Rooms need updating and no housekeeping...beautiful building but rooms are terrible
Kotda
Amazing
Galia
The building is beautiful, with charming colonial architecture and excellent amenities. The pool and hot tub are outstanding and were the highlights of my stay. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely on the second and third floors. The carpets were very dirty, the rooms were dusty, the public bathrooms were not clean, and the living room furniture was heavily stained. The air conditioning units had visible mold, which was unacceptable. The kitchen, if you happen to see it, was also very dirty and disorganized.
Only two staff members were genuinely friendly and helpful. Most of the others, especially those serving breakfast, seemed to be in a bad mood. I stayed for three nights and four days, and housekeeping cleaned my room only once despite several requests.
On the weekend, the hotel became crowded. Guests smoked around the pool and ignored the rules, yet no one from the staff intervened.
This property has the potential to be a first-class hotel because the building is beautiful, the breakfast is good, and the restaurant next door is excellent. However, management needs to focus on cleanliness, proper maintenance, and better staff supervision. With those improvements, this could be an outstanding place to stay.

They stop the breakfast at 9 am,
Morgan
Great location, beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The gym was also impressive for a hotel gym and we made good use of that. I liked that they left coffee, tea and water in the lobby 24/7. Continental breakfast was standard but the omelet bar was a nice add! Property was nicely kept. My one complaint would be that we requested an extra pillow and towel from the desk and it was never delivered to the room.
Rajesh
Room was decent clean. Carpet could be even better. Staff were reasonably good. Custom omelet was the highlight of the breakfast.
Jim
it was good for a breakfast bar
Herman
Awesome place, clean with friendly staff.

I was turned away at the front desk. Hotel was overbooked and I was told they didn’t understand why Expedia would even allow the booking to a hotel with no rooms available. It was not a great situation.
Johnny
Great accommodations, will use in the future
Gregg
Comfortable rooms, semi-updated. Free breakfast was excellent with many options and convenient hours. Pool area very well kept.
Eduardo
Great please, very clean and accessible
Robert
Room look just like pictures, staff was amazing, and the breakfast was delicious
Joel
Breakfast was good.
Bedside was good.
I stay here at least once a month.
My only complaint is the lat pull down machine in the gym is missing a clasp.
I will be returning and staying again very soon.

Outstanding value for the price. We paid $79 for a King Suite. $25 added for the dog room fee and we had 2 dogs, but they charge per room, not per dog. Amazing that they had custom made Omelets on the free breakfast with 3 pans going at once and very friendly cooks. The mattress was a bit firm for me but some people would love it. Excellent quality towels. Shower was good but took a long time for the hot water to arrive. When it did, it was super hot. Excellent huge dog walk area with a full supply of doggy bags. One thing to mention is that they charge extra for early check in. We arrived at 2 PM and were told there were 3 rooms ready but they would charge $40 for 2 hours early, and $20 for one hour early. SO, we left and came back at 4 PM. Other than that, it was a great value and I'd stay there again. Just don't expect the Ritz for this price.
Tristan
Stayed in a different room the second night. Clean quite comfortable. Everything was great.
Tristan
I would say this is probably one of the best best westerns that I’ve stayed in. I like all the best westerns, but this one by far was the best one and I’m guessing because the location in Florida but either way we got him pretty late, but staff was very helpful. Very nice. The room was clean. Everything was well kept. I will be going back and staying another night.
George T.
Great value. It’s an older place but well kept. Comfortable firm bed. Clean open pool. Free convenient parking. Friendly staff. The breakfast included makes this place overall a great deal. Areas that you could improve are softer thicker towels, more complementary soap, and whoever is the maintenance guy needs to stop being lazy and tape off areas before painting or using caulking (yes I notice those things because I do those things right when I do it). I would stay here again and would recommend it for family and causal getaways. The small details make it short of a romantic level place but the general customers and family trips will love the value.
Barbara
Due to dietary restrictions if you could offer turkey bacon or turkey sausage would be great, and having an omelet bar was really a plus.
Isabel
Beautiful hotel with delicious breakfast, and amazing staff!! Jeff and Dex were especially helpful and professional!
Peter
Attentive staff
Joanna
Horrible customer service, tried charging my card 12 times 2 days before my stay, it denied because it was locked to prevent fraud, but they never called to say there was an issue. I called and unlocked the card, charged the room and relocked it. When we got there they charged us $20 to check in 2 hours early, to a room that way already clean and empty. I used a different card, they changed the ENTIRE STAY to the new card, even though they had already charged me on my original card. GM was less than helpful or pleasant focusing on the fact that my locked card denied 2 days early, not the incompetence of his staff or fixing the problem. We are in town often for tournaments, we will be staying somewhere else
EMANUEL
Clean room
Rosa
Did not like the 20.00 early check in fee.
michael
We had great omlets and coffee at the provided breakfast. The room was nice too. Convenient location to where we needed to be.
Sarah
We really enjoyed staying here. It’s very clean and in a good location. It also has a good breakfast
Marco
There wasn't much to like except for the restaurant next door.
Joanne
The carpet in our room had a few issues. Only one garage can. Didn’t know it was a handicap room.
Derik
Full of kids with softball tournament. They run around the hallways the entire time playing ding dong ditch. All night long as well !! Terrible experience!

Drove in Thursday afternoon around 3pm. Was told by the hotel staff it would be an additional $20 to check-in early. Check-in is 4pm. Lobby is well put together, very worn furniture but overall looked ok.
Was checked into room 104 on the first floor. Room is tucked away from all the other rooms which is nice. Upon walking into room immediately came across a warm room. Ok, no problem turned the a/c down. Here where the problems start. Dirty sheets with some unknown stains, stains like something was spilled on the walls, very worn chair in the corner and chair at desk, light on the desk was broken no way to turn on, and a unknown white substance that was looked to be \"squirted\" onto the floor. Also, during my stay the sink where I washed my face/brushed my teeth clogged and the water did not go down for several hours ( front desk was contacted) maintenance did come when I was away fixed the issue, left there tools in the room.
Next morning my son used the restroom to which the toilet did not flush or go down. Decided to check out early. Explained my frustrations to the gentleman at the front desk and let him know the manager may contact me if they have any follow up questions. I do have pictures of everything I have listed above and would provide if needed.

Great breakfast by normal standards. Room was clean enough. I'd stay there again
Edward
Property is showing its age. We understand renovations cost money, but sooner or later they will have to be done, or the hotel will begin losing money. Overall we enjoyed the stay.
Kateri
Property is basic…except the pool area is really nice and the breakfast is fantastic. Location works great for us so we will continue to stay here in the future.
Katherine

Very nice breakfast! The omelette station was a a great feature. The pool and hot tub were good! The room was “tired” and old. The location is convenient.

The Day shirts Front desk Clerk , Male with a beard , was NOT very Helpful at All. He was not very Friendly and hen I asked for towels for the pool and he was worse with his Explanation of the $20 Extra fee for early check in.
Gregory
Everything was excellent.
Meredith
Clean place.
Kala
My stay was great - I was even the “Guest of the Day”, which was cool! I was in town for the Morgan Wallen concert, so basically all I did here was sleep in the bed. The room could have smelled better, but I would stay here again!
Christina
Room was very clean and comfortable.

Had an early shuttle to airport, so didn't get breakfast. Very pleased with the shuttle service at 5am
Sara
Good breakfast selection and ease of check in that allowed bigger dogs.

Liked. Location, the free breakfast, coffee, juice, pool. Resteraunt. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, hot hot shower. Nice large TV. Ease of check in and check out
Helpfulness with questions.
Didn't like, the air-conditioning was loud. The floor in restroom had rust on floor near toilet. Cost adjustment request denied.

Very disappointed to realize our room had not been properly cleaned from the prior guests (hair in bedding, ice bucket resting in spilled food residue, bathroom floor grimy). Housekeeping did not clean our room one time over a 3-night stay (but was very responsive providing additional towels when we requested).
Very poor water pressure in shower and extremely thin walls/insulation between rooms (could clearly hear family conversation in next room at normal volume).
Breakfast was the best part of the trip - omelette station was very nice.
Overall very disappointed we were not provided a clean, maintained room considering the inflated prices we were charged for graduation weekend. Will not be coming back.

The hot tub turned my pandora bracelet grey. Bathroom floor had mold in the corners.

We found a hotel a little bit moist, ask for a couple of bottles of water and they told us we had to buy it that 100% but marketing
The breakfast during the week closes at 9 AM although university of Florida had graduation and the hotel was packed, at 9 AM to remove the bagels and everything in literally 60 seconds.
We asked for towels that never came in also
Not the best choice in Gainesville

The hotel is older but pretty clean. The rooms are a bit dark and dated but comfortable. Nice they have a fridge and freezer in the room and a large tv. The bed and pillows are comfortable. Nice outdoor pool and hot tub. (pool not heated). I would rather have the pool heated than have a hot tub, but nobody asked me, lol. The wonderful breakfast includes made to order omelets and real sausage or bacon, grits, along with oatmeal and all the fixens, cereal, bagels and toast and pastries juices and Belgian waffles.
Susana
Breakfast was awesome!
Troy
Breakfast was great. Bed was in the hard side and our view was the roof/ac unit
Holly
Clean, decent breakfast, comfortable stay.
Veronica
Amazing breakfast and omlet station. However, I would not stay here if you are visiting University of florida. I booked this place because it was in Gainesville and yet it took 22 minutes to get to the dorm

Clean room, friendly staff, and a good location.
Tiffany
Clean/great shower/the breakfast was 5 stars for a hotel and the staff was very welcoming and helpful.
William
Nice clean room great breakfast. Fox News was blocked out on tv ?? Handicapped accessible room was the room furthest from the lobby/entrance. Tough on someone with mobility issues.
Kelsea
The room was very run down and falling apart, the sick was falling off the wall the shower didn't even drain right it flooded the floor of the handicapped shower. I had a 2year and they make you tell them the age of your child and they still gave me this room my son fell multiple times on the floor of the bathroom it never really dries out so it remains wet for the whole stay I was there 5days and feel like I paid to stay in a dump and it is not a cheap price
Joel
Was good.

Omelets made for breakfast. Hotel was clean. Staff was friendly. Decent property and maintained. Only thing I didn’t like was the beds were not queen size.
Richard
My room wasn’t house capped in bed not made when I asked at the front desk. They said you have to request housekeeping I said how am I supposed to know that and the person on the desk said whoever checks you, Lynn should tell you and I said you checked me in. Also someone in hotel staff got into my room when I was fishing all day and took all my medication for the various conditions I have that were in my pill holder seven days worth of meds eight medication‘s per day. I will never stay there again.
Sean
The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was very good. The staff was very polite, courteous and helpful. Nice sports bar/restaurant on property as well.
Donna
Great staff. Water line broke on 3rd floor causing quite the dripping and puddle in the bathroom in our room below. It was the night before we left so stayed in the room and tried to work around the mess. Management did the right thing and had a restoration company in early the next morning. So issue is being taken care of in good time. But it made for a difficult last night stay for us.
Ashley
Cute hotel for a quick stay. Had some character building was cool.
