Great location for a Newport wedding!

My family stayed here for two nights because we had a wedding in Newport. A great location and very easy to go back and forth to the events. The location is very pretty on the water and with a view of the bridge.
There is a cute coffee shop a short walk from the hotel.
The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious but the bedroom is very small. There is less than a foot from the foot of the bed to the furniture and about the same distance from the side of the bed to the AC shelf!!
I am a small person and had to shuffle through side ways!
The other issue with the room is the humidity - there is a dehumidifier that we had to empty 3 times in a day. The room smells like dirty sports socks/ stinky feet! Hopefully not every room smells like that - the hallway was ok.
Would stay again if the room didn’t smell!

Enjoy our stay - had room on the third floor, no balcony, but a great view of the bay. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. There was a problem with the pool so we could not use it. That did not bother us since we spent most of our time in Newport. One minor problem - only mirror was in the bathroom. Also no TV available in the workout room.

I’m a hotels.com high tier member, do a lot of traveling. This hotel is an absolute dump. Room smelled like mold, floor has large lumps under the carpet (feels disgusting walking around bare foot), bathroom door gets stuck when shut, need help getting out if you’re a smaller person. Bed extremely uncomfortable. Had to sleep on sofa bed because so bad. Place prob needs $2 million+ in renovations. Would definitely never stay here again.

I just didn’t feel we got out moneys worth. The location in regard to Newport was fine. Easy access and beautiful view.
Amenities were non existent. No restaurant or bar (said changing hands… closed at the moment- we were not informed). No housekeeping. Just not the relaxing stay we hoped for- paying over $500/night

Property is run down. Hallway carpet is caked down like a matt. Room smelled musty and like it had been treated with formaldehyde. No food on premises; only coffee for breakfast. Staff was nice. The kitchenette in the room was generously equipped with appliances, knives, silverware, glasses, and dishes. Great location.

We had a lovely stay. Reviews made me think the property was going to be outdated, old, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our unit was immaculate, and faced the ocean. The pool is small but was nice, and there is a quaint flower garden. Location is perfect, walking distance to great restaurants, I recommend Simpatico, and quick drive to Narragansett beach.

We stayed off-season during the pandemic so we were not able to experience the facility in it's entirety; however, we would love to stay again. Beautiful view of Newport bridge and harbor. Very clean. It was more updated than I expected. Our room was extremely comfortable; although I'd prefer a more modern taste in furniture. Town was less than 1/2 mile walk. Easy access to Newport.

Fabulous customer service! Very spacious suite with tons of extras (toaster, blender, dishes, etc.). Nice private deck area overlooking the bay. Building is a little older, but well taken care of. Great value!!

Lovely property in a beautiful location. Although it was too cold to get much use out of it, we appreciated the spacious balcony/patio with seating and a great view. Most amenities were unavailable because of winter and Covid, but the unit was very well stocked. Our only issue was the heating and cooling unit in the bedroom which we found to be impossible to regulate so we were cold in the evening and then woke up very hot as the night went on. Would definitely stay again!

We have arrived to a third hotel which was Club Wyndham after coming from great hotels in Cape Code and Martha's Vineyard. Upon entering the room and turning the air condition units on, awful smell started to come out, I am not sure if those AC units were not used or broken or had perhaps some animals in there living. Then after perfuming the AC units we noticed that room was in fact not fully clean and sheets were not changed from previous occupants. I really don't like to leave bad reviews, I can easy stay in 3star hotels without any issue. We had to check out earlier one day as smell was just overwhelming. When I reach out to Wyndham of possibly getting a one night refund they denied it, so this expedia which was the booking agent. Simply disappointed and would not recommend this hotel. One thing I can say is that they had the best chef and cooking was amazing out of the 2 other hotels we stayed in. I would most definitely recommend the restaurant and chef Hakim's cooking. I am also quite disappointed about Hotels.com booking through other parties and not their own.

This property is absolutely wonderful! Our trip was in the off season so we didn't get to fully experience all the hotel has surrounding area has to offer but we were more than pleased with the views and quietness that really helped to recharge our batteries. Too Short but Oh So Sweet

We were scheduled to stay at the Wyndham Bay Voyage in Jameston but due to maintenance Wyndam accommodated us at one of their facilities in New port. The room they gave us was ideal: great view, clean, comfy, and conveniently located to a great lobster shack. They also provided a sweet note and local bottle of wine to mark our anniversary-- nice touch.

The view form our deck was amazing. We spent hours just sitting and looking at the water. The kitchenette is very small so you have to be creative if you plan to cook. We used the grill at the pool and that worked out well

I was there in the midst of a horrific winter freeze. The staff is like my second family. The staff is very accommodating!

I am a world traveler and although not a famous resort hotel the Bay Voyage staff puts in #1 in the world. Higher than the best in Venice, Italy and Hong Kong!

The room is fabulous!

New Carpet Smell or Formaldehyde?

It's a nice enough hotel, however the new carpet smell is overpowering (Jun, 2018). The public stairways are horrible smelling. It was tough to open the room's windows, but it was necessary. (The smell was only lessened, however.) The pull out couch was hard, however a downy mattress cover helped that somewhat. Location is about 1 minute from the toll bridge into Newport. Basic service for a time-share, no daily housekeeping. 1 shampoo for 4 guests? 1 towel bar, so towels stayed wet and tiny bathroom became dank.

Pleasant time in Jamestown

We spent a day seeing sights in Jamestown. Did a little shopping. It was a lovely relaxing day. We had a good lunch at Slice of Heaven the food was fresh and delicious. They are a gluten free restaurant. The first night we dined at the Wyndham's restaurant. Service was excellent as was the food.

The Front Desk staff is fabulous! The seaside room with all windows facing the bay and bridge is spectacular! Having travelled all over the world, would have to rate this hotel a 5 out of a 5. The restaurant, although under separate ownership, is also, extraordinary!

Pretty view, close to everything in Jamestown

This is not a full service hotel, but they notified us right away about what to expect (no daily maid service and the restaurant affiliated with the hotel is closed on Tuesday). With that information we decided this was still a great deal. The proximity to the shore, stores/delis/cafes, and Newport or the mainland made this an ideal location. The friendly and efficient staff and excellent bar/restaurant in the building (closed Tuesdays) guaranteed a pleasant stay. This is a place to return to!

I was very disappointed in the \"hallway noise\" late at night and early morning. Additionally the bed collapsed during the 2nd. night. I reported both items to the manager and do not believe that this was a priority for her and I received a very hollow apology.

Really only option in Jamestown but quaint

Quaint hotel with character. Bedrooms are very small, and the living area is separated from the bedroom by a wall. View of Newport Bridge from the windows. Bedroom was cold at night since it was separated from the heating and air conditioning unit by a wall. Room was not serviced, bed was not made while we stayed. Dining area and bar had plenty of large windows with view of Newport in the distance. Food was okay. Would stay again, however, because options are limited in Jamestown.

Loved it. My 14 year old grandson is having radiation in Boston and having been there for a month and half we decided to get out of Boston for the weekend. We couldn't have picked a better place!! I will say the restaurant onsite was not good at all..venture out to eat!!

Relaxing on the bay!

Excellent clean and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in the superior room with a balcony overlooking the bay and town with a view of the Newport bridge. Very roomy and decorated beautifuly. We were going to dine in town or elsewhere but decided to try the restaurant here at the inn. A view that was fantastic in a half circle dineing room facing the bay and Newport bridge all lit up as the sun set. Romantic! The food was fantastic! Sirloin was like butter and so tasty and suchi incredible. No complaints whatsoever and we will go back!!!

You should stay here!

We arrived late on a freezing cold evening. The staff made sure our check-in was seamless and our rooms ready. And what a lovely room! The view from our room of the Newport Bridge with its twinkling lights was lovely. Granted, it was too cold to partake of the patio, but if we are back in the area in the summer, we will take full advantage of it. The room had a microwave, fridge, and full set of dishes and silverware. There was a TV in the bedroom and the living room, as well.

Nice hotel. Quiet location.

If you stay at this hotel, room 203 is a must! It has the best view and a huge balcony for morning coffee and watching the sunrise or an evening cocktail as the lights on the bridge come up. It is not your \"typical\" Wyndham, but a very quaint and rustic New England structure, right on the water with a beautiful view of sailboats moored just offshore. The hotel has a small workout room with several machines and some free weights. Also an outdoor pool which we didn't use because it was too chilly. There is a common room where coffee/tea/cocoa are available all day long as well as an upscale restaurant. A short walk to the small downtown area with several cafés and restaurants and a couple of shops. Be warned that the kitchens close early in many of the establishments. The first night we tried at 8:30 after just getting into town and EVERYWHERE had \"just closed the kitchen.\" We ended up having to drive about 15 minutes over to Newport, where of course everything was still open but parking was difficult because of the crowds on Labor Day weekend. The next night we tried at 7:30 PM but ran into the same problem. Drove a little further north of Newport to Middletown where places were still open but a little quieter. Not a long drive, but the bridge is a four dollar toll and it adds up when you go multiple times each day! Be sure to check out Fort Wetherill and the Beavertail Lighthouse. Gorgeous rocky vistas with waves pounding the shore. Excellent place for photographs!

At no point during the reservation process it was indicated as the case. Cheap coffee and toiletry. Very expensive for the value. It's well located, close to Newport, with an ok view of the bay.

Quaint hotel right on the water

We loved our stay. The room was clean, smelled great, had every convenience you could think of including a small kitchen (no stove or anything) but plates, glasses, wine opener, etc and a good size refrigerator. The bed was so comfortable with a wonderful down comfortee and fluffy pillows. The syaff was incredibly helpful, food was good and the views were fabulous. Straight across the water from Newport-convenient 13 minute drive.

A Bizarre Disappointment

In order to understand where I am coming from, you must understand...this is NOT a hotel. Worse, no one told us that until we found out the hard way. We stayed 2 nights, a Sunday and a Monday night. We found out what we were in only late Monday, when we returned to our room to find the bed unmade, towels still on the floor in the bathroom, waste baskets full. We went to the front desk, and were informed that maid service only happens on Tuesdays, that this is a \"time share\" a \"vacation club\". No idea what that means except it means if you stay however many nights that don't include a Tuesday you get no service. The pool was nice, thought we'd have drinks. There's no pool service, so I went to the front desk and asked if we could get drinks from the restaurant bar and take them to the pool. Answer : \"Gee, that's a good question, when you find out let us know\". So, I went to the bar and ordered drinks and tried to put them on my room. Well, you can get drinks to take but you can't charge them to your room, the restaurant is separately owned and operated and they only take credit cards and cash. Now, really...am I the ONLY person who has ever asked the front desk how that works????? For what they charge (about $330 a night) this experience should have been far better.
