A room full of compromises

This room felt awkward and required constant compromises. While each issue was minor on its own, together they made for a frustrating stay. Floor space was limited, made worse by a large, unusable lamp and a desk in place of a bedside table. Storage was decent, but poorly designed - cupboard doors only opened halfway, and lighting inside was nonexistent. The wall-mounted TV was a head hazard at night. The bathroom had a sink far from the mirror, a badly placed rail, a shower head that wouldn’t stay in place, and you couldn’t close the door with the mat down. The air con couldn’t drop below 26°C during a 36°C day, and the elevators were consistently slow and occupied by cleaning carts. On the bright side, the bed was comfortable and the staff were lovely.

This hotel is quite old and needs to be renewed. Hotel is around unsafe area, rooms are smelly and not clean.
Definitely I am not going to stay in this hotel group. It does not worth its price. Carpark is quite low and narrow.

Room and location was great. staff very helpful and spoke good English . ( my French is only limited) Only gripe in the room was the small too soft pillows which were more like a cushion but the bed was comfy, there was a hot powerful shower and a nice little kitchette.

Quiet location, close to station

Quiet location, less than 10 mins walk to station & airport shuttle, overlooking river, modern, very nice accommodation and friendly staff. Didn’t cook but useful to have sink, kettle and a fridge

Had to ask for the set of complimentary coffee etc & cleaning supplies for kitchenette (cloth, tea towel, cleaner). Air con brought cigarette smell into room at times.

Views of the Loire and well equipped.

The staff at reception were friendly, helpful and spoke fluent English; two lifts were available at all times and the car parking was secure. The room was comfortable, with a large bed, a good TV, a kitchenette with 2 hotplates, a microwave and a refrigerator and a bathroom with shower - all very satisfactory. The only thing that wasn't quite perfect was the air conditioning, which was noisy and not very effective: a pity, as the weather was hot and so were we! That aside, it was a pleasant and quiet place to stay with restaurants and an excellent boulangerie nearby and within reasonable walking distance of the city centre.

I was disappointed with this experience. I was in Nantes for a father - daughter bonding weekend. I took an executive suite. Room: 4/10 the reason I'm being so harsh is that there were little things that could easily have been corrected. The lid for the bathroom bin was broken. The bath was not as clean as it should have been. There was light bulb in the bedroom that didn't work. Reception: Not unfriendly but not particularly polite. No real show of good manners and respect for the client. Maybe snobby not sure what is going on there. Breakfast: 5/10 Very basic. You literally have to ask for everything. Local area: The hotel is actually a bit of a walk from the main street. Taxis were just dishonest. The first taxi at the airport told me he did not know where the hotel was even though the hotel ordered the taxi for me. Another taxi already had 7 euros on the meter even though there had been no waiting time. I had booked 2 nights but was already feeling bad from the experience so left after just one night. I did not ask but the decent thing to do given my complaints about the room the dishonest taxi driver who they arranged etc would have been to refund me the extra night. They did not do it. A disappointing experience.

Great apartment in good location

We spent 5 nights in total in Residhomes and had a great time. The rooms were clean and well-equipped. We used the apartment as a base from which to explore the Loire Valley and neighbouring towns as well as Nantes itself.
Quite hard to find initially as you have to park in a nearby carpark and walk to reception but once located it was straightforward.
Just out of the centre so quiet with great views of the river. Staff were extremely helpful and patient.

The hotel room had a nice kitchenette, which was convenient for evening snacks. The train station was a 7 minute walk, there was a bakery nearby. The hotel overlooks the river which is very scenic. The entrance to the hotel is a bit hidden, but there are signs - trust your GPS!

Location is great...but

We stayed for 5 nights amd while the location on the banks of the Loire was great there were quite a lot of things about the hotel that weren't! Every morning the breakfast was a disaster - little or no food, no clean/set tables to sit at...one morning we waited almost 40 minutes for the bacon and eggs to be replenished. Apparently the hotel, has a policy that if you stay 5 nights or more your room is only serviced once and if you want fresh towels you have to pick them up from reception...this goes for toilet paper too! The staff, in the main were fiendly but inexperienced and in some instances had no idea of what the hotel offered. We took some dry cleaning to reception and were told that the hotel doesn't do it even though there was a bag and price list in the room!

Room was very well equipped for cooking purposes. Bathroom a little disappointing. bath plug ineffective. Also there was inadequate provision of soap for anyone wanting a bath. A liquid soap container in a position only suitable for a shower may provide minimal cost savings for management but certainly attracts a penalty in this review.

No Air Con makes for no sleep

If the room actually had working Air Conditioning it would have been a great hotel, but honestly sleeping in 28C is almost impossible. We stayed 2 nights and after the first night, when we were bitten savagely by the mosquitos who came in through the window, the ONLY source of cooler air, I requested someone to look into it. The lady, although nice said that they couldn't do anything as it as it was the weekend and the person who \"does the air con was away\"...umm whatt??

On our return later in the day the AC was obviously not fixed as the hotel reception was hot too. We Googled it and it appears that Residhome uses a building wide AC system, each room takes cold air from this and if it is off, then everyone is hot. It seems Residhome switches this off to save money.

Otherwise the room was good, freezer was handy and the bathroom was great. Staff were also friendly and the parking secure.

Small room but great views

Took advantage of a last minute reduction of about 35% but thought the accommodation was v small and never good value at the full price. However that was our only complaint and the room was clean and of good quality. The location and views across the River were excellent and the local restaurants alongside the hotel offered good choice and were busy with locals which is always a good sign!

You may have to call for a few things - do not expect magic, but the staff is nice enough and tries hard. I will say that they do not clean every room every day. That is why it is an apparthotel.

So, convenient walk to Cite for a conference. Nice to have a stove etc in the studio apartment. Lumpy pull down bed but else ok. The front desk was so nice when the AC didn't work - and yes I checked all of the safeguard interlocks on all the windows and doors. \"Tap the thermostat\" worked.

SERVICE comes every other or third day. They are nice but only smear around floor debris. I got attitude from the front deskwhen I needed more TP for the diarrhea...

...which I am convinced came from the room tap. DRINK BOTTLED WATER. (It could have been something else the week earlier that didn't show yet. But this is my only option for contamination considering the timeframe. In fact, continual contamination for which I am still paying the price. ) I suggest you rewash the dishes as well - I did not.

Corner rooms are poorly arranged with little space to get by beds. Definitely not for the disabled, never mind for those with small children !!! Rooms were clean but incredibly hot, but not hot enough for the hotel who refused to turn the air conditioning on. It seems cost is more important than their customers. Service is non-existent; unfortunately I was unavoidably delayed and the hotel refused to assist my wife check out the room despite her health issues and the fact she was looking after a baby. They simply said if you want that service go to a more expensive hotel.

Very comfortable hotel with spacious rooms with good cooking facilities. The hotel had staff that spoke english well and were very friendly. There was secure bike storage right beside the hotel, with room for up to 100 bikes. On one side of the hotel are fabulous views of the Loire, on the other the rugby fields.

Upon reservation, I requested a room but I had a studio. No bed, just a hide-a-bed, uncomfortable like most hide-a-beds. The sstudio was so small that I could merely walk around the open hide-a-bed to reach to the rest of the place. Restroom was tiny. In the morning, I decided to roll the bed in to get some space...dust balls under it. Breakfast offers very limited choice. Well located, by the Loire, but there is no mean to enjoy it outside the hotel ! not even a bench !

It was a very nice experience overall. We actually had a mini apartment with a bedroom, a small living area, kitchen in the hallway and a bathroom. It may seem compact by US standards but was quite efficient in its use of space. We had a very nice view of the river and could open window to get fresh air. It is close to everything with a very nice location by the river. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel, our unit had a kitchen and was well equipped. Finding the hotel is a bit harder as its not no the Main Street but entrance faces the river. Parking for the guests was a very confusing and clearly labeled or easily accesible.

Location is good for transit, getting to the SNCF station (5 min walk) and to the airport (30 min door to door) was easy. The city centre itself was a little further than ideal to reach by foot, but I think there is a Busway that goes past the hotel.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, and made use of the attached kitchenette. Everything (bed, fixtures, bathroom) was light, bright, and spotless and of good quality as you'd expect of a 4 star hotel.

Good hotel, needs temperature control in room

Finding this hotel was done using directions from another reviewer, plus the fact that it is a tall grey building with orange and blue paint. We had three rooms, and all of us were too hot. There was no way to turn the heat down from 24 C. The bed was very comfortable, and the location is central. The kitchenette had coffee, tea and hot cocoa - a definite plus.

Pleasant surprise

I selected this hotel because the price was great and it had air conditioning. I didn't realize when I booked that it actually was a residence style hotel, with a kitchen, dishes, refrigerator, etc. Condition was new or nearly new and my room overlooked the river. I often rent apartments for my Euro-visits, so this was perfect and not nearly the hassle. Plus, they have a laundry room. Now, if you don't like to walk, probably not the best location. It's about 5-10 min. walk to the train station, and then of course, Centre de Ville (5-10 min. walk further) is a downtown oriented toward pedestrians and walking.

(But OTOH, the airport tram stops in front of the train station and is only Euro 7.50 to Nantes Atlantique airport. The same taxi ride is about Euro 42.00)

The air conditioning turned out to be comedy -- whenever I turned it on, the temperature went up until I gave up and turned it off. Plus, when you open the window, the system goes off, so you can't run the fan to bring in the river breeze. But nevertheless, I like the price & amenities so much that I will definitely stay there again on my next trip. (I was there first week of September, so hot & humid, 85 deg. F and 80% humidity.)

There is a very chic and popular restaurant in the building -- something of a surprise, because it's not the sort of place you would find by walking past. The parking lot fills up with locals at lunch and dinner.

The hotel is actually part of a football (soccer) complex, but I never figured out what team plays there.

Hotel has wifi, but seemingly would only allow one user for the room at a time.

All of Centre de Ville and the main transportation trams are well within convenient walking distance. Greek fast food even closer, \"Paul's\" sandwich stand in the train station. The closest market I tracked down was the Lidl, and that is a 1/2 hr. trek along the river each direction, but they have the best dark chocolate bars and fantastic wine for Euro 1.80 per bottle.

Nantes is a very lively city with lots of parks, open space and cultural events.

Reception was prompt and professional. The hotel is located behind the football stadium without much indication making it difficult to find as we arrived on bicycle from the airport. There is an excellent view of the Loire River. Located within blocks of the train station and the city centre. We had a room for four (double bed and sofa bed) which limited the space in the room. They had a secure locker to accommodate our bikes. Small kitchenette was clean.

Clean and functional, close to the train station, a nice view of the river and/or the soccer stadium that it's actually a part of. Rooms have kitchens, fridges, etc. Cookie-cutter and charmless, but that's to be expected. The staff are friendly but often stuck in a by-the-books mentality that is contrary to both courtesy and common sense. For example, we arrived early afternoon after 23 hours of travel, were told that 'our' room would not be ready for 3 more hours. I had to ask 3 more times in order to be informed that there were plenty of other IDENTICAL rooms that were in fact available - and then 15 minutes of computer punching to put us into one. The clerk was very polite about this it was absurd to have to go through that process. Otherwise very reasonable, functional, sufficient.

Terrific Hotel within walking distance of city

We were very pleased with our stay at this hotel with a view of the water on one side and the football field on the back side. The hotel and amenities including the kitchenette were all 1st class as was the reception we received as they were all very friendly and helpful. The city centre was only a 15 minute walk away. We did find the hotel was a little difficult to locate but well worth the brief search. Wifi was free but there is a surcharge for parking in a secure garage. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the hotel to others.

The Residhome was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed for 2 nights and would have liked to have stayed longer! The hotel was on the Loire River and the beginning of the Nantes-Brest canal. Beautiful views of the area. Grocery store 2 blocks away and only a few more blocks to the old city. Staff very helpful and the room was very modern, clean and useful. The fully stocked kitchen even had an automatic dishwasher! Loved it!

This hotel is well situated and each suite has some basic cooking facilities so that if you're a bit fed up with eating out, have laundry that needs doing or just want to chill out a bit, it's fantastic. Close to the Nantes Railway station , on the River Loire and within easy walking distance of city centre. Staff helpful.

Difficult to find using a sat nav as a new build on a road not yet on the sat nav database. However put in the road close to it & was then able to see where we needed to go. Tremendous views up & down the Loire river, we were on the 10th floor, and a quiet area. Could walk to all the main places of interest in Nantes.
The breakfast at the hotel was really good in choice & quality and could have as much as we wanted. Also car parking was very secure.
The essential staff spoke English well which helped our limited French. They were friendly & helpful.
Our rooms were of a good size & well equipped and a huge comfortable bed.
Lost a bit on comfort of room due to getting too hot at night with no obvious instructions as to how to control the air conditioning. Have passed this on to hotel & would expect them to act on it. Wi-fi for computer worked very well & free.

Booked as a stopover on the way back from Spain to Calais, we arrived late due to traffic around Bordeaux. No trouble finding the location, but took a while to get them to let us into the car park - which is quite secure. This does cost 12€/day though - a little steep.
Check in was efficient and both members of staff spoke good English. when we got to our room however it wasjust a studio. It was late and we needed to eat, so we headed straight out (no restaurant or roomservice in the hotel) and complained at the reception. At first we weer told that it was correct, but after I insisted we needed another bed for our 3 year old, they admitted the error and said they would fix while we were out for dinner.
Very few restaurants or cafes in the area - it seemd to be a business district, and all the restaurants were closed at 9:30 on a Saturday!
When we got back, we got a key to a new room, which was the one bedroom apartment we had booked. Well laid out, very comfortable and free wifi worked well.
Nantes seemed nice enough, but the lack of places even to get a coffee in the morning meant we ended up in the train station, which is about 10 minutes from the hotel.
Overall nice enough, but nothing special and Nantes was a dissapointment.

The hotel was lovely, really big rooms, we actually had a two room apartment, but the hotel is a little further away from the mainstream city than I thought, but overall the hotel is great and would recommend it, if you don't mind walking.

Hotel in Nantes in an industrial park

Although the hotel is close to downtown, it is situated in an industrial park where there is NOone at night, no stores, or restaurants etc. The bedroom was in a V-shaped and unconfortable. It has a small kitchen but no iron or ironboard. The ventilation in the room was so loud, I could not sleep. I had paid for two nights but I booked another hotel room the second night because I did not want to stay there even if I knew that I was not getting refunded for the 2nd night.

Les 2 chambres étaient dans un état à la limite de l'acceptable : Meuble fendu, revêtement qui se décolle, joint de la salle de bain noir et très sale, poussière partout dans la chambres, pour un 4 étoiles ca ne passe pas.

La struttura nel complesso è valida. Ben organizzata, personale gentile e preparato, ottima colazione, camera pulita, posizione comoda per raggiungere il centro in 15 minuti a piedi.
Necessiterebbe di un ammodernamento. La camera è grande ma per quattro persone un po' stretta e il divano letto poco comodo.

Chambre classique, correctement équipée, avec belle vue (12ème stage!) sur les berges de la Loire; au calme, bonne insonorisation
Propreté des locaux nickel
Seul bémol: pbm de climatisation les 2ers jours, mais réactivité car pbm résolu dès le soir du signalement.
Proximité de mon lieu de formation (à 5min à pied), de la gare (10min) et du centre ville (15/20min)
