The hotel could still use some more upgrades but it’s very nice. The staff is the best part of the hotel. The room was very cold and I could not figure out the heat which is not their fault. Water was nice and hot. They will get there if they continue to put in the work to renovate it.

Staff was very sweet and helpful. Each day the bed was made with new towels. Free water and coffee 24/7. Also they would hold your luggage after you checked out if you had a later flight. Room was clean and smelled nice. Bathrooms were clean and offered shampoo, soap, and conditioner. AC and heat worked great

Hotel is older, but still super clean and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Free water bottles, coffee and hot chocolate was a nice amenity and the rooftop lounge area qas nice to hang out and enjoy the night. Location is perfect!! Close to shopping in soho or getting on the subway for going uptown. Would definitely stay here again!

The location and price for Soho54 were/are both great - near NYU is ideal for our purposes. The room was clean, the shower was great. It could probably use a bit of love -- the paint and carpet look a bit tired, our door took an extra pull to get it shut, but we just wanted a clean place to shower and sleep and Soho54 fit the bill perfectly.
One thing I absolutely hate (and this is not unique to S54), you see the price including all taxes and assume that's it -- then on check in you get the 'resort fee' or 'amenity fee' or whatever they call it - an extra charge for the exercise room in the dungeon and the coffee machine in the room. Really? At $40/night, should have new coffee machines and exercise equipment every week! I hate sneaky fees, and 'amenity fees' are exactly that.

Upon arriving we were a little hesitant, the outside leaves a lot to be desired. But this property did not disappoint. It was outdated and I did use Lysol wipes on surfaces in our room. But I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Bed was comfortable, room was quiet, elevators were fast. Excellent location to Canal St.subway. Fantastic and clean bodega 24/7 next door. Unlimited free bottles water at front desk and a rooftop terrace. Luggage storage in lobby. Had everything we needed. Great bargain! Stayed a Friday-Sunday in Spring for $580 total.

The carpet was worn and had holes in some areas. The lighting in the rooms was not good. The lamps were flimsy and looked like they would break at any moment. I was given the option of which view I’d like, however my view was of a building. They boast a separate seating area, but there wasn’t one.

All in all, about what you’d expect for a budget friendly hotel. I felt safe at all times, so it was worth it.

Outdated. No fridge. Low water pressure. The area did not feel very safe to us(only girls). However, free water and coffee was excellent. Temp control works well. Metro station is close by. Overall satisfied but far from most of attractions.

Old and tired. It was a Hampton Inn originally so it wasn’t great to start with, but now it is just old and tired.

They make a small effort with free water and coffee. It’s a good value in the $150 range for Manhattan, if pricing is above that look elsewhere.

Very conveniently located by the Holland tunnel. Used a parking lot right around the corner on Varrick. Easy walk to get to the subway. Staff was very nice and friendly.

Staff at desk was super nice, but the carpets throughout building are in poor shape, the window didn’t close securely all the way (you can see the snow leaking in), signs of water damage along tub and towel rack visibly falling off the wall in the bathroom.

I would give the entire situation including the building, the space in front of the front door, the lobby, the courtesy of the staff, the room, the protocol how they run things inside, etc. etc. C+. -

Staff seemed nice but when I tried to check in early they were like \"20-40mins\" but I ended up waiting an hour and finally it was 3pm check in and the room was ready but no one let me know. Everything was dinged- walls, wood, wallpaper in bathroom stapled on bc it's rippling, carpet was all damaged and had runs in it. I'm usually not picky but this was bad! Room appeared clean though.

The room was clean, we got a hotel just to sleep wasn’t really looking for amenities so if you are I wouldn’t choose this hotel. The only thing that kind of stunk was I came with 2 kids and the TV is for show no connection no WiFi my kids couldn’t even use their iPads in the proofed WiFi for streaming their shows they had to connect to my hotspot. Also there wasn’t anywhere to hand out coats/jackets we just put them on the chair. Again we only stayed a day and we just needed a place to sleep before we went home!

Great price, great location super close to everything truly 5-10 mins away from every place we wanted to go and super close to the shopping district and kd attractions in the area! Most likely would book again if in town again!

well I stayed in 100's of hotels but I never stayed in a hotel room with a 6 foot window crack taped with scotch tape which made the room super cold at night,the hotel new there was a crack in the window but they gave me that room like I paid $10.00 a night.and then the heat shuts off at night and you cant make the room warmer.nice people work there but I am not going back to that place.thats why I checked out 2 days early I just could not take it.

Have always stayed in Midtown to be close to the shows but always found ourselves gravitating to SOHO to visit. 1st time staying in the neighborhood and loved the location; close to Spring and Prince St. and just a few minutes' walk to the subway. Team was super helpful and friendly. Felt it was well worth the price; definitely will be back.

The receptionist was friendly and nice. And upgraded me unexpectedly to a suite. But the upgraded room was not great. The phone was missing buttons, the wifi didn't work, there was water on the floor of the bathroom, mold in the shower, big scrapes in the wall, toothpaste splatter on the faucet, and no curtains to block the light from the open bathroom concept into the sleeping area. Unfortunately it was the only room in the hotel left so it wasn't possible to get the room I actually booked (or any other) instead. The bed was soft which was nice but there weren't any extra blankets - just the one thin one I had to fold over since I was alone and it's was a king size bed.

The staff were very nice and easygoing. The room was charming but very run down. The shade was broken and an attempt had been made to repair it with duck tape. It did not close. They offered to change our room but it was too much of a hassle for a two night stay. The WiFi was down so they didn’t charge us for this service. They did not discount for the broken shade. The sheets were some kind of poly blend so hot and not nice to sleep on. The air conditioner turns on and off all night so if this bothers you, it bothered me, you will not get a good night’s sleep!

Staff was very friendly and we got checked in quickly. Typical manhattan hotel, dated and smaller rooms. Bonus is they have king sized beds and there’s some space to put your stuff away so you don’t need to keep opening your suitcase.

Furniture in room could be reduced some to create more space. AC was comfortable and easy to adjust. Overall we slept well and weren’t in the room much, so it met our needs.

They didn’t have a mini fridge unless you request, luckily they did have this available for us. WiFi was good enough to do some work.
