We had a great stay at The Fives Beach Hotel & Residences. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the entire resort was very clean and well maintained. The lush landscaping gives the property a beautiful tropical feel.

One of the highlights was the nightly entertainment and food stations in the plaza, which created a fun atmosphere and offered a nice taste of Mexican culture.

A couple of minor downsides were the wait times for the à la carte restaurants during busy hours and the lack of a disco or late-night spot for younger guests who might want more nightlife. The sargassum (though uncontrollable) on the beach was disappointing as well.

Overall, a wonderful resort with great service and a relaxing, cultural vibe.

The staff was incredibly friendly during our stay. We loved the two room suite configuration - this gave our family of five plenty of space to relax and 3 bathrooms!! The balcony overlooking the pool was a treat - we enjoyed winding down the day there.

Unfortunately, the suite was quite rundown - repairs beyond another coat of paint are needed. Lots of peeling silicone along the edges of the shower, rust everywhere and too many stained surfaces to count. The room was well cleaned but not well maintained. Other areas of the resort were in much better condition.

The food around the infinity pool/beach was terrific. It was nice to have a few different grab and go options. We highly recommend the pizza.

We felt that renting a Bali Bed for a few days offered real convenience when spending time at the infinity pool and the beach. Kendy was a phenomenal server, keeping our drinks fresh throughout the day.

The crown jewel of our trip was our last supper at Mestizo - the food was incredible and the service was outstanding - ask for Pablo!

We loved it. The room was spotless and cleaned and stocked daily. The food and drinks were outstanding - we didn’t have a bad meal. The staff are all so friendly and willing to go above and beyond. We loved the daily pop-up events the resort had, they really catered to all ages. We can’t wait to go back again.

Hotel was amazing. Very clean. Beautiful walking paths throughout the hotel. Very family friendly if you have kids. Manuels house keeping was spot on every day. Breakfast wasn’t as good as lunch or dinner options. Drinks weren’t anything special but that’s expected at an all inclusive. I do wish better quality beer was offered. Very limited with their options. Very easy beach access with nice calm waters. Most of the staff members were welcoming and kind. Jean, Issac, Guadalupe, Israel, were some of the nicest people we encountered. Unfortunately we did have an inconvenience with one particular staff member that made us feel discriminated against. It almost came of as favoritism and racist towards us. That’s another thing that I noticed with certain staff members that if you spoke Spanish or were a Mexican American like us we didn’t receive the same attention or service. We highly recommend this resort but unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Nestled in the jungle with a path to the sunrise safe and beautiful ocean beach-front property. Outstanding staff from the moment you arrive at the front desk, through to the check out levels. Our rooms were cleaned up with love, restaurant and bar staff outstanding with tasty meals, lots of variety and many restaurants. Beach and poolside so many people there to serve and keep things neat and full of life. Joy & Wellness staff brought the energy to the resort with every activity and evening party and New Year’s Eve was a party to remember. Highly recommend for adults and children of all ages. Lifeguard and security on the beach to keep an eye out but felt extremely safe and ability to walk up and down the beach safely in all directions. Ocean out front refreshing to swim in with a sandy bottom and lots of pools to cool off throughout the resort. A collaborative Facebook group of helpful past and existing guests asking and answering questions created a supportive community too. Looking forward to returning again soon!!!

The first thing that I would say is that this is absolutely not an all inclusive. Most things around the resort had some things that were included and other things that were not. Room service as in the food itself was included, but you had to pay for it to be delivered. They would deliver wine in a glass, but no cocktails.. The quality of the rooms and the cleaning, depending upon the building that you were in. We had an issue with one of the electronic wristbands, if you totally lost it, it would cost US$125 to replace but they never told you that upfront. By and large the food in the restaurants was quite good as was a service. Unfortunately, no one with a regular reservation at the resort could make a reservation at the restaurants. It was all first come first serve which one you were travelling with a large group of people doesn’t really work the hostessing staff at the French restaurant was particularly awful just as an FYI. All of the bartenders were fantastic. The spa services were also wonderful, except for the fact that they were exorbitantly priced. For frame of reference an 80 minute massage was $300. The beach sand was phenomenal, but unfortunately, it did not get raked every day. The other issue was that in order to have an ocean view while you were sitting on the beach, you would’ve had to purchase a cabana for an additional fee.

My overall experience was OK. They should not mark themselves as all inclusive!

The fives hotel and beachfront has one of the most friendliest staff. They always great you when they pass by you and make you feel like family. Their ambassador take the time to make sure that your needs are met. We also did the spa experience which was 50 min hydro therapy and 50 minute massage and left like new. Overall it was a good experience.

The reason I am so upset is because the staff would each tell us different things contradicting each other. I asked about my benefits and the lady said that wasn’t something they offered I showed her my booking confirmation and what it said she said she they didn’t do that. I expressed at the hotel how unhappy we were and there was minimal to no effort to make it better. I was also so disappointed that there wasn’t more authentic food I couldn’t even find TAKIS which are literally Mexican chips what they did have were Lays and Doritos. The food did not taste good at all. I think the best restaurant that they had was the sushi one. Luckily, I have an aunt that lives in Mexico and she dropped off some actual Mexican food for us and that was the best meal we had. I don’t know. I just think it’s funny how you’re in Mexico and the food is all American nice like I did not feel like I was in a Mexican resort. I felt like I was at a fancy hotel in America so that was kind of sad because I felt like it robbed me from my Mexican experience.

We met friends of ours from Italy here this is a great option for families with kids of different ages. There’s lots to do and it’s a nice break from the typical on the beach all inclusive because you have the jungle shaded area that you get to walk through so there’s always choices and a break from the sun.

I have to say this property is absolutely beautiful. We went Monday - Friday and it wasn't too crowded. The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean, modern, and comfy.

Then there is the serious restaurant situation at this resort. You can't get in most places without extreme wait times. The restaurant information on the website is inaccurate.

Club members can make reservations so tables sit empty in every restaurant for dinner.

The first night we walked into the Sea Olive early and luckily managed to get a table. The food was excellent.

The second night we waited 2 hours for a table at Mestizo even though there were many empty tables. The food was excellent but not worth the wait.

The third night we arrived late after an excursion and situation was the same - 2 to 2.5 hour waits. So we ate street tacos in the plaza while sitting on the wet ground. There is very limited seating.

The fourth night we didn't risk it so, at 5:00 pm, so we sat by the door of Arezzo - which opens at 5:30 pm. Truly excellent food.

Recommendations: Either eat brunch or have an early breakfast and a light lunch. (By the beach there are street tacos, burgers, and Meulle Ocho for excellent ceviche.) Then wait by the door of the restaurant you've chosen for dinner at 5:00 pm.

My husband got sick and need something easy to eat mid-afternoon. All the restaurants were closed and room service had a 1.5 hour wait. Luckily the shop had crackers and electrolyte solution.

We won't be returning.

I booked double beds because I was traveling with my Son. I chose this property instead of new The Fives Beachfront because they dont have doubles as it is adults only. During pre check in I also requested doubles but still given a king instead and was told it was an upgrade. It was not an upgrade to me because its not what I wanted or booked. I didnt need a kitchenette as we took full advantage of the all inclusive restaurants and because Ive already stayed at this resort if I would have known id only have one bed I would have stayed at the newer one

We spent a week here for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of amazing! The staff truly made our stay unforgettable—everyone was incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. The food exceeded our expectations, with Arezzo quickly becoming our favorite dining spot. Each morning, we started our day at La Brasserie, which offered a great selection and the perfect breakfast atmosphere.

The property was very clean and kept. We enjoyed the entertainment that was convenient to guest in the evening. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
However, it would be nice to see more available seating for all evening events, as it was on the Sunday (5/25/25) and more stops for trolley to pick up for guest to get around/tour the property. Also, the late night places to serve or have access to finger foods from bars verses only room service being when guest are having drinks simple finger food is available. Nonetheless, we enjoyed The Fives Beach Hotel.

The staff was great they were always around to help. The food choices were good other than they only had the Buffet in the morning. As an all inclusive, they did not have coffee available all day. The rooms were clean. The only complaint I have is we didn’t have hot water for a few days I notified the front desk and never heard anything back. The door that separates the bed room from the sitting room fell off its track and was extremely heavy trapped us in our room. We had to have her daughter come rescue us. We called the front desk to have them fix it and hadn’t fixed it after two days. I think the front desk had very poor communication.

We had a lot of fun once we sorted out the accommodations. We were put in a different room than what we booked and when we asked about it the receptionist was rude and tried to blame it on us until we showed her the actual reservation. I didn’t appreciate that at all so beware but after they fixed it all was good! The food wasn’t amazing but the resort overall was what we were looking for. It was affordable and we went for a quick trip. I would go back.

Not a fan of all inclusive resorts but attended a function at the Fives and was nicely surprised by the quality of food, named brand drinks and A1 friendly, well trained staff. The resort goes above and beyond the norm with BBQs, silent discos, special events in the adults only areas, concerts and lots of other events for entire family. By booking with Expedia received a nice welcome gift, half priced transfers and an upgrade to a nice suite. Thank you Expedia. Only stayed in 4 all inclusive resorts (4 & 5 star) previously with the Fives by far the best value and food/drinks. A good choice for mid-range family resort.

Five Beaches did not disappoint in cleanliness, layout, amenities, and over all service. My family and I loved the ability to get to the beach, swim in the pools, and yes we did All Inclusive with drinks a plenty which makes it easy for all.

However, only rated 4* because they were rated as having \"Vegan Options\" but that was not the case at all. It was truly unfortunate with how challenging it was to find food outside of fries, potatoes, and fruit. I wish this was advertised better. I know that is unique to my families health & food choices as everyone else was raving about the food options, just Vegans you do have to go through the normal challenges due to our diet selections.

Check in was a breeze! Our room was ready when we got there.

Some of the staff were especially awesome, like Eric at the front, Isaac on the transportation carts, and Antonio in Arezzo. They were all 5 stars.

The pros of our stay are the service from the above mentioned, the food at Arezzo, not needing reservations for dinner, and the spacious rooms.

The cons are that the shuttle ended three buildings from where we were, the elevator didn't work for five of our seven day trip and we were on the fourth floor, the fridge was never restocked, the maid never left facial towels even after we asked, the beds were made daily but they didn't clean the room, the locks on the doors didn't work so the Coati let themselves in. The defecated all over the floor and the sofas of the penthouse one evening, got into one of the beds in the small room, and went through the make up bags in the other. Flavors had good food in the morning, but not equipped for so many people, so a lot of the options were scarce, including playes and cutlery. Burgers and pizza at the beach were great. Italian was the best. We ate there 6 nights and the food or Antonio never disappointed.

The weather was windy all week, which drove the seaweed to the beach but the staff were constantly at it, doing their best to keep it clean.

We spent our days at the beach pool. The staff there would remove our towels from our chairs if we left for lunch. The trip was ok. I wouldn't return. There's better for less money.

Property was great. Loved the resort and people were friendly. Room wasn't as expected as booked 2 bedroom penthouse suite and received 2 seperate rooms instead. 1, 1 bedroom suite, and another unconnected room with 2 queen beds. If had young children, wouldn't be ok. Our suite had a lot of issues. Jacuzzi on roof leaked, didn't stay full and Jerry's didn't work. Reported and maintenance came 3 times but didn't fix. Later in stay air conditioner started leaking in our room so water dropping from ceiling. Reported but fix was only to shut off ac unit which still leaked. Staff was very friendly everywhere except for one front desk employee named Alma who was very rude. Loved the Thai restaurant and the beach and the atmosphere of the resort. Had a lot of fun other than the water in the room. Overall a great stay, but maintenance needed in our room.

This was our first trip to Mexico and our first time staying in an all-inclusive resort. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with phenomenal service; bags were checked, drinks offered, and escorted to our Ambassador. The staff were amazing and made the stay worth it! The two-bedroom suite was huge and much more than we needed for four people - but we are glad that our teenagers were able to have their own space. The only complaint I have were the wait times at restaurants, but that was resolved quickly by either going at 5:30pm or after 8:30pm.

We enjoyed our six-night stay at The Fives Beach & Residences. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite as we are a family of six. We appreciated that the suite had balconies. We liked the location of our suite (villa nine) -- next time I think I'd ask for a ground level suite facing a pool and I might ask for one of the newer buildings as the original villas are a bit dated now. We really enjoyed the pools at the resort and also our time on the beach. It's fun to walk along the sand and check out the beachfront of other hotels -- I like that the beach is very open. The hotel restaurants are mostly good, with, very importantly, attention to food safety -- nobody in our party got sick (and you do hear a lot of food sickness stories from Mexico lately). We did a snorkel express excursion to the nearby reef and were treated so well by the guides. I would recommend this resort to families with a range of ages -- it was good for our children and teens. Pluses: lots of pool/beach towels available, friendly staff, beautiful pools.

This was the worst trip I’ve ever been on in my life. It was a girls trip with my sisters and we were robbed and then harassed! I waiting until I was back home to write this review because Paula told me if I left a review I would be arrested in Mexico!! Honestly Paula does not need to be working there because she does not make that place any better. I wouldn’t allow my dog to stay there!!! PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY! They stole my sister items out of the room and then returned them once we went out that night!

The main problem I had with this last visit was my transportation that was supposed to be provided by the hotel since I paid for the package of transportation for arrival and departure to the hotel with the lady of the name Sarahi Camargo, I was provided with the arrival transportation but when it came the time to leave they never provided transportation for the departure to the airport and since she never provided for the time I gave her I had to pay again even more for a taxi last minute to take me to the airport. Then once I contacted her after my trip was over for atleast a refund of the transportation, she sent me a fake refund receipt and I never received my refund. Therefore since I was very disappointed in how I was treated by her me and my fiancée don’t think we will be returning in May for our honeymoon

We came to the Fives Beach and residences with our children and grandchildren. The dining experience every evening especially was extremely inconvenient. It is a family oriented all inclusive resort and we expected more efficient dining experience and choices. Not able to reserve in advance and the wait sometimes was between 1-2 hours. Inconvenient for anyone.. the staff was friendly.

This was the first time my boyfriend and I went to this resort and we definitely would go back again. The staff was amazing. The food was great and there were so many options. Their evening events were also really great and there was always something new and fun to do. We loved the infinity pool by the beach best of both worlds. We highly recommend you taking the Mexican cooking class at Casa de Rosa. And the staff was really wonderful at all aspects of the resort. Our room was really nice. it was a swim up room so there was a little bit of a musty smell to it but that’s expected when you’re connected to water. All at all it’s a great resort and we definitely will be going back

Great week spent at this resort. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurants were good but very busy so long waits at time to eat. We were never able to eat a the Italian restaurant because what times were too long. Other than that, an amazing week at the resort. We stayed in a three bedroom penthouse which was perfect for our family. Gym was well equipped, 24 hours.

3. The hotel is an oasis walking outside is dangerous. Said by by the people in the hotel and felt when walking.

After making a reservation at the Fives months ago, and checking in online 48 hours prior, we show up and were told that the resort is \"overbooked\" and that we will be moved to their sister resort Generations Maya Riviera. The concierge left us with his email and told us that we could return in four days if we didn't like Generations and we would be compensated for how ever many nights we didn't get to stay at the Fives Resort for a future stay. Victor Quintana never responded to our emails and when we tried to calling back to confirm that we could return for the last few days of our trip the resort said that they were still overbooked and that we couldn't come back. We asked if we could talk a manager and were hung-up on. We called again and were told that they don't have managers there. We contacted Expedia for assistance with reaching out to the resort to at least get the compensation that we were promised and the resort told them that they have a no refund policy and there was nothing they were willing to offer us. We ended up paying full price for the Fives but stayed at a lesser resort that was farther away from everything we had planned to do so it ended up costing even more time and money. We are extremely dissatisfied with the customer service at the Fives. Its disappointing to have spent several days researching resorts in the area to plan our trip only to be relocated upon arrival.

While this property is beautiful with lots of nature and wildlife around and direct beach access, there are A LOT of inconveniences here. Firstly, the resort is decently spread out, so be prepared to walk long distances for everything. There is a golf cart service, but the carts are far and few between. Pretty much everyone in our group had sore feet or blisters by the end of our four night stay. I think the worst part about our stay was not being able to get food at any hour. While there are multiple food options, every time we wanted to eat, everything is closed. Like literally right now it’s 1pm, pretty normal lunch hours, and everything including the buffet is closed??? Like what??? As soon as the dinner restaurants open, there are lines out the door to get on the list because if you don’t get your name down, it’s like a 1.5 to 2 hour wait to get in! There are beach food options, but with all the nice restaurants they advertised, it’s disappointing to have to walk 20 minutes to get down to the beach for another burger because that’s all that is available. We ended up having to do room service one night and had to wait over 2 hours to get our cold, cafeteria quality food. The taco stand that they put up in the central hangout
location is worth staying up for though! Bars also closed at weird hours too. We never really got the flow of things here I guess. Our room was clean, but very basic. Our shower leaked all the way to the door of our room, though, so not ideal

The service was lacking at the pool. They offered a lot of sale speeches but didn’t even tell me I had epic benefit package. It took us an entire stay for them to fix our TVs. Service needs to improve and not everything be self service. Either add more staff or figure out what is lacking. All restaurants had really good food which is always hard to say for an all inclusive. The amenities offered different things for everyone from little kids to adults.

Nice resort, well maintained but they have a serious issue with the restaurants at night. Either you have to line up at 4:30 to join the waiting list at one of the restaurants, or wait 2hours to get a table. Either of which I dont want to do on a vacation. And the members jump ahead of you on the queue. Ended up going to Playa del Carmen for dinner on the last night as couldnt face the stress of another 2hour wait with 3 kids

Let me start by saying the staff was very friendly, attentive and fun. However a few things about the room. My room was in building 7. It was outdated, the safe didn’t work, the water wouldn’t get hot. I learned on my last day there is a trick to it. The pools were great, the entertainment was fun- especially the fiesta. Food options were great. I actually really liked the food at this resort. My flight with frontier was canceled so I had to pay for another night. This is where the staff wasn’t so accommodating. They wanted to up charge. We needed min 4rooms so it would be almost 1600 for 1 night. I ended up getting a room online for $250 and had them match that for the rest of my family but it took a lot of time to do that. Also the water in my sink was coming out brown. I loved the monkeys, the pools and the beach but I wouldn’t recommend this resort.
