Hotel close to areas of interest. On booking should have mentioned stairs and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues… to reception 12 steps, from reception to first floor to get lift was 28 steps. Lift broke down once and had to walk down stairs from 4th floor. This prevented me on going out on occasions as I couldn’t face returning to have to go up 40 steps. The staff, cleaners and breakfast were wonderful. But due to my arthritis this hotel was a huge challenge.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel location is good. Main issue is that although property has a lift you have to climb 2 flights of stairs to get to it. I think this should be made clear when booking. We specifically booked a hotel with a lift as climbing stairs is difficult, Also room only had 1 electrical plug so we had to take turns charging devices. Finally the internet did not work on the last day.

Great location, off the tourist track, yet minutes from all one wants to see in old Lisboa. Can't beat the location. Our room was \"city view\" - looked onto derelect buildings, but that's what made it quiet. Anyway, the views were right around the corner - sights of old Lisboa, monuments, churches, walk or cable cars, cafes, restaurants - loved walking everywhere. Put your cell phone down and just walk!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. We were delighted with the beautiful view from our balcony, which added a special touch to our overall experience. The only downside was the absence of a \"Do Not Disturb\" sign, which unfortunately led to my partner being woken up by room service while he was unwell. Despite this minor inconvenience, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Room very different from those displayed on website - dark, small window and very little floor space. Constant smell of old and damp. Room was also quite loud, and we could hear people as they walked past the room. We were woken up one night by another room coming back. The bathroom had no windows, and the shower hot/cold signals were the wrong way around. The hotel also had a lot of stairs, some unavoidable - certainly not accessible to those with any disabilities/children.
The room had very good air con, keeping it cool. The room was also cleaned each day, with fresh towels.

Don’t do it!
The first impression when walking into this hotel was the overwhelming perfume smell. It burned our eyes. It was so strong. Secondly, the rooms were about the size of a dorm room, and the beds were as hard as a rock. Our room smelled OK, but the other party with us had a sewer smell the whole stay. Other hotels we stayed at in Portugal had some kind of a common room where you could hang out or play cards… This hotel kicked us out of the breakfast nook area, which was really the only place with chairs, so that was disappointing. I really considered taking a loss and finding any other hotel in Lisbon to stay.

Great, very helpful staff at the reception. Excellent location - easy for Uber pick up - parking lot an opposite the entrance, easy for trams, metro and plenty of dining options. Very clean, nice breakfast, relatively quiet (mind you are in the middle of the city). There are a few flights of stairs before you get to the lift, so not very suitable for people with reduced mobility. But great experience overall and definitely would stay again.

Over booked the hotel, didn’t tell us till we arrived that they had moved us to their sister hotel. Reception told us it was a the “nicer” hoteo but as we later found out the room is a closet, maybe a foot all around the bed and a window that looks right at a wall.
The room we had booked we payed extra for an upgraded city view and was a good sized room. No one was very helpful in fixing the issue. They are hoping there’s “maybe” a better room tomorrow but we were not offered any compensation in the meantime.
I am not normally a complainer but in all the hotels I’ve ever stayed in I have never had this happen, not to mention when I book months in advance. Not a great way to be welcomed to a new city and hotel.
Also it is quite disappointing I wasn’t notified of this sooner when I could have canceled and rebooked, it feels like that was an intentional decision as now almost all hotels in area are booked and we are stuck with our closet.

A Short Break in Lisbon
A very friendly and helpful staff, basic hotel but well situated for the centre of Lisbon and easy to get around. Metro station Rossio close by and journey to airport by metro was 35 minutes. The hotel reception was reached by a flight of stairs and a further flight of stairs to the access lift for rooms above. Breakfast was continental at 8 euros each and plentiful. A bagage room is available to leave suitcases on departure days.

The staff at the desk were very nice. We stayed in two different rooms because of a change in plans. One room was supposed to be superior and it was very beautiful but had some drawbacks - the shower didn't drain, the shower head is the kind that could be handheld and it fell off on top of me (causing me to slip and almost fall), there were no trash bins, it was crazy loud at 7am with construction right outside our window (not the hotel's fault but still an issue and in our other room, every time someone closed their door our walls shook and in both rooms the beds were incredibly hard), no drawers to put stuff, the outlet next to the bed didn't work... BUT despite all of that, it's a fantastic location and if you can get an affordable enough price then it's worth it. There's even a small elevator after you go up one flight of stairs.

The main issue we had was the horrendous smell of drains in the bedroom. We didn’t complain when we arrived as it was only light, but as the days passed it got so much worse.
The room apart from that was okay, with the basics needed for a few nights.
View from room was to an abandoned building which wasn’t ideal, and the area around the hotel is quite rough.

They did not have Hair conditioner or bar soap, no glass or coffee accessories in the room, no small amenities in bathroom, no Kleenex, q-tips, in room only one chair. Breakfasts were substandard, nothing hot, no toaster, pastries not so good since there is fabulous pastries in Portugal. The elevator was tiny, no mention of 2 flights of walk up before lobby. Staff was pretty helpful with maps directions and taxis.

Excellent service - we have stayed here before but the warm welcome was definitely appreciated. Lovely room, outstanding view of the castle hill. Room well presented. Only issue was the shower dial which sticks out of the wall by 10cm at just below face height which my friend fell onto after slipping in the shower which gave her a nasty black eye. It was partly her fault for being clumsy but also probably not the best design especially in a hotel. I would definitely stay here again but just take more care in the shower!

- grouting was black in places

The hotel was walkable and the staff was friendly. It is not for people who can’t do stairs as there are a lot of them. It was a simple hotel but it was clean and quiet. The only thing is which it’s not the hotel fault there are a lot of homeless people around the vicinity but you won’t feel unsafe. They leave you alone . Overall it was a good hotel close to everything.

There isn't any restaurants or shops near this hotel but a taxi ride or train ride away you can get to restaurants and shops

The Hotel has no curb appeal, and common areas are limited. It has been remodeled recently and is holding up well. The room is spacious, albeit a bit spartan on the furnishings and amenities. The lift is two dull flights up from street level. and barely accommodates two adults.
The breakfast is good. We like it for its location, Some rooms have a nice view - though these are on the streetside, and are prone to noise. The room rate is excellent for this location, We would return.

It is a clean, basic hotel in a very good location. Staff is very helpful. You have to walk two flights of stairs to get to the elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, it might be difficult. Otherwise it is a good place to stay.

Room originally booked showed picture of two beds and was called \"double standard\" we paid extra for this assuming that there were two beds in the room. We were placed into a room with one double bed. Explanation was given that they do not control what hotels.com uploads as pictures, please keep this in mind if looking at photos of rooms you are potentially wanting to stay in. Beds are very hard, if you do not like a firm bed, look for other place to stay. It is quite noisy outside, keep this in mind if you are looking for a quiet space. Staff was helpful and friendly regarding all inquiries we had. If looking for something just overnight, it is suitable.

This little hotel is in an excellent location. The entire staff was as nice and friendly as anyone could ever want. My room was quiet from most noise. Especially outside. All I heard were birds singing. Except on a Friday night, someone was playing loud music, but it stopped at a decent hour. I did hear indoor noise, people in the hallway, and other rooms. But I’ve been told this is a common thing. Nothing was annoying enough to bother me, as I live in a big city, and sleep in ear plugs, anyway, so as not to be disturbed.
To be fully honest, my room although as clean as a whistle, and neat as a pin, after being serviced by a very sweet lady…was a bit dated. That was not a problem for me. I slept well, every night. Great location on a side street off one of the main squares in the centre. Clean room with effective heating/air con system and no issues with noise. Worth noting that you have to climb 2 flights of stairs before reaching the lift. Rubbish view from my window so you probably need to specify (and pay more) if you want a room on the front of hotel but i didnt mind this time for the low price.

The room was clean and comfortable, with good A/C and wifi, and the bathroom was large and included a bidet. The hotel is old and a bit rundown, and the view was nonexistent, but the location is excellent - in the middle of the Old District near the Plaza Rossio. The best aspect, however, was the super helpful staff who made sightseeing recommendations, gave walking instructions for getting to the Castle of Saint George, and made bookings for me when my phone suddenly quit working.

Location is perfect. Easily accessible during the day to go back and forth. Close to bus and metro. Not quite as fancy as the 5 star hotels but the price is a lot better. Highly recommend. Walking distance to most stuff. Ps. You do have to walk up 2 flights of stairs before the elevator with your luggage so if mobility is an issue, this may not be for you.

Excellent location and very clean. When we arrived they said there was a problem with the booking as although Expedia had placed the reservation they had not confirmed we'd actually paid. I would recommend taking printed confirmation of payment as this is what was required. It was sorted after about 45mins. Not sure who's error this was the hotel or Expedias. Dispite this would recommend a stay here due to the location. Great budget hotel for a shorg break.
