The Beach was beautiful and swimmable. The hotel anticipated and met your every need and desire. Everything was convenient. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. They were pleasant polite and went out of their way to make the guest happy and comfortable and able to do what they wanted to do on their vacations. I would return for sure.

The staff were not very nice. Acted put out every time you asked for help. The request for services (ie minibar refill) were ignored. Asked 5 separate times, and it was done 1 time. The room we played for was not available on day 1. We had to check out and check back in on day 2 to get the room that we paid for. Pool was great. Food was OK. Will not be back! The people we met had the same experience as we did.

Outdoor pool / pool area is in need of a refresh.
We used the main pool once, tiles are broken and worn / rusted areas. Concerned about the water alkaline balance as there was always floating foam in corners. Personally did not witness any testing of water. Did see maintenance every morning with vacuuming up all the sand in pool and skimming.
Our room was Lovely, great size and cleaned well. very accommodating at any request.
Romell at front of house was a great resource for local adventure.
Food was good, great variety. The buffet areas would benefit from hand sanitizer stations given the amount of self serve utensils.
Beach staff and beach was lovely.
Overall a pleasant stay.

Really nice hotel. We had a great stay, only thing I recommend is if you want to dine at the restaurants, make your reservations at least 2-3 days before your arrival. I wish we knew that because we were not lucky enough to get a reservation & they are not very nice at the door to the restaurants!!!!

This property is much smaller than I expected especially the pools. There are only two bars and no gift shop in case you need essential items but there is an OVER PRICED one across the street. The beach area isn’t maintained well the sand is very thick and rocky and wasn’t raked during our stay and it’s difficult to walk in. BUT the staff and food were great!

let’s start off with all the pros, the food was amazing 10 out of 10 (and I tend to think of myself as having very high standards when it comes to food), I love seafood, and all the fish was delicious!! The cocktails were great too, I thought since it’s an all-inclusive, the cocktails would be watered down, but they all tasted amazing! I love that they have a coffee shop on site with delicious iced coffee (great alternative to all the cocktails if you don’t wanna drink all day). The location of the hotel is a 10 out of 10 right by the water, there are lots of spots to see the ocean from like the restaurants and balconies and pool area. I love that there’s no kids and it’s a very calm environment. Also, the staff was super friendly and helpful and went out out of their way every possible way. The only downside for me but definitely not a dealbreaker was the room, I would say it was not 100% clean and a bit outdated. We had a couple rainy days and it would’ve been nice to watch Netflix, but the TV was very old and did not have any smart TV functions. I would definitely come stay at that hotel again ❤️❤️❤️

Adults only is the best way to enjoy a vacation on your own. Staff was super friendly and they take pride in maintaining a clean hotel for you to enjoy. The buffet was a great variety of constantly changing options with several that maintained consistency. There was even lobster tails one night! The pool area was consistently maintained as we're the common areas.

1. we had a blast, 99% of the staff was nice and very helpful.

2. No problem getting a ride to & from the airport - GET A TAXI it was 65 to RIU. some dude tried to charge us $90, so beware. taxi's are readily available anywhere.

3. DONT BE CHEAPWITH THE TIPS!!! you can get change at the front desk

4. We left everything in the hotel room safe and took just the money for tips with us to the pool ( we are not big drinkers though) if you are then take more for tips. any money you put in their hands to exchange for a drink they just made you goes a long way and puts a smile on their faces.

5. so, the only complaint that we have is that the room we were staying in was not very well cooled, i read about this particular problem in several comments on the web site so i know the hotel is very aware of this issue. we did ask for a fan to help circulate the air but they do not have fans. it could be that our room faced the sun all day and could have some affect on the heat/ sticky feel inside the room. other guest we talked to said their rooms were very cold, actually too cold at times but their rooms were on the other side of the building, on the shaded side. i thought with the curtains pulled would help keep the room cooler during the day but the A/C unit was was on full blast the entire time and it had no affect on the dampness inside the room. hotel staff said they would send someone to look at the A/C unit but they never came.

The property needs maintenance overhaul. We had no issues with our room but we heard other guest complaining about their rooms.

The buffet and the Jerk food at the pool was the highlight. The specialty dinning needs more choices earlier time slots.

The entertainment was just average, but that group worked hard everynight.

We had a great stay at the Riu. I read many reviews when we booked this property and was surprised to see how many 4, 5, and 6 star ratings there were. This was an absolute 10/10 for us and we would definitely stay here again.

Pros
The whole place was very clean. They had staff mopping and wiping down constantly. The rooms were really nice and clean and not too outdated, which is what I read on other reviews.
The staff were exceptional, from the bars, restaurants, pool, and entertainment staff. Special shoutouts to Hugh, Leo, Arnold, Vivianna, and Sasha!
The food was very good. Good options at the buffet. We had no problem getting into the restaurants, but you most likely won't be able to get a reservation until your third night. This is consistent with what we read on other reviews.

Cons
The pools require some updates and there are some tiles around the pool area that need to be replaced. But, this did not have a negative impact on our pool time.

I stayed at the Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island from May 28–30, and overall I had a great experience. The property was beautiful, clean, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was at one of the restaurants when I was told I could only choose one appetizer. For an all-inclusive resort, especially considering the price I paid, I feel guests should be able to order what they want from the menu without those kinds of restrictions.

My room has lots of mildew in the curtains, you had to have the AC blasted and not open the door or else the AC would drip condensate on the floor. The female staff and some male staff were not very friendly, one was quite aggressive. Maybe it’s the culture but as a female solo traveler it means a lot to feel welcome and I did not. My room was not stocked with water and there isn’t clean water easily available, didn’t have creamer either. The floor I was on had a balcony but it’s the only floor that’s balcony is a solid wall so you can’t even get a view without looking over it. Room service didn’t even restock the coffee. The pools were very nice, lots of space to sit and very clean area. Buffets were super clean. Japanese restaurant was frozen food so you can’t sub out any ingredients. The staff didn’t tell me you have to book at least a day in advance. App was weird to use. I think this is the only poor review I have ever given for a hotel and I really mean it. The only thing that would make me consider coming back is that it’s all inclusive AND adults only, if they got rid of either of those there is no way I would consider coming back. The bell boys were also so great. Amazing customer service from them. But over all I’m pretty disappointed.

The staff was always cleaning and very nice however our room was upgraded and it didn't have working outlets, our wifi kept going out and our TV didn't get but 3 or 4 channels! They came to fix it at least 4 times and it didn't fix it. The pools are very small for the amount of people who were there and the food hours were very confusing and difficult to navigate, especially since reservations were made 2 days out and you couldn't make them till you arrived. I love the Bahamas but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This was a trip for our 25th anniversary and it cost 4000.00 for 4 nights and we could have gone on 2 trips for that price! Not worth it!!

A nice place, but the pool closes at 6. Chairs are brought in from the beach then also.
People (some reeking of marijuana) are on the beach constantly asking you to ride jet skis, buy cigars, etc. It is not a private beach.
Non-alcoholic drinks are limited.
A few kids were there also, despite being adult only.
The water is great! The rooms are nice. The staff does cater to you.

We stayed for 6 nights as we were recommended to come to the Hotel Riu Palace Paradise Island by our family who visit every year, and overall it was a wonderful stay. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and greeted us at every interaction. The room was lovely and the selection of food and drinks were great. The overall atmosphere was fantastic and there never seemed to be dull moment in the day, but even when there were not activities going on, the music was playing, and it allowed a nice atmosphere to sit lay back and relax and enjoy the sun and pool. The resort was clean and maintained and after a previous horrible first time experience at another all-inclusive resort in the winter time, this hopeful \"redemption\" trip to the Hotel Riu Palace at Paradise Island has now restored our faith and we both agreed that we would definitely return for winter/spring getaways!! Thank you so much for a great vacation!!!! We look forward to returning!

Highlights: The beach was absolutely beautiful with clean, clear water and well-maintained sand. The food was surprisingly good, and the buffet staff was friendly and attentive throughout our stay. Special recognition to Caudisha and Wilnar, who provided exceptional service. Caudisha was warm, personable, and always made us feel welcomed, while Wilnar was consistently friendly, professional, and accommodating. Both truly enhanced our experience. The location was perfect for exploring local attractions, beaches, and downtown. The alcohol quality was also much better than expected for an all-inclusive resort, and the 24-hour nightclub/bar was a nice adults-only feature.
Lowlights: The nightly entertainment lacked diversity and did not feel inclusive of African American guests. Most music centered around rock, Latin, and pop, with very little variety. I would have appreciated more diverse selections or Bahamian music and culture incorporated into the shows.
Another major issue was smoking in clearly marked non-smoking areas around the pool bar and lounge spaces. Staff and security frequently saw it happening but did not enforce the rules, which negatively impacted the experience for non-smoking guests. Restaurant reservations were extremely difficult to get at reasonable times. The resort also needs maintenance upgrades, including broken pool tiles, rusted speakers, and chipped paint in common areas. While the rooms were updated, the furniture still felt outdated.

Overall, this property is a 3-star hotel at best. The facilities need extensive TLC and nothing like any other RIU in the world. Staff are not well trained — they don't listen or react, and the hotel is managed by local rather than RIU's global standards.

Our nightmare began before arrival. Despite being a RIU member, no one responded to our booking for two days. Calls to the hotel only redirected us to the global website. We requested a quiet room in advance — completely ignored.
We arrived to find connecting doors, which should not exist in an adults-only hotel. We requested a room change immediately but no one acted. We spent a sleepless night listening to strangers on their adventure vacation. The next day they moved us, but our window faced the entire building's AC system. The third room was next to the elevator with a broken AC — a technician came but two hours later nothing had changed.

The property has an abandoned building on one side and a Four Seasons construction site on the other. Food was average at best and waitstaff consistently forgetful.

The only highlight was the location — the beach is stunning and the water so clear it sparkles. Atlantis is a 15-minute walk away.
We would never return! I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that there was no dairy-free milk on one of the most expensive islands in the world, where the majority of guests are American — in 2026.

We had a relaxing and comfortable time at the Riu. The entire staff bent over backwards to help us, especially the use of a wheelchair for my wife. Great selection of good food for all meals.
We ate at three of the restaurants within the Riu. The food and service were very good, however it seemed like 2 of the 3 kind of encouraged us to leave as soon as our dinner was finished. Would have enjoyed staying for 15-20 minutes more. No other concerns, would recommend and return to Riu in Paridise Island.

I paid for a suite with ocean view. They put
Us in a room with no balcony overlooking the roof to the lobby. The a/c was stuck on 60, it leaked all night and there was no hot water. When I went to tell them this was not the room I paid for, the manager at the desk said it was my fault for booking with Expedia. To get the room I originally paid for, they charged me another $80 a night. I will never go back and will not recommend this property to anyone

The pool was awesome and heated, games by the pool and swim up bar were great!! Only downfall is that the buffet food was not good. Breakfast was ok, but lunch and dinner not at all. The jerk chicken station by the pool was very good. The food in the restaurants was very good and a fancy experience. I did not like that we could not make dinner reservations for the first 2 nights and were forced to eat the buffet or go off property. The coffee station in the lobby has sandwichs for lunch, those were good and easy to grab on the way out. Overall it was an amazing visit and we had a wonderful time. Be careful with the guys on the beach selling excursions, some guests got scammed. Just book through the resort and you’ll be better off.

The staff was lovely. The food absolutely delicious. The property is urgently in need of a renovation. My room was old with cracked sinks, peeling bedside reading lamps, warped refrigerator door, non-ventilating bathroom vent. After every shower the floor was wet. The bed and pillow were uncomfortable.
The swim up bar was small, paint was peeling, the pool water was stagnant with no filter on. The lounge chairs by the pool touch each other bc they are crammed into a small area which forces to to crawl in position from the bottom. The infrastructure of this hotel is simply quite poor. I would never stay here again even if it was free of charge.

making reservations at the restaurant was not so great, you have to make it in the app and you need to make it a few days before because they are very booked,
you can’t make reservations before you arrive and you are checked in because you need a room number, so the first 3 days we didn’t get a reservations at any place, the last 2 night we did and the restaurants were great,
dinks are ok, nothing special really,
I would go here again because the beach and sand are just beautiful and clean and there are not many affordable all inclusive hotels in the island and food and taxi are very expensive, we paid $30 to get to Margaritaville (food was great there) it’s a 10 min walk, which we did back to the hotel

Nice place. Close to everything via taxi. $5 per person ride.
Staff superb. Food great. Steakhouse the best. Right on beach, two pools.
