The rooms in a hall were very clean and the staff were very friendly. The food is OK. The grounds outside the building and around the pool are rough limestone. We have been here several times and continually wonder why they leave it like that. It’s very uneven and difficult to walk on.

The beach was far away from the hotel. The walkways were uneven and hard to navigate without blowing out a knee. There are almost no handrails so falling will be a trip to the hospital. The restaurants were good, however breakfast buffet gets a little old after while but to be expected.

We visit Park Royal over spring break every year, and have done so for the last 10 years or so. Every year, they make improvements. Recently, they upgraded both the outdoor and indoor bars. The updates are wonderful.

Special shout-out to our favorite server, Jorge! He is the best! Much love, brother!

You can find better all-inclusive resorts in Cancun, Cabo, etc., but what you can't find in those areas is the world's largest swimming pool. The ocean in Cozumel is the best for swimmers, snorkelers, and divers. And unlike the mainland, there's also never any seaweed. Crystal clear, beautiful water full of coral and marine life. It's a world treasure!

Cozumel is our favorite all-inclusive destination, and Park Royal is our favorite resort on the island. We love it. We will be back next year. Thank you!!!

The property was gorgeous and perfect for me, my parents and my 8 year old son. What we loved most is that the guests were approx. 65% native, 25% American, and 10% European. The staff and customer service was 5 star all the way!

Our experience was a mixed bag, leaning more toward disappointing than impressive. The Italian restaurant was honestly a complete nightmare—so much so that my wife and I walked out and had to debrief what just happened. Definitely not the romantic dinner we had in mind.

The buffets were decent, depending on what you picked. Nothing mind-blowing, but you can find something to enjoy if you choose wisely. Now, the real surprise? The tostada bar right when you walk in—absolute must. Easily five-star quality and probably the highlight of the food scene. Also, the cauliflower soup… I know it sounds questionable, but trust me, it’s incredible.

One thing we really didn’t like was being approached about timeshare sales right as we entered the property. Not exactly the welcome you want when you’re trying to relax. On top of that, the hotel itself felt a bit dated and didn’t quite match the price point they’re asking for.

Overall, a few standout bites, but not enough to justify the cost or the hassle.

The balcony in Room 1012 in Tower 1 looks at 2 LP tanks, a wall, and some brown plants. We had two rooms in Tower 1. Our other room was 1307 and it had a much better view. Do not use the elevator in Tower 1 with more than 4 people. We loaded 6 into the left elevator and the elevator stopped between floors for 20 minutes. Maintenance had to reboot the elevator to bring it back to the ground floor. Breakfast is usually good in the buffet. Eat lunch at El Pescador by the ocean and get the Baja tacos. The Frida Mexican restaurant seems to be closed. The theater is closed and taped off. Snorkeling is great in front of the resort. Our son and daughter loved the Silent Party. This was our 4th time staying at the Grand Park Royal.

Room was clean. The room service was subpar and restrictive, amenities in room were hit or miss and also not in line with most all inclusives. The staff was kind but service at the pool bars was also hit or miss and took a long time. There is one smoking area on the entire property and a 10 minutes walk from all pools, etc. seemed pretty ridiculous not to have more accommodations. I also wouldn't recommend for anyone needing accessibility, the walk ways are uneven and elevators extremely small.

Very good value for our money. Beds are small (doubles are true doubles) but comfortable and fine for a week. Stayed 4 in a double room, 2 older teens and parents. The bathroom situation was a little weird with glass door on the shower and big mirror across from it so we put a towel over the glass door and were sure to warn each other when using the shower or changing. The toilet itself is behind its own door which is good. Spent evenings and mornings on the balcony - all rooms seem to overlook the courtyard and we could see the water and the ships from the balcony. Would not pay more for an upgraded view, but higher floors (5/6) seemed about perfect for views and a little more privacy in on the balcony.

Bring your own snorkels and masks, you can see lots of fish and people of all ages spend their day snorkeling on the beach. Didn't see any for rent but would have missed the best feature of the resort if we didn't bring our own. Activites and entertainment were great - lots of beach volleyball and the staff make it comfortable for everyone to join. Tried all restaurants, seafood place is the best but only open 1-4 pm daily. Some excellent themed nights in the buffet, breakfast was always good. Little coffee shop and blue marlin snack bar were perfect for the rest of the day. Don't miss the evening entertainment - cultural dancing shows most nights and social events such as silent disco, carnival, etc. under the 'big hat' - family friendly and fun for everyone.

This was our fifth time staying at this resort. The hotel is very clean. Our room was beautiful and very clean. The ladies at the coffee shop were excellent. The food was okay for all inclusive. Not great but you can find something to eat. The Mexican restaurant was pretty bad which is odd considering it is in Mexico.
The snack bar and pool bars were great! The shows and dining experience has seriously declined in quality. I don’t think they have enough staff working the buffet dining area. It’s hard to get refills on drinks but it is clear the staff is working very hard.

The shows are honestly pretty bad.

Snorkeling off the resort is excellent. We saw a lot of cool sea creatures.

I highly recommend Elite diving on site both Omar and Rueben are fantastic instructors.

The resort is an excellent vacation experience! Fernanda, the manager, was so professional. The staff members were so friendly and helpful! The place is so clean. The one thing I didn’t like was the snack food bar by the pool and the Italian restaurant. The Mexican restaurant and the buffet were soooo magnifique though. This resort went way above our expectations. Aldo, the pushy share time sales rep, was really cool overall. Pedro set us up with a great tour to Talum, Cobá, and Cenote! Finally Alma is such a sweetheart. I highly recommend this resort and we think, we may return in November of 2026!!!

Disappointed. Food was mediocre. Never hot, usually cold. Poor selection of food in the buffet area. Waiting in lines for an omelet was extremely long., Service was slow or food never came. Lighting in bathroom was very poor, difficult to see anything. Offered great deals on excursion but then told had to go through a 90 minute presentation on a Member Plan to get the deals. Lasted 2.5 hours.... painful high pressures sales. Has a tiny beach and not other beachfront to walk along.

Our first time at Grand Park Royal Cozumel did not disappoint overall.

Cons: The rooms are a tad small. We had 2 adults/2 kids in a double bed room and felt a little cramped.

The gym was not great. Not much for cardio, and the equipment was outdate. Advertised a sauna, but it was not in use.

Pros: The pools were clean. The beach area is not huge but it felt safe, especially for kids, and we were able to snorkel and enjoy the ocean. The wait for drinks at most of the bars was a bit long and annoying at times. The staff was friendly but did not seem too eager to help.

The Kids Club was GREAT! It was clean and the staff was super friendly. My boys, ages 8 and 6, enjoyed many activities in the kids club and we felt safe leaving them in the care of the staff.

The restaurants were a bit disappointing and didn't feel like we had many options, but we took a cab into town two nights during our trip and explored and eat there.

Overall the resort was well-rounded for kids and adults. The entertainment at night was fun. Everyone had a great time and we plan to return.

Everything except the beach was GREAT! Was very disappointed in the beach size. It's really about 200 feet or less of beach front and it faces the cruise ship docks. But, don't let that stop you from staying here. Because the staff was great! The drinks were excellent and the food was good. This is not a 5 star restaraunt type resort. But if you are looking for clean, safe and relaxing. This is a great choice!

Room: Superior Ocean View Double Room was Great. Room Number 2910 is Best in the Hotel on Top Floor with Panoramic Views of Ocean and Majestic Cruise Ships docked at the International Cruise Port.

Tip: Rooms below 5th Floor cannot see the ocean but can see beautiful lush gardens and palms.

Food: Really Good Breakfast, Seafood Restaurant on the beach open 1pm-4pm serves Clams Chowder, Fish of the Day, Giant Grilled Shrimp, Fish or Shrimp Tacos.

Dinner was great with a variety of great tasting foods. Temperatures of food sometimes cold.

Italian Restaurant available by reservation was Not Good. Go into town for Real Italian Food @ GUIDOS Italian Restaurant or Woodys Bar on the Town Square.

Entertainment was very nice and lots of scheduled activities throughout the day.

Con’s:

Swimming Pools not kept clean. Always with leaves and sand. Hot Tub Did Not Work and was dirty, dingy and not maintained. Really Disappointing as Hot Tub was primary draw for staying at the hotel.

Overall a Beautiful Hotel Resort with lots of Palm Trees and Waterfalls.

Hotel was great. Only bright spot of a rough vacation and travel experience.
As others stated food was a bit bland but for an all inclusive I don’t really expect much more. The pools were cold, for time of year I think they could install some heaters to make the pool a bit more enjoyable. Room was clean and updated. Apparently I had VIP which I did not know until last day as no one told us. They only seemed to want to help if you would sit through a sales pitch for 90 minutes, sorry was not wasting 90 minutes of my vacation trying to be sold a time share or rewards points.
I know this sounds like a negative review, but it wasn’t all bad. Bartenders were great and friendly, everyone was great to my kids and very attentive. The guacamole and pizza making by the pool was a fun and the kids loved it. The coffee everywhere was terrible and way too weak.
I said it multiple times during the stay, as busy as it is outside the hotel, while you are on the grounds you feel isolated from all the craziness surround you.
For an all inclusive it is a good place to stay with plenty to do.

Loved our room. Upon entering it for the first time, we were aware of a musty smell. Immediately after reporting this a crew of 2 came and worked on the ac vent area. The smell was eradicated and did not return. We had a wonderful view of the cruise ship port. Including the ocean waves. Our king bed was comfortable. The room was cleaned every day. We didn’t have to ask for clean towels. We did have to run the hot water for at least 15 minutes to get hot water. We loved our balcony area. The fridge had refreshments waiting for us. The room coffee was the small single cup espresso shot type. I would love to have this room again.

For the past twenty years I have use the grand park Royal for my scuba vacations. And always as part of that, I would smoke a cigar and watch the sunset nightly. Sitting on a lounge chair with nobody within 30 feet I lit the cigar. The “pool guard” ran by three women smoking cigarettes and a group vaping to get to me to demand I put it out. I left the area. Feeling I had been selected while others were ignored. Disappointed at the way he spoke and how it was handled

Half the staff was happy we were there as the other half was rude! AC didn’t work, safe broken asked for a replacement, said we would get one in 10 min never came. Buffet was horrible, we will not be going back to this property. I will give them one more shot at the Cancún property as we stayed there the year before and I was great! As far a Cozumel not going to return!

Everything was amazing! Juanita, who was the housekeeping staff was perfect, she was friendly, sweet and worked so hard! We were so thankful for her. We do not have enough kind words to say.
The entire staff at the resort was absolutely amazing! Edgar and Quenan of the Funtastic team became such good friends! Teaching us Spanish, making brackets, trying to make us do Zumba and Volleyball! It was so much fun.
Alfredo and Joy of the food and drink staff were incredible also. We will forever have our memories of these wonderful people and are so glad we spent our vacation with them! We will be coming back!

We paid for upgraded room, got a regular one then finally moved when complained, got stuck in elevator 2 times, alarm did not work. No ammenities in rooms, tv barley worked, water took 10 min to get hot. Staff was very rude, the resort its self was not kept up. Same food everyday. Not worth the upgraded price we paid.

The resort was so well kept. The staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful. The kids especially loved the kids club and the cafe that served different flavours of ice cream everyday. The beach was small but perfect for small kids. Pools were a bit cold but clean and well-maintained. Food was good for us and we were really impressed with the New Years Eve buffet. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff did a great job, we always had everything we needed. A/C worked great as well. Great trip overall and will be back!

I had a very disappointing experience staying at Park Royal.
The food was bland and lacked flavor. The only consistently safe and decent option was fruit. Lines for the all-inclusive restaurants were extremely long. For example, every night at the Italian restaurant there were at least twenty families ahead of us, regardless of what time we arrived, and reservations were not allowed.
The Wi-Fi was unreliable and kept disconnecting.
The beach is located right next to a port with at least five large cruise ships docked at all times. You are essentially swimming next to cruise traffic, which raises obvious concerns about water quality (fuel, waste, etc.).
The room itself was nice—I stayed on the 9th floor with an ocean view—but it had a very strong mold smell. I understand the hotel was fully booked, but after reporting the issue twice, no one ever came to clean or check the AC unit to address the smell.
Service was another major disappointment. Unless you are visibly tipping, service is minimal. Staff seemed to expect extra payment for nearly everything.
Overall, this resort did not meet expectations and I would not recommend it.

The food was not very good. Very limited small buffet for a Hotel with over 1000 rooms.
The beach was also not a nice one. Very rocky. The pools were small n not enough for all the people staying there.
The service was subpar, always having to call the waiters for drinks at the buffet and at the pools and beach.
The room was nice after we changed rooms when arriving. The first room had dead bufs everywhere, even on top of the beds. The shower had no door or curtain. But the second room was good, clean n loved the strong shower.
Overall, I did not like Cozumel. It is old and the beaches are not pretty. We took the ferry to Playa del Carmen n vomited the whole way, the ocean was very rough.
Will not be going back.

Staff was less than helpful, pools were all ice cold, the beach area was extremely smal - don’t be fooled by the pictures. 4 out of 7 days after our room was cleaned we were not given hand towels or wash clothes. Our soap shelf was busted in the shower and the shower gel became empty on day 3. It took 3 days for the to replace the gel dispenser with a new one. They do not take any restaurant reservations and space is extremely limited - some nights we waited until the after 9, ultimately ending up at the buffet. Most food that came out, unless you ordered from the grill directly was cold-room temp at best. Extremely disappointing to say the least.

I’ve stayed at a number of resorts and all-inclusives in this area over the last 20 years or so. This is the worst I’ve seen and not as described in the listing. Though the grounds were nice and my room was typical, everything else was subpar. I will take ownership for booking something so close to the cruise port… But just know it will ruin your view and it makes for snorkeling that is less nice than anywhere else you will go on the island. The pools are dirty and crowded. There’s not enough seating at the beach or the pool or really at all unless you want to be somewhere very undesirable. Staff do not seem happy and definitely will not go out of their way to provide good service. However the worst part is the food. You will wait for over an hour to eat at one of the restaurants. They do not take reservations. One night we were told the wait was 40 minutes and we waited for over two hours. The buffet is disgusting with burnt and stale food choices. Even in the restaurants the food is not edible. We were served a bowl of chips at the Mexican restaurant which were so old and stale we could’ve broken a tooth. Cheese is a congealed mess, pancakes are black, nothing is worth eating. We left the resort for beach clubs and restaurants. We actually ended our trip early and went to stay somewhere much better. Thank you to Expedia for helping us to negotiate an early cancellation without penalty. The resort did honor an early cancellation so I’ll give them that.
