Great value for the area you're 30min walk from centraal station. Everything else is walkable and it's quiet considering everything around. Friendly staff too. Made our beds each day. Room was clean. There was heat and AC. We stayed 2 nights.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed at the desk and staff appeared helpful with no concerns. However, upon entering the room - there were marks all over the walls, a strong smell of damp and damp markings on one wall. The TV did not work without the remote, which was not in the room either.

We were woken intermittently during the first night, by a neighbouring room and slamming doors. We were also locked out of our room due to batteries running out on the automated card door lock mechanism, whilst the desk clerk was replacing this downstairs, I was confronted by a male customer as he was entering the room next door. It became apparent that the lone female in the room next to ours was a sex worker working from this hotel. Once this was reported to the desk clerk, whilst he attempted to be helpful - it was only heard to the extent that they would 'speak to the individual' to ensure she had no 'visitors' that night, and we were refused a different room or upgrade as an alternative. Whilst the staff were not rude, the response was awful and we would definately not recommend staying with them unfortunately.

The girl at the front was amazing. She worked 14 hours in a day and she smiled every time we saw her. That being said when I asked to check in early if the room was open, they sent me a form letter saying I must pay an early fee to check in early. It’s a competitive market and most hotels, offer free early check in if the room is available. Most hotels offer at least two bottles of water at no charge on checking in. I also believe the charge a guest a higher rate if they want to stay more days when they booked it a cheaper price online is a mistake. Most hotels carry forward the on the price because this time they don’t have to pay commission. Without the nice girl at the front we probably would’ve left. Give her a raise and get your policies up-to-date.

Old, Run down , it needs a lot of improvements, I will not recommend this hotel very small rooms, it needs a lot of maintenance. The AC was not working. The windows are not insulated for noise. The only good thing about this hotel is location.
1/2 star,spend an extra €50 per night and get a nicer place.

Was ideal for a last minute booking, staff went above and beyond to help. The hotel itself isn't the cleanest but for what you pay it was fine. The bed is actually very comfy considering how thin the mattress is. The tv doesn't work but wifi at hotel is good, unless in basement. Free hot drinks in lobby as no kettle in room. But this wasn't an issue. Would stay again.

KEEP CLEAR!

Where do I start… we arrived on the 26th to greeted by reception and handed out room key, the room was below ground level with a tiny double rectangular window situated beside the seating arrangement of next doors bar where if you manage to open the window it leaves the customers looking down right into your room. The aircon was cut off to the room on the second night and the Tv didn’t work at all, total black screen. Almost as if it’s a fake television as the red light was present at all times indicating stand by. We were told they were down everywhere in hotel but as I went onto read reviews this has been an ongoing issue for weeks now! After our first night sleep both me and my partner woke up covered in bites which our GP back home now has confirmed as bed bugs, there’s no surprise here as on the last night I thought to look under the bed and it was like a vending machine of half eaten chocolate bars and sweats. The room comes with zero appliances other than 2 coat hangers and a railing. The shower room is connected to the bedroom and was in the format of a wet room with no shower screen/curtain therefore after every use the entire room was swimming with water, this resulted in us having to use all our towels to dry the place up with every use, stay clear of this hotel! It is not as described nor advertised, this is me and my partners 5th time visiting Amsterdam and every hotel we’ve stayed in has been of a similar description/price range/location & image it’s poorly run!

Where to start. We arrived at the hotel, having driven 5 hours from Hamburg. The parking was exorbitant. The receptionist was the antithesis of warm and welcoming. We got the key for the door, assuming the worst of it was over...

The room posed not only a hygiene concern but a risk to health and safety. The sheets and mattress were covered in hair and stained with blood. There was no soap or toiletries and the toilet showed signs of human waste. The entire room was disgusting and had clearly not been cleaned in some time.

When we raised these issues at reception, we were met with hostility and were told no other rooms were available. Housekeeping was offered for the following morning, but given the unsanitary conditions, we did not feel safe staying even one night.

We found numerous reviews describing similar experiences. This is clearly not an isolated case. Guests report consistent issues with cleanliness, poor customer service, and aggressive communication from management. It appears this hotel has a pattern of failing to meet even basic hospitality standards.

We left and booked alternative accommodation the same night. We were refused a refund, despite the room being clearly unfit for occupancy. Expedia has attempted to assist but the hotel is unwilling to engage in any resolution.

Do not stay at this hotel. There are serious hygiene concerns, and the lack of accountability from the hotel is alarming.

For what it is, it's a good hotel, in a good location. The complimentary tea and coffee in reception was appreciated and the reception staff were helpful. The rooms are perfectly adequate as are the on suits shower rooms, but not overly spacious (if in a double, expect one of you to have to climb out of bed from the bottom). Clearly some elements are in needs of a bit of TLC and there is no sound proofing, but given the age of the building, that can be forgiven and wasn't really an issue. There is a bar literally next door that does a great breakfast and a bakery across the canal which is open earlier for coffee and pastries, they also do great sandwiches. The area itself is relatively quiet but still has plenty of shops and restaurants and everything is within reasonable walking distance. Would we stay there again? yes.

Decent place, close to the city centre, 24hr access and staff, accommodating and friendly, access to a taxi to and fro airport for a cheaper price if requested (57 Euro compared to nearly 80 Euro), rooms are clean although dated and could so with a spurce up and lack tea/coffee making facilities in the room, although there is a machine at reception. Would give 3.5/5. Only thing that really lets it down are the dated rooms but for a 3 star hotel it's welcoming and accommodating staff, fairly central location and overall cleanliness made it a good experience

Brilliant alltogether experience, I travelled alone and the hotel staff were fantastic, don't listen to the reviews on Google this place is top notch, staff were so friendly and helpful especially since this was my first time visiting Amsterdam clean rooms, great service, couldn't ask for more, my only quam was the cleaners start a bit early for me as I was out most nights enjoying the nightlife but just proves the place is very clean, I will be back to this same hotel in the near future 5stars from me well done!

The room exceeded my expectations. It was decently big, and very clean, with a nice view of the canal. We only had 2 minor complaints: there was no soap on the sink, and the AC automatically turned off during the night.

Disgusting, dirty, left early and lost money

We checked in close to check in time and were given a room on the first floor. Absolutely tiny and did not match the pictures / description for the room booked at all. There was not space on both sides of the bed. There was also an incessant beeping noise that they couldn't get to turn off. We asked to change rooms, they told us to wait for the manager to come see if he could get the panel to stop beeping. I was terribly sick and just wanted to sleep. Once we shared that they found another room for us. That room was on a higher floor and MATCHED what I actually booked.

The room was still VERY UNCLEAN. The walls had so many scuff marks, dirt marks, etc, the windows had caked on dirt inside, the shower was missing the drain grating and had a lot of yellow green buildup.

It was not a 3 star hotel at all. It was disgusting. We left a night early and just ate the cost of losing the money.

The hotel is really well situated for links by tram to the Centraal rail station and is close to many of the museums and other attractions. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful (especially Roberto who we chatted with several times). The only thing we found not good was the fact that there never seemed to be enough towels. Some days two, some days three, and no bathmat on several days. This is clearly not the fault of the customer facing staff, who were apologetic and courteous at all times. The management of the hotel needs to address this.

This was the worst hotel I have stayed in. We had to check in here due to a flight cancelletion and booked for two nights. The bedding stank and was damp, the mattress was filthy, the wallpaper was stained and held on in places with duct tape, there was no window and the room was damp and we checked out the next morning and stayed elsewhere. We were unable to get a refund on the second night but could not wait to get out of there. The staff were quite aware of the problems but had no power to do anything about them. There were insects on the wall and we were concerned about bedbugs.

Upon arriving, we received our room without difficulty. It was located in a basement level below the surface of the roads with no windows except for a dirty skylight. The room was musty and had mold growing on the ceiling of the bathroom. The walls were dirty with streaks of various substances and hairs. There were also several various insects that decided to also stay the night. Our travel plans were cut short and we were only able to stay one night in Amsterdam, but I am glad it was only one.

The room had an window which we did not prefer to open as it had no view n was mostly blocked by other building. Didn't felt the need to open the window as the AC was functional and adequate.

Me and my partner stayed for 5 days and for the whole 5 days our bedding washing changed, it didn’t even look clean when we arrived. We are now covered in bites which we are assuming are bed bites!! Only thing that is good about this hotel is the location other than that do not bother and stay clear!!!

It’s nothing like the pictures. Rooms are extremely small. We got there early and they were still cleaning rooms, but the (very nice) woman at the front desk took us down to see the room anyways. It was in the basement, and she was swatting flies the second we entered. No windows or ventilation, and the room was so small we couldn’t even fit all of our luggage in it. We ended up having to pay $200 extra for a bigger room with a window, and it was only moderately more clean/spacious. The shower leaked all over the room and there were bugs everywhere. The air conditioner would not stay on, we had to reset it every hour. And the cherry on top, at 1:30 AM our first night there, the fire alarm went blaring throughout the whole hotel. We had to evacuate just to be told nothing was wrong and to go back to bed, just for it to go off again 20 minutes later. No explanation from staff. Jarring and extremely unsettling.

Nice staff very dated furniture my mattress topper was so old had cloth bumps all over it, plain to see not been changed for absolute years. I slept well however as nice and quiet. No refreshment facility in the bedroom like a kettle however a green coffee/tea machine downstairs 24 hrs a day, so this was really helpful. Awful TV no English speaking channels, really irrelevant channels. Nice building just very dated and shabby. My first room was like a soulless box, I was promptly changed to another room for free which was great. Nice location and hotel, literally needs updating. Perfect for just somewhere to sleep as many restaurants and facilities around. I had a nice stay but Hotel too dated and shabby for me. I wouldn’t want to stay here again, but it was cheap and reasonable with lovely staff.

Day 1 we had water all over the floor. Realized the windows were leaking. They gave us a towel. The Heater did not work. It got very cold at night. Too cold to shower everyday. When they cleaned the room they only gave us 2 towels. Nothing for the floor which was needed because there was an open shower and water went everywhere
The one highlight was the #4 tram was right outside and the clerk let us borrow her umbrella while they got our room ready.

The worst hotel ever. Save your money. The staff are rude, we had a basement room which was 1000 degrees with no tea or coffee, one towel, tv did not work and no seat for the desk. After feeling like we were about to die from heat exhaustion we asked to switch rooms. This room at least had another towel to use but it was still awful. Mould everywhere, black marks all over the ceiling and floor. It is not worth the amount we paid at all and I will NOT be returning ever again. Also the place is getting renovated? So you are woken up every 20 minutes from 8am in the morning all throughout the day.

The bedsheets were absolutely disgusting, stained pillows and an old mattress topper that you could feel the scrunching of the old mattress through, the walls were stained and the air conditioning was broken, leaving the room stiflingly hot. There was no remote for the television, and when asked for one we were told someone would bring it up, and they never did. On top of this the shower water got so hot it set off the fire alarm. Twice.

Was placed in the basement room in The hotel which had mouse in there then got move to the 1st floor room the walls had foot prints all over it it good dusting the windows was left open had to close it tv didn’t not have work though out my stay and then the power went out in my room for 10-15 mins would not stay here agin

This hotel is a wonderful for a mini city break.
It is perfect for those who just need a hotel to sleep.
They are nearby the city centre which is Dam square. We found a shortcut that gets you there in 9-10 mins.
Whenever you get lost, somehow the hotel is always nearby in our case. The staff were lovely, the bed was comfortable. The location was fab and there was a lovely bakery and a coffee bar next to the hotel. To grab quick breakfast and then start your day.
There is a lift.
Rooms are small but this is what we knew before we booked and didn’t mind as it is a 3 star. But for a 3 star, it is actually worth it and really comfortable. It wasn’t as loud as I expected. Only outside as we were on the residential side. But it was really good hotel! Everywhere is nearby and there is a tram literally outside the hotel. So if you weren’t able to walk or had kids you can easily hop on and hop off. Just beware of those bicycles. The hotel faces the canal, such a lovely view.
