Les photos correspondent à la réalité... L'hôtel lui-même est très bien, mais il est situé dans un quartier extrêmement commercial et bruyant. C'est là que les navires de croisière accostent pour la journée avec leur hordes de jeunes américains assoiffés et en sandales. Au moins, les soirées sont calmes puisque tout le monde est rembarqué.

À distance de marche d'un excellent resto.

Le grand attrait réside paradoxalement dans le ballet quotidien des immenses navires de croisière qui passent littéralement sous les fenêtres de l'hôtel, tournoient sur eux-mêmes, et accostent ou repartent. Un véritable spectacle, à admirer pour un jour ou deux.

This was a great location. Close to everything that you might need for downtown. My only feedback is that we called the front desk a few times, they were friendly but not helpful. We asked for change , they only had for a $20. We asked about water activities in the area and they also could. It help.

This property was beyond exceptional and breathtaking. As far as the architecture, the design and amenities they are provided chef’s kiss. The staff was very helpful throughout our stay, especially with the last-minute changes that we required for move-in from the property that we were initially booked to adding an additional day. The rooms were not only decorated beautifully, but you could tell they were properly maintained. We love that there was a tub option and a standing shower along with space for everything that both of us had not to mention the smell of the hotel was delicious. I’ll post a video. We also love that the beach was literally in their backyard in the pool area was amazing. They even had a cigar lounge area outside on the property. There was a fitness facility which we didn’t use but they also offered complementary yoga as long as you scheduled it.

This is such a beautiful property combined with a lot of history. The beach is very private as it stated in the original description, as well as clean and not overly crowded in comparison to other beaches/hotels close by. The atmosphere is also very relaxing. My only additional requests would be for the pool bar to be open past 5 pm. I would have also liked to have additional food options - unfortunately the sushi spot is only Open from Tuesday - Saturday. It’s also within walking distance of a lot of different shops, etc. The price was right for this spot.

Beautiful building, clean rooms with everything one needs. Good evening entertainment and a nice beach.
We felt that the property is underutilized, the grand hotel lobby looks as though it ought to have a grand piano and serve afternoon tea - it is totally underutilized.
Same goes for the outside lovely grounds. The outside bar does not open until 10.30 am and is closed in the evening. People would love to set outside, perhaps have a guitarist and enjoy cocktails and a view sad to see no-one around.

It was a wonderful stay for my birthday. We enjoyed the beautiful beach and watching the cruise ships pass by as they left their port.

For the price we paid, I was expecting a lot more.

1st night, we had to move rooms from our King room to a Queen Room because there was a cockroach in our bathroom. When I called the front desk about the incident, they just laughed. I asked if we could change rooms and they said they only had Queen Rooms available. When asked for sanitizing wipes to sanitize our stuff that had been ear the roach, they would not offer them.

The next day we had to buy our own tooth brushes new and go out of our way to clean our stuff. This made for a huge inconvenience.

The beach was not well kept. Garbage on the sand. The ocean was the best part. No one helps you even put up a beach umbrella.

Had the worst and most expensive drinks at the hotel. No pina coladas and we were send on a goose chase to find out they don't serve them.

To top it all off, I even got stung by a bee at the pool!

We loved the Bahamas, but as far as our stay, I would not recommend this hotel.

Location is great, close to all the major spots if needed. Close to cruise port and all that has available. We stayed with our 2 kids. Room was great, beds ok and air con very good. Coffee shop opens at 7am and pools and private beach is open 24/7. Food is great. It’s prime spot for watching the cruise ships come and go too. All in all a great stay with some major history attached. Loved it!

Everyone except Danaja at the front desk, along with the valet, pool attendants, and outside bar staff, came across as dismissive and unhelpful. Danaja was the only person who showed genuine professionalism and hospitality.

Check-in was supposed to be at 4 PM. I arrived a few minutes early after traveling since 3 AM and was told my room wasn’t ready and that no other rooms were available either. We ended up changing into pool attire in the lobby restroom while waiting. I didn’t receive the email saying the room was ready until 5:03 PM, and the wristbands didn’t even work to access the room until after that.

The frustrating part was checkout. I requested a late checkout and was immediately denied because “other guests were checking in.” When I pointed out that I was also delayed checking in because my room wasn’t ready, staff argued with me as if it never happened. Based on the condition of the room when we entered, it definitely didn’t seem like rooms required the full 11 AM–4 PM turnaround time.

I was also charged for valet even though I never used valet service, never handed over my keys, and moved my own rental car every time. The issue wasn’t the charge itself — it was the poor communication and lack of transparency.

The location is great, but honestly that’s the only reason I’d consider staying here again.

On an island with giant all-inclusive mega-resorts, British Colonial was a wonderful throwback hotel. It was clean and quiet with an understated elegance, and easily walkable to downtown and a number of restaurants. Staff was helpful and friendly, without being intrusive. Hotel has a nice private beach and pool area. It is located near the port, so you can see the cruise ships sail in and out of the harbor, a rather impressive sight.

They charge gratuity automatically which isn’t uncommon in Nassau. However, it seems that because the staff knows they’re getting tips regardless, they don’t bother being attentive. If I pay auto-gratuity, I expect the pool staff at the pool bar/restaurant to bring me my order. Instead, they all stood around talking to each other and forgot about my food until I went up and asked for it. By that time, it was cold.

When I stopped by the sushi spot near the lobby at 9:38pm, the waitress said they close the kitchen at 9:30pm, but I can order to go. She rushed me to order and barely gave me a minute to look over the menu. For how expensive these places are, service is SERIOUSLY lacking…

The hotel itself is gorgeous, but the restaurants are outrageously expensive with terrible service.

Good base location. Pretty hotel lobby. Best part was the private beach. Nice little beach, with water pedal bikes you can borrow. Saw sea turtles and cool fish while on the bikes. the only complaint is that more chairs/umbrellas should be made available, even if for sale, we could never find any. Our room phone did not work and was never fixed and there was a weird fishy smell on our side of the hotel (it was not us lol), had to keep the windows open to air it out.

It was absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one charging guests for a clean and comfortable stay.

Our trip was amazing and the property was beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always quick to help whenever we needed anything. The only issue we experienced was that wash cloths were not consistently replaced during housekeeping. We had to request them multiple times throughout our stay, although they were always delivered to our room quickly once requested. Overall, we still had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed our stay.

Definitely a hidden gem. Views are immaculate. Lots of amenities. You literally don't have to leave the resort if you choose not to, but if you do. you're close to downtown with lots of restaurants and shopping choices. We will definitely visit again.

Had breakfast buffet at the market restaurant,coffee is 5 out of 10 for flavor, egg station was good but i dont think its worth $35 each person. We got our bill and 15% tip was not shown to us until we got the final bill after we added another 20% tip. Talked to the manager and nobody even apologized. Not sure thats how they do their gratuity?!
But it was a relaxing stay!

When we first checked in we were put in a room that was not supposed to be given. It was filthy and was stripped down, no fitted sheet, no hairdryer, no coffee maker, iron, ironing board. The floor was filthy. We talked to the manager and she put us into a nicer room that was clean with everything it should have. We were moved to that room later in the second day of our stay. The property and staff were both very nice and accommodating.

The British Colonial was a great place to stay in Nassau. Small but pristine beach, good location for seeing the local attractions and downtown area. Pool area is beautiful. There were issues with the toilet in the original room we checked into. It was made for a midget. The seat was so low to the floor that it was unusable. Management WAS helpful in locating another room for us, however, this room was not properly
stocked with toilet paper, wash cloths, hand towels or any type of cabinet in the bathroom to place toiletries on. THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE SAFE. It was taken care of however.

Astronomical prices for an average hotel. The bathroom wasn't super clean and it was super uncomfortable. What is worst that hidden fees were held from my account without my authorization or any logic behind it. We are talking about almost $400 held in between 2 days besides with no prior communication or explanation. The people at the front desk were dismissive. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here.

Staff was very nice. They have food options , i hate how expensive it was but that was for all of the food all over the island. Nice pool, and good view of the beach. The only thing i did not like was the traffic is busier during the day due to the cruise ships and them being able to buy day passes to use the beach …. but oh well. it was not horrible but more people when the cruise ships come in for sure. the housekeepers remember my name which was cool and when they saw me they said good morning miss taylor , which shows that they pay attention. the food in the hotel is also good food so it was worth the price in my opinion.

you do also have to pay for parking it is 35$ a day. mcdonald’s and dairy queen right across the street if you want faster cheaper food option. they do a 400$ hold on your card also for food and drinks. if you do not use it you’ll get it back. i think i had to pay extra for each day i had room service. not 100% sure on that. there is a lot of different categories on the receipt.

Overall we had a nice stay. Spacious room with large bathroom. Had signed up for an ocean view king with a balcony … which we had. But you had to be standing to see the water from both due to high windows in the bedroom and a wall around the deck. Oftentimes long waits at the front desk and mixed messages depending on who you spoke with. Our daughter, son-in-law, and 5 and 7 year olds visited the hotel from their cruise ship one day, which happened to a coincidence. A day ahead I asked the front desk what the charge would be, as we knew the hotel charges for non-registered guests to use their beach and pool. We were told that there would not be a charge for us because we were staying at the property and guest passes would be issued for them. The morning before their arrival, I went to the front desk to pick up these passes and was told by the associate on duty that this was an error and that I would be charged. I was then directed to the woman at the gift shop who would take care of these passes. She indicated that children under 12 years old would be free. She then proceeded to take me and three other people out to a small office by the beach to have the person there handle the billing for the passes. I understood, of course, that the hotel must control use of their beach facilities due to the number of cruise ships arriving daily at the nearby docks. I ended up paying for two adults and two children. A disappointing mess for certain. Food and service very good overall.

We had a standard room, queen bed. The room was quaint with a large bathroom. Very clean, unfortunately no balcony but the windows did open.

The hotel is absolutely stunning (and if you’re an OG 007 fan, you’ll notice a few filming spots) it has a decent size pool and a lovely beach. We stayed from Thursday to Saturday and didn’t have any trouble securing a shaded chair, until Saturday afternoon, when it got busier.

Short walk to explore downtown and to Junkanoo Beach, we ate at the Salty Crab and the cracked conch was amazing! The beach was very busy as it was Sat and a lot of people from the cruise ships spend their day there.

Staff at the Colonial were so friendly! A huge perk was that we were able to store our bags for the day and still had access to their beach!

We’ve stayed in Nassau over 30 times and our first stay at British Colonial. Our check in experience was horrible with very poor customer service. Once we got to our room, we called for wine glasses to be sent up and they said they didn’t do that. We had to go to the bar. Other than that the rooms were great, the bar staff was excellent. Grounds are beautiful, beach and pools are great. Everything was very clean. Check out experience was quick and the different staff made all the difference. I believe it was just one bad apple, I wish I had gotten her name. We will stay here again and hopefully they’ll be more accommodating at the front desk.
