It wasn’t a good view of the ocean seeing that the hotel is across the street, the trees were visible. The hotel needs a make over. The chair in my room was so filthy that I couldn’t sit on it. So they switched my room and that chair was filthy as well. My tub was leaking water that ran to the door. Not what I expected for a Marriott brand. I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member and I was very disappointed with this property. However the staff was outstanding, Crystal was very understanding of my complaints and was very pleasant.

Ordering food outside took upwards of 2 hours when nobody else was outside eating. Bathroom door in our bedroom wouldn’t close. No bath towels on arrival. No conditioner on arrival. Mop on top of the ceiling blocking some hole. Wish I didn’t pay $250 to stay here as 2 hours in itself was waiting on horrible service.

The staff are absolutely awesome. They’ll help with anything you ask him. The room was very clean. Everybody told me their name. I’m not good with names, but they always spoke when you walked by hey Alyson, how are you? They all remembered my name. I’m going back again in 2 1/2 three weeks staying there again that’ll be my third time there one time. I was there the first time I was there. They took care of me as I broke out with major poison ivy, I picked up the poison from it here in Ohio as soon as I got down there, I broke out in that heat, and they definitely took care of me. I’ve told many many many people when they go there and they fly to Nassau. Please stay there because it is a beautiful, beautiful establishment and the employees are wonderful. I have not eaten there by choice very picky eater but I’ve heard the food is very good. The bartenders are very nice. I’ve had some drinks there. I heard the chef is awesome. Just downright great desert.

Location: Fantastic spot, especially if it's your first time in the Bahamas.

Cleanliness: Housekeeping was on point.

Service Recovery: We had a major issue at check-in (Expedia sync error), but the receptionist handled it well and gave us a $70 voucher.

The \"Need to Know\":

Food: Order early! Kitchen service is slow (45 mins to an hour).

Amenities: Our room wasn't fully restocked with toiletries when we arrived (likely due to the rush), but they fixed it immediately.

Vibe: The property is a bit dated, but it works well for a base of operations.

Perfect for our spontaneous weekend trip from Toronto!

They didn't have a room available and said my name was on a list to be transferred to another hotel, which was several miles away at a crowded property with noisy vacationing families. It was 2 hours later before I was in a room at the alternate property. Between lack of sleep and now too great of a distance to walk the original two blocks as planned, I missed a critical in person meeting with my attorney the next morning,

Horriable experience. Our flight to Miami was delayed and once we landed in Miami, we missed the flight to Nassau and are stuck in Miami for the night. Called the hotel to explain and thry said sorry, have to pay full price $400 becuase we disnt cancle 48 hrs prior, WTH.
NEVER will use Marriott or Expedia again, complete money grab.

I have to say that the stay was very poor. The hotel is not in good shape and the PRICE was extortionate. Check in was late - they were all over the place.

Also my second stay a week later at Comfort Inn was also pretty bad.. email is probably good

Can someone get back to me to start a conversation on some kind of credit - do not expect a refund but the two experience were terrible.

The toilet run off and on, No water pressure at sink,the bathroom door squeaked terribly and loud, bathroom door didn’t close right, the entrance door had to be slammed to close. This is the room experience. The front desk staff was non attentive to guest.

Room was clean but general service was extremely slow. Staff didn’t have beach towels available often, and they often didn’t know when clean towels would be delivered. Breakfast was very poor and always the same food every day. Line for homelettes too long, and scrambled eggs were not made with real eggs. Baked good ran out quickly. I had to wait 15 minutes for clean plates to be brought to the buffet, on two occasions. Spoons were not always available. Tables had dirty plates for a long time, I often had to clear up the table from previous guests just to have a table for my family. Staff at desk was not enough for the number of people. Long lines even to just ask a question, get a new key card or towels.

Clean room and hotel, right across street from beach. Ok hotel for business purposes of this trip. Walking distance to downtown and shops, amd to local fish fry area with several spots to eat. Breakfast not included, but have a la carte options as well as a buffet (although that was pricey for what it was) The food was good though. Expect service fees and taxes to be added to any place you go. Overall good experience, friendly staff, clean and quiet hotel. If you want a nicer \"resort\" with more amenities and views, this is not it but totally fine tor a short stay.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Nassau, Bahamas, and I can confidently say it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have ever had. For a brand that prides itself on consistency, comfort, and quality, this location completely missed the mark from the moment I walked into my room.

The room was *nowhere near Marriott standards*. Immediately upon entering, I was hit with a **strong, foul stench** that lingered throughout my entire stay. No amount of air freshener, ventilation, or time made it better. It was embarrassing, uncomfortable, and downright unacceptable. I could not relax, I could not enjoy my stay, and I certainly could not invite any guests over because the odor was overwhelming and unpleasant. A hotel room should be a place of rest—not a space you’re trying to escape from.

Beyond the smell, the overall quality of the room felt neglected and poorly maintained. It was clear that cleanliness and basic upkeep were not priorities here. For the rate I paid, I expected a clean, fresh, and welcoming environment. Instead, I received a room that felt old, unkept, and unworthy of the Marriott name.

What makes this even worse is that this was not a minor inconvenience—it affected my entire trip. When you travel, you trust a reputable brand to deliver a certain level of comfort. This location failed on every front. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall , I enjoyed my stay. The property is under construction so the smell of the hallway and room bothered my mother. I called front desk and the room was changed promptly. Claude, the concierge was excellent, guided us well and was extremely helpful throughout our stay. I would stay again.

Staff treated us as invaders. Very short and didn’t want us there. Didn’t even try to fake it. Security was the only kind encounter and one male cleaner. Most hotels give at least breakfast included. Nothing included and price was over the top. Two pieces of toast with four pieces of sausage was $28…regular breakfast for two $85. The store charges $4 for a can of soda and $2.50 for $50 bag of chips. Taxi ride for one mile is $55 and tip is expected. The are itself is a bad location and separated from shops and places to eat. We had to walk in very dangerous traffic for 20 minutes to get to the first shop. Only thing close for food, that wasn’t in the industrial area, was McDonald’s, which we don’t eat here in the states. You can’t enjoy your trip without constant hounding from locals selling everything from $40 drinks to $30 beach chairs for rent. Non stop harassment. It was overwhelming. And if you don’t buy they get aggressive and angry. Plus we lost two days due to three hour flight delay that rerouted us from Atlanta to NEW YORK overnight. Then Expedia rebooked our stay, after they failed to do so until I called them, and booked it for a day short. So we lost two days. I will highly recommend staying out of Junkanoo, emphasize junk, beach. Paradise island is for tourists, this area for locals. Night and day different treatment on other side. Still has aggressive vendors, which are just locals without regulation. Very disappointed in hotel and location.

I noticed the 2 times that I've stayed at this hotel, in which, I opted for the poolside rooms which are on ground level, the bathrooms have poor plumbing, as both times, it smelled of sewage.

Staff was friendly, especially the front desk and concierge. Staff at the Bistro was equally friendly and polite. Housekeeping gets a gold star.
My only issue was the fact that there was no place to dry clothing/swimwear after beach/pool day, which caused the room to smell mildew. I will say that the front desk staff was vet accommodating and assisted once they were made aware of the issue.
