The room was as expected but faced onto a building site including scaffolding that didn't feel particularly safe. The room was not cleaned during my stay despite the room materials saying it would be. The bathroom had a bad odor in general and there was little support or welcome from staff. While I expected the room to be basic given the price, service overall was really quite poor.

Actual review - Solid choice!

The area is perfect, Stockholm is actually gorgeous! Literally dozens if not hundreds of shops, restaraunts and cafes within a 10-20 minute walk, and the city is very walkable as you might expect. There are also a bunch of museums and historical locations, as well as all the major goverment buildings, like the Riksdag, in the area. Hotel was very nice, located across from a park and the national library. Lundry has to be dropped off by 0900 for same day service. There is also a small gym in the basement.
9/10 would definitely stay again!

There is no AC. Only a square box that says contact reception if you want to change the temperature. Unfortunately, you only can increase the temperature with more heat. It's impossible to cool the room. When I found that out, I knew why there was a fan in the room. It was like a steam bath in my room. I could not open the window when I tried to sleep because of loud music by a local outside bard. Finally, they changed my room to one away from the noise and upgraded but there was no AC there either. I will never pay this kind to money to stay in a fancy expensive hotel with rooms too warm to sleep in.

Excellent stay and location

The location was very central. It was 20 minutes walking distance from Central Station. I was able to get where I wanted to go within 15 minutes. Room was clean. Staff was lovely and offered luggage storage in a locked room. It was seamless check-in and check-out. I did not participate but in the evenings, the lobby / bar area was buzzing although not packed quiet. Highly recommend!

The hotel is very nice. The decor looks great, the staff is very friendly, and their breakfast is extensive and very good. I have no complaints with the hotel itself, but I took a star off because it is directly across from a club. We had to sleep with earplugs every night because of the noise from the club, especially all the people milling outside and speaking loudly into the early hours of the morning. It didn't quiet down until 5am so it was hard to get decent sleep. Our room was facing the club so I don't know if it's quieter on a side that is not facing the street.

The hotel itself is perfectly situated within a lot of things to do right on the doorstep. The interior in the bar and restaurant area are nice but the room we had felt very dated. Dark and with little light. Nice big windows overlooking a street which was letting in lots of light during the day but as soon as the sun set I found it difficult to get the room lit.
Another thing is that they're asking if you'd like to have the room cleaned which I said yes to, but that didn't happen which was a bit disappointing. Breakfast was not on par with the best of the Scandic hotels but okay.

Really good breakfast buffet, get there early before the crowd. Saturday night rockin DJ till 1am, bartenders & security guards great.
\"Quiet Lounge\" in basement with two chaise lounges and large work table in lobby gave extra room to work. Will definitely stay again.

Brian at the reception desk was very professional and efficient at his job. I had an issue with the room on the first checked in. He went above and beyond to make everything work out well.

An easy walk to the harbour and Gamla Stan (old town).
The room was a good size and clean, however, there was no fridge and no tea and coffee making facilities. These had to be purchased in the reception area.

The hotel is absolutely top tier but…quite overpriced.
Spending upwards of 1600kr a night on a room with no windows and no regular cleaning seems a touch steep.
Many hotels seem to have done away with daily cleaning of rooms, but still charge premium prices which is exploitative to their customer base.

That said, there were positives. The staff are amazing, breakfast is good and location is unmatched.

The hotel was perfect for our family of four including two teenage girls. The hotel gave us two linked rooms as we requested, which were separated by a door that could be closed if necessary. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. The hotel was located in a relatively quiet area but with plenty of restaurants and shops just around the corner. Would highly recommend Scandic Anglais and will stay again ourselves.

Täcket var väldigt tunt och rummet kallt, sov med tjocktröja och varma strumpor men var ändå tvungen att gå upp mitt i natten och ta en dusch för att hålla mig varm. Fanns inga filtar eller extra täcken i rummet. Täcket och kuddarna luktade mycket damm, skulle gissa att de inte har blivit tvättade på länge. Personalen var trevlig vid in och utcheckning.

Hamnade i ett väldigt litet rum nere i källaren, ett av de minsta och tråkigaste hotelellrum jag bott i och absolut inget man förväntar sig av ett 4-stjärnigt hotell för nästan 1500kr/natten! Påminde mer som ett rum man finner i en billig hytt på en finlandsfärja. I det minimaliatiska badrummet var det iskallt på golvet (en källare med klinker och utan golvvärme). Blev dessutom väckt flera gånger av höga oljud från omgivande rum/lokaler. Fanna ens inget nattduksbord eller plats för mobilen i närheten av sängen. Väldigt besviken!

A bit of a disappointment that the bar was closed. Having to go for a walk in a freezing Stockholm when we wanted a little nightcap was not really enjoyable.

Kasst rum, vi hade en fläkt som lät & smällde hela natten. Påpekades med ett tack av personalen vid utcheckningen- trist när man betalat dyrt.
Lyhört hotell generellt. Skrapande stolar osv. Musik från baren sent trots att du bor högt upp. Rummen har inga heltäckningsmattor så gör att allt låter mer.
Frukosten var sådär, inte lika bra som andra Scandic.
