close to subway station and Madison Square park. Tons of restaurants and shops nearby. Fresh flowers in the lobby. I miss the free happy hour they used to have. Staff is friendly, they took excellent care of us. Loved our stay!!

Our stay was lovely and well located for our holiday activities. Of course Manhattan is a bit pricier than other places so that takes some understanding in advance. We accidentally booked a second night on one of our rooms that my daughter could not use. They were very strict about allowing us to cancel and finally gave in to a credit for future use but only six months to use it. I felt this could have been more flexible considering we had seven other room nights booked for our holiday event.

My husband and I stayed for one night in a queen sized room. It was comfortable and well-appointed. However it was not as large or as well-appointed as the queen sized room at Royalton Park Avenue just down the street. Bathrobes were provided. The shampoo and conditioner and bath gel were nice, but there was no moisturizer. We very much liked the fact that there were free refreshments in the lobby. The pastries were very good. The free continental breakfast was fine, except that they only offered orange juice -- no apple or cranberry. What we particularly liked about the Hotel Giraffe was the small scale of the hotel and that one could comfortable hang out in the lobby area. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and I am glad that we finally decided to check it out, but I do have to say that the Royalton Park Avenue does tend to be better priced.

Rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. Hotel was centrally located to everything and very easy to walk or grab a cab. Love the 24-hour coffee, tea, hot coco and snacks downstairs that you can help yourself too. That was a very nice touch, and we used it daily from coming in for the cold weather outside. Our family will definitely be staying at this hotel next time we visit NYC. Would highly recommend to others.

Amenities lacking. Shower cap and what appeared to be a shoe shine mitt were the only things extra in the room. Honestly who really uses those 2 items?? Bottled water was in the room the day we arrived but not on day 2. Had to ask at her front desk for water. My daughter said the same thing. Rooms have definitely gone down hill since we stayed there last. Staff was great though! Very helpful and friendly.

This hotel is well situated if you don’t want to be in Midtown, but you want be close to it. There is a very convenient subway station two blocks away. The hotel furniture and carpets are a little worn, but it is clean and comfortable. We especially liked the free tea and coffee, and snacks and fruit in the lobby. That was a very nice touch, which made the hotel very inviting. I would definitely consider going back to this hotel.

I checked in and had to immediately request a move from my first room due to the smell of sewage/sulfur. I was moved quickly. However when I awoke in the new room the next morning my shower would not operate. I was preparing to go to a business meeting and there was no engineer that could fix the issue. This room was an expensive room and they offered $100 off for no shower. That is unacceptable. The reviews are correct the property is clean but if you can’t provide basic expectations you should not be in business. The offer to address the issue with $100 off was insulting. My room should have been fully compensated. I was late to my meeting.

My wife and I visit NYC two to three times per year to see our daughter who lives in the City. The Girafee is a very nice, quiet and well located hotel. The staff is friendly the rooms with king size bed are very comfortable and very clean… We have stayed over a dozen times, so we can definitely recommend the hotel.

Stayed for three nights on a girls trip. The room was spacious and clean. Comfortable beds (including the sofa bed). Staff was always friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the coffee and light breakfast every morning and appreciated the snacks available throughout the day. Stayed here 8 years ago before Covid and it was great … friendly people and lovely extras like the Manager’s complimentary drinks each evening. Sadly, this has all changed.


Add to this the fact that the place is looking old and tired; the reception staff were not particularly welcoming and the strange decision to remove the mini fridge from the room, and the hotel has lost its charm and appeal.

Hotel Giraffe was a great find and was perfect for my family's stay in New York. We stayed in a 1 bed suite with sofabed. The room was great - very clean and spacious Having the continental breakfast option was such a boon. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We ate at Audace adjacent to the hotel and had a meal that we'll be raving about for a long time! Delicious!
I'd highly recommend this propery and will definitely stay at it again on any future visits to New York.

The property was very close to transportation and many restaurants but because it was located on a busy corner it was very noisy with sirens, horns honking and construction trucks passing by all night long. The building opposite it was under construction. The room was outdated but very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was no fan or window in the washroom. Although there was a 24 hour snack program in the main lobby and a good continental breakfast it would have been nice to have a coffee machine and a fridge in our room. There was a lovely rooftop patio but it was only available to us for part of our stay. Although there was a bar and restaurant associated with the property it was in the basement rather than on the main floor. The staff was very polite and attentive and tried to make our stay enjoyable.

Remarkable and wonderful staff with clean rooms and excellent location to be close to tourist sites but not in the middle of the tourist crowds. Suite was a bit uncomfortable due to furniture choices and a really awful \"sofa bed\" where the cushions slide off opening to the metal frame of the bed underneath. That hurt when my hand slipped into the gap. Breakfast was a very basic American continental style with a few pastry options, oatmeal, fruit and yogurt, and underwhelming.

Overall, wouldn't turn away from staying again here, but would comsider alternate options first just for a more comfortable living space in the suite.

Nice, quiet hotel with a simple breakfast included. The staff were super kind and helpful. The rooms are spacious and the windows seem to block the street noise much better than other area hotels, which is a huge plus! We did however have trouble with our air conditioner, which would cool the room when we were not there, but overnight would be 10 degrees warmer than what we set it to. I would not stay there in the summer, but it was manageable in the winter.
