I booked this hotel because it had decent reviews when I booked it (February 2024) and it had a really nice looking pool that my family was excited to use at the end of our 3 week vacation in Italy. Unfortunately, when we got to the hotel it was in a very distressed, ugly and dangerous looking area (surrounded by abandoned buildings with broken windows), a defunct supermarket, and almost no restaurants. When I checked in, I think I was the only person that was checking in that day as my reservation was the only one in the receptionist’s folder, I was told that the parking was free but that the pool would cost a lot of money/person/day to use. This was not disclosed in the Hotels.com listing or anywhere else, and would have been the first reason I rejected this hotel. The bad neighborhood and scary neighboring buildings would’ve been the second reason not to book, if that had been disclosed. Staff was very nice, breakfast was plain but functional with decent staff, the room was clean but so very old, the bathroom looked clean but with mold in the grout, and the beds and pillows were almost unsleepably uncomfortable. We accidentally left an insulin vial in a cooler in the refrigerator and I could not get anyone to answer at the hotel to find out if they were holding it or if I could have it sent to me, and they never notified me. I am horrified that I was charged anything for this stay, and even more distressed that it was so expensive for such a terrible experience.

Called to request cancellation because our ferry to mainland Italy was cancelled. Was advise that the cancellation would be enacted, but the credit card charge was posted anyway. Not very sensitive or considerate.!!

Fine if you are desperate for a sleep
The photos make the place look alot nicer than it is. It was probably decorated last possibly in the 80s. Pool is nice but was all closed and no beds out. Breakfast was basic. Room only had a small old shower cubicle. No plug sockets by the bed which is annoying as needed to charge phone at night and it has an alarm for the morning. Had to wait until 3pm to check in even though there was possibly only 3 rooms booked in the whole hotel. Area was an industrial estate. Sheets were so thin I could see a hair underneath them on the mattress

This hotel is the little brother of the Grand Hotel Duca D Este next door.
Basically the same deal with no restaurant or bar. The rooms are slightly noisier and smaller but quite comfortable.

Just what we needed...
We had found ourselves in a bind and had to find a place last minute. This hotel was the perfect answer and it was a short drive from Villa D'este. The concierge knew enough english to help us get set up and the room was tidy and comfortable. We would definitely stay again if we return to Tivoli in the future.

The hotel and services were great. We were actually updated from the 3 star Tivoli Hotel to the 4 star Grand Duca Deste Hotel next door. The Grand Duca earned its 4 stars from its lobby, dining rooms, bar and other services. However, the mattress in our room was in the shape of a saucer, and one of the blankets has a tear in it.. They needed to be replaced. Surprisingly, we slept very well.

This is a nice little hotel with the more modern large hotel built beside it. We stayed here for 1 night on our road trip, booked in speedily and free parking. Our room was fine, nice and clean but we were a bit worried as we overlooked the busy road. We need not have worried as we had a great nights sleep, traffic sort of vanished the later it got plus the double glazing so no probs on that front. We were told we can use the hotel swimming pool next door, virtually 50 ft. from this hotel. The pool is stunning well maintained has a life guard and to top it all we had this large pool to ourselves........NICE. Breakfast is served in the new hotel and is lovely, the room has a pool in the centre of it.
The Tivoli is in need of some TLC but don't let that put you off, it's clean quite and for the price more than satisfactory. The pool and the excellent breakfast next door was a winner for us. Try it and see, you will not be disappointed.

Finding the hotel was very difficult - even with the use of GPS. Had to stop at a local police station to get help. Took over an hour to find the place.

Hotel was good in room rate with free and nice breakfast at other associated hotel. Room was clean and hotel surrounding was nice, close to highway, 40 min drive to Rome center. Address was not good enough for GPS to locate. Need to put GPS location.

We zaten niet in dit hotel. Ik kreeg de dag ervoor een bericht via WhatsApp dat we naar het hotel ernaast moesten gaan. Dat was een zogezegd 4sterren hotel terwijl hotel tivoli 3 sterren had. En we moesten hierdoor niet bijbetalen. Maar die 4 sterren was het voor ons niet waard. Het was allemaal oud en antiek. Het was er ook heel druk waardoor we s'avonds bijna geen parking hadden aan het hotel. Personeel was wel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Premesso che l’hotel Tivoli era chiuso e ho soggiornato presso il Gran hotel Duca d’Este penso della stessa proprietà devo dire che sono stato molto bene. Camera grande e letto matrimoniale comodo. Bagno funzionale. Un hotel di altri tempi ma ottimamente tenuto con personale gentilissimo ed attento. La sola nota negativa è il ristorante che non presenta piatti tipici regionali ed estremamente caro per qualità e gusto del cibo offerto, ma in questo periodo di emergenza sanitaria siamo costretti a cenare in hotel.

Tutto ok, grazie per la vista piscina. Forse per 4 stelle ci aspettavano una stanza piu fornita (solo saponetta e uno shampoo doccia a testa). Piscina spettacolare anche se il cestino vicino alla vasca non è stato mai svuotato in tre giorni. Anche gli ombrelloni giganti abbiamo dovuto aprirceli da soli arrampicandoci. Per il resto benissimo ci siamo rilassati per bene.

The hotel is very old and would need a renewal of rooms and the equipment. It was very difficult to adjust the temperature of the water in the shower; air conditioning was not working in the room (which at 38 celsius degrees is a real problem), but most of all: at night I was bitten by bedbugs!! Terrible experience.

Se si arriva dopo le 22.00 la portineria è chiusa, il check-in va fatto in un hotel vicino (pochi metri percorribili a piedi attraverso un vialetto) ma non c'è alcun cartello o alcuna informazione che lo indichi e che spieghi cosa fare. Colazione solo dolce scarsa, succhi annacquati e bevande ai distributori mediocri. Noi eravamo di passaggio, ma si potrebbe cercare di meglio.

Il Tivoli hotel, facile da raggiungere, direttamente sulla Tiburtina permette facili escursioni per le ville di Tivoli ed anche per il centro di Roma. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo anche perché offre la possibilità di usufruire della piscina dell'adiacente hotel Gran duca d'Este. Gli spazi esterni sono ben curati ed il personale gentile e discreto.

Il personale e stato molto accogliente pero le camere hanno un urgente bisogno di essere ristrutturate (sembra che il tempo si sia fermato negli anni '40).
