The location was perfect for our needs as we had just finished El Camino and were preparing to return back to Canada. It was quiet, very peaceful and close to the airport. The plaza was a very pleasurable place to walk around and sit in the park and enjoy the evening. There were lots of places to eat with varying menus and price ranges. It was evident that there were lots of options for bus service to the airport and the centre of Madrid. We would have loved more time to explore the area.

We stayed here to be close to the airport for an ealy morning flight. It is a block from a sweet little pueblo plaza with bars and restaurants. The AC worked well, beds were.decent. Shower was clean and functioned well.

I didnt quit like my room the first day, explained to the receptionist and she treated me so nicely. It was changed the next morning (although i was already falling in love with it 😅). I loved my stay, very helpful staff, very easy area to navigate. The staff make sure you enjoy yourself and the fact that they all speak little English is perfect.....The closeness to bus and train stations made my stay so lovely ... Definitely visiting the hotel again.....

BEDBUGS! My husband and I stayed in a room here. He left the following morning for one place, I for another. Three days later, we were both covered with bites on our legs, backs, and arms. He went to the doc where he was and was told he was covered in bedbug bites. The doc said, \"there had to be a whole army of bedbugs in your bed to do THAT!\" Stay away!!!

Not a nice place, barely any insulation on the walls and you can hear everything. People were stomping and yelling at 4 in the morning and the motion censor light would turn on every single time someone was outside the door. The front desk person was rude and the service wasn’t great, I didn’t see a single other person in the hotel. There was one outlet behind the bed and another in the bathroom, that’s it. Air conditioning did not work, at all and the window in the room was about two feet tall and in the corner of a blank wall. It was $90 for this one night.

The hotel is located very close to the airport--hardly a mile away--in a really cute and safe little town. The man at the reception desk was unbelievably helpful. That's so rare these days. We so appreciated all his good advice about restaurants, buses to the airport, etc. The rooms are somewhat pricey, but we're paying for the convenience of being 5 minutes from the airport.

I choose this Hotel because of it's proximity to the airport and our early morning flight out. It still required a taxi ride that was 20 euros in the middle of the night. The neighborhood is great with many restaurants. The hotel staff was extremely helpful.

Lifted pillow to get into bed and found a long, black human hair under my pillow which made me question if the sheets had been changed or, at least, the cleanliness especially during covid-19. Wi-fi was so intermittent that I had to invoke the data plan at $12/day on my phone. Asked about the wi-fi at the front desk and was told everyone was on it. Wouldn't that always be the case? No hot water in the morning to take a shower before my journey home of three flights with lengthy layovers in between each flight.

Loud, paper thin walls, smells like smoke
I have given a negative review, and the staff appeared to be nice, but I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend it. People were partying in multiple rooms until 3am, you can hear the conversations, the doors shutting echo through the halls and it's already loud. Just don't stay here if you plan is to sleep.

Convenient to Madrid's Barajas Airport
For only one, short night it was a \"doable\" hotel. Our double room was exceptionally small with nowhere except the bed to sit and read or watch TV. We attempted a room upgrade and they do not have that option. Their cable system did not include any English language channels. We did not feel the linens were as clean as could be. After pulling back the covers we discovered a long black hair on our sheets. Definitely not from one of our heads. Closer look at the top covering to the bed revealed stains and spots that either laundering couldn't remove or the cover was in need of washing or replacing. The shower was fine with good water pressure and room for turning around. The hotel is adjacent to a plaza with at least 6 different food and beverage choices. We ate at two places around the plaza and thoroughly enjoyed the food in both of them. The food helped ease our unhappiness with the room. During our overnight stay we encountered three desk clerks, all of them helpful, somewhat conversant in English, and very polite. The woman who checked us in compared very favorably to any desk clerk we have encountered in better hotels. Our request for a 4:15 AM taxi was carried out without any problems. The hotel is a 20 Euro taxi ride from Terminal 2. In some of the reviews I read some people found it within walking distance to the airport. HMM?

Basic, inexpensive hotel.
Hotel Barajas is OK. Good front desk staff, location near a pleasant plaza with a selection of restaurants. I thought that it was closer to the airport than it actually is -- cab ride was 12-15 minutes.
Regarding the room -- immaculately clean, good bathroom, bed rather small for two people. The automatic hallway light went on and off repeatedly through the night, sending substantial light into the room.
I wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked, I didn't sleep well, and there was still a substantial cab ride to the airport. In retrospect, I would have stayed in Madrid at my nicer and more expensive hotel. On the other hand, Hotel Barajas was quite inexpensive, so budget travelers (and I remember those years well) might be perfectly happy.

I wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked, I didn't sleep well, and there was still a substantial cab ride to the airport. In retrospect, I would have stayed in Madrid at my nicer and more expensive hotel. On the other hand, Hotel Barajas was quite inexpensive, so budget travelers (and I remember those years well) might be perfectly happy.

Hotel is in a rundown part of Madrid, down a back street. Not a nice or safe area. Taxis cost 20 euros to get there from the airport and 30 euros to get back. Staff did their best but forgot to print my boarding pass. The whole experience was depressing.

Excellent hotel choice for anyone flying out of Madrid airport, in Barajas town which is a particularly good place to overnight, especially if using Terminals 1-3. Hotel modern & comfortable and on the corner of Barajas' cafe/restaurant lined central square. This square is also the starting point for bus 101 to Terminals 1-3.

It was very nice, but it would have been better to have a matrimonial bed instead of two separate beds. It would also be nice to have a shuttle service from the airport. I would recommend it better being that it's not easy getting there. Or give people clear instructions to get there by bus.

Woken at 3am by a banging noise.
I was woken at 3am by an incessant banging noise, I had to get dressed and go downstairs to reception to request something be done about it. I managed to drift off again and when my alarm woke me I could still hear the banging but it been muffled somehow. I won't stay at this hotel again.

The location was great and the room was comfortable but there was a lot of noise during the night and early morning, even at 5 am there was people singing loudly on the street and it was difficult to sleep

Reasonable rates and convenient for airport
The hotel was very close to the airport and indeed walkable from terminals 1, 2 or 3 if you are reasonably fit and don't have too much luggage. Terminal 4 not so close, although a free airport shuttle operates between the terminals but as my flight was early I had to get a taxi and I'm not sure if I was ripped off as €20 + seemed excessive - not the hotel's fault I know! That said the reasonable rates offered by the hotel more than compensate for it not having its own shuttle, something which has been criticised by other reviewers.
Other reviewers have also mentioned the lack of sound proofing; this is definitely noticeable to the extent that you can hear every time they flush the toilet in the room above! That said, the single room I had was comfortable enough and more than suited my needs. The staff were excellent and politely tolerated my attempts at broken Spanish.

The hotel room was similar to my expectation, it was basically clean. However, the mattress was a bit too hard and it was sometimes quite noisy outside the corridor at night. The hotel is very close to resturants and tapas bars, you can find a good variety of food. Overall, it is a satisfied stay with budget price.

the positives of this hotel are that 1) the staff is friendly and nice 2) it is so close to the airport 3)you can take a shuttle to the airport for only 1.50 euros per person from the square it is on and 4) you are right on a plaza square with several resteraunts options. That being said, the room smelled so strongly of air freshener that we literally couldn't breathe, which made me wonder if they were trying to mask uncleanliness, the comforter really didn't look extremely clean, and even though we had the air conditioning on the coldest option, my husband and I woke up from being so hot and sweating so much. It did not make the room cooler. If it was priced at maybe 20 euros a night instead of the 45, it would have been more worth it.

Overnight stay in an airport hotel, but this one was different to the usual soulless airport hotels; very close to Madrid Airport (just one stop on the metro from both T4 & T1,2,3 and a short walk), just off a lovely local square with a great selection of bars, tapas and restaurants
