extra $45 or more to have the brunch part. It does include mimosas. There are quit a few restaurants in the area with good food so we just went out to eat. This beach is a loggerhead turtle breading ground. Check to see if there are any sighted because I am sure thst they clear the beach. The ocean has a rip tide. They have warnings posted to not swim. A lot of alternative stuff going on. I would suggest this hotel for a younger more openminded set of people. I didn't have a problem, but lets say it is very LGBTQ+ friendly. At 4:00, we went and our room was ready. The room was nice, except they left old food in the fridge. The next morning we took cold showers. Not fun at all. Just a few issues that they could fix.

It’s located in a very nice neighborhood and offers an unbeatable price for an ocean-view stay right next to the beach—definitely better value compared to many other hotels in the area. The property feels fresh and modern thanks to recent renovations, and the daily cleaning service kept everything spotless. The reception staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help, which made the experience even better.
The only downsides were the bathroom being quite small and the bathroom window not being able to open, which affected ventilation a bit.

Renovations to the residence began in 2014 and completed in 2015 converting it into a boutique hotel. The original architect was Henry Melich who's concept and design for this building were taken from Palladian architecture which was derived and inspired by designs of venetian architect Andrea Palladio, who was born in Italy in 1508 and died in 1580.
Hence, the drawings are an evolution of Palladio's original concept.
