The family suite was a great room for a stay with children. The murphy beds were comfortable enough for the kids and the king bed was great for the parents. The staff were great, juan the server at Los Moreales was great offering the best service we experienced. Geo and Danna at the kids club became quick staples to the kids trip always offering some diverse activities when a break was needed from the pool and beach. The staff was always welcoming and never felt pushy or rude. They were genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable. The food was great, especially the restaurants with reservations, the buffet was solid and themed every night... all around a fantastic resort. Highly recommend it, will be back!

I want to leave an honest constructive criticism of this property. There are tons of pros and a few cons but want to share our experience.

If you are looking for any type of beach vacation, this is not the resort for you. They have no beach whatsoever. The hurricane a few years ago wiped it out. They have a plan but no one seems to know a timeline. The beach to the north in front of other resorts is much better and is walkable. This is a property with a lot of pool time which works great for some.

The rooms were always clean and housekeeping was good, not great. We tipped $100 pesos every day for housekeeping and there was nothing special but just really clean. The pool and beach servers were always on the ball and friendly and never felt like we waited. The bartenders were very friendly both at the pool bars and the lobby bar. All around great staff. Special thanks to Saul at La Palapas for reading my mind and bringing me a plate of bacon. It was like magic. Also praise to Moises, Jesus, and last but not least the Kinoko host Francisco. The food was delicious at Las Murales steakhouse. I had the wagyu ribeye and it was the best steak I’ve ever had in Mexico and I’m from Alberta, the steak capital of the world. Kinoko Japanese was excellent especially the Teppanyaki experience with the chef. Omelettes were the breakfast peak and the bacon was always crispy. Lattes were good as well and was quick. Overall I’ve been to almost a couple dozen resorts over the years from 4 star to 4 diamonds and this one was pretty epic considering the property itself was older (2006 I think?) and the beach was no bueno. The cleanliness, staff and the food made up for the few shortcomings. Would come again.

Room was outstanding, food was high quality and varied, and the staff were great. I enjoyed to low-key vibe, great service, and effort to provide a slightly upscale experience. My only issue was the terrible beach. It’s completely eroded and covered in seaweed. If you’re looking to spend time on the sand and in the ocean, look elsewhere. It’s a shame because otherwise this place was great.

The room was good and clean. The buffet restaurant where you had to eat breakfast everyday was awful and disgusting. The food was so bad we’d get a cab to town and eat at a restaurant.
The hostess and the manager at the steak and seafood restaurant were arrogant and ignorant and would never work with you to make a reservation. The answer was always “NO”
The teppanyaki sushi restaurant was quite good with great staff. The pizza restaurant was decent a the Mexican restaurant was wasn’t good at all.
They need to step up their food as of right now it was very mediocre at best.
Their computers and pay machines at the front desk won’t accept Canadian credit cards it debt cards and it’s an ongoing issue according to front desk staff but yet nothing gets done about it.
And the beach has been washed away compared to the pictures on their website.

Got an upgrade to the one bedroom villa with balcony hot tub and full kitchen, a nice perk to start our week. Rooms spotless. Staff very friendly. Buffet lots of variety, they always have kid friendly items. Sometimes the lunch grills get busy and you have to wait from 45-60 min for your food, but they get you drinks quickly and other times the wait is only 15 min. Don’t expect to swim in the ocean here. The beach smells a bit from seaweed and there are urchin and jellyfish warnings. Not a big deal as the pools are plentiful and immense. There are beaches just adjacent to the resort for a nice sunset stroll. Kids club was amazing, our son wanted to do activities there every day. Talented live entertainment. The beach is small so if you want long stretches of swimmable beaches look elsewhere otherwise this place if beautiful, the grounds very well kept. An amazing week.

Fantastic stay! The beach was beautiful and well maintained, food was delicious, rooms are ample and super clean.

We had previously stayed at Royal Haciendas in 2023 and did not have a great experience - we thought we would give this place another try and have nothing but great things to say about our stay in 2026.

Once of our guests experienced an injury while at the resort and I can not highly recommend the Dr. on site enough - he is very thorough and genuinley cares about his patients.

Hotel management went above and beyond during our stay.

Also - would like to give recognition to a few staff members who made our stay extra special. Our kids loved the kids club and Danna, Diana, Kitzia, and Geo made their week. Alejandro at Kinoko restaurant provided great service all week long as well!

We loved our stay at the Royal Haciendas! Having the all inclusive was definitely worth it, the food was great and drinks were delicious. We were so impressed with how clean everything was, not just our room but the property. Staff were continuously cleaning and doing projects to keep the resort lovely. The staff for the kids club were amazing, we participated in the face painting, pinata making, and pinata party- our daughters had a blast! I can't give enough praise to how nice the staff were, so many people were amazing. Oscar really stood out to us as we left our toddlers spoon at breakfast, he washed it and when he saw us later on the resort brought it to us. Oscar engaged with our kids and made them laugh, he was a delight to talk with. Hector, Josefina, and many others were also wonderful! I think the only thing I would say would be that the hot tub could be warmer and it would be nice if you could make reservations for Los Morales and Kinoko a few days in advance instead of the day of but other than that everything was amazing!

Just ended our stay at The Royal Haciendas. The 10 days flew by. The set up is unique… one side is a little more ‘busy’ and the other more relaxed. Lots for you to do and no extra charges… played tennis, beach and pool volleyball, kayaked, boogie boarded, played Texas hold ‘em poker, evening entertainment.
You can participate as much or as little as you want. The staff is very friendly and do their best to meet your needs. Our room was clean and well maintained. Definitely a place to return to again.

The resort is super clean and very family oriented! Our kids loved the kids club and water park. The staff is absolutely amazing and friendly.

However, It's unfortunate what has happened to their beach and all the seaweed present. We did not like the view of the large sand blocks in the water, it's hard to avoid seeing sitting on the beach. We do wish that there were shows at night white there wasn't anything to do after dinner other than walk around or go back to the room.

Room layout was perfect for a family of 6. The resort was immaculate, staff were very friendly and food was superb. There are tons of activities for all ages, plenty of pools to cool off and a decent sized beach, despite erosion issues. The rental shop is well equipped with sports equipment, decently equipped fitness centre and we would highly recommend booking a tour with Jesus onsite at the resort. Seamless vacation, would book there again in a heartbeat!

I personally had an amazing time overall. The room was spotless, the food was great, and getting restaurant reservations was easy. What made me uncomfortable was the repeated pressure to attend a timeshare meeting. Even after I said no multiple times, it wasn’t respected. The employee emphasized that this was how he makes his living and attempted to guilt-trip us into attending the meeting. There was also a heavy emphasis on members, which made it confusing why non-members are allowed to book. That part took away from an otherwise great experience.

The good: site was very clean. Phase 2 pool was pleasant and relatively quiet. The two speciality restaurants (kinoko and los murales) were reasonably good but avoid the tacky “teppanyaki” tables at kinoko. Desserts were consistently (weirdly) good. Water is safe to drink (filtered) and they were generous with handing out bottles of water as well.

The bad: staff were mostly pretty unfriendly and only motivated by tips.

Food was just awful at the buffet and poolside restaurants: cold, greasy, flavorless. Constantly asked about food allergies (twice per meal) but people who actually did have allergies said they didn’t really do anything anyway and had to ask for help figuring out what was safe for them to eat at the buffet and from the menus. You can order off a menu instead of eating from the buffet but they don’t make it easy to find out what they have - menus aren’t offered and you kind of just had to gradually figure it out.

There was no bar with a pleasant ambience to relax in (poolside restaurants ONLY have swim-up bars, Rotonda is loud and uninviting). Phase 1 pool had horrible loud activities all day. “Ocean view” rooms showed a microscopic sliver of ocean and were far away. The beach is non-existent due to erosion.

Two-class society with timeshare people getting treated better than casual vacationers.

We tried to move to a different hotel after the first day but they denied us any refund at all. I would have paid a one day penalty but not the entire week.

This all-inclusive resort offers a convenient location for visiting Xcaret Group parks, making it easy to explore those attractions without much travel hassle. However, the restaurant selection is very limited, and securing reservations is extremely difficult unless you're a member of the property. Entertainment options and kids club activities are also quite sparse, leaving little for families to enjoy on-site.

We had to move rooms, which we knew was a possibility. But it was a cluster. The front desk told us one thing, the luggage people told us another, and it seemed like no one really knew what was going on with that.
In addition, dinner reservations were stupid. And another thing that everyone we talked to had a different answer. One person told us we could only make a reservation for that day (not future days), and we couldn’t get anything until 9pm. Then we couldn’t even get a reservation one day, even though we called as soon as the desk opened. And the person said: why didn’t you make reservations for every day you’re here on the first day? But we couldn’t! The lack of communication/different info was very frustrating to us.

This is more of a family resort. We’ve stayed at many AI in many areas of Mexico & Caribbean. Is very clean & the staff are all very friendly. Our 1 BR villa was spacious w/OV. Full room service pretty much anytime of the day; enjoyed ordering breakfast & eating on our deck. We had full kitchen so could heat up anything. Staff go above & beyond to make sure you’re having a great time. During the day, guests are having a great time, however it shuts down at night. Not much to do at night. There are a few early shows but nothing open late. The sports bar area is open until 11pm, but still very quiet. The area around the hotel seems very safe. There are nice sidewalks to walk/run outside of the resort. The Gran Coyote golf course nearby is beautiful. Book through the concierge at the hotel there is a significant savings to golf $160/18 holes plus they have clubs to check out at the hotel & save $75/person for rentals at the golf course. They also pick up & return from the golf course. We found this to be great in comparison to other places we’ve stayed/played. The food is okay. Reservations at the restaurants are not guaranteed at all. Very few top-shelf liquors on AI package but they have a big drink menu if you don’t mind cheap liquors. No one under 18 allowed at any of the bars (which was nice for us adults). Can walk the beach in both directions but is a bit of maneuvering around rocks/sand bags, etc. They’re trying to preserve the beach with huge, unsightly sand bags

Hotel was great, very quiet and it felt almost empty even though they said was at 75% capacity. plenty of swimming options. 2 food bars by each pool and the waiters were very fast and always available. Great for kids. Keep in mind they close down everything by 10 pm every night and there is nothing to do but its very quiet.

The Royal Hacindas presents itself as an all-inclusive beachfront resort, but the reality was completely different. However, upon arrival and during my stay, it became clear that these claims were materially false and misleading, including but not limited to:
•The beach front did not exist
•Advertised amenities were unavailable or often not available
•Photos did not reflect the actual condition of the property

Amenities were catered more for kids, and even those were frequently closed. Cleaning staff had to be asked for clean towels, toilet paper, and basic supplies. The all inclusive did not include all, and the food was not the best. Staff were very rude, were adamant on tips despite tipping already being included, and lacked acknowledgement to be served at the restaurants.

The room condition was decent and spacious, however the toilet was not sealed to the floor and hot water was limited. For the price charged, this stay was unacceptable. I would advise others to avoid this place until major improvements are made.

This is a very large resort. Two “phases” with two pool areas and two hot tubs on each side. Food was fine, typical all inclusive. We did hibachi and didn’t love it. Overcooked steak and chicken. Salmon was great though! Not sure why they put bean sprouts in everything.
Palapa buffet was good for breakfast.
Service is always great here.
Very clean resort.
Wish the hot tubs would actually be hot. They are only warm. Or turn up the heat from 7-10pm and have it be adults only at that time or something.
Beach (although I know this isn’t just a problem for this resort) is an issue. Beach is almost non existent.
If you are looking for a big beautiful beach, this is not the place.
This is a family friendly resort with activities going all day.

This is a time share. Upon checking in, the concierge will try to convince you to attend their information session, and will offer you all sorts of discounts. Be careful not to sign anything without reading the fine print as there are charges if you do not attend their session. The all-inclusive package is not worth the over inflated cost. You will spend money anyhow on tips. A-la-carte you'll have more control and spend less. Most of the food is appalling and you will wait a while for service. Only the two main restaurants were good, but again, the \"premium plates\" had additional exaggerated costs. The beach is mostly unusable as erosion is eating up the shore, but we keep denying climate change so this is what happens. We had a good time regardless since we don't let marketing schemes spoil our fun. Rooms are clean and pools are ok. Just know this is a time share, which we didn't know and we wished someone would have told us before hand.

We booked for two nights with All inclusive package. Clean room, staff and service were great. Amenities and kids activities were enjoyed by our two children (8 and 4). Many pools to enjoy and drinks were great.

Things to improve:
-We felt lack of vegetarian or vegan food options on both nights that we stayed here.
-They tried to pitch for time share as soon as we arrived when we were tired with 6 hr travel, with kids and no sleep! I wouldn’t do that to your guests- try the next day instead.

Things to be aware of:
- there was no beach area to enjoy. The water is too close to the hotel
- with all inclusive package, you can train for scuba in the pools

Upon arrival the bell boys never helped with our luggage, and we had to go up flights of stairs, unless you plan on purchasing the timeshare the restaurants reservations will never be available, we went the whole trip and only available to book a restaurant one night at 9pm. Last night we were there we received an email stating the airport transfer company the hotel provided us with was cancelling our 5am transfer. We had to get a taxi from the hotel where they said because it was a holiday it was double price. They charged us $260 for my family to be taken to the airport. Will never recommend one back to this resort.

Room and hotel in general was very clean. Lots of outdoor activities to do like basketball, pickleball, tennis or soccer. The shows were really for adults only aside from one and service staff was friendly for the most part. This is a time share property as well, so it would have been nice knowing that preferential treatment is given to those members when booking a la carte dinners. It was an overall pleasant experience for a family with 4 adults and 2 kids.

The property is absolutely beautiful. Everything is so clean and well taken care of. Everyone is so friendly and hardworking. The daily activities for adults and kids was awesome! The rooms and housekeeping did such a good job at having our room cleaned everyday. Everything was spacious and felt massive. We really didn’t even have to go anywhere everything you need is at the resort. The beach was well cleaned. It’s small compared to the other beaches. But luckily you can walk to other public beaches that are so beautiful, safe and walkable. First time there and already talking about making it an annual tradition! Sad to leave.

Room was clean, food was great and products they offer are of the best brand,/quality. Their shows are fun to watch and dancers do a great job. kids clubs have tons of activities. Overall we had a great time, we were not huge fans of was the beach but it seems they are working on restoring it. It was also a bit hard to get reservation at their speciality restaurants. Overall great hotel.

We did like the pool which was a bit heated. There were 2 pools actually. Having lunch by the pool and waiters attending to us was nice. They did a great job there. The beach was small though. They lost a lot of beachfront. The promo videos are old. The beachfront is 1/3 what it was. Too bad. But the property was great. We played pickleball every morning. Met a lot of cool people. It was a great experience. We stayed in late November early December. It was quiet but picking up by the end of our stay. There was 1 buffet restaurant and 2 a la carte. It would seem like it would be too small for high season. Glad we came at a quieter season.

The staff was more than courteous, helpful and very accommodating. The grounds were beautiful. Plenty of options and choices for dining. When I compare the property to the Royal Sands that I have stayed the last two years, there are a lot of maintenance issues especially the pool area. Floors and windows needed a lot more attention to cleaning. That being said I enjoyed my stay and would visit again in the future.

Hands down the worse resort we have stayed at in Mexico. We traveled with 4 kids, two of which are infants and had to move rooms after the first night. Had to check out at 11 and didn’t have another room until 4pm. My kids couldn’t nap, bathe, nothing for hours. Second, I was scheduled for a massage at 7pm. When I arrived, they told me they were running late and couldn’t get me in until 730pm. I had dinner reservations and this was not going to work. They didn’t call to inform of this and refused to give me a refund. I had to contact my bank to fight the charges. The customer service was absolutely horrible. If you have the choice, simply go somewhere else. This place is not worth your money

Our kids loved the kids club so much that we had to tell them they couldn’t go to kids club on the last day so we could spend it as a family. The food was also great. Very happy with the friendly staff.

We either booked at the perfect time or the facilty is just that spacious that we never felt over crowded or like there were too many people. It was the perfect quiet vacation spot for our laid back family. The room was amazing and our housekeeper was the sweetest, I wanted to bring her home with us! The beach does have some errosion, but completely not the resorts fault and it is walkable to more open less erroded beach space. Would stay here again and again.

We travelled here with two young kids. We felt safe our entire stay and every pool had fun to offer. Property was beautifully kept and rooms clean. Food was great, we had one gluten free traveller with us who was well accommodated throughout the trip.

The beach is eroded but there are still spaces to sit by the ocean, go for a quick dip, and build sandcastles.

The only other drawback is the rather continuous pressure to attend the timeshare talks but after a few days it was realized we were not interested.

We also had to use the hotel Doctor during our stay and he was very helpful and provided excellent care

The room and the facilities were nice. The staff was always good. Everything was well maintained.
The buffet restaurant was just okay. I have definately been to better. The beach is horrible, basically non usable. If you are wanting to stay in that area you might as well save some money and stay at an inland resort. The beaches are that bad right now.
I would probably give 4 stars if the beaches were not so bad.
