SLS Baha Mar was a great stay. The property is clean, well-kept, and has plenty to do, so it’s easy to enjoy yourself without ever feeling bored. The service was friendly throughout the visit, and one of the biggest highlights was the variety of restaurants. There are tons of options to choose from, with different cuisines available, so it’s easy to find something for everyone. Overall, it’s a beautiful, fun resort with great amenities and a strong dining scene.

Nice place, room, good staff service for the most part. SUPER expensive though so be prepared to spend about an extra $500/day for 2 people to eat and drink. Couldn’t have a meal for less than $100. Some great food but overall it was just ok.

I would recommend this resort to everyone there is something for all ages. The resort is beautiful, the staff is amazing kind and would go out of their way to help any guest. I will definitely comeback. Things I wish I knew: for a standard room you walk right into the bathroom when you enter your room, there is only one door separating the bedroom and the bathroom the water park closes at 6pm, the resort pools close at 7pm

The room had an interesting set up as far as there being only 1 door to separate you from the beds and the bathroom but it wasnt a big issue. The Property was HUGE....3 hotels on one property and you have access to all of them as well as the water park. There were soo many pools and the beach was very clean. Loved the fact the umbrellas were provided. Staff were very helpful, friendly, and welcoming.

Only con was the restaurant food, it was pretty pricey and the sides were usually pretty bland. Wish there was more traditional Bahamian/carribean food on site.

This hotel was very disappointing. Unfortunately from check in through all restaurants and activities we found the staff generally unhappy and difficult. Check in line was extremely long and staff were standing around joking while only one or two people worked. One of the check in women was extremely nice, but the rest were not Many times we tried to engage staff we were met with disinterest and in some cases, minor hostility. I was surprised given the level the hotel holds itself out to be. Hearing "hurry up. what do you want" aggressively from bartenders near the beach for example. Given the price difference we probably should have should have gone with the Grand Hyatt. The Baha Mar property is nice to look at and walk around and we did have good times at some of the pools and restaurants, but it really isn't up to the standards it sets out. Certainly was a set down from staying at the Atlantis.

I packed up and cut my vacation short it was a complete waste of money.
For the cost of this hotel etc I expected so much more.
70% of the staff are either rude, ignore you or look at you like you’re an inconvenience.
Two nights (out of the 3) I got sick from room service food.
My safe didn’t work.
My phone didn’t work.
My tv hotel directory didn’t work.
I waited 30 mins for my bags that were “right behind me”
I was on hold for 30 mins waiting for someone to take my food order (one of the times I ordered in).
The adults only pool was blocked off for events along with lots of seats at the quieter pool.
I stood in front of the hostess at Cleo trying to get a reservation and mid sentence she saw her friend, hissed at her to get her attention and started gossiping with her… in front of me.
This place is crawling with strollers, toddlers and families so if you’re looking for peace and quiet this is NOT where you will get it.
I let the concierge know of all my issues and no one cared much. They lightly touched base but did zero to try and turn my stay there around.
Even when I filled out their review link someone called to speak to me, I let them know when I could take a call and it’s been over a week, I guess they don’t care which follows suit with my stay.
The food is insultingly expensive, I don’t mind paying BUT I expect good service and quality if I do.
They could learn a thing or two from hotels in the Cayman’s or Bermuda.

We’ve stayed at Bahamar for the last few years and this year was pretty disappointing. It was our first time at SLS and for the price and expectation, we were very disappointed.

It was Easter weekend so it was a extremely crowded. We expected that when we couldn’t find a room at Grand Hyatt and only a few were left at SLS. We were like sardines.

The grounds were filthy. Cups, food, old towels, garbage, etc. we’re all over the place. It was filthy.

We expected the rooms to be excellent but they were small, dirty, not well kept, and run down.

The restaurants and restaurant staff were the only exception to the low rating. They were extremely friendly, kind, and the food was absolutely delicious no matter where we went. The service for food is 12/10 always and we were so happy that lived up to our expectations.

Our son LOVED the marine biologist experience. The staff was extraordinary. Such a Great experience. Highly recommend!

I left my expensive jacket and two children's jackets in the room upon check out. On my way to the airport, I called the staff so my friend could grab it from them before she left the next day. They told me they couldn’t find it and to file a claim. It was clearly on top of the counter. I called many times that day and emailed a bunch too. There’s no way that I’m getting those clothing items back. Such a shame. The hotel was disappointing and our belongings were taken by hotel staff.

We will not be returning to Bahamar.

Overall Baha mar is a beautiful place with beautiful pools, beach, hotel rooms. Plenty to do for kids as well as adults. What is terrible is the service. It is almost impossible to get any type of service wether it’s housekeeping, bar, dinner, or pool service. It is evident why: There is an automatic 15 percent service charge on every bill. For this reason no one at the hotel actually cares to be efficient or provide good service. People don’t smile. I sort of get it. If I was already getting my tip and the most I was going to get on top is an extra 5-10 percent, I wouldn’t have an incentive to service. You will hear the employees talking about guests etc.

Overall however people will still come because the pools, waterpark, and beach are excellent. If you can get by without good service still a good place to come to.

We had a very pleasant stay at the SLS overall. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, and the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable. The rooms were comfortable and the facilities met our expectations, making it a great place to relax and enjoy our vacation.

However, the breakfast experience at Cleo Mediterráneo was a bit disappointing. The variety of options was quite limited, especially considering the standard of the hotel, and the service felt somewhat inconsistent and slow at times.

That said, aside from breakfast, everything else was very good and we would still recommend the hotel for a pleasant stay.

Overall we had a good trip but probably won’t go back. The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The water park and pools close early 6-7pm which leaves you with not much for the kids to do. The pool staff wasn’t helpful or friendly at all. We rented a cabana and no one ever showed up to help us. We asked about the beach amenities included for the kids but were told they only put at one floating pad at a time for like 20 kids. Food prices are also extremely high for the quality.

Check in on arrival was disastrous, rude staff and not interested in doing their job. Room was supposedly a “Superior” room, 5-star quality, but was simply not even close. No door on bathroom. No door on closet (a curtain instead) and as basic as they come. Pool area we visited was very clean and service was good. Meals at top restaurants were excellent. Breakfast buffet was good. Hotel and amenities are very expensive. This is not the place for budget conscious travel. Julie (Director) saved what was destined for a horrible experience. Thanks to her and our room cleaning lady. She was awesome.

The hotel is nice but the rooms too small. Bathroom is open in the hallway with the shower door glass. Not appropriate for families. The pullout was too small for 2 children.
Hotel was nice. Food was pretty good but very expensive. Beach and pols got crowded. Seemed like there was charge for too many things - private pools, cabanas and premium beach chairs. Hard to find a beach chair. Water park was fun - lines were not too long.

SLS and all of the hotels in Baha Mar are awesome. So much to do that it's almost overwhelming (in a good way). Our room was amazing (one bedroom residence). We had a fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer in the kitchen. 3 balconies (you can't sit on them, they are small). Service is great, people are very nice. Only things to watch out for: 1. Everything is extremely expensive (example- 8oz bottle of sunscreen was $40, a plate of pasta in the room was $50 w/tip), so be prepared. 2. Also no stores or bank machines in Baha Mar take discover (this is a tip for folks with Capitol One bank card) or Amex, so you need to have a lot of cash or MC if you aren't charging the room (we ate lunch before our room was ready and had to end up paying $150 in cash). 3. Lastly, the pool chairs fill up early in the morning so if you want to sit by the pool you have to hustle to get a seat.

Wildly expensive for what it is. We had a suite room, and began with switching rooms. The tub in our first room didnt work, there was blood on the bathroom walls, the lock fell off the door, we found a used blunt on the balcony, and one of the bathroom lights didnt work. We had a room closest to the lobby, which had loud music all the time. We had a two-year old, so even if the room was perfect we would have likely tried to move rooms. I'm not sure why they would book a toddler in that room. The staff was helpful in switching, which we did the following day.
The new room was better, but still had problems. The bathrooms in both were just dirty. The corners of the bathrooms and the grout/caulking were gross.
The balconies...oh boy, it was hard to even go out. You'd step outside and the bottoms of your feet were instantly black. I'm not sure theyve ever cleaned the floor or chairs out there. This was a two room sample size of these issues. Our dryer in the room barely worked.
The casino, bars, pools, beach were all very nice. The restaurants were good too, though very expensive. It feels like they are trying to be an upscale resort, but don't have the basics down. Cleanliness and service should be number 1, but they arent. At half the price, we would probably go back, but never again for what it is now.

We had a great time at SLS! The amenities are great with lots of cocktail/restaurant options.
One thing to note is the restaurant staff isn't the friendliest notably Cleo which I was forewarned about prior to booking, so we moved our reso to Satsuya. We also dined at Leola, the food was very mediocre and we got sick from their crab pasta.
The rooms are a decent size, our shower door didn't work (other reviews also stated this).
Other than that we loved the Bungalow pool, Skybar, Rosewood cocktail bars and food trucks/amenities near the beach!
Make reservations ahead of time, bring a refillable water bottle and keep in mind this isn't an all inclusive

Totally regret booking SLS. As Europeans we had no idea about Spring break or the behaviour of the unruly American teenagers that were drunk and and falling around the hallways all night keeping everyone awake. The first room we had was awful, tiny bathroom (with see thru toilet door!) no wardrobe and generally in poor condition. After complaining we were moved to a better room with closet space and proper bathroom (still transparent toilet door). If you want to use a sun lounger with a cushion it’s an extra £100 a day each. If you want to use the nicer more adult friendly beach club area it’s an additional £175 a day but you have no chance as it’s booked three months in advance. Dont forget to budget for an additional £100 day resort taxes. We normally stay at The Cove (fully booked) and ended up here. Never ever again The loungers are so closely packed on the beach there is not an inch of space between them. Not enough breakfast options. Overall expensively poor.

Overpriced and overrated for what we got. Food is very expensive at the hotel. We liked the food at Katsuya and Leora the most. Pizza Lab good too. A slice of pizza is $13. Service was usually not great anywhere - staff were not helpful and often grumpy. I think management should try giving them more autonomy and pay to boost morale. Staff were often unable to think outside the box, probably because of the work culture. We complained to management and did have one of our dinners credited so that was nice. SLS shares the beach with Hyatt so the chairs are the same. Hyatt next door is perfect for anyone with kids btw. The lobby and casino at SLS are freezing, and the weather outside was windy, so we all got sick when coming from the pool. Overall I don’t think I’d come back to the Bahamas unless it was a last minute trip with guaranteed hot weather. Apparently Dec-April is cold.

Overall the staff was helpful and wonderful. Very hospitable. It’s a clean hotel, lots to do if you’re into casinos and bars. The fitness center is amazing as is the jazz club. The restaurants are just good, not great especially for the cost. Stay away from Cleo. Terrible service, food was mediocre and server tried to pass off an obviously open bottle of water as brand new. It’s very, very loud, filled with lots of very young kids and it’s expensive relative to other Caribbean islands and resorts. If you have children, it may be a nice place to go but, sitting next to a family with screaming children while paying for an over-priced dinner is not our jam.

For such a high end hotel, it had horrible service and the shower in our suite smelled like mold. Restaurants had poor service, all of them. My wife was yelled at not to sit at a certain table. It was the pizza and ice cream restaurant downstairs. Also the restaurants we attended never came to us for water or drinks to be filled or to ask how are meal was. We would never come back.

Room was not good. Beds were missing a sheet, so it had a fitted sheet and comforter only. Then sheets had some stains. Safe did not work. The floor was dirty, also no fans in bathroom.

Then Getting seats by the pool is impossible. I guess for what it costs, you are not getting what you pay for.

This resort is absolutely amazing. It was so luxurious and they have something for everyone. The beverages, food, entertainment and activities were all fantastic. The food and drinks are very expensive, but everything was absolutely delicious, so one could justify the cost. I would definitely recommend this so a couples vacation or a family vacation.

SLS is great. Hotel is clean and service is great. The only issue I’d say is that rooms are super small. A 2 queen bed ocean view room for 2 adults had zero space in the bathroom for any toiletries. Felt very cramped. I also paid for an ocean view room but I only got a “partial” view with half a balcony. I didn’t know there were options to select a “full ocean view”!
Also, so many kids and infants! There were barely any adults!

Once you arrive, it seems they have you! Prices are higher than Las Vegas strip! If you’re looking for a relaxing child free holiday-stay away! Restaurant food is mediocre and they are all off a casino gambling floor which sucks more money out of your wallet! The only place that accepts cash is the casino! Chairs at the pool are also extra costs!

We travel every year to a new sunny destination and this one will not be visited again and I will be letting friends know of the incredible costs and price gouging!!! Not 1 person we spoke to was happy about this place aside from the grounds!

I’m not typically a reviewer but this one was super disappointing, I felt I had to say something! 1 week-$9,000! King size room and we didn’t eat very much!

The room was small and not very comfortable. There was a clear lack of staff, with no service at the pool or beach areas and no personnel available to guide or assist us.

The pool service was horrible especially for the prices I was paying for drinks and bottles.

At check-in, the front desk offered us champagne for our last night, but it was never delivered and was simply forgotten. Front desk apologized for not sending it admitting to have forgotten.

Our dinner reservations were also not made as promised.

Overall, the service was very poor, and the hostesses at all the restaurants were rude and unwelcoming.

This experience was disappointing and did not meet expectations.

Everything was good except the tiny room with no bathroom door. Room 1004. Very hard for a couple with an adult child.

The room was dirty and dated. Staff at the restaurants were slow and didn’t seem to know the menus or food options. The service charge has disincentivized good service. The front desk and concierge staff were the only saving grace.
