Absolutely magical place!
Absolutely charming place! Owners are super friendly. Ultra clean room (even bathroom was spotless), striking décor in the room and corridors, beautiful garden full of vibrant plants. Absolutely magical place!

Would definitely stay again 10/10 recommend this to others - as it's within 3 minutes' walk of at least 3 different bus routes.

If the 14 days we traveled, this was our favorite place to stay. They let us check in early. We were given great explanations of the bus system and how to get around town. Also excellent dining recommendations. Breakfast was exceptional and varied. Our bed was comfortable and supportive. Everything was clean and beautifully kept. The garden is magnificent. Tom and Rowena the hosts are lovely people who really care about service . Highly recommend this for travelers. There are many stairs so if you have mobility issues, it will be challenging, but worth it.

We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts, given helpful information when requested, taken to our room which was perfect, enjoyed a good nights sleep followed by a lovely breakfast. We couldn’t have asked for more.

A very enjoyable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for our friendly hosts Tom and Rowena who were able to advise us on the best places to visit and eat etc. We had everything we needed in our clean and comfortable room Breakfasts were great and our veggie diet was catered for handsomely. The property is on a frequent bus route into the city with a bus stop conveniently just over the road. We will definitely stay again if we return to Edinburgh.

What a lovely place to stay. The owners are amazing! My room was on the second floor in the front of the home and was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. The owners will assist with transportation option, recommendations for places to do and see, and are interesting to talk to. I highly recommend staying here.

This is a lovely home away from home. The amenities in the room are top notch no lie! It is less than 2 miles to Waverly Station and is easily accessible by bus #7, #11, and #14 where bus stops are literally a few steps from the residence. Botanical Garden is a walking distance and Leith is just a hop away. Breakfast is made to order daily where Rowena does her magic in the kitchen. Breads, cookies, and Jams are homemade and are divine!

My sister and I stayed for two nights at Sheridan Guest House and the whole experience was a delight. Tom and Rowena are excellent hosts. The food was the best out of the three B&Bs we stayed in on our recent trip to Scotland. The cleanliness was outstanding. The bathroom in both of our rooms were very small and my room was really only good for one person, but this is a two hundred year old terrace home. It’s a little off the beaten track and is most definately a 10/15 minute bus ride to the centre of the old city of Edinburgh. There is really nothing in the neighbourhood you have to walk 20/30 minutes or take a bus to do anything. But it’s really very nice.

As bed and breakfasts go, you can't ask for much better than Sheridan Guest House. Tom and Rowena are wonderful hosts, there is easy public transport access to city center and the biggest unsung treasure is if you like leisurely walks. The Guest House is located steps away from the Water of Leith trail which is scenic and takes you by foot to numerous sites of interest throughout Edinburgh. I had a delightful stay and would jump at the opportunity to go back.

This hotel is amazing. The staff are super friendly and helpful. the room was small but very comfortable, they always had fresh water, and even cookies and lindt chocolates! The shower was amazing as well, had all the shampoo and soap you could want! The location is a bit far from.the city but very easy to hop on a city bus. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone!

Just finished a lovely 2 night stay at the Sheridan Guest House in Edinburgh. Warm, attentive hosts, yummy breakfast, comfortable room and everything was immaculately clean! Beautiful garden in the front and back. Convenient to downtown Edinburgh sights and the train station by a short ride on the #11 bus. Or ride in the other direction on the # 11 (or walk the Leith path) and enjoy the Leith harbor scene and the Britannia ship. Great place to stay in Edinburgh without paying the high in-town rate.

The Sheridan guest house was excellent, about 15 minutes by bus from Edinburgh town centre. Rowena and Tom were wonderful hosts they couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. The house itself was lovely as was the garden. It was spotlessly clean and well looked after. Homemade jams and marmalades and fresh baked biscuits in the rooms. We would recommend the Sheridan to everyone and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Location approx half way between Edinburgh city and Leith on 11 bus which stops right outside. Walking path behind facility - we leisurely walked into Leith harbor area for dinner - about 15 mins. Did not walk into city but understand walk is about 40 mins. Took city tours starting in city and last day after visiting Royal Britannia yacht and having dinner in Leith instead of returning to city took 11 bus from Ocean Terminal back to Sheridon B&B. Wish we could have stayed longer. AMAZING TRIP. Thank you Rowena and Tom.

Lovely guesthouse about a 20 minute walk to old town with frequent bus service just outside the door. Tom and Rowena could not have been more friendly and welcoming hosts. A lady called Rowena and her partner run the Sheridan Guest House and they are delightful - very friendly and welcoming. Although the Sheridan is in Edinburgh it is actually much closer (walking distance) to Leith. The room we had was on the third floor and was very clean and usable however very tiny and watch your head on the dormers. The Number 11 bus to Prices Street was just outside the front door and ran about every 10 to 15 minutes. Taxi from the train station cost about 8 pounds. There was a nice pedestrian walk to Leith but Edinburgh itself was best done by bus. There was one restaurant nearby (the Victoria hotel or something like that) but otherwise you walked to Leith.

This guest house was amazing, from the moment we arrived Rowena made us feel like family, she couldn't have done any more to make our stay better. The rooms were really clean & comfortable, location was quiet but had two pubs within close walking distance. Breakfast was great & Rowena was happy to help with location information to make our sightseeing enjoyable. Loved everything about this place!

My husband and I stayed at Sheridan Guest House in April and had a wonderful stay there.
If you are looking for a “modern” place to stay with a big room/bathroom located in the center of Edinburgh, then this place is not for you. But if you are looking for a beautiful, quaint, super clean, comfortable, away from the busy area guest house where home baked cookies are left in your room every single day, then this is the place for you.
Fresh flowers throughout the house, Egyptian cotton linens, beautiful art works are some of the attention-to-detail things you will see there.
But the best part was being greeted by Rowena and her smile every morning as she served us her amazing breakfast. She is so sweet and funny. Everything we had (Scottish breakfast, apple cinnamon porridge, smoked salmon with eggs, pancakes) was sooooooooo delicious. We still talk about her pancakes….. The charming dining room made us feel like we were eating at a fancy 5 star restaurant
We love walking so we took advantage of the walking path which starts from the end of Bonnington Grove and walked to the center of Edinburgh every day. If you are not into walking, the bus line #11 is right across the street and will take you to the city center in less than 10 minutes.

A wee gem of a guest house. Lovely hostess and great value for money. Just back from weekend here, parked car right outside on Friday night and never touched it again until leaving Edinburgh on Sunday evening. The shower was superb for pressure, and the toilet limited for space but not an inconvenience at all. Decor is good and house is very clean, with a lovely breakfast room and lovely and filling breakfast each morning (the homemade pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were a treat). Off main buzz of Edinburgh but short distance on 11 bus from right outside.

As I've never stayed in a B&B before, I was slightly hesitant to book one for our stay in Edinburgh. Having seen fantastic reviews about the Sheridan B&B, I thought I'd give it a go.
The Sheridan is by far, better than any hotel I've stayed at. The room was spacious, clean and really well presented/decorated. The breakfast was all freshly made and tasted really good.
The owner, Rowena, was extremely friendly and helpful and it made our stay one to remember. We definitely want to visit Edinburgh again and will definitely stay here again!

Very nice guest house - highly recommended
This place was a joy to stay in! The owners are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The location was good; not too far out and conveniently on the bus line. Breakfasts were outstanding! Room was comfortable. Bathroom was small and noisy (fan and flushing) but workable and lots of amenities were supplied. Overall, Sheridan House was great!

Great B & B that gives a real Scottish experience.
We were met by Tom and Rowena the afternoon we were due to check in. They immediately made us feel at home in theirs. The breakfasts were hot and flavorful with plenty to eat. They prepared lunches for us when we missed the morning meal when we traveled. The room was extra clean and maintained daily. Taxi's, buses and other transportation is easily accessed from the house. All reasonable requests are met, (I asked for and received extra pillows), taxi's were arranged by Tom the night before we needed them. A truly wonderful couple who will go the extra mile to ensure your stay is pleasant.

Loved my stay of a few days. Rowena's so nice & courteous. The place is spotless, with attention to detail everywhere. My double room was perfect except for the compact en-suite bathroom which was too compact! Anyway I managed ok, and was very happy overall with the standard of this b&b.

The Sheridan was beautiful and clean. Everything was high quality and Rowena was friendly, funny, and gave wonderful recommendations and directions. It is the perfect location: I could walk anywhere I wanted in Leith or I could walk into Edinburgh if I wanted. I felt safe and secure during the entirety of my stay. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and fresh! I cannot wait to go back again. I definitely recommend that you stay here! You won't find a better place!

Easy bus ride to sights
The hosts at the Sheridan Guest House made every effort to make our stay in Edinburgh a pleasant one. The bus stop was just across the street which made travel cheap and easy. (The buses in Edinburgh were frequent and on time, too!) Breakfast at the Sheridan Guest House was excellent and the dining room was beautiful. Service was equal to a fine restaurant. If I return to Edinburgh, I will certainly want to stay here again.
