Overall our trip was good. We travelled as a family with a seven year old. I'll start with the hits.
1) the evening entertainment good
2) pools were good
3) rooms were good
4) overall the resort is nice, clean and organized. lots for the kids to do and plenty for the adults also
Misses
1) food was really hit and miss. Maybe they just had an off night but the food at the Japanese restaurant was terrible. We went to the buffet after. If going to the steakouse, have the fish. The buffet? Well, some good some bad. you'll figure it out but there was always something decent to eat. The beach restaurant and the mexican restaurant were great (have the Pibil at the mexican)
2) the beach is basically unusable....so many rocks at the shore make it very difficult to enter. Bring water shoes.
Overall was a good visit. Would I go to this resort again? I'm not sure. Its was good, but I might try something else next time

The highlight for us was the kid's club, which my five-year-old loved. The employees planned fun activities throughout the day and for families in the evenings that made our stay feel very special. We were very confident leaving our daughter in their care and she left bubbling with enthusiasm.
We preferred eating at the restaurants compared to the buffet, but the best evening was the Mexican-themed night (every Saturday). The accomodations were very clean and comfortable and we were very pleased overall.

We booked a room called Junior Suite Standard. In pictures showed 2 beds or bed and a foldable sofa bed. We assumed that we can choose. When we arrived for our stay at the check in staff said we can only get the one with foldable sofa bed. After we arrived in our room foldable sofa was rusted, none functional. No sheets were given for it either. I tried to set it up and it was broken. We managed to get by during our stay. Was a bit disappointed since we specified it’s for 2 adults and 2 kids.

Over all we loved our stay and enjoyed everything els. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Food was amazing. Drinks were great. To be honest i would give it 5 star if the bed wasn’t broken.

absolute trash!! what a waste of 8 days!! the two main things of all inclusive were terrible!! didn't have a good meal the whole time, steak house was a joke ordered the ribeye and it looked like slice ham damm near walked out!! drinks were horrendous!! there's a bottom shelf than there's house liquor which if you don't pay attention is what they give you!! after speeding almost $300 on \"top shelf\" liquor one waiter suggested I buy bottles which was cheap but had I know from the beginning I would have been doing that!! we complained about the kids making noise since they put us a couple in the kid friendly building they sent us to el best which is suspspoed to be adults only but the room was worst than the first one it smelled moldy and bed was horrific asked for smaller pillow since the large pillows were killing our necks even gave the dude a few dollars and nothing than the pillows started smelling like mold I've been to the grand moon palace and excellence and this place doesn't come close. room service food was bad as well and can only order once a day the mini bar is 4 sodas and two cans of beer just don't save yourself a headache it was so bad I told wife to pack so we can leave but she insisted on staying so we made the best of it and left the resort for dinner almost every night !!

This property is a total 10/10. We would absolutely come back or recommend! My husband and I went for a relaxing baby moon and were able to do just that! From the moment we arrived to the time we left we had nothing but great things to say. Elias was so informative and welcoming and was able to get us an upgraded room we truly enjoyed!! We went to Mike’s Coffee every morning and enjoyed not only the coffee or snacks they had, but also the environment. They also had games you could enjoy. The buffet food was also good (unlike other resorts we’ve been to) with a variety especially the breakfast and the restaurant food was GREAT! We definitely recommend going to the 3 restaurants they offer for dinners. Angelica was able to get us reserved. She was so nice and answered any questions we had! Sakura, the Japanese restaurant, we went to the second night and WOW! The food and the experience of them cooking in front of you was wonderful! Third night we went to La Locanda, the italian restaurant, had amazing food and great service! We didn’t go to the steakhouse as we wanted to enjoy the Mexican parade they were hosting that night, but heard great things! Each night they had something to experience that was kid and adult friendly. We experienced live music, we did karaoke at the piano bar, fire show, and mexican parade during our stay. The pools were clean and nice size to not be on top of others and the swim up bar was nice! Can’t wait to come back and bring our little one and family

I have been to many resorts of the years and this had to be one of my favorites ! Food was great. Service was great and the resort was clean with lots to do ! My only suggestion would be to wear water shoes in the ocean !!! My father in law stepped on a stonefish and had severe pain swelling and got very sick ! Lisandro was the man ! Concierge was great and very helpful.

We really enjoyed the Privilege lounge open from 7 am - 11 pm where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.

I would say that we got what we payed for although when flying with Flair you have to pay for checked bags abd carry ons. Two cgecked bags will run you an extra 400$ Nothing to do with stay, just thought I'd add that note. The property is a little tired. The rooms could use sn update and the pools could be re surfaced. The staff was exceptional. Very courteous and are there to help in any way. Ask for an upgrade when you get there. We got a swim ip no extra. The swim ups are nice. The water is a little cooler and more refreshing. The beach isnt the best. The Sargassum that washes up on the beach is pretty bad. They try to clean it up but there is just too much. The food was oaky at best. Getting to the buffet early is key as it gets picked through and tgere is long line ups to the omletts. You are very close to Playa. I Suggest a cab ride in for a day. Lots to see snd lots of bars and restaurants

I booked a Privilege Junior Suite Swim-Up for three nights. The lounge room and bedroom were both huge and had all the expected amenities. Beyond the lounge was the patio with hot tub, and beyond that was the lap pool that snaked along the front of the five or six adjacent rooms. The view from both rooms was dense vegetation. It was very secluded and peaceful. Upstairs in the same building was the Privilege Lounge, with bar and first class restaurant (best in the hotel). Perfect for breakfast and dinner. The room was spotless and the housekeeping staff courteous and obliging. My only minor criticism was that the room, although well maintained, was showing its age in places - rather dark, and humid to a level that completely defeated the portable dehumidifier in the corner.
Outside of the room, the beach was only steps away and the restricted “Privilege” area very comfortable with loungers in both shade and sun, food and drink service available, towels on site, etc. The beach restaurant, Pez Vela, served delicious light lunches.
Our stay was made seamless and extra enjoyable by the Prestige head butler, Antonio, who showed us around on the day of our arrival, made restaurant bookings for us, helped us reserve beach chairs, found us floats for the lap pool, and answered all of our questions.
My daughter and I also spent a very pleasant afternoon in the spa.
On leaving my overall impression was that I had been extremely well cared for.

Ocean Riviera Paradise had a magical feel to it, with so many different amenities. The staff was amazing! Our concierge Elias from Guest Services was a true Angel always available to answer our questions and make suggestions. Every resort/hotel should have an Elias on hand. I would definitely return to Ocean Riviera Resort.

My wife and I go to at least 1 all inclusive resort a year and we've tried all the major brands ... Ocean does their resort a little different but it has it's ups and downs like any other resort. The UPs are the resort is clean and well maintained and our room was recently refurbed and had all the amentities that you want/need and more. Our walkout to the pool and waterpark was a nice plus! Our kids loved seeing all the animals! Restaurants were all good with some things being better than others but lots of options and never went hungry! Route 66 is a must! Their a la carte reservation/or lack their off (FCFS) is a little different but managable. The coffee shop, crapperie and ice cream shop are also all nice extras some resorts lack! The DOWNs would be lack of towel stations near the beach, beach restaurant should just be a buffet and the beach itself is very rocky and el natural! Not for everybody for sure and the pools were very cold also! So if you really love being at the beach all day ... pick another resort!

The rooms are very clean and tidy with cool decor. My favorite thing about the resort was the friendly staff. Antonio, our butler was phenomenal. He went above and beyond granting any requests we had, and always responded to our messages quickly. Antonio even got our daughter some glue for her nails to reattach one that fell off on our travels to the resort! Carlos at the privilege lounge was an exceptional server. He was friendly, funny, and came back multiple times to ensure we were taken care of.

I recently stayed at Ocean Riviera Paradise, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing.
The resort needs better separation of family and adult dining areas. At the buffet, children were often running around and disrupting guests. While the staff was friendly, drink service was very slow—refills were rare, and we often had to order multiple drinks at once or bring bottled water ourselves (despite us tipping generously).
Food quality was inconsistent, with items like rice and pasta frequently undercooked. Entertainment and activities were also limited for such a large property.
The highlight of the stay was the room—beautiful, comfortable, and well-maintained. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily.
Unless you pay for an upgrade, no in-room snacks are provided, and the on-site shop is extremely overpriced (e.g., $9 USD for small chips), so we purchased items off-site instead.
For comparison, I previously stayed at Ocean Maya Royale and enjoyed it more overall, though the food there also needed improvement.
Despite a few positives, I would not return to this resort.

The trip was great. The room was comfortable and lots of options for food. We had Antonio for our butler and he was amazing. Without him we would’ve had a hard time sorting through reservations with a large group but he made our trip so easy and relaxing. We couldn’t ask for a better butler. He felt like a friend and was so warm and welcoming.

The beach was great and the pools were warm. My only complaint is that we loved the crepery but it was only open from 12:30-4 and we would’ve loved to have it as an option for breakfast because it was so good.

Overall we had a great trip and taking tons of memories with us. A huge thank you to the staff and Antonio for everything.

This resort was wonderful. The rooms were clean, well-stocked and very large. I loved having a balcony. We upgraded to El Beso to take advantage of the adults only section. It was worth the money to make the upgrade. The only issue was the restaurants that you had to make a reservation for. Unless you are a Privileged member, you won't get a reservation before 9:30pm, so we were not able to get into the Steakhouse or in the Japanese restaurant. However, that is okay because Blue Moon and Pez Vela were spectacular meals and the buffet was one of the best I have seen. The service, from the front desk to the wait staff, was outstanding. Thank you for a great stay, we can't wait to come back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ocean Rivera Paradise. Friendly staff, buffet had a good selection, the pools and swim up bars were wonderful. The beach was lovely. I am deducting a star for the following reason(s): our bathroom sink was leaking, the process to make a dinner reservation wasn’t efficient. You had to line up at 8:30am to book at the Japanese restaurant and the line up was about 45-50min long. They booked our excursion on the wrong day.

All in all it’s a great resort for families!

The staff at this property are exceptional. Our room was spotless, Bettina (I may have her name wrong, apologies) made towel animals that my kids adored and were excited for every day. Yhara at privilege check in was incredibly helpful, getting us a master suite for the extra space with the kids. Our butler, Rosa, ensured we had dinner times at our preferred restaurants with the best times to eat with our kids. Adriàn was also incredibly helpful when we stopped by the butler desk. My kids loved them both and got so excited anytime they would stop and chat. Karina at Mike's makes the best coffees and remembered our orders. Novelo and Jose in the privilege lounge gave amazing service. I've never been to a resort that was as diligent about food allergies, having 2 dairy allergies in the family, I would come here again just for the peace of mind. Every bartender, server, maintenance staff, and alike were so friendly and really lifted the atmosphere. The upgrade to privilege was well worth it and I look forward to the next time we can visit. Great food, so many activities, clean resort, and fantastic employees. A true 5 star for families.

Be prepared once you arrive, there are premier areas that you cannot use at the resort.
Also, they told us that room service was avaliable for us to use anytime, but it was not.
They asked us to attend a one hour seminar to try to sell us the premier access to the resort, they were extremely friendly upon our arrival, however that changed immediately once I declined to purchase anything.
Paola working at the beach restaurant is the RUDEST employee here, the food was good here but, we never went back because we never wanted to deal with her ignorance.
The staff servers at the other restaurants are there to do their job, not personable at all and sometimes treated us as we were a bother whenever we asked a question or for something we needed.
However, Karina and the other ladies at the Cofee shop were amazing, so kudos to them.
I would not stay here again. It was not bad but it wasn't great.
Wish I left here with an amazing experience to recommend this resort.

Staff were very friendly and the buffet offered a lot of selection each day. We had to make a couple of calls about the room cleaning/ servicing and a noisy air conditioner.

Getting a chair poolside or beach was impossible unless you got out before sunrise and claimed your spot with a towel. The special restaurants require you to line up at 8:30 in the morning to get a spot … unless you pay for premium. A couple of other cost cutting measures included the crepe restaurant only open 4 hours a day and the ice cream parlour was only open late afternoon and evening.

As long as you like loud dance music from 11 - 6 El Beso is the place for you. The other pools were pretty much the same volume and there wasn’t much for actual beach front that wasn’t taken up by the reclining beds but again, only for privilege access.

Not a terrible stay but certainly not a feeling of everything being taken care of. I will look around a bit more before doing another Cancun all-inclusive

Many reasons:
1. We said before our stay that we were there to celebrate our anniversary and in the day there was nothing special they did for us. And we show they did it for other customers.
2. The bars consistently missed one or the other ingredient for the mix and almost never made the drink they said they would. Same with true food. In the fine dining menu they listed ingredients that did not show up on the plates.
3. My wife was pregnant and there was little willingness from some staff members to help her or get her a non alcoholic beer.
In general some staff members just seemed to be angry or in a bad mood. They kept forgetting our orders or reservations. A disaster if one considers this is a 5 star hotel with fine dining restaurants.

The staff were nice all the time they were helpful. My boyfriend and I were so surprised that they upgraded out because it was our anniversary and we were very thankful for. They always did a great job of making sure the hotel was clean, and when we wanted our room clean they did a good job. But when you wanted to go to the pool it was cool. The food was oh ok it was sometime was very sweet or grace's. When you want to the beach there was a lot of people that keep on asking to sale things. But the beach was gorgeous to look at. Also, when we booked an extension they didn’t tell us it would be an extra cost when the people picked us up. Their alcohol was good but sometimes tastes like it was artificial. There bowling was good it was nice a clean and if your lane was down they right away, fixed it. They had good live music at the night time.

Staff were very nice. Was given the wrong room - finally got the building i was supposed to be in but our room was at the very end and no view of the pool. Very disappointing. Ran the tub and the water was orange in colour. Disgusting. Food was ok..nothing special. Long line ups at the cafe which was discouraging as well. I would suggest a third person serving the coffee/smoothies especially early in the day. Won't be back

The food was very mediocre, breakfast was lacking fruits, vegetables and avocados (in Mexico), only bread and eggs were the majority selection. No variety at all. The room was ok, but the shower drain was not properly installed, and we have bathroom with water every time we took a shower. The water in the pool was freezing, no one was in it, everyone was at the beach. The water temp there was much warmer. The shade space is limited, you literary have to get up at 6am just to get one. Mexican restaurant was terrible, we waited 45 minutes just to get an order, and more than 1 hr to be served with food. My son and My mother got food poisoning after buffet visit on the 6th day. The best part of this resort was wild animals around it,, lots of fun feeding and observing them. Do not recommend!!

Room was nice, nothing fancy or anything considered 4star, but comfortable. No bugs, or leaking water anywhere. Grounds were good, lots of wildlife. Pools ok, could use a good cleaning on the pool floors, but it was a little cool so we didn’t get in-just sat at the side with our legs in. We weren’t at the beach area that much, although we would have liked to be. Seemed to be not enough chairs and very crowded, so mostly stayed at the pools. Food was decent, better than expected. We didn’t do any of the restaurants, just didn’t want to go to the extra effort of doing all that. Our butler was good, very nice. Didn’t see him much, but if we reached out to him he replied almost immediately. We were there between Christmas and New Years, NYE dinner was a cluster. Too many people all in the same area at once, so very long lines and wait time to get into buffet to be seated, then to get food from buffet. Wasn’t impressed, left and went to room and had room service. Room service food as expected, mediocre. Would possibly return, but thinking for slightly more $$ could be at a much nicer place next time. Not bad for the $ we paid, but lacking in some areas. We did have a good time so that’s all that really matters I guess.

Overall this is very good resort. Almost perfect.
Rooms are great especially if you get one with your own pool which we did. Great food. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Many pools to choose from. If you with kids it’s perfect. If you want adults only - this is not for you. Beach front is little short.

Our recent stay at Ocean Riviera Paradise was overshadowed by a serious safety concern—especially given that we had booked a Junior Suite with the Privilege upgrade and expected a higher standard of care.

During our stay, a stranger was mistakenly allowed into our room. This was an alarming and unacceptable breach of guest security, and the situation that followed was handled poorly, with unclear communication and a response that did not reflect the seriousness of the incident. As a result, we felt unsafe for the remainder of our trip.

There were also some frustrations with inconsistent information about what was included, a few unexpected charges, and limited engagement for older children, as the kids club and water park are better suited to younger ages (aged 4-6).

The resort grounds are beautiful and there is clear potential for a wonderful family vacation, but meaningful improvements in commitment to guest experience are needed.

Resort was clean. Rooms were good. Male bartenders particularly in lobby less than friendly. Female wait staff fantastic. Food gets just an ok. There was renovations being completed in room next to ours and the chemical smell was intolerable. Numerous attempts were made to address situation and only received a “Hello?” Our last night at 9:48 pm. A little late. Used translator on phone to try and get workers to leave doors open to no avail with language barrier. Woke up with terrible headaches and sore throats from it. Front desk was zero help. All our clothes reeked and my sleep app took a long time to get smell out of it. Will not be visiting this resort again.

Loved the place. I always check reviews, and chose this resort because of all the good feedback on quality of food, great size pools and service.
Didnt disappoint. Great restaurants food including the buffets. We were able to get reservations on all the restaurants for dinner, with the exception of the Blue moon, the Italian one was the favorite!
Multiple pool to choose from, the one by the beach is my favorite, i just hope it has more music and activities, as they have on other pool locations.
Good size beach to walk by, but water shoes is recommended for swimming on the beach.
Loved the plaintain and the green and red healthy juice from the breakfast buffet! Will definitely recommend this resort!

We stayed at this resort for 7 nights with a family group of 13 (8 adults and 5 children) to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing from the start.

Before arrival, we communicated through Expedia and the resort messenger and were promised birthday recognition, a room above the first floor, and help arranging a private family dinner. None of these promises were honored.

Throughout our stay, many staff members were consistently rude and unhelpful, from check-in to restaurants. Despite staying over a week, our family was never able to sit together for a single meal. Even when nearby tables were empty, staff firmly refused to seat us closer, and the promised private dinner never happened. Restaurant reservations were also mishandled multiple times, often without apologies.

Room soundproofing was another major issue. Our room was connected to the next room by a door, and noise could be clearly heard late at night and early in the morning, making it difficult to rest.

We also faced repeated issues with currency exchange at the front desk and resort shop, which were handled very unprofessionally.

To be fair, the food was generally decent, and one staff member at the service desk who handled our complaint was kind and helpful.

This was our fifth trip to Mexico, and we have never experienced service this poor, especially at a so-called 5-star resort. As the person who organized this trip, I felt very sorry to my family for choos

They clean our room everyday but this morning at the buffet area we ask for decaf and one of the server been ignorant to us she dump the sachet of coffee in front of us...lunch in seafood restaurant pizza ,ceviche, and nachos are great but the fried fish fries and fish n chips are double fry, too oily

We had a week a this hotel. It represented itself as an adult resort when it is actually 90% families and young families at that. It was a very large resort, kept clean, and friendly staff with the exception of the lobby bar. At the lobby bar, we were ignored by four staff members and we were the only two at the bar. It took asking twice to be served and yet we graciously left an almost required tip to the staff. We were disappointed with the taxi rates to go into town or even for a three kilometre trip, being over $30 Canadian. Another disappointment was the lack of Mexican music at the pools and lobby. Why not celebrate the country that people are coming to visit? One night (Saturday) being Mexican night was not enough to be authentic. A pool supervisor told us they had a required play list and could not divert from the list. A great resort for families and having a designated pool and room area as adult only did not make it any less family oriented as, all activities and restaurants were for all ages.

We stayed 2 weeks in Privilege. The resort was very clean, and the staff were friendly. We really enjoyed the layout.

Food was mostly good. We had no stomach issues at all. The restaurants sometimes felt very chaotic. The inconsistency in restaurant staff stood out to us. Some were great, some were duds. Waiting 30 min before even getting a glass of water in Blue Moon was annoying.

The beach - while okay in that there is a beach - was disappointing, many other resorts have better. It’s narrow, and you have to navigate the rocks to get in. Not a deal breaker, but I don’t enjoy swimming in water shoes.

The rooms were not upto expectation. The washrooms were dirty with foot prints, mould on some areas, disgusting bath tubs. The pull out bed (couch) was stained and old. If it’s a 5 start hotel I believe those should be well kept. Staff were helpful and friendly. The kids pool slides and fixtures were rusty and old too. Alot of options for food and Pez Vela was our favourite. Overall it was decent but I don’t think we would return considered the cleanliness of the rooms.

Rooms were clean and facilities were nice. Loves the decor. The two biggest negatives for us were the service (the service was slow or in a lot of cases non-existent) and the pool temperatures. Trying to get coffee at the buffet for example, or a drink around the pool was almost impossible. We’ve stayed at many other all inclusive resorts, and felt the service here was poor. Perhaps it’s better if you pay extra $ for their privilege rooms. Also, the pools are FREEZING with the kids pool sadly being the coldest of them all. This was a huge miss for us. There is virtually no one in the pools for this very reason. Everyone goes to the beach pool since it’s the only one even moderately swimmable, but it’s impossible to get a chair unless you get there before 7:30 am (which, who wants to do that on holidays?!). Also the resort needs to stop allowing people to ‘reserve’ chairs with their towels.

This resort was definitely in the bottom tier of all-inclusives that we've stayed at in Mexico (10th year of going). We were told several lies upon check-in about what was included; much less than an \"all-inclusive\" typically does.

For example, 3 of the restaurants require reservations and you can only do that once per seven days. There are five pools, but we only had access to two of them. Unless you upgrade to the \"Privilege\" status, your breakfast options are limited only to the buffet - which had a lot of options but was rarely warm. We were also told there is a free shuttle to downtown (keep in mind this resort is isolated in the jungle) - everyone we asked afterward said this didn't exist and had to pay exorbitant taxi fares instead.

The room was decent, but shows signs of wear. Housekeeping was great - they cleaned everyday and did an excellent job. The drinks were decent but are served in small cups/glasses. Most the bartenders were great, but like a lot of resorts, they are clearly overworked and understaffed. A lot of the servers seemed to not care if you existed or not, especially at the restaurants.

The pools were also freezing (this was January) - but not a problem at other resorts. The ocean was honestly way more comfortable for swimming. The drink service by the pools was incredibly inconsistent. And the chair towel culture is here is the worst I've ever seen - Godspeed getting a chair by the pool on a decent weather day.

I stayed solo at Ocean Riviera Paradise All Inclusive in December, and it was one of the best all-inclusive experiences I’ve had. The resort delivered an excellent blend of comfort, service, and amenities that made my trip memorable.

Rooms are okay, most staff are friendly. Improvements needed:
1. Reception at Pez Vela needs to be replaced, two ladies were close to rude and totally mismanaged. The first day we had lunch there, they made us waited for 45 minutes lining up under the sun just to put our names on the waiting list! Then we had to wait another 30 minutes before we got our table. We went back there for lunch twice and we went early to avoid the line up, but both times, we need to stand aside for a few minutes (not really knowing why) as they served the customers behind us first!
2. The reservation system for fine dining needs improvement. You need to login and fight through online to book right at 8:30 in the morning, otherwise you won't get any decent dinner time. Also, you can only book for your own room and if you have multiple rooms (our family has 3 rooms), you need to win the lottery to be able to dine together! And the reservation for Sakura is even worse, you need to line up in the sun for at least an hour if you want to get some decent dining time, the desk opens at 8:30 and you need to line up by 7:45 if you want to dine at reasonable time, the only thing good about this restaurant is they allow you to book for multiple rooms.

We booked privilege as we like the added amenities that come with it. Check in was smooth and we were upgraded to a rooftop suite. Our butler Allan was able to get us into an à la carte the first night even though we arrived at supper time due to our plane being delayed. All of our reservations were handled by Allan and we didn’t have to plan anything. The room was spacious, mini bar always stocked and we had zero issues. The pool was chilly until you got in for a bit. The drinks were fabulous but keep in mind you can’t always get top shelf liquor at all places (even if you’re privilege). The only thing I would probably change is that only privilege guests can use the privilege pool. There is a roped off section for privilege but the pool is open to all guests. The food at all of the restaurants is delicious. A large variety to choose from. This was our second time to this resort and our 3rd time to an Oceans. It is great value for the cost. Highly recommend.

For breakfast waited 1 hour to get food and it was wrong order for dinner we also had issue due to staff not understanding English. Everything else was great. They upgraded us to a hot tub room with two bathrooms and the staff were great! Only negative was that there were many children running around, but not a big deal. Beautiful resort
