I really loved this hotel. It was just beautiful everywhere. It was a very old hotel, which gave a great character. .You could sit out on the porch and just look into the mountains and relax or have a nice dinner . It was our first time in the area, and I thought the hotel was conveniently located as well, close to many of the sights we wanted to see.

I loved that it was historical and the view was excellent!
Dinner was excellent service but the breakfast wasn’t a great experience because they came to to take drink order and forgot one of the drinks and then we didn’t see our waitress for 39 minutes and we had a toddler, so we just had to leave and go somewhere else.

An historic, quaint hotel nestled in a beautiful setting. Incredible for the price, especially being dog friendly. Staff are so nice and bed is very comfortable. No greater zen experience than either sitting in one of the many rocking chairs on the veranda porch or sitting by the pool listening to the winds through the trees. And Jackson is such a beautiful retreat.

Liked the location and history. Unlike scheduled smores campfire for Wednesday and no staff around to hold the scheduled event. Unlike unfriendly attitude of Chef although food was excellent. 1st day we were offered cookies at check in and I asked in a light hearted manner \"Are they fresh and warm from this morning?\" The girl at desk asked the Chef who was standing nearby and he abruptly said \" They were made today!\" His face was very serious and unfriendly. We moved on. The next day my Wife saw the same Chef on a golf cart and when he passed by at close proximity, she waved and smiled and he did not return the gesture and kept driving by. Simple kindness goes a long way....We will return to the resort but probably eat off property.

The best thing about the property is the location. The rooms seems dated but do have character which we liked. The checkin process was good. The one thing that we had issue was the restaurant. They were severely understaffed and the servers forgot the orders.

I've been cat fished. This place is awful. The promotion photos are from a long time ago. It is a filthy crumbling wreck. It's portrayed as elegant, tasteful and classy. It is the absolute opposite. Everything is chipped, cracked or flaking. The room hadn't been cleaned and the whole place looks like an accident waiting to happen. We left really early just to get out of the place.

While I gather that the place has some age to it but as a former hotel manager, the peeling paint and hair in the sinks and in walls left a lot to be desired. That’s a historic hotel and deserves to be treated better as do her guests.

When I visited during mid June it was still considered off-season so some amenities that I booked expecting (e.g. full breakfast in the am, dining room open at night) were not available. Dinner was only available a few nights a week, but the one night were able to dine there during our stay, the dinner was very good. Unfortunately no hot breakfast was available on any day of our stay, but the hotel did have a complimentary \"continental\" (ie minimalist) breakfast in the lobby.

Otherwise it was an enjoyable stay.

Loved the historical significance and serenity! Beautiful location and they have a nice bar, restaurant and pool. The lobby is very welcoming and when they don’t serve breakfast in the dining room they put out a simple but nice take it with you treat of yogurt and fruit, juice and bagels. You really have everything you need there. Golfers will have something to do as well, there is a 9 hole course on the property. If you are a family of skiers stay at Eagle Mountain House in the winter and Ski Black Mountain, you will have memories that you will cherish a lifetime.

Very cute historic hotel built in 1879, complete with all the creaky floors, wavy window glass, wooden veranda/porch, antique furniture, amazing views, etc that only these grand hotels can provide.
I LOVED sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch looking toward the mountains. The elevator, also original, was a tad \"creepy\" (in a joking way) but very interesting to ride on too.
The beds were just a little too soft for me but were still comfortable enough to get a decent nights sleep. The shower pressure was quite good.
The staff at the front desk, restaurant, and bar were all super friendly and informative. I would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed two nights during New Years — this is the third time we have visited and we always enjoy our stay. The public areas of this property have been totally updated and they are lovely. Rooms were immaculate and cozy as always. Breakfast Buffet is fine but could be a bit more imaginative, and perhaps offer a hot cereal option for those who don’t want eggs. Jackson is a great place to stay that’s a bit away from the business of North Conway, but still an easy drive to visit during your stay.

Disappointed with the buffet style breakfast that cost $25 per person, it was something you would get for free at a Marriot or Holiday Inn. I would be more apt to pay that price if there was an actual menu.

Somewhat pet friendly vibes but no pet waste disposal baskets outside, and when I asked where I should walk my dogs the front desk said somewhere off property.

Would stay again not sure I would do breakfast or bring my pets.

The rooms are old, the bed was okey. But, it seems like the hotel needs a lot of work.
It's a historic place, but, I would appreciate that the structure of the building was better, and the quality of the appliances in the room. It looks like stuff would break. No blower or dryer, no laundry bags.
Food = buffet was okey. Perhaps, it could be expanded. But, it was surprising not to see a lot of people dining.

Staff were courteous. This is a very old inn with a lot of history and charm. They're remodeling/restoring parts of it. The place was beautiful. The staff super sweet and very accommodating. The lounge staff were great and so were the drinks. The food was delicious. Breakfast was phenomenal! MUST have coffee with your special person on the front porch. The view with the fall foliage was out of this world! 10/10 would go back.

Interesting very old creaky property, uneven floors (due to age) and an original early 19th century lift!
Room was comfortable, although lacking in quality - sofa bed was very uncomfortable to sit on. I think the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment, although our room was old and tired - a large TV in both bedroom and lounge area, although lacking in electrical outlets, hence the multiple adaptors!
Bathroom was very small and cramped, and the WC was almost underneath the sink!
Despite being advertised as daily housekeeping service, this was not the case; it did happen after we requested it - although a sweet wrapper (nor ours) was behind a table lamp for the whole of our stay.
The buffet breakfast on our first morning was very poor, so much so that we subsequently had breakfast out each day. We ate in the hotel on 3 evenings, but on the last occasion my wife was unwell. The menu was also quite limited. The bar was good, with an excellent server.
During our stay the hotel obviously had a sewerage problem, which permeated the main corridors for nearly the entire stay - fortunately, it did not penetrate our room.
Front desk staff were not always friendly or helpful, and checkout was very slow as even the manager seemed unable to operate the computer system.

As in other reviews the rooms are starting to look a little tired. The fridge was freezing anything in it which was annoying but likely an anomaly. The downstairs has been recently refurbished which is good. The barman was excellent and couldn’t be more helpful. The tavern was great and had a nice atmosphere. We did feel the additional $25 a night resort fee was a bit of a con, apart from a cookie it seemed to account for all things that are usually included in your average hotel stay eg WiFi, tea and coffee facilities (in your room usually) and gym. Additionally there is no housekeeping once you’ve arrived - 3 nights in and it would have been great for the bin to have been emptied etc. It’s a nice hotel not a motel so housekeeping would have been something we expected for the price. Location is beautiful and staff were helpful, on arrival the room was clean. The elevator was clearly historic and part of the charm. We enjoyed being able to sit out on the veranda in the rocking chairs.

This property is a treasure. We stumbled upon it as we were coming out of Maine late at night. It is a historic property with an antique elevator and metal keys for each room. The grounds are beautiful and the workers were hard at work to keep it up. There were signs of wear, but we were still impressed and expressed the desire to bring my mother-in-law who would definitely enjoy the historic aspect. The area around this property in NH is gorgeous. We will be back. I will say my 18 year old son struggled to appreciate the hotel's age. My 21 year old daughter enjoyed it as well.

After looking at a lot of hotels, we lucked out choosing the Eagle Mountain house. The hotel is beautiful, clean, with nice size rooms, great food, great golf, and in a great area todo stuff. The staff is welcoming and nice. Would stay here again and again. Make sure you take the time to sit on the front porch and relax. Use the brand new gym, play some ping pong in their game room. Ride the coolest elevator ever. Place is a gem.

A really nice old property in the mountains. The staff was all fantastic. I loved getting coffee on the porch and watching the sunrise in the morning. Only about a quarter mile from Jackson falls. There is a trail coming off the parking lot that is pretty challenging.

The location was perfect, tucked away in the foothills of the mountains with spectacular views. I love that this is a historic hotel, one of four remaining of the grand old wooden hotels in the White Mountains. The lobby, restaurant and bar was beautiful, well appointed and recently updated without ruining the historic charm. The rooms on the other hand really need to be updated. We had a king suite and the living room looked like it was last updated on 1975. The sofa and chairs we extremely uncomfortable. The bedroom was the same, badly in need of a quality update. Nowhere to plug into next to the bed, just two prong extension cords running under the bed. The bathroom as OK, missing handle for the crank window, no hook for a hand towel, the tub was chipped and the shower had no adjustments. Fire hydrant on or off were the choices. The pool was attractive but freezing. We had dinner one night, it was a mixed bag, good rolls and salad but the salmon was mushy and over cooked, I think it was frozen. Unfortunately, the coffee was horrible, worse than horrible and the breakfast buffet was kind of a bad joke. We wanted to love the place and parts of it we did. The staff was fantastic, 100% rating for everyone we encountered but if they can't improve on the food and room experience I suspect they will be going out of business within a few years.

The hotel was beautiful!! Well appointed if not a bit dated. Large golf course attached. Breakfast wasnt included and for the price i was charged, the buffet was lacking. It was very dark and tucked over in a corner. I had to guess what a couple things were because there was no lights on in the dining room. The food I did have was good but not worth the cost. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely go again!!

This is a quaint old inn in a beautiful setting. The furnishings are period appropriate and charming. The restaurant was top notch, and our dinner was delicious. The staff was cordial. The one complaint I have is that I was charged a $25 “Amenity fee”. When I questioned this, I was told it was because I used a third party to book the reservation. Never ever have I experienced this! Therefore, I was left with a very bad impression. I guess if I want to stay again, I will call directly.

This was likely my 20th stay at Eagle Mountain House, I absolutely love the hotel, but this was the first time in all of my visits that I was assigned a room I did not like, I did book the least expensive room, I realize this, but the room was very small, I'd say an attic room, with the ceiling very low and slanted in one area making it necessary to duck down quite low to get into bed or you would hit your head, I'm short 5'3\" and I needed to duck down, we were only staying one night so I didn't change rooms. That was very disappointing, it was an anniversary trip and we avoided being in the room as much as we could.
