Super clean rooms and grounds, great cocktails, beautiful well kept grounds, delicious food (better than any other all inclusive resort) incredible nature, all green around, and most importantly top service. Breakfast buffet was OK, when it was hosted in the Italian restaurant the options were underwhelming, when it was moved to its main location (Mexican restaurant?) it got better but was still just OK. I also wish they had more activities for kids (outside of kids club). But these are just minor things. Would definitely stay again!

A) Spent 20 mins trying to contact someone to order room service for breakfast at 8:15 am and could not get a hold of anyone. Did not receive a call back.
B) Multiple requests on restaurants went unanswered: example, additional coffee or water.
C) Drink services by the pool are subpar. Started ordering two drinks at a time since I was not sure how long it will take them to come back. Drink service by the beach was nonexistent for three out of the four days we were there: One waiter every 2 or 3 hours.

Property
A) Main pool complex and 3-4 restaurants closed for renovations. While I understand this is low season and why they are close for renovations I think this information should be clearly communicated while booking rather than after arrival to the hotel. One of the days could not sit by the pool since all the spots were taken (main pool was closed)
-Wi-Fi is spotty at best in our rooms
-AC in the rooms is not working properly. The best explanation I got is that there is a sensor that if it does not detect activity for a set number of hours it will turn the AC off until it reaches a set temperature. We set the AC to 68 and work fine during the day (as long as there was movement in the room?), at night it will get to 71 or 72 before it started working again.

Positive:
-Installations are well kept
-Food is great, especially at Tauro and Gaia
-Service on some areas of the hotel are excellent (what you would expect): Cafe maya, Gaia and Tauro for example

Property is really nice. Convenient golf shuttle around the property that comes frequent and drivers are friendly and helpful. Only if the restaurants offer better food options. It’s all inclusive but be mindful of the excluded drinks and snacks in the room, and some restaurants have excluded items that you have to pay extra.

I waited a week before posting this review to allow the property sufficient time to address a significant billing issue. Unfortunately, I am still awaiting a refund of $1,500 that was incorrectly charged to my account. Despite being told the \"mistake\" would be corrected immediately, no resolution has been made. I strongly encourage guests to review their final bill and ensure any discrepancies are resolved before departure. While the property and the service were outstanding, there were several disappointing aspects of our experience. Check-in was particularly unpleasant. We arrived at 9:00 AM after a long journey, and although the hotel was only 40% occupied, we were not allowed to access our room early. Instead, we were directed to change in the public lobby restroom. This was extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate 5 guests were forced to change in an area with no privacy, with luggage spread out on the corridor. A basic courtesy, such as offering a temporary room would have gone a long way in demonstrating hospitality and professionalism.
Additionally, the breakfast buffet was very disappointing — the selection was limited, the quality was poor, and the standards were far from \"exceptional\" rated hotel.I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Dmitri and the team at the beachfront restaurant. We were accommodated to have breakfast there for the duration of our stay.Dmitri and his team exemplified what true hospitality looks like with their warm, genuine service.

A Truly Memorable Stay – Highly Recommended!
We recently stayed at this beautiful hotel and had a fantastic time with the family (2 adults and 2 kids – 14 & 9 years old).
From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The service was top-notch — every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. The room and hotel facilities were excellent, with everything impeccably maintained and thoughtfully designed for comfort and enjoyment.
The beach is beautiful, and we really appreciated the hotel’s efforts to combat sargassum and keep the shoreline clean and inviting, which allow us to enjoy the ocean every day during our stay.
One of the biggest highlights was the dining experience. The variety and quality of the food was outstanding, something you rarely find in an all-inclusive. Each meal felt like a culinary treat, with fresh ingredients, creative menus, and beautiful presentation. You can make reservations in advance for the hotel restaurants via OpenTable, which is a big plus. On the other side, waiting time for breakfast can be a bit long (up to 30 minutes) since there is only one restaurant included in the all-inclusive package. And mosquitoes can get bad at La Laguna restaurant so be prepared if you sit outside.
But overall, we couldn’t be happier with our stay. Fully recommended—we’ll definitely be back!

Excellent hotel that is sargassum free!!

We had a fabulous stay at the Fairmont. The booking was done at the last minute because we were due to stay at a much smaller boutique hotel however we were very nervous of having our holiday ruined due to the sargassum (seaweed - google it before booking Mexico). We were already in Mexico and witnessed knee deep 20m wide sargassum belt (rotting and smelly) further down the coast at a different hotel.

I emailed the Fairmont whilst in country to check if they had any protection, after they confirmed that they did we cancelled the other hotel and booked here. We are so pleased that we did, you are made to feel special from the moment you arrive and their seaweed protection barrier gave us everything we hoped for, white sands, turquoise ocean and no knee deep seaweed to wade through. The restaurants were lovely, the service exceptional and the room very relaxing. Bikes and golf carts help you to get around whilst the quietness and size of the site didn’t make it feel like you were on a vast resort. One word of advice, book restaurants before you arrive (via emailing the concierge) or on your first day if you’re on an extended trip otherwise you may well be stuck eating at 5pm or 9pm! In high season, this is a must.

This resort is boring and they attempted to put us in a bad room with no view claiming it was an upgrade. We were all inclusive but it isn’t all inclusive which isn’t discussed enough before booking. The pool was dirty. The breakfast buffet for all inclusive was closed. Having to take golf cart trams everywhere is very inconvenient and annoying. They’re full or not going in the direction you need to go. All in all, 6/10. Didn’t hate it but wouldn’t be back.

Overall pretty good experience, relaxing. Not as many activities for the kids and even though it was all inclusive, many of the kids stuff was extra. The vegetarian options were okay compared to how they described it online.
There is no great app that they have like other places that tell you where things are, etc. They use OpenTable for restaurants, random website for other things.

I was told that golf includes a sleeve of balls by concierge but that was not the case and we went to a few of the water aerobic classes and no instructor would show up. When asked they said they were away on vacation but did not communicate that to the guests.

Lastly, for being a 5 star resort, I did not get the sense that the staff know you - always re-asking dietary restrictions, name, room number, etc.

We loved this all inclusive. Beautiful clean property. On a girls trip. I've stayed many places in Mexico and I really enjoyed staying here. Food options were great. We never needed room service. Many fresh options and I am Pescatarian.
The Fairmont in extremely clean and safe. Beds were a bit stiff for me. Get extra pillows...not the most comfy. But bathroom amenities were great. Nothing on patios other than chairs. No hot tub or swim out.
The spa was extremely over priced (and not busy) based on other places I've stayed. So that was a disappointment. But they do offer a day pass. $99
They also have an adults only pool that we enjoyed. But the beach was the best. Lots of seating, cleaned sand, no seaweed smell or charges for seating. Best spot there!!

When looking at reviews, one should consider each person has individual likes, dislikes, experiences, etc. that may not be the same as yours. This review is based on my personal preferences. First - The Resort. Beautiful, peaceful, well kept, and smells great! The beach is well maintained with great amenities and service. Second - The Staff. Every staff member from the concierge down to the maintenance workers were polite, always smiling and helpful. The staff here are excellent. Third - Food/Restaurants. Now I am a basic kind of food person, but certainly could find great food to eat across all the restaurants. My family are foodies and raved about all the dishes they had. The flavors, presentation, and service were impeccable. One night at the steak house, my wife's order wasn't done to her liking. Didn't make a big deal about it as we had enough food. A minute later the chef came out with a replacement dinner (without asking) to make sure we were happy (and we are low maintenance travelers). So overall if you want a peaceful, relaxed, classy vacation in the Cancun area, Fairmont Mayakoba is highly recommended.

It is a beautiful property and beach. The property is enormous and a thorough orientation at check in would have been helpful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurants offered a wide variety of delicious food. We chose the all inclusive package and we were happy that we did that.

We stayed at Fairmont Mayakoba December 10-15 with the all inclusive plan. Overall the resort was amazing. Fantastic service, delicious food. The attention to detail was superb. Very contentious regarding our food allergies. Super nice employees. Property was very clean. The only things that weren’t fantastic was the dairy free options as Bassano. It was spaghetti with a red sauce, no meat. Also, it would’ve been great if there was family friendly night time entertainment. I saw on the social media pages the resort has lots of events now during Christmas. I would’ve loved to have some event maybe every other night. That way after dinner we would’ve had something to do besides go to bed.

The best thing about the Fairmont Mayakoba is the food. Everything I ate - except the Korean BBQ (which was not Korean in anyway) was amazing, fresh and delicious. The casitas are very cool, especially the canal view. The only thing that is difficult, unless you are staying in the beach area, the time it takes to get there is looonnngggg. Also, sometimes it’s hard to get a cart. We stayed for our 20th Anniversary, they gave us an upgrade from the main building to a casita, but for an anniversary of that caliber, I would have expected a better location. Warning - don’t visit the doctor at the facility, it is expensive and they sent us to Hospiten - which is the biggest scam hospital ever. They tried to charge us $27,000 for a simple surgical procedure that costs $5000 in the US with no insurance. Hospiten also gives estimates on the price of your visit based on where you’re staying. So, if you’re coming from the Fairmont, be ready to pay a huge amount. They also give kickbacks to the hotel, which in my opinion is disgusting.
Another issue unfortunately was our room, there was at least four different issues that we had to address over the week’s stay. However, the property did compensate us by giving us one night free, which I thought was very fair. Overall our stay at the Fairmont in Mayakoba was pretty great and again the food was spectacular.

The natural beauty, delicious gourmet meals, apps & snacks, luxurious facilities & architecture, and ABOVE ALL EXCELLENT PERSONAL SERVICE made it the best vacation our family has ever had thus far.
All thanks to great people like Alejandro, Riccardo, Daniel and Hector at Brisas. Extra special appreciation to Gilberth, Alexander, and Angel, for making the beach days so memorable, as well as to Herber at Fuega and their uniquely tasty dishes that made for the outdoor moonlit dinner of a lifetime. Wonderful Irene was also exceptional and looked after each of our requests & questions so perfectly, and always reminding us if there was anything we need that she is there for our family. Behind the scenes there must be many chefs, cleaners, gardeners and administration that together deliver the flawless execution at Fairmont Mayakoba.
The concierge text line from the hotel starting pre-check-in to post-checkout was also a great feature!
Only blemish/irritant were the host & hostess at Tauro; the two of them were unorganized, incompetent and insincere both times we went there (Jul31, Aug2). The chef and waiters at Tauro still made up for it though, working hard through the heat for the guests at the outdoor patio tables.

The property was recently renovated and looks great they also have freee water activities on the beach like kayaking. There are plenty of beautiful pools and the the beach is very nice! Food options are wonderful. Highly recommend the all inclusive deal and signature room near the lagoon top floor

Very nice place and great beach food was great and staff only thing I think could be better is more shuttles running at all times to get around the resort and the golf course is so nice !!!!

Лучший вариант для тех кто хочет спокойно отдохнуть. Я посетила этот отель в июле, говорят это не сезон (наверное потому что очень жарко и побережье усыпано водорослями) но на территории большое количество бассейнов разных размеров, большое количество лежаков и все постоянно обслуживается любезным персоналом. Тихо, немноголюдно, вкусная еда и хороший выбор ресторанов на территории отеля. Идеальные, большие номера с удобными кроватями (это важно)

super recomendado, deliciosa la comida, toda la gente muy muy amable en general, pero sobre todo quiero hacer mencion de el restaurante italiano BASSANO, de primera el servicio sobre todo de Edgar y la chef Selene Cabrera la comida (el carpaccio de salmon esquisito), me encanto que sea un lugar donde dan lugar a las mujeres, toda la cocina son mujeres trabajando, me encanto.
en general el hotel super recomendado, volveriamos felices.

Very beautiful property. Friendly staff with great food options. Could walk everywhere but they offer free shuttle and bikes to get there faster. Various pools to choose from with difference scenery.

A truly wonderful experience from the moment you arrive to the moment you begrudgingly have to leave. The service was the best I’ve personally ever experienced. I felt all of my needs and wants were taken care of without hesitation. Needless to say, my family will be visiting this hotel again in the near future.

The best resort we have ever stayed at. Staff were all very kind and helpful. Food and drinks were amazing! The design and architecture of the property, layout of rooms, pools, and amenities, all were fantastic! I will definitely be returning with my family and can’t wait to go back.

What a beautiful property with the nicest most attentive staff! We loved every minute of our stay. Everything was so clean and the people were friendly and welcoming. The pool complex is incredible, the sports equipment at the beach is a great touch. We never felt crowded- it is very spacious and the grounds are immaculate. We loved how the natural beauty was preserved and the boat ride through the canals was a definite highlight! We saw so much wildlife and it was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful visit. We will be back!!
