I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel in Paris. The neighbourhood is lovely and feels very safe, with plenty of nice restaurants nearby. The location is also very convenient — most major tourist attractions can be reached in less than 30 minutes.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which made the experience even better. I also appreciated the good air conditioning and the elevator, which made it more comfortable.

The only downside was the soundproofing — I could hear people next door at night, and there was some construction work happening next to the hotel during my stay, which disturbed my sleep a little. Of course, the construction is not the hotel’s fault, but better sound insulation would definitely improve the experience.

Overall, I would still recommend this hotel for its excellent location and very welcoming staff.

Alice in Wonderland

Cramped hotel room with bathroom designed for people 4 ft and under. I've been to 22 European cities and I know rooms are smaller but this one was like Alice in Wonderland. Also on second day, I asked front desk for toilet paper because we had do not disturb on door and guy said no. He didn't even ask what room we were in. Never had hotel reception just deny toilet paper. Also hallway is very small and any normal size person will have to squeeze through hall and doors. The area was good, away from attractions is the only good thing. Windows in bathroom broken and toilet is not for anyone over 5ft. Looks like room was cut in half to make 2 rooms.

We loved the location in Dumesnil. Very close to supermarkets, eateries and the metro. Just a 25 minute train ride into central Paris.
The staff were all very obliging and they have an excellent breakfast option.
The room we chose was very compact but worked for us.
Overall our stay was a very pleasant experience.

The staff were amazing! They were kind and helpful, offering luggage storage for free and an ice machine. The bed was comfortable, and the complementary water and coffee station was nice. The air conditioner was also great and a huge luxury since Paris is still not known for having air conditioning in many places. The only negatives were the hallway and door of the room and the toilet. The door and hallway were only wide end to fit a suitcase, and you had to slide through sideways. The toilet was arranged, so that you had to sit sideways to fit. There looked like other rooms that were not as small in the entrance.

Comfortable Hotel in Great Location

A comfortable hotel in a nice neighborhood, right by a Metro stop that takes you everywhere you want to go in Paris. Lots of delicious restaurants and bakeries around. Good breakfast, friendly staff. My son also loved it. Rooms small but comfortable and clean, and they have a fridge and AC/heat. My second time staying here and looking forward to coming back again.

The location is very good very close to metro and food. Small hotel but clean with a good daily service. The only complain about it; there were ants in the rooms and you have to be very carefull and not to drop food if it happens to eat snack in the room.

A good hotel overall. The room was very small, but it was fine for the price. The area was surprisingly nice, and a metro station was just a few steps away. The only thing I did not really like was sound proofing, you can hear everything and everyone. However, that was tolerable because other guests were pretty quiet. I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a decent area in Paris, and would not want to pay too much, and ready to have a very small (but clean) room, keeping in mind that sound proofing is not perfect.

This hotel was a great value for the price. Rooms were small (as expected in Paris) but clean. The Metro was only steps from the front door and we were able to get to all major attractions within 20 minutes. There is also a pharmacy, market and a nice restaurant called Metro close by. The area of the city it is in also seemed quiet and safe. Overall, Hotel Dore is a great, affordable option.

Location is quite ok. Metro station just beside the hotel and if you have a car, it is quite easy to leave and arrive the address. Parking in the street is possible.
Good restaurants nearby and it was really quiet in the night times.
Breakfast was ok.
Room was very small so if you have a lot of luggage, you may find it difficult to find place for all the clothes etc.
Only 2 electric sockets in the room and both in very strange places if you like to charge you appliances.
Toilet seat space is really narrow. I am quite an ordinary size male but even I found it impossible to sit down without hitting myself to toilet paper holder.

This hotel was so wonderful! We found it after going to 3 different hotels looking for air conditioning, and this was the first we found. Super easy to hop on the metro (8 then 6) to get into the city center every day. Coming back to air conditioning was SO worth it. Plus, it was always very nice and clean. The room was quite small, but as a young couple, we did not need much space. The only even slight problem we had was that the shower head would not stay up high enough, so we had to kind of hold it on ourselves while showering. Wasn't a big deal at all though. Definitely would recommend.

I found this small hotel online when looking for an affordable yet safe and comfortable place to stay. It met the mark for us. The staff was friendly and always helpful and I liked that was someone at the front desk around the clock (which also meant our late check-in was not a problem). We included breakfast in our rate, and it was a nice, serve-yourself spread offered just off the lobby every morning. There is a small lift, so you don't have to drag your bags up the stairs, but note it just fits one person plus their suitcase at a time. The rooms are also truly tiny, but ours had a nice bathroom/shower and was clean. Anyway, small is the norm in many older European buildings and it didn't bother us. There are restaurants, bakeries and other shops all around. The Metro station is just a half-block away and it's an easy 20-30 minutes to the main Paris sites. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with all the conveniences, this is not your place. But if you don't mind older and simple, this one is clean, affordable-enough and it suited us just fine.

This hotel has an excellent location, across the street from a metro stop which is easy to use and which will take you anywhere! The rooms and the showers were very small but clean and comfortable. The neighbourhood has an excellent restaurant called The Metro right across the street and there are bakeries and shops nearby. The hotel staff are most accommodating. This is our second stay in this hotel.

Very bad experience dealing with the staff. Clerk was rude and consistently picked a fight with me after I asked not to be engaged. Room was small for the price. Don't recommend unless staff go thru customer service training. I came to a hotel and paid over a 100 euro to be treated as a second class citizen.

Staff were very helpful throughout entire stay,the metro is just outside door and to get to city centre it took 2 trains and 30mins, direct line to Eiffel Tower - 20mins, bed was comfortable.
The room is very basic and is beginning to get a bit dated. The shower is tiny and the bathroom was small however in line with most 3star.

Nice hotel, close to transport links & eateries.

Although the hotel is on the very outskirts of zone one, that didn't make a difference since the transport links were seconds away from the front door. There is a large variety of restaurants and cafes to eat in and also plenty of pastry/sandwich shops for those wonderful treats. We've used the hotel before and if we visit Paris again I'm positive that we will use the hotel for a third time.

Wonderful hotel in great location

This was my first trip to Paris on my own (as a birthday treat) and I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. This hotel was very easy to find, less than an hour from Gare du Nord (didn't actually time it, sorry) and located just a few minutes away in walking distance from the Daumesmil Metro station. I actually got there a few hours before the official check in time but the lovely Geraldine who was at reception was able to give me my room early! Also as it was my birthday, she upgraded me to a much larger room AND offered me the breakfast complimentary the next morning, which was lovely and filling, btw!
The room itself (and bathroom) was spotless, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The elevator was tiny which did make me wonder how larger guests might manage but it was fine for me and my little suitcase. ;)
Without fail, ALL of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and tolerated my inadequate attempts to try out my very limited high school French, haha.
Overall, staying here made my short trip all the more special and I would wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Paris.

This hotel has a great location particularly if you need to walk from Gare du Lyon or Paris Bercy (Train Auto). Although the rooms are quite small they are very modern and everything works for a short stay. The staff are always very helpful and the buffet breakfast is really useful and of good quality.

Its a nice hotel, steps away from Metro - with Metro pass, you can travel to most of the Paris attractions. The staff were friendly, helping to book trips and printing reservations for you. I was pleasantly surprised, when they did a load of laundry free of cost for us, when we inquired about the nearest laundromat. So, overall a nice hotel, at that price. The room size is little small, but then you're not going to be in room that much..

The hotel is in a nice area...close to the metro station. Staff are very friendly! Room was small but, we did not come to Paris to stay in the room! Air conditioning worked well. Bathroom very modern. Had a small elevator but not a big deal. Just took turns going down. Wifi worked in the room! Great value! Would stay there again!!

The hotel is well located just a few meters from the metro and, even thought we were in a front room and on a fairly busy road, the sound proofing was excellent. There are also quite a range of restaurants, an ATM and a good market nearby.

Great price for the value

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, although the room was a bit small we didn't mind because we were out most of the time exploring the city. It's got nice, romantic old elevator which is just big enough for 2 skinny people :) If you're lucky enough to be on the 6th floor you can even see the tip of the Eiffel tower.

Great location: close to the Metro (Av Daumesnil) where you can make connections to all the attractions Tour Eiffel, Arc d' Triumphe, Montmarte, even take the RER B bus back to Charles De Gaulle or the Orly Bus. There are cafés, restaurants, and supermarkets close by to buy nourishment to replenish the calories spent walking.

This is our 5th stay at the Grand Hotel Dore and we plan on staying here more. Wonderfully located away from the surge of tourists, the hotel's incredibly helpful staff makes it a treat to stay here. Located maybe a 45 second walk from a Metro entrance, we appreciate easy movement into the central arrondisements. There is also a great boulangerie with maybe the world's best croissants steps from the front door. We recommend to anyone looking for a small, comfy place to stay in Paris!

Back room quiet & close to Metro/bakeries/grocer

We stayed 7 nights. Charming little hotel flush on the street's sidewalk (about 36 - 48 rooms). Back room windows open onto triangular courtyard. Can see into neighbors flats sometimes. Room 648 could see top half of Eiffel Tower on horizon, cool when search light is on at night. 6th-floor guests need to walk up last flight of spiral staircase (beautiful banister). Quaint old elevator but floor is only 4 SQUARE feet (61 x 61 cm). Bar fridge in Rm 648 appears to be from the '70s and cools things down to only ~10ºC (50ºF) after 24 hrs. Still, it kept our orange juice, apples, carrots, tomatoes & cheese cool enough in Sept. for 2-3 days at a time (very fresh produce available at grocery store - 7 min. walk). Air conditioning seemed to work, but used it only twice. Self-serve breakfast costs extra (12 euros/person!). We usually bought bread at nearby bakery. North Americans may want to request extra sheet to use as a flat sheet (only bottom sheet & duvet cover are standard.)

The room was clean, quiet but on the small side especially for three people as we originally booked a triple room. Staff was helpful and friendly, the free continental breakfast was up to par. Booked the hotel ( 3 adult) based on reviews and was not disappointed. The hotel is in a great location, only few stops (20 min) to any sight seeing yet in a quiet and safe location. Went out to a local restuarant just opposite the hotel every night for dinner - au metro and food was fantastic and cheap- highly recommend. The breakfast is good quality , fresh, several choices and more than enough to get you through to a late lunch or early dinner. Option to eat anytime between 7-10am meaning you don't have to rush and it is never crowed! The rooms are basic and a bit worn yet spotlessly cleaned every day with new bedding and towels and coffee and tea refilled also, the bathroom was spotless everyday and a nice touch after a long and busy day to have a pleasant shower!

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in even compared to 5 star hotels - what made the visit and will ensure our return is the exceptional customer service. Staff were fantastic and always warm and welcoming, asking how the day has been upon our return or offering suggestions on travel and sight seeing every morning. Nice little hotel. Great staff.

Steps from metro stop, next to wonderful boulangerie. Very friendly and helpful staff. Immaculate rooms.

I have stayed at this hotel twice during business trips. It is conveniently situated right next to a metro stop and is near the scenic Bois de Vincennes. The rooms are reasonably sized, and the breakfast is excellent.

Good hotel

I stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The room was small; but it was clean and comfortable. Staff was quite helpful. The hotel is just next to metro station; and there are several excellent patisseries and coffee shops around. Access to the central Paris is easy with metro.

Good location, but small room

The location of the hotel is good, handy to metro. But the room is really small. Acceptable for short stay of 1-2 nights. But the reception staff is very helpful and friendly.

A wonderful stay!

I stayed in this boutique hotel for 7 nights and I definitely recommend it! The location of it is great! It is only 1 minute walk to M6 and M8 which directly go to major sights and attractions in Paris. The room, though small (it's typical in Europe), has everything-safety box, fridge, slippers and electronic kettle. The towels and beddings are super clean! The front desk girls and guys are very friendly! They always greet people and are willing to help! On my date of arrival, I was offered a free upgrade from single room to double room because the girl wanted to make me happy! Isn't it sweet? I truly have sense of home there and I will definitely stay there again next time when I come to Paris!

Step to two metro lines so easy to get around pari

Room small by North America standards, but comfortable and clean. Staff very nice and helpful. Best part was steps away from 2metro lines (6&8) so very easy and cheap to get around. Also a great flea market nearby on Fridays.

SUPERB budget hotel close to Metro with breakfast!

It's difficult to find a nice budget hotel in Paris but this was perfect! The rooms are clean and comfy (although small like most Paris rooms), it's close to the metro, breakfast is included and the staff are absolutely wonderful!!! The two receptionists (Bernadette and Vusala) are amongst the nicest I've encountered in any hotel - so helpful and friendly with great English. The location itself is fairly central and you can reach everywhere fairly quickly on the Metro. There are not many bars or restaurants nearby, although there is a supermarket and Au Métro café restaurant near the metro is nice. I would recommend this place.

Great staff and convenient location

Staff were excellent, they made our stay special. Very helpful and were always available.
Location of the hotel was good, easy to get around on the metro which is quite cheap in Paris. Took 20 mins to get to the Eiffel Tower for example by metro. Only issue is that there are not too many good restaurants near the hotel, not a issue if you are willing to go to somewhere else on a short metro ride.

Everything you need.

The staff was great! The hotel was clean and I loved having clean sheets every day. The room was big enough for the amount of time I spent in it.
The only fault would be the tiny elevator. Only room for one with luggage. But there is always the stairs.
A pleasant experience.

Good hotel and good location.

My first impression was a little disappointing, the elevator is very small and old and the room is as small as the elevator. But the staff of the hotel was so grateful (they didn´t even seem to be French, seriously, maybe they´re not) and the room cleanessly was very nice that my first impression simply disappeared.
