Quirky hotel. Rooms very comfortably and homely. Right next to arena which is very handy if you are going to the concert, but can be a little annoying if you are not. There was a dance party on a Saturday night and the deep bass thump thump was coming through the room… I would guess this didnt happen often and no fault of the hotel

Woodshed with a modern touch

Arrived late caused by traffic on Autobahn. However this hotel is very special and unique from other hotels we usually visit. The hotels exterior is covered in wood. Super modern look and has a natural appeal to it. But the structure itself is made of concrete so idk how Eco-friendly the whole matter is. + for friendly staff, warm room and really clean and tidy. Since I come from the Nordic I can only refer to a Sauna in total, with all birch wood, wood essence & temperature.
Cool experience, but slightly overpriced I would say.

This was a very enjoyable stay, all the staff were first class. It was so good to find that talking in English was no problem. The only criticism was that he shower had no limit on the heat so one has to be very careful in its use.the hotel was super clean.

A funky, but pleasant hotel

The building is striking: wood clad outside and (mostly) inside, with a commitment to sustainability showing in various details. It is located in Hamburg's green belt is pleasant, with fast and easy access to the city by train, but the local area is not so interesting. Half of the rooms face the railroad line to Hamburg, which can be noisy. But the other half, including the room where we stayed, are quiet.

We had 3 nights here while visiting Hamburg on holiday. Location was convenient to the S-Bahn, with a train every 10 minutes to/from the Hbf, so we could get anywhere quickly. Staff were helpful. The restaurant & bar was lively - we had a drink at the bar, but didn’t try the restaurant though patrons were enjoying themselves.
The room was clean, with nice timber fit out. However, it didn’t have any tea/coffee facilities in the room. We were able to get a cup of hot water from the bar.
Make sure to use the “do not disturb” sign since housekeeping arrives quite early.

Great hotel and exhibit. Poor wifi.

The hotel is lovely. Beautiful rooms with the woodland theme. Interesting woodland exhibition in the hotel and a truly different selection of books on sale in the lobby. The wifi is a pain. At least when used with an iPhone. I kept having to find a new webpage to open to force a reacceptance of the T's & C's. I'm retired now, but for a business traveller this MUST be improved.

Nice bike ride to Hamburg

Not much going on in the neighbourhood but our plan revolved around staying here and cycling into Hamburg on Stadt bikes (located 2 mins from the hotel). Worked out perfectly. Great ride to Hafen city and miniatur wonderland. Nice eco hotel.

Very helpful and very convenient

I booked this hotel simply because it was close to an event venue but we really fell on our feet. The staff were exceptionally helpful, the restaurant was excellent and the price was good. My only criticism was that the rooms were a bit too warm for me but that's not a big deal. Would definitely stay here again.

A two night stay for work, with too little time in the hotel. Great room with a tree in the corner. masses of space and double aspect room. Fantastic dinner. Unfortunately had to leave to early each day (0400) to sample breakfast.

Hotel in new Eco park development

We stayed there for three days as part of our holiday in Hamburg. The hotel is situated in a new (2013) Eco development and is itself run along Eco lines. It is an interesting departure from the usual hotel and the staff were exemplary. The hotel is a short train journey into Hamburg and the service is frequent.
The room was large and well appointed.
The reception staff were friendly and informative.
The restaurant provided a good quality of continental breakfast. We tried their evening fare on one occasion and it was tasty and very well presented. The restaurant manager, Katerina, was extremely friendly and no request was too much for her.

Stay was ok, difficult for cars to get to, very unpleasant on your own to have to walk late at night in the dark in such isolation. Disappointing to only have something to drink late at night. Bread was stale at breakfast, and fruit looked dried out. Room was comfortable and not too warm.

Very comfortable and clean eco-friendly hotel with very friendly staff. Nice restaurant. Surrounding area is a bit quiet but hotel is only 5 mins from the local train station for links to Hamburg and beyond.

Don't come hungry....

Lovely hotel, close to public transportation which takes you within minutes to DT Hamburg...BUT....restaurant was closed the 2 nights we were there...due to private function! So....after just having arrived from a 12 hour trip from Canada we now had to stumble through the night in an unknown city/neighborhood trying to find something to eat! Unacceptable..part of the restaurant MUST stay open for hotel guests...

Quiet burb

Located several stops from the Altstadt/Hauptbahnhof, it was the perfect location for us. Extremely quiet at night and very friendly service. The only thing that would have made it perfect is if it would have had it's own parking facility. There is a Parkhaus next to the hotel, but that's public and there is not direct access to the hotel, which made for some inconvenience with a lot of luggage. In the middle of an area designed with alternative environmentally-friendly building options, it's also a great reminder of what we have and what we need.

The hotel has its absolute positive points, because it is about our natural environment, and how to understand and protect. It has a science exhibition within its walls, and proposes a sustainable way of living throughout. The restaurant was very good, and the location is perfectly accessible by city train (8 min to main station). The shower indeed leaked underneath the glass door as others pointed out, and the shower head didn't stick strait, so that taking a shower wasn't such a great experience. On the other hand, the room design and furniture was very good as was the room climate. Still, we were sad to leave, especially since the people at the counter were outstandingly friendly and helpful.

Das Comfort Zimmer war wirklich außerordentlich großzügig. Schön eingerichtet und hast einen tollen Eindruck gemacht. Dafür war das Bad winzig. Aber alles gut, alles sauber. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Wir haben uns im Hotel sehr wohl gefühlt - allerdings gibt es zwei Kritikpunkte:

* Teppichboden ist grundsätzlich im Hotel unhygienisch und passt grade im Wälderhaus nicht ganz zum Konzept.

* Dicke Bettdecken machten die ohnehin schon fast tropische Nacht zum Saunaerlebnis. Eine Sommerdecke im August wäre als Alternative sehr schön gewesen!

Aber sonst war es wirklich klasse!

Ich habe mich für dieses Hotel entschieden aufgrund seiner Location neben der Inselpark Arena. Das Zimmer war groß, sauber und gemütlich. Das Personal war an allen Stellen sehr zuvorkommend.
Leider hat das Hotel keinen eigenen Parkplatz.

Das Hotel haben wir ausgesucht, da das Turnier an dem wir teilgenommen haben direkt nebenan war.

Wir waren 6 Leute auf 3 Zimmer verteilt. Von den 6 Personen konnten 4 Personen fast nicht am Turnier teilnehmen, weil Sie durch die unkomfortablen Betten (aber auch Stühlen Frühstück und Couch im Foyer) Rücken-, Nacken- oder Schulterschmerzen hatten. Dieses Hotel kann leider keinen Komfort.

Des Weiteren sind wir davon ausgegangen, dass wenn man bei Expedia angibt, dass man das Frühstück mit bucht dieses auch im Preis dann bereits enthalten ist. Dies ist leider nicht der Fall. Bei drei Übernachtungen mussten wir nochmal 111,- € nachzahlen für das Frühstuck.

Leider müssen wir sagen, obwohl die Zimmer schön groß sind und alles sauber war, dass diese Unterkunft nicht gut ist.

Speiseauswahl sehr übersichtlich, viel vegan.

Intet ophold - det lykkedes ikke at tjekke ind?!

Vi tjekkede aldrig ind for receptionisten kunne umiddelbart ikke finde ud af det. Det var omkring midnat og af en eller anden grund var der intet der kunne lykkes. Virkelig underligt. Det virkede som om det var svært at finde vores reservation, derfor spurgte vi om det var muligt at få en nøgle, så vi kunne sove (det var et stop på vej på skiferie) og så kunne vi afregne om morgenen, men det var heller ikke muligt, så da intet skete gik vi igen efter 30 min og har aldrig sovet der. Vi aner ikke hvad der gik galt og hvorfor intet var muligt.

It is very difficult to find the hotel, especially in the night: there are no direction signs from the main street.
Parking is 15€, which for me it is expensive given the location. staff member at the reception couldn´t speak english, which made it a nightmare to get the direction to the hotel

Skønt hotel med fedt koncept

Hotellet er meget behageligt og lækkert indrettet, personalet yderst imødekommende og venligt. Trods corona fik vi dejlig morgenmad, og konceptet er rigtig godt.
Da hotellet kalder på gæster der kan lide bæredygtighed, kunne det dog godt have en ladestander mere til elbiler. ;-)

Ich war zum zweiten Mal in diesem Hotel. Das Zimmer war so hellhörig, dass ich den Zimmernachbar schnarchen gehört hsbe. Ich habe anstsndslos ein anderes Zimmer bekommen am 2. Tag. Die Zimmer sind Standard. Umweltgedanke ust gut, aber wenn man 3x soviel Seife benötigt, weil diese nicht schäumt, ist der Umweltgedanke dahin. Das Frühstück war soweit ok, allerdings Fertig-Ei - das geht gar nicht! Außerdem hat immer wieder etwas gefehlt, entweder Speisen oder sehr oft Tassen. Das Personal war nicht sehr freundlich.

Het is een mooi en 'warm' hotel. Je komt binnen en je kan meteen genieten van de heerlijke houtgeur die er heerst.
De kamers zijn zeer verzorgd en netjes.

Die Zimmer sind absolut ruhig, in dem Haus herrscht ein hervorragendes baubiologisches Klima. Schlafen ist trotz Veranstaltungen am nahegelegenen Sportzentrum problemlos möglich, da absolut nichts zu hören ist. Die Betten sind bequem, die Zimmer ausreichend groß. Das Badezimmer ist in Miniaturausführung. Für zwei Personen gleichzeitig nur denkbar, wenn einer in der Dusche steht. Die Fugen im Bad sehen nicht mehr schön aus, da könnte daran gearbeitet werden.
Die allgemein zur Verfügung stehenden Sanitäranalagen im Rezeptionsbereich sind leider nicht mehr so schön.
Im Haus herrscht eine traumhafte Ruhe - es ist wunderschön gestaltet. Den Charakter des Hauses muss man verstehen - wir fühlen uns dort sehr wohl.
Was mich sehr gestört hat, ist die Unfreundlichkeit einzelner Mitarbeiter im Gastrobereich des Hauses. Auf nett formulierte Bitten und Fragen wird von einem Mitarbeiter beim Frühstück nur sehr unfreundlich geantwortet und man wird stehen gelassen. Meine Verwunderung war Das hatten wir aus den vorherigen Aufenthalten anders in Erinnerung. Der gleiche Mitarbeiter behandelte uns entsprechend abweisend, als wir am Abend noch etwas trinken wollten.

Nachhaltiger Ansatz mit sehrguter Energiebilanz.
Gut sortiertes Frühstücksbuffet.
Wenn es sehr heiß ist, so wie an den zwei Tagen an denen wir dort übernachteten, ist die Raumtemperatur leider nicht absenkbar, da keine aktive Kühlung möglich. Ansonsten nettes Personal und ein ansprechendes Hotel.

Trevligt hotell, känns nytt och fräscht. Ett tydligt miljötänk i hygienartiklar och restaurangens utbud, och ett science center med fokus på skogen i samma byggnad. Alla rum har namn efter olika träd med lite information om dessa på rummen. Bra läge om man bara ska stanna till över natten på vägen.

Good and clean hotel.

Nice modern hotel. If you expect a luxurious traditional hotel don't book it. Environment is 'key' in this hotel. All decoration is with real wood and natural material, the soap is natural friendly, the food is also healthy (good quality). Employees are proud to work for this eco friendly hotel and are very helpful and supporting. Area is green and a running course is in front of the hotel. You need a car to go to the center of Hamburg.

Ett bra och prisvärt alternativ när man ska besöka Hamburg eller som vi mässa i Hannover och det är fullt och dyrt i närområdet. Enkel access till väg 1 och 7 som snabbt tar en söderut. Enkelt att parkera om än det bara gick och betala med kontanter.

Godt hotel med en lidt special beliggenhed.

Et rigtig godt hotel, dog med en belliggenhed der er lidt “outsider” agtigt. Ligger i en bydel som minder lidt om Ørestaden i DK.. Vi brugte hoteller som en overnatning på vej til Amsterdam, så på den måde var det rigtig fint. Ville ikke anvende det som “base” for en Hamborgtur, dertil ligger det for vores vedkommende for langt fra centrum (ca 6 km)
Kvaliteten på hotellet er i top, hvor loft og vægge på værelserne er udført med Douglas Gran (træ) morgenmad og maden i hotellets restaurant er rigtig godt. Parkering er også super, P-hus samt udendørs parkering, er i forbindelse med hotellet (12 euro pr nat)

Die Lage ist toll, der Park, die Nähe zur S-Bahn. Alle Mitarbeiter sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ein wunderschönes Hotel mit tollem Frühstück. Ich würde jeder Zeit hier wieder buchen, nur nicht im Sommer. Im Zimmer war es unzumutbar heiß, wir haben einen Ventilator bekommen, aber eigentlich nicht ausreichend. Wäre schön wenn man sich da was einfallen lässt.

Toller Aufenthalt

Ich war jetzt schon zum 2. Mal in diesem Hotel und auch beim 2. Mal sehr zufrieden. Auch wenn das Hotel ein wenig ausserhalb vom Zentrum von HH ist, man ist mit der S-Bahn in kürzester Zeit im Zentrum und bei allen Wichtigen Punkten in der Stat.

Tolles Hotel

Hatten 3 Übernachtungen . Wirklich tolles Hotel. Nur 5 Minuten bis zur S-Bahn. Service an der Rezeption und im Restaurant sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Absolut ruhig und schön gelegen. Parkplatz ist hinter dem Hotel vorhanden, 12€ pro Tag. Das Frühstück kostet 14€, zwar nicht billig doch dafür bekommt man alles was das Herz begehrt da.

On outskirts of city, safe, clean and modern area

Our requirements for the trip were to have a hotel slightly outside the centre of Hamburg, in a quiet area, easy to park the car. The hotel fulfilled these requirements very well.

The city centre was about 12 km from the hotel, easily reachable by car or by S-bahn (commuter rail) which was a five minute walk from the hotel. For the rail trip, buy the EUR 12 ticket that allows up to 5 people to travel from 09.00 through to well after midnight, within a two-zone area.

Reception staff were helpful and polite, room was spacious and clean, bathroom modern, and surrounds were a mix of residential buildings 3-10 storeys high (contemporary design with interesting/fun architecture), leisure facilities including a pool, and a small wooded area nearby. Expect a fair number of kids on field trips coming to the area, to learn about nature. Atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.

There's a buffet breakfast available (not included in the room cost), as well as a cheap alternative - coffee and croissant - but if you want croissants, make sure you don't come too late.

Parking is EUR 12 per 24-hour period, indoors or outdoors. We parked outdoors with a new car and had no problems.

If youare looking for good accommodation cheaper than what would be available in the centre of town, and are prepared to travel 15-20 minutes to Hamburg centre by car or S-bahn train, then we highly recommend this hotel.

Ottimo e moderno albergo a sole tre fermate dal centro! Tra le altre cose l’edificio è una famosa architettura eco-sostenibile progettata dallo studio di architettura Andreas Heller di Amburgo. L'edificio è costruito quasi interamente in legno massello, ospita al suo interno una mostra permanente sul rapporto tra la foresta e la città, un centro scientifico e una sala eventi utilizzata principalmente per incontri sulla salvaguardia ambientale.

En ukendt perle uden for Hamborg som overraskede positivt. Eneste minus er afstanden til midtbyen, men til gengæld ligger der en S-bahn station tæt ved.

Hotel in der Nähe der S Bahn

Wir haben schöne b9 Tage in Hamburg verbracht. Das Hotel war ein guter Ausgangspunkt für unsere geplanten Ausflüge. Der Anschluss an die S Bahn war echt super Tag wie Nacht.

Waren über Silvester in Hamburg. In dem Hotel haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit. Die Zimmer sind sehr ruhig und liebevoll gestaltet.
Wir haben dort unser Auto stehen lassen und haben die Gegend mit der s-Bahn erkundet. Diese liegt fussläufig 10 Minuten von Hotel entfernt. Bis zur Innenstadt fährt man ca.15-20 Minuten.
Die Beschreibung bei Expedia stimmte komplett. Würden dieses Hotel wieder buchen.

Super Konzept, aber Service solala...

Der Aufenthalt war super! Was ein tolles Konzept und wie viel Liebe im ganzen Design steckt! Alles sauber! Der Service konnte nur leider nicht mithalten! Uns teilte man mit, dass wegen den Sommerferien nicht so viel Personal da ist, gerade da wäre Personal doch wichtig. Denn überfordert war der Service in den Abendstunden zu 100%! Frühstückspersonal war super, aber Frau Brestmann am Abend ist uns und anderen Hotelgästen sehr negativ aufgefallen... Tische wurden nicht abgeräumt, oder sauber gemacht. Mit leeren Händen wurde an vollen Tischen vorbeigegangen. Bis man eine Speisekarte bekommen hat oder überhaupt begrüßt wurde, hat es sehr lange gedauert. Manche Gäste haben sich dies gar nicht erst gefallen lassen und sind direkt wieder gegangen... Dann war sie auch noch unfreundlich und unaufmerksam. Immerhin hat der Koch an diesem Abend vieles gut gemacht mit seiner Aufmerksamkeit und Freundlichkeit.

Sehr schönes Zimmer. Alles sauber , schönes Bad. Service sehr freundlich allerdings gab es keine essen um kurz vor 10 mehr , mir wurden aber Ausweichmöglichkeiten genannt. Ich würde das Hotel immer wieder gern besuchen. Die Lage ist auch sehr zu empfehlen
