Very nice hotel, very clean very friendly staff. The hotel has a great bar with nice desserts for late night cap. The rooms are beautiful and very quiet. Great shower & bath. We didn’t use the spa, it was also little too expensive but we took a peek and it’s quite nice.

The place was a classy endeavor from top to bottom. Staff was always friendly and helpful, property was clean and beautifully appointed and designed. I do wish the steam room and sauna were more private (a reservation did not mean exclusivity) and less uptight about swim trunks, but that's just my opinion.

I am afraid not good. We had 2 rooms and stayed 2 nights. During our stay Hotel had a technical problems with ventilation/bad smell.

The location of the hotel inside the old town is ideal. We took the train and then walked to the property. Very smart choice this time of the year (Christmas). We did have to wait a lot an hour for our room to be ready, but the staff was very nice and they invited us to a lounge with soft drinks and food while we waited. Room was spacious. Clean and modern. Shower was a bit tiny and we couldn’t figure out the thermostat (a bit too hot) but the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel was nice and as pictured in a great location. However given there was a significant price difference between this and the other hotels, we accepted this as we understood it had spa facilities. The spa was hugely underwhelming, the jacuzzi was cold and the steam room wasn’t hot enough either. This was a huge let down for us as we chose this hotel based on offering spa facilities.

The room itself was very small and only had a queen sized bed (saw this in reservation but hoped it would be a king). The room was in the attic, and no real room to move around in the room. The bathroom was also very small with NO counter space. Overall very disappointed for the price paid. Also, no turn down service or slippers, which is poor for a supposed 5-star hotel. They also didn’t warn us that we would have to drag our suitcases the last 1/2 mile due to Xmas market closures, as they did some other guests and transported their bags at least.

Always have an amazing time at Maison rouge - however a bit annoying that there is not an iron and irontable at the room and also had a large spider in the room (which ofc can happen, but not so nice nevertheless). Overall an amazing hotel, amazing beds and the best staff

Don't Say You Offer Valet Parking If You Don't

We chose to stay at Maison Rouge due to the location and the valet parking that we were told was available. I even left a specific message stating that we would be needing valet parking.
It was very dissappointing to receive an email the night before our arrival stating that the parking was full and we would have to find out own parking. I feel that you misrepresented yourself on your website. We had several large pieces of luggage that we had to transport on foot from out parking space. Needless to say, we are not impressed. The hotel and location are very nice but we would not stay at Maison Rouge again due to the fact that you didn't offer valet parking when your website says you do.

Checking in and out are very slow. Rooms are ok although not a 5 stars. Hotel Parking arrangements are not clear at the time of booking. Finding the hotel by car was impossible. Once found, if you did not make a reservation for it, you have no parking at the hotel.

We spent four nights in Strasbourg as part of an extended trip and were surprised at how great the stay turned out.

Many things made it that way:

- we traveled by train and there was a metro station underground that was easy-to-use and dropped us 100 steps from the hotel;

- the location of the hotel was essentially right in the center which made daily walks and food access easy. We found good restaurants, boulangeries, bars (the alcohol kind) nearby that were great;

- the staff was among the nicest and most accommodating we’ve had on this trip. They clearly take pride in their work….generally a sign of good management;

- the hotel itself was appointed nicely. I was a concerned that being on the main drag with metro trains below would make it noisy. Not at all - very good soundproofing OR quiet trains 😀. Either way it wasn’t a problem.

- we caught what appeared to be a little party in the bar on our last night. Good DJ and fun chats with all the people. It was a good vibe - and if it wasn’t just a one-off, it would make a future stay even better.

Definitely on the recommended list.

Just one of the hotels. Nothing special! Not sure this hotel should be rated as 5 star hotel! I stayed in 5 star hotels but this one is far away from it.

Restaurant next to the reception is far from 5 star hotel. Tables are dirty, no table cloth. When they bring you new dining set waiters just drop your fork and knife on a dirty table with bare hands.

Huge downside is that this hotel doesn’t have lobby. There is one sofa next to the reception where, if you are lucky that it is not occupied, you can sit if need to wait for something.

There are other hotels in Strasbourg.

It is a shame that such a hotel charges extra (25€) for a 60min sauna (you need to book an appointment), which should be included, when you promote yourself as a Hotel & Spa - with 5 stars and the corresponding price. Also the breakfast was not included and 34€ is quite a price if you only want a tea and some fruits.

Don't expect much if you're not a 'member'

We stayed here right after christmas since it's close to the main christmas market and it's suppose to be a 5 start hotel. In reality, it's 4 stars at best. They have a checkin time of 4pm, which is later than anywhere I've ever stayed at. We checked in promptly at 4 and was told that because a 'marriot member' decided to have a late checkout, my room was not ready. We finally got into our room at 4:45, after sundown. They brought our luggate to our room, but the person that brought the luggage didn't even knock. He just let himself in and shoved the luggage through the door. The room itself was fine. Nothing to write home about. The have a pool/spa, but if you want to use it, you'll have to pay by the hour or day, even if you're a hotel guest, which is ridiculous. If the prices were a bit lower I'd be more inclined to forgive them, but for what we paid, I was expecting better service and amenities. If I ever go back to Strasbourg, I'll definitely stay somewhere else.

Very disappointing. 1) no notice given that we couldn’t drive to the property, ended up driving around for 45 minutes trying to find an open road and then told we had to park a 15 minute walk away (should have received an email), 2) we called for an extra blanket and pillow and this $700 hotel room stayed “sorry, we are booked and we have no blankets or pillows, 3) at breakfast, they never brought us coffee after asking 3x, 4) asked concierge one question about finding a French baked good we liked and was treated with a “that’s not a good enough question for me”. All this and I’m a Marriott Titanium Elite member.

I keep seeing that this is a 5 star hotel, and no offense to them but it’s definitely not. It’s a decent autograph Marriott. I spent an exorbitant amount for a very tiny room, which I chalked up to it being a 5 star. But turns out I got absolutely gouged on the price because of the Christmas season. However my biggest problem is I left something behind and they won’t respond to let me know if they found it. And the pictures catfish ya a bit. If you look out your window and to the right it’s the bright neon sign of the cinema. Not quite as charming as the main photo. Oh and it’s directly above the tram line. This is good and bad I guess.

Some positives but some things must be fixed.

Hot water limited. Room temp not contollable. Paper thin walls with a screamer next door. Bed mattress/topper not properly affixed and not fixed when requested. On positive side, friendly staff, good concierge, clean, great location and room and bath were well appointed. Not enough to get me back there. Sorry.

This property was an absolute gem, and we would (and will) stay there next time we'll be in Strasbourg. Location truly superb, but I'm sure there may be other hotel options. What makes this hotel stand out in my opinion is its true boutique hotel feel. Small and elegant, and uniquely French and suitable in its architecture and feel... and the decor, so elegant, artsy and chic - in the most subdued elegant way! Srevice impeccable, rooms small, as to be expected in an older building, but the materials and finishes are modern, the bathroom incredible!!! We had a balcony, which was also such a beautiful touch, too! We loved EVERYTHING!!! We didn't stay long enough to try the restaurant downstairs because there are so many options in town, but I have do doubts it's nothing but 5-star! I wish we could have stayed longer...
