One star off as the one evening we planned to eat at the restaurant it was closed for a private function and breakfast was free but buffet layout was poor (long queue for single coffee machine and toaster). Would recommend hotel location also as it is between large mall and Old Town

I am blown away by this amazing hotel - the location, rooms, staff! I am surprised this is rated as a 3 star hotel - it has all the beautiful qualities of a superior hotel.
We had to leave at 4 am and restaurants staff allowed us to pack our own breakfast to go and it meant the world. Not only that, they also offered juice and water as we were leaving (as part of our breakfast to go). I really appreciate your kindness and helpfulness and can’t wait to be back!

Hotel is perfectly situated directly across from the shopping mall, train station and bus station and a short walk to the old town.

Gracious, classy, well maintained, and kudos to the chef. I liked it well enough to extend my stay two extra days. Bonus--It is close to everything. Some reviewers have mentioned the noise from the trolleys. It is true they are a constant, but they feel like the steady heartbeat of the city. They are not shrill or startling. If you are on a higher floor, they are just background sound.

This is our second stay at Hotel Polonia. First time 9 years ago. We had a corner (super) room... Bed and pillows were good. Walking distance to Stare Rynek. We parked our car for 2 days and either walked or Ubered. The breakfast buffet is the same now as it was on our first visit. It was ok but could use a bit of a change.

First room was next to tram lines and trams thundered by every minute. Tram frequency slowed down over night but didn't stop. First night no sleep. Polonia changed my room to a quieter room for rest of stay. Decor of second room not as nice but room was quiet. Grateful staff were able to accommodate. Staff very frienhly. Restaurant was excellent. Location excellent--near rail station and Old Town Square.

Improvement suggestion would be for the reception staff to be more warm & welcoming rather than ‘stone face’ especially the staff when we checked out! Kinda let down to the whole experience of this hotel. So I hope the management will take heed & make all the effort and corrective measures especially when you are in hospitality environment. We are paying guests NOT just simply your visitors - this goes to the front reception staffs when we checked out on Monday, 04th Dec. If you feel our money not worth your hospitality service in return then please reconsider what makes your hotel better than others especially in delivering ‘stone face’ front desk staff.

For the price its amazing. Great location, great breakfast. The rooms are comfortable but a little dated. But its homie and relaxing. I am usually enjoy modern trendy hotels, but this place is and exception. It feels like Krakow, and thats a wonderful thing.

Clean room but most days the rubbish wasn’t taken out. The shower door was broken. The breakfast was poor and some of the food had gone off. The windows weren’t insulated so you hear all the noise from outside. The pillows were extremely large took up a large portion of the bed. The artwork on the wall wasn’t hung properly so it rattled every time the tram went past outside. I don’t recommend this place to stay it hasn’t been updated since the 1930s and the staff aren’t interested in anything but your money.

Ideally located close to train station and on the edge of the Old Town. Tram noise was noticible, but quickly became a soothing background sound. Breakfast was very good, although breakfast room was busy at times. Bed comfy, room clean, bathroom modern. Tea,coffee making facities in room much appreciated. Staff very friendly.

I stayed for just one night during a journey from Ukraine to UK via Krakow. This was perfect for my needs. A fantastic location so easy to find on foot from the railway/bus station but also very convenient for the Galeria Krakowska and just a short walk from the charming Old Town. The Polonia was built (or rebuilt) in 1917 and the tall, panelled room doors still bear the original 'Jugendstil' brass numbers. This is a taste of old Europe; immaculate crested linen, formal corridors and old tiled stoves still in place. Despite its busy central location just 100m from the rail station and on the main tram routes, my second floor room was quiet with no traffic or street noise, space was generous and service punctilious.
Just across the street is the Planty Park and the Old City; everything within easy walking distance. Overall, an excellent experience.

Excellent Location, Pleasant Staff, But Could Use Some Cosmetic Updates
The hotel's primary asset is location - it is right next to the main train station and a major mall, plus it is right on the outskirts of Planty, the park that outlines the edge of the Old Town. Getting to the center of Old Town takes approximately 5 minutes. The hotel is close to many tram lines and other major transportation hubs, yet I found that the nighttime noise level was completely reasonable. Rooms are large, with high ceilings. Furnishings, however, are a bit outdated. The bed was also somewhat uncomfortable, since King beds are not typical in Poland and it was essentially two double beds pushed up together, which came apart easily. The historic building has great bones, though, and some cosmetic updates to this hotel would make it stellar. Large hallways, grand staircase. Breakfast is fairly basic. Computer with internet access is available in the lobby. All in all, depending on the seasonal price variations, I would definitely stay here again on account of its excellent location and perfectly decent accommodations. This hotel has the potential to be a real beauty if they spruce it up!
