The pool, water features, and beach made the trip. The room was nice but didn't leave us with any wow feeling. Beach view was nice, but no wifi on the balcony. Having the kitchenette was essential given the atrocity of the food prices. Water tasted bad to drink and a 500ml bottle was $5usd, it was highway robbery, almost makes you wonder if the taste isn't improved purposefully so you have to buy the water from them at this crazy price. Luckily we could boil water in our rooms which got rid of the taste.

We have been for several years and the rooms in the reef are showing their age. The tvs, tech and furniture are all 20 years old…

The other thing for anyone to know is that the prices here are high and then 25%is automatically added for vat and 15%gratuity…

All that said- we keep coming back and the kids love it!!

The resort was gorgeous, clean and well-kept. The room was comfortable and clean and spacious. The ocean view from the 20th floor was amazing. The small kitchen amenities were excellent and served the purpose of most breakfasts for the family with a small fridge, microwave, cook top with frying pan and pot, blender and dishwasher. The staff were helpful and courteous and safety was never questioned.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooms were all well appointed and clean. The amenities were plenty to keep us and our 2 teenage boys occupied. Beaches were beautiful. The shuttle was not always timely, but they were free of charge. The restaurants were numerous, but the food was just OK at some of the restaurants we tried. Everything was very expensive, but its expected at an island resort. We would definitely return.

My main issue the entire stay was the room. My shower and toilet did not work properly the entire time for my stay, maintenance came 3 times trying to fix the issue and did not. Not being able to shower and have the toilet sound like it was overflowing was not ideal

Room was good....food was GREAT just ridiculoulsy expensive. Hotel was clever is being cashless so you dont have to lug cash around. And beaches are nice. The only thing that can suck as in the case of our trip is there isnt much to do if the weather sucks. We had two nice days but high wind on one and literally nothing to do but eat and drink. Other than that its a nice hotel and worth seing at least once although there are nicer beaches in the caribbean it was worth the quick weekend getaway

Very clean room and the staff has been excellent - interesting thing is that there’s much talk about Bahamar hotel amongst locals - I might have booked that hotel but Atlantis made their main photo on Expedia a very similar photo to bahamar main photo or perhaps it was the other way around - the ratings are better at the reef and the cove at Atlantis and I like that the reef has been amazing for room size and view - the age of the hotel and grounds is starting to show but the staff continues to go above and beyond - I’ll definitely be coming back!

Staff was excellent. For the price point of the stay and the cost of all food and options in the resort it was not worth it. Food was average at best and service at the restaurants was abysmal. Massage service was over twice the cost of our service we received in Mexico but nowhere near the same type of service. Massage service was not worth over $600. Bed was rock solid. Toilet was barely working in our room. Cabinets in our room were busted. Lighting in the rooms was extremely inadequate. Rooms are very loud. Can hear kids through the walls.

Our stay at The Reef at Atlantis was absolutely wonderful! The ocean-view room was incredibly comfortable with breathtaking views. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was felt and remained consistent throughout our entire stay. The mattress, pillows, and thoughtful room amenities truly made it feel like a home away from home. The lush, beautifully maintained grounds were a pleasure to walk through, and the shuttle service made getting to all the island adventures easy and convenient. We can’t wait to return! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

- shuttle service could be improved to run more shuttles at peak hours. This was probably the most hindering aspect of our trip by staying at Reef. It only made us decide to only stay at Royal if coming to Atlantis.

- buffet options. If it was possible, the menu was exactly the same as our last time. There was nothing new introduced. Would prefer more choices of Bahamian cuisines at buffet.

- Access to downtown, prices regarding cabs need to be revisited with the hotel and taxi services. To get to downtown and back is a$45 USD ride if you ride with 3 people, but reduces to $30 USD if only riding with 2 people. This needs to change - the presence of one more additional person or even 2- shouldn’t change the fair. It feels like we are just getting gauged.

Rooms were great. Wanted adjoined rooms and even though I chatted through the bot to request Atlantis was not aware. That was annoying. Staff was great. Food was incredibly expensive. Poseidon’s Table was not worth $400. Field trip was very good, shake shack was so fun with the aquarium. The pool and beach and water park were excellent. The extra tipping was a bit much. We were already getting hammered with the cost of food. I have already recommended Atlantis to family and friends.

We stayed at the Reef at Atlantis for 5 days and 4 nights. Overall the grounds were immaculate, the rooms were spacious, staff were very friendly, and the decor was impressive.

The downsides were that the waterpark was one of the main reasons we went, but every day only 3 of the slides were open. It would seem they couldn't get enough lifeguards to have all of the slides open which was fairly disappointing.

However, the \"lazy river\" is an engineering marvel and we were all blown away by the fun rapids sections, how extensive and long it was, and how well it ran.

Food is quite expensive at about 1.5x to 2x what you would expect in Canada for what you're getting.

The distance between places is also incredibly vast. Like it's fine overall, but if you're staying at the reef, but want to go to the main beach or the water park...try not to forget anything as it's a +1 km walk lol

We knew most of this going in (except for the non-running-water slides) so had reasonable expectations.

Overall, pretty solid resort, with friendly staff, but likely wouldn't go back mostly as the style and enormity of it isn't really our style.

Another great stay at Atlantis. 4th time for my wife and I. Kids really enjoyed it this time around as they were older and couldn’t stay out of water park. First time at The Reef and room was good. Enjoyed being able to do breakfast and lunch in house. Only recommendation is rooms are too dark and dreary. Need a remake and some modern looking tones.

We loved our stay. The beds were so comfortable, the sofa was so nice to lounge on and the room was clean and spacious. The purified water tastes off and the bottled water on the resort is atrociously priced but you can walk to a grocery store to get some normal tasting water. We liked all the walking but someone else might not like the distance to the other amenities. We loved that the Starbucks opened at 6am in the lobby of the reef. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we hope to go back.

The Reef is a great hotel and wider site layout very good, rooms a little tired and in house dining was really limited (not helpful as a single dad arriving with two children who become ill on flight over from London. Staff were great friendly and very helpful. Some things are always down to personal tastes but a proper beach bar area near Cascades would have been good or even better sign posting as the site is huge. These are minor niggles , we had a great time (when everyone was better )

We chose The Reef since this was our first time visiting Atlantis without kids—and it was the perfect choice! I loved the boutique feel of the lobby and the peaceful location. The Reef really gave us the best of both worlds: we could hop on the shuttle to the Royal and other areas of Atlantis for all the fun and excitement, but coming back at night was quiet and relaxing.

It truly felt like returning home to a private residence rather than a hotel. The atmosphere was calm, the staff were welcoming, and the overall vibe made it easy to unwind. If you’re looking for a more serene, residential-style experience while still enjoying everything Atlantis has to offer, I highly recommend staying at The Reef!

We had an issue when our son staying at the Royal got off the bus with us to run up to our room was not allowed to come in the building despite my presence. This was extremely embarrassing and angered myself wife and son, he had to walk back to his room. We will not return you need to work on your policies.

The stay, property and food was delicious at Atlantis. The lack of free entertainment (shows, live music etc) was a big bummer for us. There was nothing to do night to relax.
Way too much money was spent. $160 for a family of 4 to okay putt putt. The complimentary movies were not every night. There was just nothing to do for our family at night.

The only thing your resort needs is better signage to the beach. The Coral was such a big maze and until we found a staff person at 6:00 am so we could see the sunrise, we would of never found it until he told us to go thru the Lagoon Bar. We almost missed it. From the Royal, we had a hard time finding the entrance to the beach. Putting small signes every few stops on the ground will help more people. Thanks!

The room could do with some updates. The microwave didn’t work. The dishwasher wasn’t washed and emptied from the last guests. The balcony door was impossible to open. The lady checking us in said she would send up a bottle of wine for a birthday celebration and never did. All minor things. Overall the vacation was good. It was our second time visiting in 2 years. Atlantis is an awesome vacation. We went with our 9 year old son and it had something for everyone. It was a very quiet time of year. Some of the slides were not open. We did the pieces of 8 boat tour and I can’t say enough good things about it! It’s a must for anyone traveling to Bahamas.

Beautiful Stay at The Reef with Outstanding Service
We stayed at The Reef at Atlantis and overall had a wonderful time! The resort is beautiful, and our room was spacious and well-kept. The Reef is a bit removed from the main hub of activity—expect about a 10–15 minute walk to The Royal, or you can wait for the shuttle at the lobby (though sometimes the wait can be longer than the walk).

If you’re traveling with little ones (especially under 5), I’d recommend booking at The Royal since it’s much more convenient—restaurants, pools, and attractions are right there.

Toilet runs intermittently (requires a new flapper) .
The remote control for the TV did not work after 2 nd day in room .
Several knives missing from the knife block
Ice machine on flier 6 was out of order.
We ate in 9 restaurants, all were great.

Overall, it was a great experience! The atmosphere and amenities were excellent, and I would definitely rate it 10 stars if I could. The only downside was the staff at the bars—unfortunately, they came across as mostly unfriendly and a bit slow with service.

A few things to keep in mind for future guests:

You need to make reservations at the restaurants ahead of time if you don’t want to risk going hungry.

A 15% service fee is automatically added to everything. This is understandable, but because of it, staff don’t seem motivated...

This is a cashless property. We brought cash to avoid foreign transaction fees, but could only use it at the casino or in shops.

With friendlier service and better communication of policies, this place could easily be a perfect 10-star experience!

Atlantis is a beautiful hotel with a stunning beach, but the rooms are in serious need of an update.

The room we stayed in had a broken dishwasher that was never replaced during our stay. The kitchenware including pots, pans, and the toaster was in poor condition: scratched, rusty, and generally unusable. We requested replacements but were given items in the same dirty and worn-out state.

The furniture was outdated, and the sofa and chairs were in desperate need of new covers.

For a hotel charging over $1,000 per night, the room quality fell far short of expectations. While the beach and overall property are impressive, the condition of the accommodations was disappointing.
