Nice rendezvous

Business trip, the hotel is literally at the train station (2 min away) so very convenient. The noise from the trains in my room was noticable although I'm ok with that , needed to be woken up in the morning anyway. Basic breakfast buffet, ticked all the boxes. Parking is 5 min away at the train station, overnight cost is min 20 euro unless you find a parking space on the street near the hotel.

Nice gem in Nice

The AC was amazing, it was sooo nice to go in the room. The wifi was good but I had to sign in every time to use it, my shower faucet was broken so I just decided to shower at the next hotel instead of reporting it. Location was good.

Amazing value next to train station

What a nice surprise this hotel was! Such a good value - our room had a balcony, bathtub, and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in while in Europe. Everything was clean and check in was a breeze. You’re right by the train station/ tram line which is quite convenient but keep in mind there will probably be some noise.

This hotel is in a great central location but that’s about it. Our room had visible water damage on the walls in both the room and washroom, also there was mold in the AC vent.
We checked into our room, dropped off our stuff and hit the town, we didn’t get back until late in the evening so we didn’t bring the issue with the hotel staff. Upon checking out, we brought up the water damage and mold to the hotel staff; just to let them know that we weren’t thrilled with our stay but since we were in Nice for only 2 nights we wanted to make the most of it and we weren’t in our room very much. I showed the photos to the manager who was absolutely shocked, however instead of saying sorry or anything like that, she told us the mold and water damage was our fault as this was the first time she was hearing about such a thing. She also told us that if we didn’t like the room, we should’ve told her before so she could refund our money and we could find somewhere else to stay and “during such a busy time good luck”. The manager at this hotel is horrible, she began by blaming us for the damage, then housekeeping for not telling her about it, and lastly, the building itself for being old and some damage is “inevitable”.
Once we got back I reached out to Expedia about our stay, they were super helpful and offered us a credit which is great, however, they reached out to the hotel and they denied any mold or damage.

Too Expensive and rude reception staff

this hotel takes advantage of tourists who are desperate to get a hotel room and therefore pays a rate that is far too high for what it is. Rooms are old, carpet is dirty and staff is rude and arrogant. Lots of guests had problems with broken showers, blocked drains and generally talked about the lack of cleanliness..

Disappointing, run-down hotel with bad service

rundown hotel that charges far too much. Reception staff rude and non-interested. Cleaning staff didn't speak English nor French. Shower didn't work. Carpet greasy and food stains on curtain. Bed was okay but generally a disappointing stay and one feels bad having paid that much.

Poor service, no coffee in room

The hotel is fine, the rooms are very simple. My complaint is that the room had a coffee machine but we were not able to make any coffee because there were no coffee capsules in the room. On our first day we went to the reception to ask for some coffee capsules and were told that the coffee \"isn't for every day\". Huh? This is a joke!! So cheap... Not happy at all! Little things like this can make a big difference, but at this hotel they are greedy and don't care. We will not stay there again because this hotel doesn't care about their customers.

Central location, good double glazing so you don't hear trains/trams but they're nearby for getting around town and beyond. Friendly reception team and cleaners. Only criticism is only a paper cup was provided for hot drinks and it wasn't restocked the following day. Towels replaced though even though I'd hung them up to use again.

Did the job. Good for the price we paid.

The hotel itself was absolutely fine. The reception staff were very attentive and polite, and spoke very good English. Everything was clean and well presented, maybe a little dated? But sufficient.
There were very few English speaking channels on the television to watch.
I paid for breakfast one morning but there wasn’t a huge amount of choice for the price. There was no juice in the machine and no milk for tea and coffee.
The area let’s this down. It’s opposite the train station which seems to attract an undesirable sort of pestering person. But there’s nothing the hotel can do about that.

Hotel is right by the train station so it was very easy to find. It's on the main strip which was convenient to get to the beach and around.

Location is great. Vending machine broken for entire stay, but that can be fixed. Otherwise, location by train station and next to many stores and restaurants is ideal, and service was very good. Front desk very polite and very helpful.

For a 3-star hotel it is Excellent. Fresh towels, shampoo/soap, etc. as well room cleaning is done every day. The hotel is not located in the close proximity to the beach, but it trades it well with being in the heart of the shopping area, train station for quick getaways to Cannes or Monaco for those willing to tick additional destinations from the must-visit travel list. Can't say anything about the 12EUR breakfast offered on the 1st floor until 10:30 as I preferred to dine in numerous beach restaurants and terraces. My room was small, but very cosy and it didn't feel small at all. Large balcony with a view, temperature control, free coffee/tea/biscuit in the room is a pleasant plus. And the sleep in the soft bed was like a dream.

Amazing price, amazing room

Either it's because of the amount of competition nearby, or maybe because the trains run in front of the hotel, but the fact of the matter is, I was shocked at how new and clean and overall excellent this hotel is for the price. The staff at the front desk both at night and in the morning were incredibly accommodating and helpful. The room is huge by European standards, and immaculately clean. The bathroom is large is well, and even the shower is big enough to turn around in, which is uncommon in French hotels in my experience. The room had a kettle with instant coffee and tea, and the cable for the TV had some English channels, such as BBC world. All of the fixtures in the halls and in the rooms looked new, and to be perfectly honest, in Canada, a hotel this nice would have cost twice as much, maybe more.
The tracks for the TGV and the intercity trains do run directly in front of the hotel, but I did not find that they disturbed my sleep. I don't know if the trains run 24 hours a day, but it wasn't a problem with the windows closed.
Hotel Kyriad is located less than a block away from Gare de Nice. Lots of nice restaurants in the area.
There was plenty of linen in the washroom, a big wardrobe for clothes in the sleeping area with a safe inside if you need to store your valuables, and fast reliable Wi-Fi. I have spent almost a week in France now on this trip, and so far Hotel Kyriad has been my best hotel experience yet.

Please leave the kettle for someone else to use!

This room on lower floor 2 was not as good quality as on floor 3. Wardrobe was too large for the room as it couldn't open fully for the bed. No kettle in room, so asked for one. They said they were waiting for new kettles as people had taken them!
Ask for the key to the safe on checkin. The bathroom handle was broken and could pull off. Carpet had black marks and needed cleaning or replacing.

Staff welcomed us with a smile and were happy to give recommendations on the area. Unfortunately on entering the room my eyes were drawn to the carpet which was stained in so many places. I have not stayed in accommodation with carpet in such a sad state before. Luckily everything else looked clean so I assumed they had likely tried to clean the carpet but had no luck with the stains. The shower/bath had no curtain so the water goes all over the floor which was very annoying. On the positive side, the location was great with easy access to the station, tram, and shops and the staff were happy for us to leave our bags with them after checking out due to departure from Nice later in the afternoon. Overall it was a decent stay and reasonable price with friendly service , I would just hope they change the carpet and get a shower curtain soon .

Ideal location for exploring the Nice area

This hotel is ideally located right by the main train station and mere steps from the tram line, making it an ideal base from which to explore Nice, Monaco and the surrounding towns. The room was incredibly clean and well-maintained. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Just been there with 8 mates for a weekend getaway. All we needed was a clean room to sleep in, in a reasonable location at a good price. And that's what we got. A budget hotel ok for a few days. Good walk to the promenade about 25 mins but only 5 mins from station. It was fine for the price.

The rooms were very clean and the bed was comfy. I found it to be more modern and nice as far as hotels in Europe go. However our room overlooked the train tracks and it got to be extremely loud at times. However, this location made it very easy to get to the station for day trips.

With the trams passing at ground level, the railway station at second floor level and the motorway going over the roof, this isn't the quietest of hotels, especially when the windows to the balcony do not close properly.For quiet, ask for a room overlooking the courtyard which a poor view.

This hotel is next to the station, and thus very convenient for day trips around the area if Nice is being used as a base, and also for arrival and moving on. However, despite the closeness to the railway lines, there is not much noise. The old town and the seafront are within walking distance (around 25-30 minutes). Rooms are clean and comfortable with good showers, and the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is an optional extra and expensive, but there are several very good bakeries and some supermarkets very close to the hotel.

Nice hotel for short break

Not so nice in Nice

We were initially given a room that smelled awful, so were switched to a different one. The layout was poorly designed: desk blocked half of closet so it wouldn't open and 3 beds with no walking space between. No shower barrier or curtain so water splashed all over bathroom. No deadbolt on door. Also carpet in public areas was dirty. We would not recommend this hotel.

Excellent little hotel near the train station

Very typical small but comfortable room - twin beds, wardrobe, desk, beside tables, kettle with tea/coffee, safe, bathroom with shower. Daily maid service. Only criticism is that shower has no curtain or screen on one side turning the bathroom into more of a wetroom - so the floor gets soaking wet. Aircon in the room was very good and quiet. Flat screen TV which could get BBC News (didn't check for any other English speaking channels).

Hotel is relatively small and compact. Pleasant looking from the exterior with a period facade. The inside is nice and clean and more modern looking. Very friendly and helpful reception staff who spoke very good English (much better than mon Francais). Excellent location - 300m stroll from the entrance to Gare de Nice Ville train station from where you can get trains to explore along the coast. Train prices are reasonable and trains quite frequent. The hotel is also just around the corner from a tram stop on Avenue Jean Medecin. Trams are every few minutes during the day getting less frequent into the evening/night (I think the last tram ran till about midnight). The stop near the hotel will take you down towards Place Massena, the Old Town and beyond - though this is also a pleasant walk (approx 1km to Place Massena and 2km to the Old Town).

This is an excellent hotel for those on a city break who just want a clean, safe, comfortable and reputable place where they can sleep, wash and securely store their belongings.

The hotel was in a very convenient location for a solo traveller, with transport to airport, sightseeing, food and shops on its doorstep. The hotel was quiet even though it was overlooking the train station. The room was very comfortable and included a kettle, hairdryer, and toiletries.

Good price for an average hotel in Nice

The hotel was good overall, could probably use some maintenance in a few areas but nothing drastic. We were in a room facing the railway so we could hear them as they passed by but they didn't run too late so it did not affect our sleep. The hotel is in a very convenient location as you are right around the block of the main strip and the tram stops right at the street and will take you down to the beach in less than 10 minutes. Since we were taking the train, this was a very convenient location for us (3 min walk from train station). If I were to come back to Nice, I would probably stay closer to the Beach just because I wanted to spend all of my time there!

Our room faced the railway line. The double glazing was ineffective at keeping out external noise.

The carpet was the dirtiest, most stained carpet I've ever seen in a hotel.

It was impossible to have a shower without soaking the bathroom floor.

WIFI is almost non existant!

Room was fine except the door mechanism was broken and we got locked in our room which was frightening. It never really worked well; we had to have them help us open it but they didn't want to change our room. The most annoying thing as that the wifi was terrible and my husband's computer could not ever connect. They just shrugged their shoulders and said sorry we don't know how to fix it. He had no wifi at all and mine was spotty at best.

We were just stopping overnight on a two day train journey. The beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was also good. Size of room pretty small though, and our room was facing the railway traffic. However, we slept well anyway! The price of breakfast was pretty steep, so we went across to MacDonald's which was close, and got a much better deal.

the tram and train could basiclly lead you everywhere.

the sound proofing is horrible. you could hear other people talking next door.
a little bit short of privacy.

Location is very close to train station and metro line. Staff seems always busy with friends in the lobby. Rooms are in need of repair. Carpet appears dirty and closet and furniture is all chipped up. Bathroom are clean and appear upgraded. However, we had to ask for toilet paper on two of our five nights...how hard is it to replenish the basics. The hotel rating is a two star....and better rated at less than that. The hotel is ok...just don't expect much......location is convenient.

Simplistic, comfy bed, close to centre and trains.

Basic. Perfect base to sleep, while exploring Nice and the Côte d'Azur.
A 2 min walk to train station, 1 min to tram/bus stop. Can easily walk to waterfront. Hotel is rough around the edges. Bright, average sized room, no opening windows. TV only tuned to the radio, one English station. I was a solo traveller and bed was the size of a very small double, although very comfortable.
Bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper! - although windows are double glazed, noise is still heard from nearby motorway, trains, tram and construction site opposite hotel.

Minor maintenance needed

My stay at this hotel was quite fine and the service was good (spoke perfect English). The hotel is in a less than pleasant area but is no more than 15 minutes walk from the water and only a few hundred metres from the main train station. The hotel and rooms were obviously very clean however minor things with my room could be easily rectified but these appear to not be given the attention they need. For example the air conditioner just blew hot air. Being quite mild outside, I didn't need the aircon on to be comfortable so didn't request it to be fixed while I was there but this sort of maintenance shouldn't be over looked. Also the drain in both the shower and sink were clogged so were slow to drain. The cleaning staff would notice this everyday and never had maintenance correct what should be easy enough to fix.

The hotel is conveniently located next to the main train station and a tram stop. The room was fairly spacious, though a bit dated and the carpet had stains. There was some noise from the trains although closing the windows reduced the noise significantly. The hotel charged for phone calls even though I used a prepaid calling card.

Very good location

I stayed here in mid season and I have to say I found it to be a great location. The only downfall was that the room I was first put into was in no way like the picture that was shown when I booked it. When we arrived the toilet handle was broke off and was in the sink.. not very inviting. However, we were put into another room straight away and this room was exactly like the picture which I was very pleased with. the bed we VERY comfy and the room was quite clean. I would defintely recommend this place to a friend. First floor only though as the third floor was the one with the horrible room. ;) Staff were also lovely to deal with.

Convenient to train station

We needed a one night stay between trains from Brive, France to Genoa, Italy. The Hotel Kyriad, Nice, was an easy walk from the train station, so we could roll our luggage.

Central Nice, good for exploring with a tram stop

We stayed for a week 28/8 - 5/9, party of 4 in standard and disabled. The standard was small without any hangers in the wardrobes, asked for some at reception but nothing ever appeared. Shower head broken, repaired myself lack of storage for a weeks stay. BUT bed very comfy and air con kept room very pleasant and location great for centre of Nice.

The disabled room was large with wet room and had a double and two single beds. The same storage issues and an air con issue that developed a nasty smell if turned off.

I would stay again as this was one of the better stays we have had in Nice, though only at the low price Expedia found for us.

Ideally located 'basic plus' hotel

Overall the hotel was clean and the staff were great - v helpful and friendly. However, the bathroom needed updating and we had no shower curtain meaning the whole bathroom got saturated whilst showering!

Would not stay here again

Non of the reception staff knew much about Nice or any recommendations of where to go, what to see, where to eat which was bizarre and disappointing. They were very unhelpful and not friendly at all. The room we stayed in was so small there was not enough room to move around. The onloy plus point was that it was close to the train station.

Excellent room on 5th floor (501) with city views and balcony...bathroom is big and has tub..nice room decor and comfortable beds..kettle provide in room..stayed for 2 nights..excellent staff..didn't get chance to try the breakfast..Euro 1/person/day city tax.
