There is something magical about this place.We absolutely loved our time here. It’s beautiful, spacious, and felt very luxurious, with a great location just a few minutes’ walk from restaurants, shops, and the Albert docks. Everything in the room was thoughtfully provided, from memory foam pillows to cotton pads in the bathroom—I was really impressed. A special shout-out to the staff, who made our stay exceptional with impeccable, friendly service.

There is no onsite parking, you have to walk several blocks with your suitcase. The pool and steam/sauna are 50 pounds extra per two hours. These are not 5 star accommodations. The rooms are small and have more space vertically then on the ground. The staff was very helpful and nice. The food in the restaurant was great.

Very disappointing stay for a hotel marketed as five star.

There were numerous excessive and poorly explained charges, including £50 per person for limited facility access and a £10 room service fee, neither of which were clearly communicated in advance. We were also repeatedly told charges could not be added to the room, only to find they had been applied at checkout due to “system issues”.

Communication before and during the stay was poor. I contacted the hotel multiple times from October to confirm arrangements with no response. Despite booking a New Year’s Eve table at the Palm Bar and specifically requesting not to be seated in a corner, we were placed behind a wall. Staff were dismissive when this was raised and only moved us after escalation.

Service lacked attention to detail throughout, even basic turndown service was poorly done. Ironically, I would have been far happier at a lower star hotel nearby with consistent international service. We left at 7.30 am on New Year’s Day simply wanting to go home.

Five star pricing without five star service.

Good service at check gave the impression that a delightful stay was in store. However, this quickly changed. We took our luggage to the room and got ready for the afternoon tea we had booked in the botanic tea room. The room was adequate and while the building has character and charm, it doesn’t blow you away or make you feel special.
Afternoon tea was booked for 1:15pm and we were welcomed at sat down on time. We ordered the champagne and a cup of tea each and then waited more than 40 minutes for the first course. During this time, 3 other tables who sat down after us were served their first courses. When we eventually received our first course, no apology was offered. While the food was good and the rest of the meal served appropriately, the start made the experience un-enjoyable.
Later in the day, we also had dinner booked at the hotel’s main restaurant, named Seaforth. After taking our order, the waitress promptly returned to our table to inform us that one of the meals was not available after changing our order and eating dinner we were also told one of the desserts was not available too. Very strange for what is supposed to be a 5 star hotel.
When checking out the following day, I made the above complaints known to the hotel staff. I was assured someone would look into both situations and contact me before the end of the day. That was two days ago and I’ve still not heard anything.
I remain hopeful that one day soon, someone wi contact me about my experience

Room and corridors were a bit dated. The corridors I’m assuming were meant to be like that but expected more from the rooms, considering meant to be 5*. The palm court was great but expensive but to be expected and staff were helpful and friendly.

Deluxe bedroom was comfortable, but fairly small with hardly enough space to walk around the bed. The bar, restaurant area is pretty spectacular. The biggest gripe I have is the hotel expects their guests to pay £50 (yes Fifty pounds !) to use the poool and sauna !! This is totally over the top ! I told the receptionist that I wouldn’t mind paying a supplement e.g. about £10, but to try to charge their paying hotel guests £50 to use the pool and sauna for about 30 minutes is absolutely crazy !

The product itself is excellent and very well finished. While the service was generally pleasant, I felt it did not consistently match the high standard set by the property.

The staff were friendly and approachable, though at times the service could have been more efficient. For example, at midday when the bar was very quiet, it took around 15 minutes to be served despite there being four staff behind the bar, with two preparing for service and two chatting.

We experienced similar inconsistencies at reception. Upon checking in, we noticed a sewage smell in the bathroom. As we needed to get ready and head out quickly, we mentioned this on our way out and were told that maintenance would investigate and that an alternative room would be available when we returned. When we came back, however, we were asked to return to the original room to check whether the smell was still present and to call reception if it was. The smell remained, and we were then moved without issue. While the situation was resolved, I felt this could have been handled more smoothly on our return. I was also surprised that the issue had not been identified prior to the room being allocated.

Overall, the staff were professional, but I felt there was a missed opportunity to deliver a standout guest experience. The exception was a Scouser lady with a black bob at breakfast, who was consistently efficient and a pleasure to speak with. She really stood out, and the property could do with more staff like her.

The wait for check-in was nearly 30 mins in a very hot reception area. The room key didn’t work when I got to the room and had to come back down to reception ( this happened again throughout visit). The room was not a 5 star experience. To be honest it looks tired and there was dust in the room. However, the bar was very nice and the staff were friendly

Arrived at 12 and told to come back at 3pm for the room key. Came back at agreed time but actually didn't get the key until 430pm. Room was ok, however loud noise coming from air vents ( wasn't air con). No conditioner in bathroom ( was empty). Coat hanger left from previous guest. Stain on bedding , Tile in bathroom had been replaced or repaired but grouting finish was messy. Tried calling from room service but no answer, Tried calling reception and again no answer.

You have to pay £30pp if you want to use the pool. The room was small, the signage in the corridors is poor, got lost multiple times just trying to leave the hotel. We rung down to reception to ask for some coffee for the room, they brought coffee pods for a coffee machine that wasn’t in the room.

Just about everything was great…lunch and dinner were very good, service was always great, but I had a real problem with the breakfast. I stayed for a week and prepaid for breakfast….for 5 of the days I asked for either 2 fried eggs over easy or boiled eggs runny and I had to send them back every time because they came out dry and hard each time. Either there was a disconnect between the server and the chef or the chef did not know how to cook a runny egg. It became very frustrating once it went past one time.

Beautiful lobby and hotel. The room was lovely but had a musty smell and looks its age. The corridors roo had that musty smell. Good location. Walking distance to city centre. Lots of cafes and restaurants around.
Enjoyed the massage treatment at the spa. Was not happy that you have to pay to use the spa services such as swimming pool and sauna.

We came to Liverpool for a quick getaway after our wedding (a minimoon). Alex on reception was lovley, and made sure we were well looked after. The room was comfortable, clean and had loads of extras (first time we have had hotel robes, very posh).

Would recommend to anyone!

We stayed for 2 nights. Opted to eat breakfast out, on this occasion. We were told that our room had been upgraded, but not sure if it really was. Our room was clean and tidy. our towels were kindly replaced even though we had kept our used ones. All staff from reception area, concierge and room prep folk were awesome! Would stay again and try the breakfast option next time. We had a great stay thank you!

Looking for a memorable, quality hotel for a Beatles themed weekend.. Positives.. Great location for the Cavern. Magnificent Palm court bar and dining area. Staff are lovely and efficient. Breakfast was very good. Room was clean and quiet.
Negatives .. Room was uninspiring. Tall thin window with no view other than the central rooftop. No bath as our bathroom was set up for disabled guests. TV was basic freeview.
Recognised it wasnt a premium room but still felt disappointed after paying £489 for 2 nights. Pool and spa looked nice but understood a large extra fee required to use it. Nearest parking cost a further £40 for 2 nights. They have a moderate discount arrangement elsewhere but had driven for 3 hours and already parked.
