An unreal experience. Highly recommend rooms 415 through 419 for secluded privacy. Wonderful suites, incredible architecture, furnishing and amenities. Service level is above any resort we have stayed at before. Every detail was impressive and wonderful. Pricey but worth every dollar.

We are regular guest in this hotel for over ten years. We love the services cleanliness and attentiveness here, only prices are going bit up to much every year, same for Spa, how possibly with taxes and service fees on reg bases $515 ? We don’t even see prices like that in most upscale hotels in US. But massage is always great with Ceasar here , highly recommend him. Some Stuff little bit disoriented with new management, some complained about , some seemed optimistic.
Great lunches next to pool, next year beach bar and dining area should be renovated.
Was not happy about extra nody bites from bugs, I got like 10 all over my legs. Used product in room and plug , did not much gekp, need to update on that. In room dining was attentive, but again over priced. Room always extra cleaned. Birthday celebration this year abd it’s my 50 th was nit addressed, but I still love you guys. We hope to come back sion again.

Beautiful property, secluded, great pools and restaurants, friendly staff. Good location to be able to visit Mayan ruins. The only downside is a relatively small beach.

Bikes are available to ride around the property. We never had to wait for anything (spa reservation, tennis reservation, restaurant, etc)

beachside lagoonview suite at rosewood mayakoba!
Just returned from the Rosewood Mayakoba. My wife and I stayed four nights in the beachfront lagoonview suite. The room was overwhelmingly nice. Ivan, our butler, started the trip off right with a wonderful Oaxacan mezcal drink, which set the tone for the whole experience. Yes, the prices are astronomical, but that's understood when you book a resort like this. We also love the mega resorts that are all inclusive, but the care and attention to detail gives an entirely different vibe. Everyone-I mean everyone takes the time to say hello, and are clearly all encouraged to be very open with their backgrounds and experiences in mexico. All in all it was a fantastic experience that, if you can afford the price, is worth repeating.

My husband and I just returned from an incredible 3 day stay at the Rosewood Mayakoba where we went to celebrate our anniversary. Rosewood is paradise and we’re still glowing from our trip. All the staff are incredible and they go above and beyond to ensure every request is met and you feel pampered your entire stay. When we arrived at the hotel we were given the most delicious welcome drink, quickly checked in and then taken by boat to our beautiful deluxe overwater lagoon suite. The trip was a surprise for my husband and he was blown away when he saw where we were staying. Our butlers, Lili and Omar, did everything to make our suite a dream. The next day we enjoyed the Kuxtal Sensorial Garden experience a very unique 3 hour spa session that connects you to Mayan traditions. Marta and Nancy took such wonderful care of us and we left feeling completely rejuvenated. All our dining experiences were wonderful and they have a wide variety of vegetarian / vegan options throughout the property and they are all delicious. For our final night we had a private dinner at the cenote which was just spectacular. Huge thanks to Cynthia who spent a considerable amount of time helping me plan this perfect evening. Miguel at Punta Bonita was so kind and took wonderful care of us. Thank you to Amy and Dario from concierge for helping me plan the perfect trip! If you’re looking for a chance to treat yourself look no further than the Rosewood Maykoba!

We stayed in the Wellness Suite, which was a two-story suite on the lagoon with a plunge pool and a separate yoga/meditation/reflexology area. It had an abundance of additional wellness-focused amenities, and was close to the spa facilities which I used daily for saunas. The resort itself was a true paradise with multiple pools, beautiful grounds, and plenty of restaurants and amenities like tennis, golf course nearby. We would love to go back and definitely pay extra for the Wellness suite if that’s you’re thing.

My six year old son and I stayed at Rosewood Mayakoba for a few nights (we also stayed at a few couple other hotels on this trip, including Banyan Tree). Rosewood Mayakoba is amazing. The property and facilities are amazing. Our room was amazing (Deluxe Overwater Lagoon Suite). Restaurant and in-room dining food was excellent. To top it off, the people are amazing. Everyone (from the butlers to the cleaning staff) was incredibly intentional about us having an excellent experience. Perhaps all around more intentional about excellence than any hotel I've stayed at (and I've been to over 50 countries and stayed at LOTS of hotels). Generally, I prefer to not go back to stay at the same hotel twice (I like to experience new places)...but I will make an exception to that rule for Rosewood Mayakoba. We'll be back. If you're looking for a top notch luxury hotel...stay here.

Best beach resort in the world

This is our new favorite place to stay. The staff is the friendliness staff in the world. They go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. From the front desk to the cleaning crew everyone was absolutely amazing. The butlers are available via an app 24/7 and will bring you whatever you need. The treat you like royalty. The food is absolutely amazing. The beach is gorgeous and the property is something you cannot find anywhere else. The gym is fully equipped even with 5 pelotons you can ride. They provide every guest with a beach cruiser bike that can get you all around the property easily. The rooms are impeccably clean and very large with personal pools on each back patio. There are adults only pools and family pools and neither will disappoint. All the restaurants are outdoors and very clean and delicious.

If I had to say one bad thing it would be that the lagoon feature, that thing that makes the property unique, does attract some mosquitos but they have spray for you in the rooms and will get you medication if you get bit. Also bring your own sunscreen because in the store it is very expensive to buy. Again if you want to use their 30spf they provide it for free. There is really not a thing that I would change about this property. We just got back and are already planning our next trip there.

This property is rated the number one resort in Playa del Carmen, and deservedly so. The layout of the property with the canals and golf course, the rooms and their furnishings are among the best, but the restaurant options need expansion and improvement, except for the breakfast buffet, which is outstanding. We have been traveling to Mexico for over forty-five years, including to Cabo San Lucas which was a sleepy fishing village with no marina and only about four hotels in the 1970's. We stay at the very best accommodations, including Rosewood's Las Ventanas in Cabo, the One and Only Palmilla, El Pedrigal, Esperanza, etc., and we expect to pay top dollar and are rarely disappointed. I routinely order ceviche as a late afternoon snack after our arrival, or as a starter for a meal. At the beach restaurant at Mayakoba, this is the first time I experienced "turista" from the ceviche, and it detracted from an otherwise marvelous trip. Also, the menu selections and servings at the the Asian, Italian and Mexican restaurants leave a lot to be desired, particularly, for the prices being charged. On the other hand, the boat ride from our dock to Saffron, and the dining, was a magical experience. As previously stated, we don't mind paying top dollar for a valued experience. We will be back to Mayakoba because of the overall magnificent experience, but the resort needs to vastly improve its dining options. Dan and Jeane Sears

Absolutely the the nicest property I have visited in 30+ years of world travels. Everything is First Class.
The service (personal butler) was responsive and friendly, the setting is beautiful and the over-water bungalows were spacious and well appointed, including the private outdoor shower! Many restaurant options, not only at Rosewood, but the other 5 Star properties within Mayakoba. Highly recommend visiting Banyan Tree at night for dinner at Saffron’s. There are many options (Mayan ruins, Playa del Carmen, eco/water activities) to experience off-site (yes, it’s safe), but not necessary. The modern Cancun airport is 30 minutes away and Rosewood will handle the transfers. We loved Mayakoba so much, we are returning next year with our daughter!

It was our 6th visit in the past 5 years.
We always feel at home and keep coming back because of the exclusive service, installations, privacy. It has always been a perfect destination, however, it might be due to low season, we didn’t feel the presence of the management staff around the property and there were some issues with the butler service, like unanswered messages and a delay of luggage pick up before check out. Although these were nothing serious, we hadn’t experienced such issues in the past visits.
The addition of the aquí me quedo adult only section is good in concept, but aesthetically, goes against the rosewood experience ( use of bright colors, neons). Also, the sargasso at the beach is a very unfortunate problem.

The service is AMAZING across the board from EVERYONE!!! Beautiful property and an excellent place to get back your ZEN!! It’s definitely a couples resort but I went alone and had an amazing time! I would have liked to have seen more restaurant options at the resort but overall it was excellent. The only other disappointing thing is the amount the resort charges for drinks! I would pay half the amount for the same Tequila at Banyan Tree Resort in Mayakoba!

We were initially placed in a centrally located Deluxe Suite. After being welcomed to the room by the staff, we very quickly discovered a very loud neighbor who spent his time outside either yelling at his son on the phone or on the phone on business calls, leading us to request a different suite. The Rosewood team was incredibly accommodating and found a more secluded location for us, which afforded us the relaxation we were looking for.

Entire stay was one pleasant surprise topping the previous one. Arrange round trip airport transportation with them it is unequaled in luxury and comfort . The workout facility was by far the nicest of the three other five star resorts we have stayed at. Same goes for the spa. The spa was such a gorgeous facility located what appeared as a beautiful nature preserve that you felt beyond pampered. Not sure I am a good enough person to warrant the level of attention afforded me. I spent our entire five day stay attempting to appreciate the level of detail and really it was impossible to “take it all in” Lastly I feel it’s important to recognize how much respect the resort showed toward the Mayan culture as well as preserving the natural beauty of the area.

The downside, however, was the beach was not as good as other areas on the Riviera. There was a lot of sea weed that would wash up ashore in the morning and throughout the day.

One of the most relaxing vacation of my life

I never leave reviews but this time I felt I really had to do it. The level of the service was beyond my expectations: quick, dedicated and ver very attentive. They take care of every detail. The food is really good and the resort is extremely kids friendly. The butler was always available to take care of our needs. I also recommend to pay a visit to the spa which made my day even more relaxing. I would recommend 100 per cent and I will definitely go again.

We also love the food, the barbeques, the breakfast buffets, the welcome cocktails and pool treats and snacks. We’ve been coming here for ten years and it’s just getting better and better. We plan to visit this place as much as we can.

Absolutely amazing experience. Such a beautiful and serene atmosphere. The suite was fabulous—we probably could have spent the whole time here honestly! Obviously it’s an amazing resort, but what stood out was the effort by the staff to make sure we were relaxed and comfortable the whole stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the little pop-up activities like the wine and cheese tasting, cocktail hour, and the various little amenities offered throughout the day. Favorite place I’ve ever stayed!! We’ll definitely be back.

This hotel is not just a place, but rather an experience. True to the Rosewood style, service is impeccable. The resort itself is lovely, the beach is beautiful, the food is delicious and the service is topnotch. Everyone loves what they do and is very proud of their positions. It is obvious that the company takes very good care of their employees and this definitely shows in how they (the employees) care for the guests. And oh, by the way, the margaritas here cannot be beat. After 5 days I still had not tried them all but every one was I did try unique and very, very tasty. Over the years I have been to several different hotels in Playa and the Rosewood by far is my most favorite. I will be back as soon as I can!
