We stayed in the Bertie suite and it was just amazing!! Loved the design, the colors and style and also loved that the LIVER building was right in view with the river Mersey right there. The breakfast was inclusive and was yummy and they even let me take a tray up to my family who were still in bed. just a perfect stay! ticked every box for us.10/10

The room was small and dark. There was nowhere to put on makeup because the bedroom was so dark and it was difficult leaning over the sink in the bathroom. My breakfast was just ok too; I had the French toast which was cold when it arrived.

Lovely bar/restaurant area and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was ok, but felt a little tired compared to the rest of the hotel. I’d paid extra for a club room to get a view, but the view was mostly of a multi-storey car park which was a bit of a shame! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Simply Outstanding. Every member of staff we met gave us a smile and a friendly greeting. Our room was spotless as always at Malmaison. We had a two coarse dinner consisting of a beautifully cooked sea bass with potatoes and veg and my partner had a very tender rump steak cooked to perfection served with chips and veg….Malmaison breakfast is also magnificent! A wide choice of cereals and fresh juices followed by our choice of a full English will all the finest ingredients including the most beautiful mushroom accompanied by as much toast as you like….if you’re staying in this great city then Malmaison should be your first choice 👌

Overall sadly a disappointing stay. Reception bright and v Christmassy. Room nice but too hot. Meal in main restaurant was hugely disappointing. Understaffed and food not great. Breakfast lovely and all staff members friendly and doing their best. Room not serviced by 5 pm even though had been out all day, and by which time we wanted to get ready to go out. Manager kindly reduced our meal bill by 50% but we did expect more of a meal at Malmaison.

This was a massive disappointment from the start, the room as neglected with filth under the bed and threadworm carpets. We went to the bar it was filthy beyond worlds fish and chip boxes and lots garbage. We orders a cocktail waited for 10 mins then the “barman” said we’re not finishing the old fashion off with a smoke dome as I’m too busy it cost £26. He then gave us a load of attitude.: it wasn’t a good experience the weakest it looks like this Hotel have given up.

As we were early our Club Room was not available but we were able to leave our bags. We checked in around 16:30 and had room 622 on the 6th floor. Only one lift was in operation. When we got into Club Room it was roasting so we quickly put the key in power supply and turned the aircon onto Cool and set as low as possible 16oC.
The room was clean and well presented. We showered and made our way out for tea as the room was too hot. We left a room key in the power to keep the air con and to hopefully cool before we came back.
When we returned around 10pm the room was still hot but as we were knackered so hopped into bed. The bed was comfy, but only having one pillow each sucked. Our Sauna Room wasn’t cooling and by 04:30 after tossing and turning we decided enough was enough, we got up packed and checked out, nobody on the 24/hr reception, after kicking about for 5 minutes we placed the key behind the desk and began our drive back to Scotland meaning we missed the breakfast we paid for too.

Malmaison is located in a great spot on the Mersey river. Close to the shopping centre and many landmarks. Was 40 mins walk to the new Everton Stadium which was the purpose of my stay.
