I stayed at this hotel 2 years prior on a bike trip and loved it. with the exception of the breakfast. it was a 6/10 for the breakfast. This trip I was disappointed. I asked for the same room and I got it . They were helpful that way. In the room I noticed it no longer had a mini fridge in it (which is a must for my bookings) At the front desk I was told it was because of their climate initiative ( only to find out later that the higher priced rooms still had their fridges) . Also , I thought the mornings breakfast was even worse . There were fewer items and I am assuming the \"hot food\" is maybe microwaved. and then put on a warming stove. ??? I think \instead of returning here as one of my favourites, I would try somewhere new.

The location is very accessible to the train station but the street has a slightly scruffy run down feeling, that said it’s only a short distance across the bridge to the main town. It was slightly noisy at night .
The building and rooms are fairly clean but showing their age , it’s an old building and my rooftop room was either snug or small , it wasn’t easy to open a suitcase and I was travelling alone.
The hotel lacked facilities, the dining area for breakfast was small and stuffy without any charm.
Overall a good base to explore Strasbourg, nothing fancy , very mid range hotel with an adequate provision but nothing exceptional.

They restrict your control over the temperature of the room to no lower than 22C. It was too hot the entire time. Only opening the window helped and not nearly enough. Terrible Wifi that would cut in and out all the time. These corporate hotels need to let go of the central control and let the gets do what is best for them. Comfortable bed but bad bedding. Friendly staff and helpful. Nice to have free water/sparkling water and free espresso. Shower too open and needs a wall to block water going everywhere. Would not stay here again or any other Accor Hotel because of the temperature control not under my control.

small room but big enough to have a queen size bed. Has a safe, a smallish but adequate bathroom, a towel warmer. Enough electronic outlets. Clean, comfortable. Close to the train station and in easy walking distance to the historic center.

Great location, just a few minutes from the train station and on the way to the city centre. Very quiet inside and towards the street outside. Free coffee, tea and fruits in the lobby. The booking confirmation had mentioned a free upgrade, not sure what this was as based on the size of the room, it surely was a \"Classic Room\" - maybe the room being on the 2nd floor rather than on the 1st floor? Modern & arty feel. Clean minimal lines, spotlessly clean throughout. Wifi could have been faster. Didn't go for breakfast based on the price on site.

The location is great, and check in was easy and fast. The room itself was quite nice, especially the thick curtains and fairly sound-proof windows. Only minor issues were no plugs near a mirror, making it a bit hard to style hair. Also, you could definitely hear people above when they were moving around/showering. Would ask for top floor if planning to sleep in.

Small rooms but very efficiently used space. Spotless! Rooms facing the rear (courtyard) are very quiet. I'm sensitive to noise and was not disturbed by either slamming doors, outside noise, or sound coming from other rooms. We came for just one night because of prior commitments and selected this hotel because of location, reviews and price. Everything was as it was supposed to be: clean room, comfortable bed. The A/C did stop cooling a couple of times, including in middle of the night and had to be reset. Breakfast was decent, not unlike better hotels.

Perfect hotel to end our holiday

Ideal hotel located for ease of access to the train station (departure screen in reception), and for the beautiful petite France area and grand cathedral. Very good air con, which is needed on the peak of the summer heat. Overall great stay with lots of unusual fixtures & fittings!

Very nice!! The hotel is steps away from the central train station and the beautiful city center of Strasbourg. Many excellent restaurants and cafes nearby (as is the case in most of central Strasbourg). The double room was very confortable and modern with a decent sized bathroom, mini fridge and a small balcony. Hotel staff was super cool and helpful. My overall experience was very positive, as is usually the case in my experience with Mercure hotels in Europe.

Be prepared, there is limited access

When we arrived at the hotel with our heavy luggage, we were disappointed to find out there was no elevator to access our rooms on floors 2 and 3. The clerk, an 18 year old girl, offered assistance, but we carried them up ourselves.
The bathroom was directly behind the headboard with no wall, just a sliding glass door. The bathroom was split in 2 by the shower (which was fantastic!) There was no bathroom privacy!

This place is fine, but i was quiet dissapointed because i booked a double bed room, but on arrival they didn't have any left so offered me the 'Prestige room' which is supposed to be un upgrade, but the room looked like Austin Powers' den with no window and gives directly onto the breakast area... so I refused and had to get a twin room, which is a downgrade, and obviously no compensation. I would have preferred that they just gave me the room i had booked.

Nicely furnished. Lift was small and often full. Room was European small, but bathroom was actually quite large. Espresso machine available in lobby. Was free, but changed to €2 per capsule during our stay for some reason. Did not try the breakfast (how good could it be for €17.50?).

Good location. Less than 10 minutes to the train station. 10 minutes to the covered bridge and about 15 minutes to the cathedral in the middle of town. Nice bakery open 7 days across the road, 2 supermarkets within 5 minutes walk.

Would stay there again.

Just weird!

Good position close to station. Room was small and that's ok BUT the room we had was in the roof and so was slanted so much that it was hard to stand up next to the bed without hitting my head and I'm only 5 ft 7 inches! As well there was an ill placed oversized lampshade attached to the bed head in the position that, had I sat up in bed, it would have been in the middle of my back..... Just weird! Disappointing !

Good Hotel and close to the heart of old Stasbourg

Excellent position just five minutes walk from the station and a few minutes walk into Petit France. Hotel has small rooms but with tea/coffee facilities in the room it can be home from home. Modern decor and very clean. Reception area funky and with more tea/coffee facilities 'gratuit' The location makes walking to all the main tourist sites easy to access with the cathedral no more than fifteen minutes stroll. The covered bridges are just around the corner. Great selection of restaurants and salon de the but some can get fully booked. Even so there are loads of other choices. Our stay included a national holiday November 1st which meant that most museums etc were closed. Note that the first Sunday of each month museums are free and that is great as long as it is not a public holiday.
We visited The Palais Rohan which contains a number of museums. The gem though was the Alsace Museum which we thought was delightful.
The Horloge in the Cathedral was only 2 euros but we waited about an hour for the demonstration which we found an anti climax.
Transport very effective. We brought a trio 24 ticket which covers up to three people for 24 hrs on the trams etc. The cost was just over 6 euros and a bargain.
We took the shuttle train from the airport to Strasbourg station. Quoted as up to four trains an hour but only one an hour when we returned to airport on a Sunday - check the timetable.
A very worthwhile cultural visit with loads of history and amazing old Germanic buildings etc

Very modern as you can see from the pictures, but also so much more. Really liked this hotel. Perfect location between the old city and train station. Clean, comfortable rooms with modern amenities (even A/C!), and all sorts of free perks to be discovered (free nespresso in the lobby). Parking is at the train station garage a couple blocks away, but you get a reduced rate. Last but not least, the breakfast is awesome. Top-notch coffee/cappuccino/etc machine, good eats, and a freaking orange press machine that makes you fresh OJ. How great is that??

I was very pleased with the hotel. The room was well appointed and quiet (not huge, but plenty big enough for a one night stay), and the bed extremely comfortable. The feel of the hotel is bright and clean and the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel is in a pleasant street, an easy walk to station and city centre. Car parking was in multi-storey carpark at the rail station and good value arranged at reception. We chose not to have the hotel breakfast - it was a beautiful morning and we strolled to a nearby cafe. I left my favourite coat in the room and was absolutely delighted at the way the staff handled the situation. The coat has since been posted back to me in the UK - fantastic customer service! I take time to choose hotels, and really struck gold here - excellent price for a really nice city hotel which I can thoroughly recommend.

Very near from the TGV station, excellent for tourists travelling via rail. Rooms have all essential facilities and are new and clean. Very friendly service at the reception - readily offered a bucket of ice and wine glasses for the bottle of wine I've brought back to the room. The complimentary Nespresso and Nescafe capsule machines for coffee and tea were a pleasant surprise too!

Our stay was short but wonderful!! The hotel is so different and unique, the decorations are very modern and the room (beds included) are very comfortable! It is a typical European hotel, so size wise, beds are a little smaller for anyone a little larger. I loved it, the service was great and the location was amazing. It was within in walking distance to everything (including the train station). We will definitely be staying in this hotel whenever we come back to Strasbourg!

We spent four nights at the Mercure Strasbourg St-Jean Petite France. The hotel is an easy stroll - with baggage - from the main railway station and is also very close to the restaurants, cafes, shops and cultural attractions of central Strasbourg.

The design of the hotel is typical Mercure: ultra-modern with clever use of space. This worked well in the room, which even though small had ample space for two claustrophobic adults to relax. It worked less well in the breakfast area, where different foods were scattered among a number of separate stations and too many patrons were seen standing around bewildered.

The room offered excellent sound insulation that nearly silenced the wretched busker (singular) playing out on the street at all hours. As well, the windows and balcony door did open for ventilation. The bathroom was small but comfortable and functional. Its ventilation could have been better, though. There were ample power points for modern technology addicts.

Updated hotel, friendly staff, sewer gas smell

The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance of the train station, Petit France district, downtown Cathedral, and all major tourist sites. The overall look of the hotel was great, very modern and updated. Bed was comfortable, but it appears when they updated the hotel there was some issues with the drains in the bathrooms as the smell of sewer gas was overwhelming when a neighboring room had on their shower. Sheets were a bit scratchy (as were towels) and the room was pretty clean (not immaculate, but nothing that was unacceptable). Would most likely not re book here as the sewer gas was a major turn off for my wife and I, but for the value you can't beat it.

We stayed here for one night in late April. Location was close to downtown however neighborhood was not that pretty. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable but it was cold during our stay and heating was not working, we reported it but were told they were not able to locate the technician so nothing could be done, we were given an extra blanket and free breakfast the next day.

Was ok ay best. When we arrived we discovered the safe was broken - this was not reassuring especially when the maintenance people accused of breaking it! Second, we could not control room temperature without opening windows. Since we were fronting a busy street, the noise kept us from having good nights sleep! overall rating is poor.....

The Hotel is central to the old part of the city and 5 mins walk from the train station. The room was small and the air conditioning didnt work! Upon notification of the fault the staff were happy to fix it but the weather changed!

Great hotel and good location for the price!

The hotel staff was really friendly. It had free WiFi and good signal from my room. the room was spacious as well as the bathroom with hotel amenities. I didn't take the breakfast there because it was quite expensive. So I had it in a local cafeteria in the city. It is only one or two blocks away from the city center on 2 blocks from the train station. I think it is a really good hotel for a really good price. If you want to explore Strasburg this is the place. Some other hotels in the city are more expensive and I think staying at this hotel it is not really necessary to spend that much money in one It all depends on your budget. But it is worth it!

Delivered everything I wanted

The Mercure Strasbourg St Jean was one of three Mercures in Strasbourg. It was somewhat cheaper than the others and a reasonable price. My primary requirement was proximity to the train station since my son and I were traveling through northern Europe on trains. It was very convenient and nicely appointed. The only thing that kept me from giving it a perfect score was the fact that the first morning I went down to the lobby and a crew of workers were there with jackhammers removing the tile floors. The front desk would have been more considerate to warn guests to expect noise and dust but they didn't. But in the name of improving the floor finishes I understand why they were doing it.
The quiet room was very clean and cleanly designed in dark browns and whites; a \"man's\" style, which would appeal to women as well. The beds were very comfortable. Unlike most hotels we stayed at in other cities, the room had a small water boiler with coffee and tea, a small thing that all hotels should provide for this price but most don't. Wifi worked perfectly with the password they provided. The bathroom was very clean with modern fixtures (hey, I'm an architect so I notice this stuff).
I needed a workout after too much sitting on trains. The hotel didn't have its own gym but gave you a free pass to a health club right across the street which was actually much better than any hotel fitness center. Like almost all hotels these days, it didn't offer complimentary breakfast, unfortunately. But the street had some great bakeries and other simple restaurants.
Strasbourg is a fantastic town that should not be missed. I loved the train station which was recently clad in a glass bubble. The neighborhood was great; very safe and close to the charming old town and the amazing cathedral. Stay at the Mercure and you won't be disappointed.

Would use this hotel again

Quality of room: Good, it is spacious, modern, clean and tidy. However the room is tidied more than cleaned by house keeping if you are staying for more than one night.

Quality of staff: All very good and helpful.

Location: Good, it is near to the train station, centre of town and convenience stores

Would definitely use this hotel again.

Convenient location for station

Good location - 5 minutes from rail station. The room was good, except they must have taken out a bath and put in a huge shower (waste of space). A bath is nice to soak in after a day's walking! Breakfast was quoted as 16 Euros each (we did not have it) so we went to a local cafe at 6 Euros.

Great Value, Great Location

This hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from a major train station with tons of restaurants and shopping along the way. The afternoon reception team was excellent. I had a room with a terrace that overlooked the street. If you're sensitive to noise, then don't get a terrace room only because the evening meal-goers can get noisy. It didn't bother me as I expected it given I was there during the European Parliament event.

The room was small, clean with a great shower. Also, this hotel has a partnership with the restaurant across the street to provide room service so food was excellent. If I ever return to Strasbourg (I was there on a business trip) I will stay at this hotel.

Excellent Strasbourg Hotel

Hotel looks like it was newly renovated. Room was clean, comfortable and modern. One of the nicest bathrooms we've seen in a hotel.
Breakfast in hotel was overpriced. There are boulangeries and grocery stores in the area for other options.
This hotel is within easy walking distance of the train station.
