The friendliness, attentiveness and overall good vibes from the staff were likely the highlight of the trip. Breakfast buffet was great, lunch options by the pool were outstanding, especially Maria’s tacos and quesadillas, those were probably the best food we had during our stay! Unfortunately, dinner was not great and there’s room for improvement there in terms of quality and variety.

The rooms were fairly clean, however, there was poop on the front of the bowl of our toilet prior to our arrival. It was never cleaned. All other housekeeping services were really good.
The food was TOO good! The only less than great food I had was during breakfast. The pancakes, waffles, etc were always extremely dry. All other food was amazing!! The steak was exceptionally tender and delicious, as well as the chicken legs and thighs.
The pool and beach were amazing! Such a pretty view! The only concern that I had was that there were very frequently cups, plates, etc. left laying around the pool area for numerous hours. Sometimes even overnight.
Great place, we definitely plan to go again someday.

I come here for the fantastic diving. Dressel divers are on location which is very convenient. I paid for an upgraded room near the beach which was very comfortable. The food is very good in the main restaurant but I wouldn't recommend the smoke house. It was poor. The other restaurant location near the pool is currently under construction so the peace is sometimes interrupted by the sound of chain saws and nail guns! There was no notification of this unfortunately. The staff are wonderful. Always happy and friendly. The mosquito control is excellent. I didn't get a single bite...and they love me!

The property is spotless and I love the private setting with small villas and walking paths throughout. The food is great - thoroughly enjoyed the dinners and breakfast buffet - lots of options. Very nice property - beautiful. Plenty of pool and beach chairs. Staff friendly and accommodating. Clean rooms, property, pool and beach. Ocean entry from beach is dead coral, so swim shoes/socks are needed. There is a pier with steps to enter the water and there are fish for snorkeling. Dressel Drivers are on site for booking water sports. Nightly entertainment is LOTS OF FUN!!! Top shelf drinks! Food is very good. Wildlife is excellent! We booked a Jr Suite that slept 4. Private bedroom with barn style sliding door to living room that makes a separate bedroom. Flat screen TVs in both rooms. Walk-in closet with safe in master bedroom and a deck with chairs, table and hammock.. Living room had sofa-bed, table and chairs and minifridge (beer and soda). and entry to the only bathroom, which is a very nice bathroom with shower only. There are refillable water stations pretty much everywhere. We've stayed at many Iberostar Reports (multiple in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Tulum and Dominican Republic) and would return. Flight in was great even with the Government/TSA shutdown BUT missed our connecting flight outbound due to Dallas ground stop. Had to get a hotel and fly out the next day.

I will give props to our American Airline Rep who took care of our luggage, gave us info on where to stay and got us booked for the next flight home. She even taped up our damaged bag (totaled) - bc of her we didn't loose any belongings.

We absolutely love Cozumel, and after visiting several resorts on the island, Iberostar is easily our favorite.

The on-site dive shop was fantastic, even offering complimentary introductory scuba classes each morning—a great perk whether you’re new to diving or just curious to try it. The food was consistently delicious, and the resort itself is stunning, surrounded by lush, dense vegetation and vibrant wildlife. It’s not unusual to see peacocks, parrots, coatis, iguanas, and even a few friendly cats roaming the grounds.

The nightly entertainment was another highlight. The theater productions were genuinely impressive, with talented lead performers who delivered polished, high-energy shows. During our stay, the resort also set up pop-up bars and food stands throughout the property, which added a fun, festive atmosphere.

We especially enjoyed spending time painting ceramics on the beach, along with other activities like poolside games, sunset yoga, and beach volleyball. One standout experience was a private couples dinner on the beach—at $200 all-in and well worth it for a special evening.

The only drawback is that direct ocean access from the beach can be a bit tricky due to the rocky shoreline. That said, there’s a well-built staircase leading into the water from the pier, making it easy to swim and snorkel. While there isn’t much sandy seabed, the snorkeling was still very enjoyable.

A special shoutout to Manolo, Jocelyn, & Carlos for going above and beyond!

A nice, small resort with good food. Everything felt close together and easy to get to. The pool and beach were great. In the hotel room, the bathroom could use some updating, but beds were comfortable. Because it wasn't crowded, it wasn't noisy after about 10 pm, when the evening entertainment ended.

Resort is set in a lush jungle-like swtting with rooms in small buildings (4 rooms per building). Nice comfortable rooms in good condition and clean. Good food at restaurants and good selection at buffets. Usually a special lunch served by the beach/pools. Good beach with some shade if you want it. Activities for adults and kids daily and nightly shows were ok. Downsides - sewage smell near area where nightly shows held; we were subjected to a sales pitch upon arrival; little to no hot water in showers - fairly minor items overall.

This was average for its price range. The staff were very friendly, but way too few with minimal service pool side or in the restaurants. They head centralized water centers, but the containers they provided were heavy, bulky glass containers. The water near our room was out of service for the week. Despite asking every day for Coke in our mini fridge, they made continued to say she was out. We tried all three restaurants. The food was bland and usually cold. The remainder of the time we ate at the buffet, which was essentially the same fair every evening and all things were room temperature and bland. The location was very close and great for diving to pick us up on the dock but very far from town requiring a $25 cab ride. overall, it was an acceptable stay, but I would not return to this hotel.

The staff were amazing (shoutout to everyone that works here)!

The pool and beach were fantastic, however I do have a major complaint - they need more sand on the beach volleyball court. Multiple people were smacking their knees and toes off of cement as there was the tiniest layer of sand over concrete. It’s been 4 days and my knee is still disgusting and won’t heal and it’s been cleaned and take care of properly.

The food was good, but I was disappointed with how the smokehouse restaurant only had Americanized type food. We were excited for a nice steakhouse type (something more authentic, but pub style food)

Resort was beautiful. A little confusing to get around at times, but it was a fun challenge at first

Rooms are nice, but the bathroom has no fan or windows that open - you can hear everyone doing their business in there and it smells up the whole room. Not having windows that open also caused our stuff to be damp and musty smelling. Beds are comfy

Beach was deceiving. Closed two days due to winds, and a miserable walk out into the water from the beach. Very rocky even with water shoes. There is pier access into the water farther in that is waist-chest deep and was fine. Could’ve been just a bad week of weather, but we could barely see anything as compared to the pictures of the other beach, resorts, and areas on the West Coast of Cozumel. A little disappointing that what we came for was virtually unusable for snorkeling or even just walking in to the water from the beach.

Food was ok, only Mexican restaurant really was amazing. Lots of variety, mediocre quality. Also, they didn’t seem overly concerned that the native raccoon species of Coati, regularly assalted the dining hall and one breakfast, even just climbed into my wife’s seat and eat her her food off her plate. They’re cute, but I have sanitation concerns.

Rooms/bungalows are tight, and we had giant American cockroaches last two days. They sprayed, but concerning. Other than that, the pools were nice and the jungle atmosphere of the resort is very calming.

We use the gym multiple days and it has enough to get the job done, including a squat rack, a bench press and multiple cardio machines.

No hot water in the morning all five days. Pool water was too cold to enjoy. Speciality restaurants were under staffed with lots of empty tables, but making people wait 40 minutes each night.
The fish entree served at lunch and dinner was called coal fish, which is pollock. This fish was not pollock, probably mackerel, very salty and fishy.

Gorgeous resort with the friendliest staff all over. Be aware that the beach has a reef so you definitely need water shoes although there is a pier from where you can get in the water. Food was delicious and fresh and they were also very accommodating to food allergies which for our family is gluten. Nayeli, the kitchen supervisor was the best at making sure each meal was safe at the buffets and the restaurant were also very good with that. Also, for lunch, Maria made the best tacos!

The resort is so nice looking with unique features at the resort and your room. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The bartenders will give you some pretty nice stuff if you ask for it. The restaurants are a little loud so we ended up doing the buffet after the first few nights. Fortunately the buffet always has some nice food.

First of all this property is touting itself as a five-star resort which is absolutely not the case, if you're expecting 5 star hospitality then look someplace else. I suppose it might have been a five-star when it opened in the 90s but today I give it a three star. Maintenance was quick to respondas I had five service requests in the room from toilet mechanical issues to the AC and making a terrible racket usually at 3:00 a.m. Tipping is important here as it definitely increases the service availableity and effort by the staff (bring change). The highlight of this property is the dive shop Dressel divers. Very professional well organized dive shop that can handle large and small groups and everything in-between.

The Iberostar in Cozumel is an exceptional resort! The staff is so hospitable and extremely friendly. You feel pampered from the moment that you arrive. The grounds are beautifully manicured and lush. The rooms are spotless and impeccably cleaned and stocked daily. There are five restaurants , and they all offer different, delicious cuisine every night. From Thai, to Mexican to BBQ, so much great food! The Snack Shack, just steps away from the pools and beach, has a great balance of all day food choices- fresh melons, fruit, pastries, cheese, hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, ice cream, and so much more. Parents and children are kept happy between meals.
There is an excursion coordinating office right at the resort. Go scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and so much more! The boats leave right from the pier at the resort. So convenient!
The beach and snorkeling/ swimming at the resort is calm, beautiful and safe. I could go on and on! My husband and I stayed for seven days, and we will definitely be going back! Highly recommend this resort!!!

We stayed at Iberostar Waves Cozumel for a week and absolutely loved it. The resort is very clean, cozy, and well maintained, with a truly relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.

The food was consistently good, with plenty of variety throughout our stay. What really stood out was the staff—everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help.

One of the best parts was the beach and pool area. There were plenty of chairs available at all times, so there was no need to rush early in the morning to reserve a spot. The water is crystal clear, perfect for snorkeling right off the beach. We saw tons of fish, and even spotted a stingray, starfish, and a barracuda close to shore.

Overall, this is a wonderful place to unwind, enjoy nature, and truly relax. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful Cozumel getaway.

The hotel grounds and pool area are very nice and well maintained. The rooms are extremely small, and the furnishings quite dated and in need of replacement. There is a lot of mold in the wall-mounted bath products, the bed and pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, especially for two average size adults on the double bed. The food and drinks left a lot to be desired... the individual restaurants were worse than the general buffet. The selections at the buffet were fine with a good variety, but probably the worst quality food Ive ever had at a resort. As many others have mentioned, the bar selection is extremely limited and the liquors are very watered down. Every cocktail is also loaded with sugar, and consistently had to ask for none or less to be added. The dock and swim area were small but nice. We enjoyed snorkeling and saw a good variety of fish. There unfortunately is a non-refundable deposit to use the \"free\" kayaks and catamarans. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and competent. Lastly, bring everything you need because the gift store was the most expensive I have ever been too. Dont forget your hat or sunscreen because you will pay 10x too much for them on-site. Getting kids a trinket or buying some tequila is better at the airport.

The room was dated but perfectly adequate for a beach vacation. Housekeeping kept it spotless throughout our stay. We stayed during a very busy time so the resort was quite full but never felt crowded and there was plenty of pool and beach space for everyone. The staff seemed a bit stressed but were always pleasant and helpful. Food quality and choices were top notch. We came to dive and it doesn’t get much more convenient than this. Dressel Divers has a shop and dock on premises and Palencar Reef is a short boat ride away. The reef was vibrant and healthy as ever. So the dive experience underwater is excellent. However Dressel crowds 30 divers on each boat which is simply too much. They can’t even carry enough air for everyone and need to go back to the dock to reload between dives. The resort grounds, amenities and adjacent areas are gorgeous and safe for long long walks. Overall a very positive experience at Iberostar Cozumel.

We enjoyed the beautifully kept garden areas, bars, coffee machine, animals, and staff. our room was always cleaned by the time we returned from breakfast! The beach is not an easy beach to enjoy, very rocky. I took a free scuba try out class in the pool and my tank ran out of air. not too safe!!!! we went on the discover class the following day and did 3 dives. Will return again sometime soon.

We had an incredible stay at Iberostar Waves Cozumel. My husband, our 2.5-year-old son, and I enjoyed every moment. From arranging a nanny to getting back into scuba diving after almost three years, everything was handled so smoothly.

Babysitting:
We were genuinely impressed with the babysitting crew. Isabella (front desk manager) was like the sweetest auntie to our son—warm, attentive, and always there when we needed help. Alexia (kitchen chief assistant) went above and beyond to entertain him and make sure our picky eater was happy. And Michele was so friendly and caring. They all made us feel completely at ease and added so much comfort to our trip.

Food:
The food was simply amazing. The variety was mind-blowing, everything cooked perfectly, and we loved having the main restaurant plus three specialty restaurants. We never had a meal that wasn’t great.

Room:
Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. It was on the smaller side for a family of three, and the beds could be a bit softer, but overall it met our needs and we slept well.

Diving:
The dive crew was awesome! Each dive master had their own personality, but Veronica was definitely our favorite. She was everything you’d hope for—knowledgeable, confident, charismatic, and so lively and open. She made every dive memorable.

Staff is the big standout for us.
Everybody was helpful.
The Executive Chef managed a great kitchen with delicious choices.
The Property needs a refresh in terms of looking impeccable with EVERYthing working properly.
We will go back to Iberostar again, and we aren't even divers!

We loved this resort so much for so many reasons. The property is gorgeous and clean. The food is great and with lots of variety. We scuba dive and Dressel Divers is on the property with the boat launch on the property as well! Everything is so convenient and relaxing!
