Our room was beautiful and very comfortable! The cleaning staff did a daily clean and we had plenty of towels. Our mini fridge was stocked as we requested, and all the staff from restaurant servers to bar tenders were very friendly. Although the weather was windy and cloudy throughout or stay, we enjoyed celebrating our anniversary with our first visit to an all inclusive resort. We missed our favorite wine, Pinot Noir and favorite vodka, Grey Goose, but made due with what was offered. The food was good, and definitely excellent at Butches Chop House and Le Plume. We lost enjoyed the sushi bar our first night.

The food was pretty terrible. Butlers are not useful at all other than getting your seats at your preferred pool. Even then someone else just moved our stuff and took our seats and the butler wouldn’t make them give it back. The butlers would call us incessantly even waking us up on the morning for basic questions that could easily have waited or been a text. They also give you an android phone you have to carry around instead of just doing WhatsApp or something less inconvenient.

Only real positives are they poor good drinks and the island is very nice. Otherwise overpriced and wouldn’t go back. + bugs in our room.

Food is not very good and made my wife and a handful of others on our trip very sick. The staff seems unmotivated and sometimes unfriendly but Tevin Kevin and Willis were the real highlights on our trip! Great guys and great service with them. The hotel itself is okay, rooms were spacious but could be kept better. Gym was great with a great view. Overall I don’t think it’s quite worth the price but with some small adjustments could be the 5 star hotel they claim to be!

Staff go above and beyond to make you feel happy. Restaurants in the evening are excellent buffet could have more choice but everything is fresh .

Our West Bay room smelled damp/musty so we were surprised to read that the resort had been upgraded as recently as 2022 (we heard another couple mention the same smell in their room too).

The low-light of the trip was when we got trapped in the elevator - a lift that had been put back in service from a couple of days out of service already. With the cart stuck halfway in-between floors, a maintenance team member attended quickly (kudos) but then forcing the doors open (and having to fight to hold them there as they kept trying to close on us) whilst we had to vault out in what was a very unsafe situation (lucky we are young/fit enough to do so quickly but that is not the point). There is clearly a distinct lack of management processes to account for such customer incidents as there was no follow-up with us to address it even after we later decided to mention it to concierge (who informed management at the time) and despite us supposedly being a \"Tender Loving Care\" room (our rep had no knowledge of the incident a few nights later when they made first contact on night 7 of 9). We're generally pretty low-profile / low maintenance so don't encourage much attention but this feels like an incident that would be addressed at a high-end resort that values it's guests, especially when we were celebrating our engagement! Unsurprisingly we got our steps in using the stairs up and down to the 4th floor every day after that!

Beautiful hotel with all the amenities you could ever want.
The food in the restaurants was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the different dining experiences. Le Plume & Gordon’s on the pier were standout favourites.
Staff were friendly and the small private island was incredible.
Our only criticism is that the drinks (alcoholic) were made so strong they were undrinkable. For such a beautiful place, with such quality food and resort life this did let it down a little.

This was our first time staying at a Sandal's and it will be our last. We had to chase down room service staff multiple times for toilet paper, wash clothes and coffee refills because they would clean the room but not restock it. They never took the dirty towels or glasses when cleaning the room.

They should not say they have top self liquor, because they do not !!! If we wanted anything other then the house wine we had to pay $25 a glass at minimum.

We could never get a chair at the beach or the pool. Maybe if we wanted to go down at midnight to stake one out we would have some luck. We were told by fellow guest that the only way to get chairs at beach or pool was to have a butler. Sad, we paid $7000 for this trip ...you want me to pay more to get a pool side chair. Rediculous.

The beach area is tiny, we made an attempt at their private island. We tried to get a cocktail before we waited for the 3:30 boat back (last one was at 4 pm) we were told the bar closed early because the staff had to take the same boat we did, so everything was closed up. So we went to wati for the boat, when it got there staff got first privledge over all the guests, and we could not get on because that made th boat full. Total BS.

We did take advantage of diving each day so we would have something to do. I do have to say the Dive shop employees were amazing. We did enjoy them.

Its really sad the way this place is ran. It is NOTHING like what you see in the commercials.

The food was good and the private island was very nice. Shows at nights were lacking. Overall experience was just ok. I wouldn’t return to this property.

I was disappointed with my stay at Sandals Royal Bahamian. The staff did not come across as friendly or welcoming, which set the tone for the trip. Restaurant reservations were nearly impossible to get at a reasonable time, leaving us with very limited options. It also felt like unless you booked a butler room, you were treated as a lower priority, which really took away from the overall experience. For the price and reputation, I expected much better service and availability. Oceanfront view was not as advertised. It was more a partial view than oceanfront. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Sandals Royal Bahamian or any other Sandals resorts for that matter. The only shining stars of our trip were the athletic team of Kevin and Alycia. They were awesome!

My wife and I chose Sandals Bahamas to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. Overall, it was a good trip with some clear highlights — but also a few disappointments.

Positives: The staff were consistently kind, warm, and welcoming, which really made the trip enjoyable. The resort offered several restaurants, and the ones requiring reservations had noticeably better variety and quality than the no-reservation options. We also appreciated moments of peace and quiet, some solid entertainment, and smooth airport transportation.

Negatives: The bed was extremely firm and uncomfortable. I requested a pillow top on day one, but it was never delivered during our four-night stay. Our “pool and beach view” was completely blocked by trees. Renovations were underway, which created some eyesores. Breakfast was underwhelming, with limited variety. Cats roaming the property were uncomfortable for us, and the outdated card key system was inconvenient — I lost mine twice. Lastly, there were no authentic Bahamian food options, which felt like a missed opportunity.

Overall: We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the reservation-only restaurants, but bed comfort, blocked views, and renovations diminished the “luxury” feel. We might return after renovations are complete, beds are improved, and local food is added to the menu.

From the moment we arrived, until our day of departure, the customer service, excellent professionalism, very responsive housekeeping, tasty restaurants, and Vegas-style entertainment was awesome!! Jonathan, our Concierge, was very friendly and helpful in scheduling our restaurant appointments and off-site activities for the entire week, including getting “butler service” for our private cabana on Sandal’s beautiful white sandy beach area.

staff was very rude and they could care less about you being there they closed the main pool and then closed a main entrance to the hotel which should have been done during off hours (at night) i am not and will not ever go to a sandals company again . we wanted dessert one niight went into a restrauunt and was given the most weirest look and the lady at the desk just walked away from us really??
this was our first time at a sandals and never again. Breakfast was all the same every day!!!t at all restraunts
we are on vacation would have been nice to have different items on the bar. we loved the weather there but the holel was old looking and carpet was disgusting,i really hope they get it together and offer a better vacation spot but i dont see it

everytime we asked a question we were a bother to that person this is just not right to the people there on vacation
there was no communtion of things going on during the day. we had to ask about dinners.... the day of departure things like that just should be communicated to the people there ,,,, really messed up some how

We were generally disappointed with our stay. We were given the wrong wrong when we arrived and our room had the names of the wrong guests, housekeeping had left behind their supplies and treats for a different couple were placed on our room. The staff were generally disengaged, we had to wait for service each day at the breakfast buffets, there was a water spill in the restaurant at breakfast and flies around the food. We generally felt like the property was run down and not worth the price, the coffee machines were down throughout our stay. The daily housekeeping was minimal, we did not get towel refills. The exceptions were at the island and certain restaurants. The service and experience at Queen pearl, the hibachi restaurant, steak house (Deshaun was our server), and generally the service on the boat ride and the private island were excellent.

The location was perfect and the property was beautifully maintained. I imagine that it takes a lot of individuals to successfully coordinate and organize a resort of its size. From the shuttle to and from the airport, the ease of checkin, and perfectly manicured grounds, they made it look seemless. This was our first Sandals vacation and it was a great one.
We enjoyed it enough to book another one for Barbados next April while we were there. The food was good for the most part. The seafood restaurant was under renovation while we were there which took over the lunch and dinner buffet unfortunately. Pool chair saving started at the ridiculous times between 5am-6am between the alarm setters and butlers who were first to swipe them with the room coolers. Kind of annoying but as long as we could grab one for our things we enjoyed being in the pool for the most part. Don’t expect a chair at the quiet pool at all unless you have a butler. Music from the dj at the LOUD pool plays the music so loud at times that you can’t have a conversation or just relax let alone be able to communicate with a bar tender at the pool bar so they screw up loads of drinks which really isn’t their fault with how loud they blast the music in these poor bartenders ears. Staff was very nice overall but don’t expect anything in a hurry cause they’re definitely on island time but so were we so life goes on. Their piece of a private island across the way (5 min. boat ride from their own pier) is a good grab for a half day or so with a pool, a calm, clean beach and water and a restaurant with a pool bar and patio bar as well. The lack of children at the resort is worth its weight in gold between all activities and restaurants. That alone is probably worth sticking to the Sandals business model. Book it.

What I like:
I would like to give a shoutout to Jackie and Felecia from Kanoo. Rose from food truck. Ricardo, Ace, Joe and Nicer from Soy.
The private island and all their staff are excellent.

What I don’t like:
1. I checked out on 3/22/25 but the temporary $400 temp hold during check in hasn’t been reversed and it’s already 3/31/25. I already called to make sure I don’t get charged for anything I shouldn’t have. Customer service ensured that I wouldn’t be charged but hasn’t been reversed in my card.
2. Some of the staff are not nice and are sometimes rude.
3. Some of the food items run out too early and some bars/ food trucks close earlier than what is in the flyer. They are supposed to be open at the 11pm but they say they are closed at 10:30pm.
4. I called front desk to order refill water and sodas from mini fridge but nothing came until we checked out.
5. It’s hard to schedule appointments for restaurants. Culinary dept does not answer and we had to walk to the desk to schedule. It’s unacceptable.
6. Rice is not served in the restaurant and has to be requested which is very unusual.

Half the staff was unfriendly and condescending. Rooms were unclean. We were wiping the same area in on our counter everyday, came to find out it was roach droppings. Tried to speak with management they wouldn’t speak with us. Head of housekeeping came to speak with us and she was of no help. Basically she blamed us for not telling them sooner. We had to google what it was after the second day. Room was not cleaned on a daily basis. Hotel, pools and restaurants were older and unkept

We’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and Sandals Royal Bahamian was a mixed experience. The included airport transportation was convenient and stress-free. Upon arrival, we checked in early and were encouraged to explore the grounds while waiting for our room, which was nice.

However, the beach lounger situation was extremely frustrating. We were told loungers were \"first come, first serve,\" but when we woke up at 6 AM to reserve one, they were already taken. We later discovered the “butler elite” guests had their butlers place old books down the night before, later replacing them with coolers. Despite complaining to concierge, nothing changed. This felt incredibly unfair and unlike any other resort we’ve visited.

As for the food, the food trucks were good, and I enjoyed the chicken pesto panini at Calico and the eggs Benedict at the French restaurant. The French fries were consistently good, but most of the food was dry and underwhelming.

The beach itself was also smaller than expected, so don’t let the photos fool you. While the staff was friendly, the overall experience did not match the luxury Sandals brand we were promised. For the price, we expected much more, especially in terms of fairness and food quality.

I just returned from the Sandals in Bahamas. I arrived on Wednesday evening 12/11 and left Monday morning 12/16. Despite the Expedia and Trip Advisor reviews, I still decided to take a chance on this resort, as I’ve always wanted to stay at a Sandals.

First off, the private island was the main reason I booked this hotel and it was closed the entire time. This was extremely disheartening. The smell on the 5th floor hallway in the East Bay building was gut wrenching. I took the stairs a few times and saw several (15 to 20) room service plates/trays stacked. This could be causing the cockroach issue. Yes - I saw cockroaches in the Queens Pearl Bar/Restaurant. In addition, pools and jacuzzis were cold and game room was super hot.

Overall, my first Sandals experience was disappointing and not what I anticipated to say the least.

The property is close to the airport and the beach and property itself was nice. The major con of this resort is how it is managed and the customer service. We were only there for 3 nights and could not get reservations at the restaurants The check in process was extremely slow. Service at the restaurants and in general was sub par. As a small example, the water in our room was not restocked and I had to call 4 times before someone brought water. The best run operation at the resort was the food trucks. They were fast, friendly and offered great customer service. Other than the food trucks, service was extremely slow and the staff seemed extremely unhappy.

I am usually not one to write a review, but I felt it necessary to take the time in this case.

I am well traveled and have been to dozens of all inclusive in a variety of countries. While this resort was clean, the transportation to the resort was seamless, the \"service\" was terrible.

I can understand \"island time\" and I was never in a rush whatsoever, but when it takes 30-45 min for someone to acknowledge and seat you in a half empty restaurant there is a problem. This happened 2 of 3 evenings, and 2 of 3 lunch times.

When you ask the concierge face to face for a bottle of white wine for the room and they say not a problem every single time and it never shows up ever, there is an issue.

The Beach = was full of seaweed

The Entertainment = Was the worst I've ever experienced at a resort.

The Service: Was worst I ever experienced at a resort.

The Drinks: Were good, and not watered down. So that was a positive.

For roughly $1200.00 CAN / Night I expected more from this resort that's for sure. I am glad we were only stuck there for 3 nights and not a week.

We did enjoy the deep pools, poolside cocktails, beach swimming, spa, seafood and steak, the view, transfer to/from airport and the staff members were friendly, sometimes crossing the line.
The property felt like it needed updating. Hot tubs differed in temperatures, the quiet pool was cold and not enough side tables for drinks. Elevator electrical panels were open (West Side), some walls in restaurants needed cleaning, and there was chipped table wear including milk jugs etc. and we got a cracked poolside table.
Our room needed a proper clean. Considerable hair on the floor, bathrobe and in the bedding (the bedding was clean). One of the towels had a hole in it. Stains on the kitchen walls and floor. Broken kettle. We had a young cockroach visit the bathroom. Another visit from an insect in a restaurant cooking space. At one restaurant we had to move tables because I was being dripped on and we discovered a large hole in the extractor fan. Other issues included being locked out of my room for 10 minutes because the batteries had failed and identifying a safety issue (raised with management and then immediately delegated) which the staff member failed to rectify so I removed the safety issue from the outside shower.
The Butler Service was disappointing. It was rare to get exactly what we ordered without an issue. The pre arrival survey was mostly ignored.
Offered a free night with the condition of an NDA and not to post a review. We declined.

My husband and I spent 3 nights here in celebration of my 40th birthday. The grounds were lovely, as was our room. We had a wonderful view of the ocean! I also liked that everything on the resort was easily accessible. The AC unit was great and kept the room cool and comfortable. The mini bar included wine, soda, juice, water and tea/coffee. The bed was spacious and very comfortable.

Upon entering our room, we noticed that we were only given 1 washcloth. We made multiple requests to the front desk but didn't receive additional washcloths until the following day.
We encountered a few issues with the water in the room.It would shut off during our showers, especially during the morning hours. We also experienced some Wi-Fi connectivity issues which the staff was able to resolve in a day.

I also had a small issue securing lounge chairs with umbrellas on the beach. It seemed as though all of the lounges with umbrellas were reserved for the guests with butler service. There should be more lounge chairs with umbrellas available for all guests.

One of my favorite features was the food trucks, one of which had fresh cookies daily. I loved the oatmeal raisin ones!

Overall, the staff was friendly, the food and drinks were good and we enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay here! My only complaint is that there aren’t enough seats around the pool area and if you do want chairs, you need to wake up very early to snag them before others start to save them for themselves for later. Everyone was super friendly, the food was delicious and very convenient. Beautiful place to stay with a lot of options!

Overall, the property was nice, and the rooms were excellent accommodations. However, the staff was really hit and miss. Some were fantastic, and some were terrible. The bartenders at the pool bars often ignored guest and you could wait for minutes to get any service at all. We were with a group and one afternoon went to an outdoor lunch spot....we moved a couple of tables together and they were extremely rude telling us to leave. The piano bar was fun.

Although it is an all inclusive resort make your reservations for dinner before arrival. We couldnt get into the best places upon arrival due to being booked solid.
Room service was non existent for our room even though we was suppose to have it daily.
We had to ask staff for towels daily. In a 4 night stay they never came in to even empty our garbage.
Also if your not in a butler room get to the pool early because most chairs are reserved for butler room or higher guests.
I can say the staff was helpful with directions etc during our stay.
Had to call in room dining several times to get them to finally answer the phone and take our orders, then missed dinner items every time.
Over all a less than grand adventure that we saved all year to enjoy.

Great staff but butlers are assigned to many guess at once which interfered with their availability room was much smaller than expected for price with the exception of the private pool but also with very basic amenities such as no microwave no shower door to close no smart tv which means no access to streaming services and charge outrageous prices to rent out of date movies hopefully when I travel to other locations I have a better experience

We really enjoyed our stay! The activities offered are great and the shopping trip that you can add on was a great experience. The resort was beautiful and majority of the staff were very friendly. We wish the resort had an ATM due to vendors coming in and the ATM across the street not accepting our card issuers. We found two small cockroaches in the bathroom during our stay so just be careful so you don’t bring any home. Overall an amazing trip and will be booking another Sandals in the future!

The property was absolutely stunning and gorgeous! It was so well kept! Absolutely everyone, no matter what their job was there ,was extremely friendly and kind and willing to do anything they could to make your stay great! The food in every restaurant we ate at was absolutely delicious and servedso beautifully. No matter who served us they were so kind! We were so impressed and we had such a good time. We were there for five days! We were never bored even just meeting someone in the hall, they would say good morning or good evening or can I do anything for you Love the fact that there was a quiet pool and another pool if you wanted more action. Love the fact that it was only 21 and older so you didn’t have to listen to kids. The variety of foods were outstanding and every restaurant was different! I cannot say enough good things about Sandals!!!! They had shows at night that were so entertaining! Everything was just gorgeous! They went out of your way to set things up for you and make everything so easy so you didn’t have to do a thing! They treated us like a king and a queen! Whatever you wanted even if it was more work for them to go get, they did it for you!!! It was the most perfect vacation place we have ever been to! From the resort itself to everyone that worked there to the restaurants to the shopping to the grounds to the wonderful rooms, to the ability to take you to another part of the island. I absolutely highly highly recommend this resort!!!!!

Balls of hair in the carpet, that was never removed after addressing it 3 times. Found cockroaches behind the fridge. Addressed with manager. Nothing was done except spraying the room. Did not provide us with a different room or any accommodation. Told us that him and the director will see us before we leave...never saw them!

We loved the organization. From the service at the airport office, the transportation, the handling of our luggage and the service at check in - check out. We loved the food, the facilities, the pools, the sea. The only thing that was perhaps missing was having someone who speaks Spanish. Luckily we found an intern named Alan who spoke Spanish and helped us a lot. Although the staff who attended to us did not speak Spanish, they made a great effort to understand us and for us to understand them, but there are always some details, especially when one has just arrived that one likes to hear in their own language so as not to miss anything. Once one is enjoying the services of the resort it is easier to make oneself understood. For the rest, except for a waitress who surely got nervous because she did not understand us, everything was excellent. This resort is excellent for couples or groups of friends looking for a quiet and pleasant time.

Great facilities…. Beautiful and well kept. Restaurants had very good food. Overall service by the staff was good, but not great…. They were all very cordial, but didn’t go above and beyond…. Except for our departure…. We were early for our shuttle so the staff offered to have us dropped in on a new Rolls Royce…. It was excellent and the lady that made the arrangements would not accept a tip…. This left a great lasting impression…. I will be returning.

The property is very clean to include the hotel rooms. Good products are provided in the bathrooms. And unlike other all inclusives you include the room beverages. That's a plus. And the employees are absolutely wonderful and go out of their way yo make things right. We really enjoyed ourselves.
