Pros: the location is perfect. Close to the beach and restaurants. Very convenient.
Cons: the AC was super cloud which made the first night impossible to sleep well. Talked to the staff and was told to deal with it since the hotel is old. The second night we turned it off before sleeping and luckily it was not too hot.
The blinds didn’t do a good job blocking the light. It had to split to allow the window AC to be installed. So expect waking up by bright light 5 AM ish

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. The English Bay and number of the best restaurants is definitely in favor. The hotel needs to be renovated at least the carpets cleaned. That condition is unfortunate.

We did not feel we got our money’s worth as the fan in the bathroom did not work and the shower door did not stay closed. Very disappointed in the room over all. Parking should come free with what we paid for the room. We understand it was a weekend but definitely feel it was overpriced for what we got. The staff was helpful and pleasant.

When checking in after a long drive, I asked if there was a restroom in the lobby. The front desk person said no, but I later discovered it right next to the elevators. One of the housekeepers yelled at us from the elevator, accusing us of pressing the button to keep it from going up (we did not touch the button). The room itself was clean and recently renovated, but the thin, single pane windows transmitted almost all of the loud street noise in. The window AC was also very loud. Overall, a very bad stay.

The room was clean and the beds are comfortable. However, you can hear the noise from the street and from your other guests ( neighbors) and there is no vent for the bathroom. The hotel is very convenient for buses to downtown and is a pick up location of some tours and bc connector. Beach is very close. Good view of the ocean.

The staff were welcoming and friendly, allowing us to check in early as we had just arrived after a cruise The hotel was situated very close to English Bay beach which we visited on both days of our stay.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby.
The only negative is the lifts/ elevators. We found them to be erratic and in need of refurbishment.

A bit pricey for a mediocre hotel.room had a broken heater ,constantly running toilet very old .bar downstairs very noisy if you need parking forget it. No bathroom fan .everything in Vancouver is overpriced so whatever. It’s on a very noisy street. Balcony wasn’t clean . Close to beach .

The hotel is in a great location as it is close to restaurants, the beach and Stanley Park.
The rooms are very small but clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very tiny. In regard to fire safety the hotel is very out of date and dangerous. It is not sprinklered, and detection is very old and limited. The room doors do not have the automatic door closing devices required by the Building Code, which are required to stop fire spread. This is a major safety deficiency. I am very hesitant to stay here again, as a result.

Fantastic location!!! In my opinion, there isn’t a better location in Vancouver proper. It isn’t near a sky train station but the bus stop is literally right in front of the hotel, you’re right around the corner from English Bay, and Stanley Park is one block away. The hotel looks a little run down on the outside and in the lobby but the rooms are very nicely renovated and very clean. The attached pub had great happy hour specials and the food was good.

The pictures of the hotel are quite misleading, it gives the impression that it is on the beach, but in fact it is a short walk, the view is mainly obstructed by a large colourful high-rise building. If you want a peaceful night's sleep you'll need industrial strength ear plugs as you are on the main road and you'll hear people shouting and cars blowing their horns regularly. The staff in the hotel were ok, the area for breakfast was a sports bar, so if you wanted a quiet breakfast you'll have no chance as your senses will be assaulted from every angle, plus side it's ok for the evening (Red Umbrella up the road a much better option). If you want a place close to the nightlife this place will suit you.

Location is excellent for walking to the beach and Stanley Park, it’s even a fairly easy walk to the IMAX theatre. Parking is tricky as entrance to parking is at the back of the building not on street front and spots are narrow. We used the restaurant for a dinner, food and service were great but it is a sports bar and it was extremely noisy (we were 2 adults but certainly too loud to have children or older adults as you couldn’t carry on a conversation). Room was clean and had a fridge and microwave which was nice to have when staying a few nights. Though space in room was tight. Our room opened to the busy Davie street and had a balcony so fun to watch the passing traffic but noisy and it also got direct sunlight in the daytime and thus the room heated up like an oven. Air conditioning worked but blows right onto a bed. Over all we enjoyed the location and would rate the facility as “average”.

Newly renovated room. Bathroom extremely clean. Bed really comfortable. Front desk staff was always super friendly. Very close to all the main tourist attractions and public transportation.
Only downside is tv was really old and didn't get a lot of channels.

Excellent location, near everything in the area. Room was a little small, AC was loud, outside noise kept us up. The elevator was outdated and one of them was out for our entire stay. Staff was wonderful and room was clean. I would be on the fence to stay there again.

The portions were quite large and personnaly would have liked to see more lighter/smaller options.We enjoyed our stay and the location was great.

We were greeted right when we walked in the door asking about our stay where we were directed to the front desk for a quick check in. The amazing bell bow even wne t to the top level parking lot to get our bags while I checked in!
Once we were up in the room we had a beautiful view of the ocean and a clean room to spend our first time in Canada!
The breakfast that is included if you choose in your stay is incredible!! We were so happy to see that it was a full restaurant instead of just a basic breakfast bar. It filled us up before a full day of adventure to Stanley Park that is just conveniently located just 30 min from the hotel. It was also very nice that it was placed along the boardwalk considering we had dogs with us we could all go over and allow them to go to the bathroom very easily from there. There was so much to do on the street that we were on as well. There was nightlife restaurants and all sorts of goodies if you are looking for gelato and late night eat. Overall I was absolutely pleased with the hotel we will be staying again.

Our room had minimal bay views. Our room was facing the street, which was quiet loud. It also did not help that we were on the second floor. Staff was friendly, and helpful, When we checked in there was no light in the bathroom. Once we notified the staff, the problem was resolved; problem being, the breaker. Another guest blew a breaker in their room, which affected our bathroom.
The room and the bathroom, was clean.
Overall the stay was good, I would stay there again.

What they don't tell you about the partial ocean view in the king-size balcony room is that you have to go out onto the balcony and turn to the right to see the partial ocean view you can't see it from your window
The balcony was covered with pigeon poop so I couldn't even sit out there. The part of the air-conditioning/heating unit that was outside on the balcony was also covered in pigeon poop and I didn't dare use it for fear that the air coming in would be contaminated.

had a very concerning experience staying here and would not recommend this property.

Our room had a strong musty smell and there was visible mold present. The building overall felt rundown and poorly maintained. The smell on the top floor was particularly bad.

Early the next morning around 6 AM, construction started in the room next door. Staff had opened multiple doors throughout the hallway and outside, and the odor coming through the floor was overwhelming. The smell was so strong that I could barely breathe upstairs. I admit I’m somewhat sensitive to these types of smells, but the air quality was extremely poor.

Because of this, we checked out early. I raised the issue directly with the front desk, but the response was very dismissive and no effort was made to resolve the situation.

After leaving, I contacted the hotel and was told the issue would be escalated. I received one email and then no follow up at all. It has now been over a month and I still have not received a response regarding the refund I requested.

Unfortunately, we both became sick after the stay and I ended up going to the hospital the next day with symptoms consistent with mold exposure. The symptoms lasted for weeks.

Between the visible mold, construction noise at 7 AM of what I assumed was an extremely exposed moulded room next-door, extremely poor air quality, and the complete lack of follow up from management, this was a very disappointing experience.

We were on the street side and we both struggled to fall asleep due to sirens and people on street. Prob to be expected. Older hotel so presumably windows could be better for noise. We were travelling with our small dog, and for us the stay was perfect. We were in a one bedroom unit with kitchen. The room was clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The location was ideal - close to the beach and shops.
