Externally, the place is badly in need of a facelift. The outdoor pool and mini-golf are tragically run-down. The indoor pool may have been better, but we didn't use it. The hot tub was out of commission. Breakfast was decent, it checked the box: pre-made hash browns, sausage, and eggs, good coffee, juices, pastries/cereal. Staff was lovely, grounds are nice, and the view is beautiful. Our room was pretty good but had a bit of an interesting smell. The bathroom sink faucet was stuck, requiring strong effort (two hands) to turn on and off. The room key (still a physical key) does not open the back door to the \"porch\" so be careful not to lock yourself out. Overall we had a nice stay, apart from some minor distractions and inconveniences.

Not like I remember 38 years ago. They stated outdoor pool closed for the season however when I looked at pool from a distance pool looked pristine and ready for business.check in was a little rocky, partially my fault, I booked two nights separately the staff combined bookings to one, beginning of second day house keeping knocking on the door thinking we had checked out.

The hotel needs to update. We stayed there years ago and it still looks the same. The second floor stairs has one loose, the indoor pool, the ceiling needs to be fixed, the bed was not comfortable. We had a great view of the mountains, unfortunately, the outdoor pool was not working. They just really need to upgrade and fix some of the outside.

Staff was welcoming and very helpful. The resort is slightly aged but has aged well you could say. Rooms were quiet, especially for a holiday weekend. I had reserved 2 rooms, one room did have dried urine on the toilet seat and the other had a completely broken box spring. Breakfast was good. Check in and check out were very easy. The view was ok, i had mountain view rooms but there are a lot of tall trees that block the mountains. There are no coffee makers in these rooms but the coffee available in the breakfast buffet was good.

We love this budget friendly property. A little outdated but always clean and nice staff! Secluded off from the main road for a real NH feel and beautiful views. It’s very family friendly with a pool, playground, free mini golf, arcade etc.

The hot tub was out of order . The pool was open but you were not allowed to bring any toys in. Our ac smelled so badly we could not use it and ended up sweeting a lot . The “buffet breakfast” was absolutely disgusting . The “eggs” were not edible , the “French toast” was just toasted hard swirled bread . Saddest breakfast I’ve ever experienced ! The room ac was the reason we would never go back . The smell was absolutely disgusting.
I was worried we would get sick from there being mold in there so we opted to not use it and woke up extremely sweaty and miserable. The screen door was broken and not on a chain so when my granddaughter went to go inside it came back and “bit her” ankle and she ended up cut up and scraped and cried .
Went down for a bandaid and the bandaid was from years ago I’d assume since it did not stick.
Unfortunately, we will not be back here.
The pool was very large and very deep and opened until 9pm which was nice . It was also very warm inside the pool area and the pool itself .

Hotel is very run down, the amenities are a joke, mini golf is cement and unkept, pool not too clean and hot tub hasn't worked in over 6 months. Breakfast included hmmm consists of hash brown patties, microwaved eggs and undercooked bacon/sausage. Ice machine leaks everywhere so you best bring boots if you want to get ice. Staff was non-existent every time I went to the desk no-one was present. While it is pet friendly and rather inexpensive, the grounds and hotel are not well maintained.

We have stayed here for years and this is the first time I will be looking elsewhere for our next trip. The jacuzzi was not operational and not told that when we checked in. Soda machines were sold out or out of order. Breakfast was ok I had cereal and got burger king for kids. Needed a good cleaning felt like a long winter took its toll. Had to pay 100 extra for a room I had requested at check-in. The pool needs a good cleaning. The deck off the room had nails sticking up and broken lounge chair. The deck and building need a good painting. We stayed in room 259 last time and 207 this time. Each had a separate room with a twin beds which kids loved. Definitely a must for anyone with kids they have their own TV. Feels like so much more space. Room was clean but needs a deep cleaning. Door had to be slammed shut. Overall I wish the jacuzzi was working that's what I had hoped to enjoy.

The staff were friendly. The room was absolutely disgusting. There was black mold all in the bathroom. I had to turn off the heater/ac in the room there was so much dust/dirt ect caked inside that it made me and my children stuffy and coughing all night long. My son is still coughing and we left hours ago. Also this morning when my son woke up he pulled the blanket all the at back on the bed he slept in and there were crumbs and hairs all in the bed near the bottom. It was very obvious the bedding had not been changed. I had very high hopes for this place but we did not have a good stay.

Hot tub has been broken for years with no plans to fix. Seeing as this was the main purpose of booking here we were very disappointed that the listing was not updated. Overall the entire establishment is very dated and in need a renovation. Motel is a better description than resort. Manual key for each door, HVAC system made loud cackling sounds all night and children running around on top of us till midnight. Just not the vibe I expected from the Expedia listing. The staff was fine and the breakfast was ok.

The staff was courteous. There was no lighting between the parking lot and the check in desk. A far walk in the icy darkness. The hotel is old, dated, in need of upgrades and dirty. The picture of my room showed a Mountain View, but there is none. The towels are old, thin and scratchy. The furniture is all cheap quality, damaged from many years of vacuuming. There is no towel hanger by the sink. The temperature was set at 60 degrees when I got in the room and it’s 20 degrees outside. Very cold in the room. Took an hour to get warm. Obviously a struggling old property. Not recommended for the price. Many better hotels in the area for less money. Used to live in town for 22 years, but had never stayed here. Thought I’d give it a try. That was a mistake.

The facility is very run down and has not been maintained. The pool was not clean. The common areas had trash at the entrance that was not cleaned up the whole time we were there. The toilet in our room was not stable. The shower had mold, the tiles were about to fall off and it took two hand as to turn the water on. The room had a layer of dust on the baseboard and under the bed showing it was not properly cleaned for a long time. The carpets un the common hall ways were ripped and black with soot.
There was a large whole in the ceiling at the main desk and cold air was lowing in.
It's sad they do not care to maintain the prperty as it is on a premium location.

The interior needs a serious cleaning, painting and upgrade. Hot tub hasn’t worked in a long time but is still listed as an amenity. Staff are not friendly. We prepaid so we stayed the 3 nights. Would not of otherwise. If you just want a place to sleep then this place is just ok. But be aware prices double on the weekends.

The hotel was not clean. the hot tub was broken, the pool was very dirty where we could not use it. Rust in the tub. The handles on the tub were extremely hard to turn on. Was unable to turn on. We booked a Mountain View room and we got a first floor garden view overlooking a dead garden. Our room did not have a deadbolt because it looked like it was kicked in. We went to the front desk to address our concerns and try to get a refund or change rooms and the front desk receptionist was of no help she refused to help us at all and told us to go through Expedia for a refund. the only good thing about this hotel is that it was close to where we wanted to go. We would like a refund from Expedia. This was one of the WORST hotels we have ever stayed in. We felt very unsafe at this hotel.

We were blown away by the \"continental breakfast\" offered in the morning. In most hotels, that would involve a granola bar and maybe coffee. In the Fox Ridge Resort, it was a full on buffet breakfast with numerous, delicious choices. There were eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links or patties, and many juice options. It was a very pleasant surprise.
The parking left a lot to be desired; there was plenty of it, but a bit of a walk back to the resort. It's on the same property but away from the buildings. We arrived after dark and although the parking lot itself was lit up, the walk back to our room was WITHOUT LIGHT WHATSOEVER. There should be an investment in path lighting at the very least.

We checked the property way before our check in time and we are glad we did. Because when we finally arrived at 7pm we couldn’t see a thing outside. The are NO lights. Yes, there are some poles with bulbs here and there but they barely function. Had to use our phones flashlights to find the way from the parking into the building. Later looked outside from our balcony- complete darkness. Can’t believe they call it a resort.

It was just ok. The room was fine. It was not exceptionally clean but it was ok. The included breakfast was decent and the coffee was not terrible but it wasn't refreshed either. Several times I went to get coffee in the evening and it was cold. Luckily there was a microwave to heat it up. The room was ok. The bed was well worn. The room felt like it was touched up rather than cleaned. The bathroom and one of the beds had hair on it that was certainly not mine. They do not clean or refresh the rooms during your stay. If you need anything, you need to go to front desk. It was definitely an older property and there is no parking near the rooms. Many break this rule which is a fire hazard but the lighting on the property is not maintained which means you are walking from the lot to your room in the dark. Overall the property was quiet and the staff were friendly, there just wasn't a ton of them. If you are looking for a quiet place on a budget it's not a bad bet to stay here.

Hotel did not have our reservation. Then they found our reservation but gave us a different room than we requested. Our room's deadbolt chain had been torn off the door frame. The bathroom tiles were very worn and the tub was stained. There was hair found under our pillows and tucked into the sheets of both beds. The property is extremely dated and worn out. I stayed here as a kid and was looking forward to going back, but I wouldn't go again, it was sad to see it in such a state.

I loved the place, however, they lied about the hot tub. We read the reviews where people said that the hot tub was not working so we called the property and they lied to us saying that everything is working (including hot tub) but we arrived the next day hot tub was shut down. Anyways, besides that the rest was very good, breakfast delicious, rooms nice (outdated but nice), staff friendly and helpful. Loved it here.

Manger. We went out for the day and when we came home at 7:30 PM, the room was still not cleaned… had to have a very nice guy at the front desk come and give us pillows, towel towels, and new shower curtains

The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful, very helpful and attentive..
But.....when we walked to our room at this former \"resort\" we were shocked at how deeply it had fallen into disrepair... the buildings were overly worn and run down.
Then we entered the room and honestly were afraid to put anything down. All i can say is DIRTY. Just plain dirty..
It was not cheap and they were checking people and families in one after another..
We left and found a nicer place

We came to stay at FoxRiver Resort from Newport, RI. The pictures displaying the facility on the internet are ment to give a more pumped look than what you will actually find.
Overall cleanliness of the property is pretty low
Found signs of not changed bed sheets in the room (like hair or crumbles)
Breakfast.. far from decent
So just throw another hundred in the budget and take care of yourself

The hairdryer on the wall was broken and the tv remote was broken. They did have them replaced the same day. If you are looking to stay in a 70’s run down hotel, then this is the place. The breakfast did look good.

The room was reasonably clean and beds were good. But the facilities overall are in DESPERATE need for repairs/updates. Both pools were filthy, crumbling cement with bad furniture surrounding it. The hot tub was broken. The overall smell is a sign of the rugs and furnishings needing to be replaced. It looks like it could be a great hotel if they spent the money on it. Don’t make the mistake of paying over priced amounts for crumbling buildings like us!

We enjoyed our four day stay to the Fox Ridge resort, though it does appear this resort has started to become more rundown compared to the years prior that we have visited. The customer service was excellent, there was always a smile when we were greeted, and a thorough explanation upon our check-in of all the amenities available.
We would definitely stay here again, though I hope they consider replacing the carpet to an easier to clean flooring in the future! That would certainly help improve the overall feel.

It’s ok at first then we went to look at the room and we ask for a Mountain View, but actually we didn’t get it until we went to the customer service desk and they finally gave us another room which we can barely see Mountain View, which is all right the room we stay was terrible as well. We got our stuff stolen. The room was 119 and it was bad.

The property has excellent amenities, and very kid / family friendly. Some of the things are outdated and could use a little love but it didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay. Picture perfect and the breakfast was superb. clean, nice, welcoming, homey. highly recommend.

I liked the breakfast buffet, it was clean, very organized, and had many choices. Room was clean with great views of the nearby mountains. Did not care for the indoor pool and hot tub because it really needs to be redone, especially the hot tub. Another reviewer summed up the hotel and I agree, \"It reminds me of the places my parents brought me when I was a child.\"

We were supposed to have two queen beds and we had two double beds. We paid for a mountain view room but the porch was in such poor condition and the railing was loose and it was not safe so we werent able to sit out there. In addition, there are several hornet nests on tbe porches and outside of the building.
The bed frames are extremely sharp and stick out and two of us cut our legs just getting into bed.

The outdoor pool needs care- you cant see through to the bottom of the deep end , the paint is chipping on the floor and sides and its sharp, and theres mushrooms and moss growing on the sides of the pool.
