Great place, awesome staff. Food was good, I’d recommend. The only thing that was an issue for us was our A/C fan was a little loud and the walls on the 15th floor are pretty thin. Overall, I’d recommend to anyone and I’d go back and stay again for sure.

There was nothing spectacular about this resort, it was more like a Holiday Inn. We very much disliked that there were smokers everywhere, we could not escape it. At the pool, at the resort entrance, and the outside restaurant balcony. The pool area was very basic. For the price this was not what I was expecting. Riu can take pointers from Fiesta Americana Condesa in Cancun, now that is an all inclusive resort.

When we arrived to the hotel, the lobby smelled like a sewage. We were not served any drinks upon arrival. The receptionist, Wilbur, who checked us in did not explain the resort amenities, restaurants, nor inform us about reservations for dinner. I had a rude server during dinner at the Bahama steakhouse restaurant. The bar tenders were extremely friendly, as well as the showtime workers. The hotel room itself was very clean. Food met my expectations.

Great place to stay and a lovely property. Not easy to make or get reservations at the restaurants, that was aggravation we didn't want or need on our vacation. Be careful with the band they put on your wrist because my husbands came off when snorkeling and they were strict with the $200 dollar replacement band cost, which was not something we planned on or happy about. I had pictures before and after snorkeling of wrist but they wouldn't budge. All staff in the restaurants and bars were fabulous! The guards on the beach were very hard working and great pulling chairs down for all the guests.

The only thing I would say is as a solo traveler, there wasn't any attention on me and there were times at lunch and dinner where no one came up to me or even gave me water and made me feel like it was because I was alone. Only catering to couples and parties was upsetting and weird. But that is my ONLY complaint! Other than that, great experience!

The room was clean and well maintained, and housekeeping did a good job throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience more pleasant.
Breakfast offered a good variety of options, and everything we tried felt fresh and regularly replenished.
The outdoor pool area was nice and had plenty of seating, but I personally didn’t use the pool much because the water felt too warm for my preference. The poolside seating itself was comfortable, although some loungers showed signs of wear.
Overall, the hotel provides a comfortable stay with good service, but there are small areas that could be improved.

I’m giving Riu’s Paradise Palm on Paradise Island just one star. The service was disappointingly average, and staff lacked genuine friendliness toward guests. The rooms were mediocre at best—old furniture, stained sheets, and worn-out beds. Shockingly, you couldn’t even take a simple burger down to the beach—an odd and frustrating rule. The pool area was visibly run-down as well. For such a pricey stay, the overall experience was far below expectations. The only saving grace was the food in the restaurants. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Location: Beautifully located directly on a gorgeous beach.
Room: Our room was clean; as was the whole resort, Nice touch to find a small birthday cake in our room on my husband‘s birthday.
Staff: The staff were friendly and helpful. On occasion we were ignored by the bar staff.
Buffet: There were always plenty of options to choose from and the food was fresh and plentiful. Some choices could be hotter.
Restaurants: We only went to the Bahama Steakhouse on my husband’s birthday and were disappointed. The service felt rushed, I received the wrong entree, my husband’s steak was over cooked and the room sounded like a cafeteria…cleaning of plates, etc.
Bar/Entertainment: The room was big and the acoustics were not great, but a nice option for people to gather for drinks after dinner.
Pools: We were always able to get a lounge chair and the pool temperature was perfect! Activities were available throughout the day for those who wanted to participate. It was nice to be able to see the ocean from the smaller pool with bar.

it was a wonderful stay just had an odd smell in the lobby.. we went to enjoy my 50th birthday but it was so windy the whole time and couldn't enjoy the beach. the pool was nice but the weather also ruined it. the cab drivers were very nice and the tour of the town was great.

We stayed for five nights, and overall, the experience was mediocre at best. The hotel itself is not well maintained. For example, the balcony door handle broke off when we tried to close it, and the safe was missing a battery cover, causing it to work intermittently. When staff came to fix it, they literally taped the batteries in place.

The bathrooms also lack exhaust fans, so nothing ever really dries, which was frustrating. The food across the restaurants was disappointing—small portions and poor quality. The buffet was okay, but nothing memorable.

There are only two pools (one swim-up and one regular), which are fine but nothing special. The beach is decent, with clear blue water, which was a highlight.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have great weather for the first few days, and there’s very little to do if you can’t use the beach or pool. A trip to Nassau is an option, but it costs around $20–30 each way depending on the taxi driver.

One thing I do highly recommend is visiting Exuma—it was absolutely amazing and easily the best part of the trip.

Biggest Complaint are the floors. They keep the floors waxed and whatever wax they are using the floors are slippery in the hallways, dinning rooms, and common areas. Just opening the room door my feet would start to slide against just the pressure exertion on the door. When shutting off the AC (could not reset temperature - not allowed) the floors became sticky and unpleasant to walk on. Way too cold on the AC and I spent 20+ years selling chillers, etc for The Trane Company. Wasting $$$ on setting the temperatures this low in April!

My wife and I just finished our stay and we were blown away with how our stay was. Our room was very clean and well kept, the food at some all inclusive resorts can be hit or miss from what I’ve heard and the buffet food and restaurant food was outstanding. It completely suprised us and the staff here are so polite, respectful, and welcoming. The front desk staff made us feel right at home when we checked in and answered all questions we had. The pools, bars, and entertainment were top notch. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. We absolutely loved and enjoyed every day here in the Bahamas! I would 100% recommend this resort

By far the worst service I’ve ever received in any country at any hotel or resort. It says all inclusive and nothing was included except one terrible restaurant and a bunch of bad service. The rooms got cleaned once a day and we still had dirty blankets from the people that were there before us. Breakfast at the Atlantic was terrible every day, even though the food was made fresh it always seemed as if it was three or four days old. Booking any other restaurants was hell and high water due to overbooking and a poorly setup system. None of the outlets in my first room were getting power so I was moved on my second day to a room where the thermostat didn’t work. They expect you to pay for things like laundry service which should be included in the all inclusivity. Most of the public transportation will rip you off, they tell you one price at your hotel and another once they get you away from their boss so they can charge you more.

The property was pretty good. It was in better shape than what I read on some of the comments with reviews. Food was decent. It could be a little bit higher quality. The desserts were great. The buffet was pretty good. The breakfast buffet was pretty basic in the same every day. It would be nice for it to mix it up a little bit like they do lunch and dinner. The staff was awesome. There’s just one front desk person named Tula and she was awesome and helped me every day I was there. I wish they would had a better or an actual gift shop within inside the property for basic amenities, etc. The entertainment was awesome. The vibe was great. The room itself was very nice loved the shower finally found a place that had a great shower.

We had a terrible time , the staff was not very friendly and accommodating, the day we arrived we were unable to make reservations at any of the four specialty restaurants because you can only make them once you check in and have a room, which makes no sense, this property is very outdated, we went there for my wife’s 50th birthday in the morning of her birthday. There was a cockroach on the floor so we took pictures and went downstairs to the lobby and showed them so they then made us go up and pack everything in our room on my wife’s birthday day, including all of the balloons that I had delivered, which cost me $300 and move to another room, we will never return. We are very disappointed.

Safe was broken, Maintenance guy Michael very efficient to try to fix it numerous times. Upon check in , we never received wrist bands, were given 4 room keys and no towel cards. Staff acted as if it was our error and were very rude. We would not be \"sneaking on \" to that resort. There was no availability in any of the restaurants for our entire stay. We were \"awarded\" dinner reservations to compensate for Riu's staff mistakes.
The breakfast and dinner buffets were very good.
There is only one option for nighttime cocktails- the theater, which doesn't have any windows or open air. There is no other option for a cocktail other than the pool bar, which closes at 6pm. Beach was beautiful, but unfortunately it was too windy to enjoy. Water was beautiful but too dangerous to get into. That, of course, is not the resort's fault, just something to keep in mind when booking at beginning of hurricane season.
I have stayed at a RIU in both Puerto Vallarta and Cancun that were MUCH larger and nicer.

Breakfast buffet was good. Options were very limited for dining during the day. Specialty dining was difficult to get in. You have to book 2 to 3 days in advance and few slots are offered at each booking time. The specialty dining setting was never full but the food was good. Most staff were friendly, but our check in receptionist was curt and not very friendly. The pool and lounges were nice. The bar staff was usually friendly, but very busy. It would be nice to have more entertainment available. Due to the very high winds and red flag conditions, ocean swimming was out, and little was offered as entertainment. The hot stone massage was terrific. Our room was clean, but the view was of the roof over the restaurant. Very disappointing. Overall, I would rate the experience as average. I was expecting more.

The hotel is older. The rooms can definitely be updated. We were on the 15th floor (penthouse) very nice view but the room was average. Old looking, brown, scratched up wood. The curtains and drapes makes the room look drab. Not a lot to do at the hotel outside of the pool( which closes at 6) and the night entertainment is minimal. They need to have events for all types ( blacks, whites, other, old , young, etc.). Food choices were ok but not too many “non pork” choices for breakfast. Lastly, the “rsvp “ required restaurants were already booked every day, so we couldn’t get in. Overall, it was a nice to getaway but if
I was to vacation in the Bahama again, I probably would not choose to go back to the RIU.

Hotel was as I would have expected. Not bad for the price. My room was solid and had a great beach view, room service and maintenance was very goo. Staff did a great job with housekeeping, Resturant food was pretty good, buffet could be better. I actually ate out multiple times around atlantis and shops so didnt eat the food the whole stay but its average. The pool area was very windy, unsure if I got unlucky all week or if there is some wind tunnel but drinks and towels would fly away. The beach is nice but big waves made it unswimmable, I would recommend rose island for beach activities. Also you will be annoyed by beach vendors, I would say no but some were persistent and wouldnt take no as an answer. The walk to Atlantis and shops is about 10-15 mins walk, hotel is isolated on paradise island but taxis are available. My stay was good, hotel met my expectations.

Needed a room change because our bathroom door fell off the rails. And none of the electrical outlets in the bathroom worked.
That being said, we still had a wonderful time. Drinks were great. Beach beautiful Friendly staff.

Worst among any of the RIU properties. Dated, old, crowded, loud and noisy. Small space for property. Not suitable for quite relaxation. Not enough washrooms - only one in the reception area and one near the pool. Crowded pool. Ladies' washroom below standard. Safety box in the room had to be repaired twice. Nothing Japanese about the specialty restaurant. Poolside bar service not friendly. Bar across the Spa does not have a pleasant ambience, feels like a dungeon. Drinks made with cheap brands, do not taste right. Carts used for food/towels are extremely noisy- use WD40 for the wheels or get new ones!. Very disappointing except for the beach. Not worth the RIU brand. Do not recommend.

Where to begin? We have stayed at this RIU in the Bahamas four times. This will be the last. It has gone downhill. This is not a 4 star resort at all. The rooms are musty and moldy due to the lack of proper ventilation and air conditioning. The entire hotel has that musty smell. Everything needs major upgrades. The bar pool has tiles floating loosely at the bottom. The food is awful! The buffet was completely disappointing. We had one decent meal at the steakhouse but you have to reserve it two days before. We switched rooms twice. Every room had some sort of issue- no water coming out of shower head, mildew all over the hanging drapes, smells of musty mold. One room had poor air conditioning due to dirtiness. I don’t usually do reviews however I’m saving you from be very disappointed for the money you spend! Look elsewhere. The Baha Mar and Atlantis were much nicer even though a bit more money. It’s worth it and we may try them if we come back.

The staff was really nice and helpful! Everything else was a disaster! The food not good, we even found cockroaches in bread bucket! The bed and pillows terrible, for the first time ever my back and neck was hurting! Unable to eat, unable to sleep two most important things in an AI, and let’s not say about cleaning pfff! The only thing that I liked was the beach but the hotel I could give 0 stars. Would not pick RIU anymore and would not recommend!

Could only get 1 reservation for dinner and we stayed a week, our mini fridge ran out of water and soda and we called room service for a restock and they said no. Really long lines for alcohol. Food was mediocre and room service was VERY limited options. Shows/ dj ended early in the night so the club was dead every night. Bar Pool needs more cleaning. Jason and Leo the bartenders were amazing ☆

The all-inclusive aspect is a great perk, but the restaurants were just average—the food didn’t quite live up to the photos or menu descriptions. They have many people there, bringing you chairs and umbrellas down to the beach and setting you up.

They have many excursions right from the hotel so you don’t have to book anything when you’re booking your vacation. We went snorkeling on the catamaran, which was awesome.

This is a smaller all inclusive and doesn’t have all of the amenities of a large resort but still nice and budget friendly.

The building is old but well-maintained. The staff was simply wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It was truly impressive. It was the most unforgettable experience. We are appreciative for it.

We were very pleased with our trip and stay at the RIU. Would have loved some outdoor seating for dining and maybe an outdoor bar at night but the food was great, the staff were wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone looking to go to the bahamas

Rooms were very clean but air condition in building ,hallways, seemed extremely high. Staff was hit, and miss
Either staff was helpful and friendly, or they were the complete opposite and made you feel as if you were bothering them.
Food was for the most part good,again hit and miss.

Great breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet with a lot food options. Clean hotel and friendly staff. No lineups anywhere at the hotel or restaurants. Seating at the poolside was good, just reserve your seat with your towel early morning. Definitely recommend and will be returning.

One of the few resorts that has enough loungers by the pool and on the beach. I also appreciated the shades that could easily be pulled over so she was in the sun and I was in the shade. The resort was clean. Always someone picking up or wiping or mopping the common areas and pool area.
