Not good for light sleepers

The hotel was nice and comfortable overall, but not ideal for light sleepers. The sound insulation wasn’t great. whenever someone used the bathroom at night, I could clearly hear the flush, which woke me up several times. Apart from that, everything else was good enough.

This is probably one of the most modern hotels I have ever stayed in. the hotel room was small, but comfortable, very updated/modern, and clean. The bathroom is not closed off from the room with a door, but there is a divider between the bed area and the bathroom. There is on-site parking. The hotel lobby is not open 24/7, but they will proactively reach out to you for an arrival time and if they are closed when you arrive, provide you with self check in instructions. This hotel is not located in the central shopping/dining area of Zurich, but a little further away. There are dining options within walking distance.

The room was spacious and cosy, but the shower area layout needed to improve as the entire toilet bowl gets wet during shower. Breakfast was very simple and it's not worth the value.

I won't come back

Decent location close to public transport and walking distance to cafes and restaurants etc.

I did not like the room. Not terrible, but cleanliness was so so (cobwebs, dead bugs under the bed), and it felt claustrophobic with no space for luggage or to move around. The room had a small window into the parking lot, and a large fabric-covered window to the front side whose sole purpose seems to be to ensure you wake up in a fully illuminated room every time somebody turns on the outside light. It's impossible to avoid getting water everywhere in the entire bathroom when you shower. At least it's wheelchair friendly.

Internet was slow (usable but too slow for remote work).

They were also 100% unwilling to accommodate any change to the reservation for less than the full price of an entirely new booking. I tried extending my 5 day stay to 10 days but starting 2 days later, and they tried to charge me for an additional 10 days + admin fee for changing the reservation. Ended up forfeiting the first 2 days, and went to a different hotel for the rest of my stay. Good decision.

comfy bed and quiet.
I think they should provide a small fridge in the room and a way to black out light more effectively.
Breakfast is too expensive, considering you cannot choose what to get but they will provide you with a set selection. Orange juice is not fresh and tastes very artificial. Two hotels in the nearby badenerstrasse offer more at much cheaper rates.

Beautiful Design and good location!

Great hotel, location pretty central with a short walk to Wiedikon station or to the Central station area. Definately be careful at night as the area on way to central station is a little sketchy and we’re accosted by a couple of drunk chaps on one evening which was not good!

Room was very warm, despite temperatures in the 50's (10 c), and radiators turned off - so the only way to maintain comfort was to keep the windows open. That's a problem because the window overlooks the train tracks with frequent traffic...

Also, some security concerns since anyone could walk in off the street up to any room

Property was being renovated at the time but they did a good job of compenstating. Service was outstanding and the room was very clean and presentable. The shower door is a little cumbersome but the property is in a quiet and pleasant part of town the the rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

First off, we really wanted to love this place, but it was in the middle of a heat wave where temps were 90° plus and this hotel does not have air conditioning. It was not comfortable without AC, and it’s my fault for not checking that beforehand.
But I feel like we would have been way more forgiving on the minor faults had we not been so miserably hot.
Because of the heat we had to have our windows wide open and since the train runs right by the hotel, it was quite noisy most of the time.
On the plus side, other than a lack of a mini-bar/fridge, the room was perfect. The entire staff was extremely nice and attentive. Our breakfast was completely satisfactory and tasty.

Style, design and comfort all in one

This hotel is a real gem. I had booked it because I was unable to get into the hotel I traditionally stayed in in Zurich and I have to tell it it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are functional, well designed and very comfortable. The location is surrounded by terrific restauratants plus you can walk into the centre of town or get a e-scooter or a tram. It makes it a great location and a terrific environment to stay.

I stayed in the Design Double Room, which was very spacious. It had a separate raised area w a huge sprawling desk (perfect for work etc) and couch and TV. The bar and common space/restaurant was a chill relaxing cool place to eat, drink and work on your laptop.

Only minor thing is - their pillows are too soft. Would be great to offer other style pillows for the bed for a truly restful sleep.

Small boutique hotel with unique and very today designs. People work and meet at the coffee shop/ lounge of which to me is more of a coworking space than a restaurants. They have full bar. The service though was impressively helpful. I even enjoy chatting up the front desk and ask for information. The area is in the up and coming, trendy, hip, and surrounded by restaurants and there are a few supermarkets around. The weather was terrible when I was there and they allowed food delivery, provided the necessary utensils, and have the order be charged to the room. The daily activities including yoga classes daily. Mind you that the evening class was packed. My room was much better than expected with living space and full bathroom with bathtub. Overall, it was a very good experience.

Great design. The best minimalist room I've seen in a hotel.
I'd stay here again just for the design, which is as good as it gets for this style. Breakfast didn't measure up to an array of other hotels visited on this trip. Service from some staff absolutely great, others don't quite get that Germanic bluntness doesn't communicate well in the hospitality industry.

Very good accommodations, service and location. Easy check-in and check-out process, when booked online. Worth it to add the Breakfast Buffet to your booking for its convenience and value. Free apples and bottled water daily are a novel but welcomed touch. I recommend Greulich for individual travelers looking for a central, but off the beaten path room. I will stay here again, when visiting Zurich.

Very good service oriented staff. It became a little stuffy at night due to lack of ariconditioning, but was fine otherwise. Very good hotel. Absolutely loved the design. Recommended if you would like to get a quiet sleep away from the crowd. The old town and the shopping street are at walking distance (we took 15-20 minutes to walk)

Everything in the hotel is great with the exception of not having air conditioning in the room. Our room was the perfect size for a family of four and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would only recommend this hotel when temperatures are low, I'd have expected a 4 star hotel at this price level to have air conditioning. We struggled to sleep a couple of nights due to how hot the room was, the fans helped a little bit but not enough.

Spacious apartment in central location

The apartments are huge, which is useful when travelling with an infant. The fully equipped kitchen is great for self catering - the cleaning staff even fill and run the dishwasher. The reception staff were very helpful and prompt when we needed anything.

The location is convenient for transport and shops. However, the location is noisy and the rooms got hot even in March. This combined is a problem as the area is too loud to open windows at night. We switched off all heating by the 2nd night which helped, but the duvets could be of better quality as they seemed the type that leave you feeling sweaty.

The oven and hob are also due an upgrade as they are bit slower than modern models.

Stay for a week--or a month--in comfort & ease

The only downside to our stay at Gruelich was that we were only there for one night. What an amazing and unique place. The attention and care the staff put into our stay were impressive. There were two kid-sized tables and comfy chairs waiting for our daughter, along with a life-sized sheep, which became the highlight of her trip. The unit was a gorgeous, light-filled one bedroom apartment, surprisingly spacious and well-equipped. You could comfortably stay here for a week, or a month. The neighborhood is a nice mix of both sleepy and trendy. The night we were there, there was an opening and party at a design showroom with DJ and drinks right out on the street. Grulich is right next to the train tracks--at first, I thought it was going to be a big issue, but it wasn't at all.

If you want comfort, ease, an impeccable level of service, great staff, and wonderful onsite dining, you can't choose any better than here.

Adequate for 1 - 3 nights.

Arrived 1 hour before check-in and was accommodated with a room. Staff was friendly and the expedia-based reservation worked out seamlessly. unfortunately, the central heat in the rooms was not working but I was quickly accommodated with a space heater.
My room in particular had a very tall but skinny window (one that couldn't be covered with a drape), so there was a glint of light coming in at night time, however they do provide night shades.
Has basic amenities - slippers (robe provided only on request); bath towel (small size).
Overall, an adequate stay for perhaps 1 - 3 nights.

Hotel is due for some refurbishment, there is obvious wear and tear in the rooms. Take rooms only facing the road, as the courtyard rooms are exposed to bad construction noise. Air flow in rooms are poor, opening the windows help but they should install temperature controls and internal airflow circulation in the rooms. Service from staff was however excellent.

6 of us stayed in a very spacious, clean and modern apartment. It was lovely. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the space. It is close to the train track which can be noisy but the staff were absolutely charming and very helpful. The immediate area is a little mixed with some unsavoury shops and bars but it is quite well located for a walk into the centre - about 30 minutes.

This is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. All the little details were brilliantly done (help yourself to free water in the fridge, free wifi, yoga mat in the room, bathroom toiletries), the staff were exceptionally professional and helpful and the location is superb. Much more relaxed than some of the more traditional, stuffier hotels in Zurich.

Had the most pleasant stay in Hotel Greulich for our Europe trip overall. We are a group of 4 adults and 2 children, stayed in the two bedroom apartment and the size is huge! The apartment is very clean and the train noise didn't bother us at all. Sofa was already converted into a bed and bedding was made upon arrival. Provided a baby cot as per requested in advance which is superb!

Enjoyable stay in Zurich.

Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. Enjoyed room which was very nice and large, took 2 great yoga classes which was a treat, loved the snacks in the bar and thought the neighborhood was great. Ate at a couple nice restaurants in the area too. Would definitely go back.

Super Friendly Staff

The rooms in this hotel are a little austere; very white and carpetless; hipsterish. Some people will like that, some people won't, and some people won't mind either way; I didn't. But if you don't like the rooms, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff will help you to ignore all that in a hurry. These are some of the nicest people I've ever met working in a hotel.
