As usual the staff went above and beyond to ensure a fantastic festive stay. There was a couple of issues that were listened to and promptly resolved by manager Natalie. We really appreciate excellent customer service.
Kim & Henrik also really looked after us and our 2 small doggies so well in Saltz restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were fabulous. Merry Christmas to all at the Dolder and we look forward to seeing you soon again.

I despise these surveys. Ghastly box-ticking exercises that waste both my time and my ability to live. The Dolder, however, is worthy of the highest praise. The staff are delightful, the rooms commodious and the breakfast? I have just received another letter asking whether or not I, like some pathetic three year-old, “liked the breakfast at the Dolder”. Ooo gosh it was yummy! The breakfast at the Dolder is like El Greco’s ‘Burial of the Count of Orgaz’. It is perfection, it has no flaws. Can you leave me alone now?

Spectacular place! Spent 4 nights here and every member of the staff was incredibly friendly from the front desk, concierge, front door, & drivers. I cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful hotel. This gem above the city of Zurich is a tranquil retreat surrounded by lush forest. The spa and restaurants are amazing! I highly recommend the Dolder and hope to stay here again sometime.

Do not waste your time or money with this hotel. You have way better options in Zurich. This Hotel is extremely highly priced for mediocre service, bad food, no view from almost all rooms, our room was not ready until 4 pm, had to go thru 4 rooms and ended up in the first one as all the rest had a wort view. The new name for this hotel should be the Dud-ler

The Dolder Grand is breathtaking in every way; property, views, amenities, and service. I’ve stayed at some of the best hotels around the world, and this one is absolute perfection. My room was upgraded, which turned an already special trip into a magical experience.

Although I didn’t get to enjoy the Michelin restaurant since it was closed for a wedding, I’ll definitely be back to try it on my next visit. I also had an incredible facial at the spa that left me feeling completely refreshed.

An amazing, memorable stay from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Absolutely beautiful property. We tried to Omakaze restaurant which was an absolute treat. The hotel breakfast is unparalleled. The spa is also quite lovely. The only complaint is that taxis to and from town are pricey, but for the traveler who wants a property where they do not have to leave, it is absolutely wondetful. The bar is also fantastic and the rooms modern and clean. The rooms are also temperate controlled appropriately, especially considering AC is not common in Switzerland. Fabulous property-top notxh!

Overall room and facility were great, view fantastic; also hotel staff was very professional - of course at this level and price point you expect perfection. Unfortunately the breakfast restaurant had a long line, had to wait at least 10 min to get in, staff seemed stressed. Floor of the hotel room needed some maintenance, sanding and staining would help.

Fantastic experience with our 2 small dogs. Dog friendly hotel.The staff were very helpful and professional. Great customer service when we encountered an issue with lunch that was dealt with promptly and really elevated our experience. We stayed just one night for an event but next time we plan a longer trip and we look forward to returning to The Dolder Grand Hotel. The spa is worth a visit and a walk in the forest surrounding the hotel was so refreshing. Breakfast was delicious and the food in all the restaurants we visited was superb. Thanks to all the staff that made a memorable experience for us. There are so many to mention.

Can’t overstate how great sour experience was. Room was wonderful, sizable, and very comfortable. Service staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The concierge gave us some great tips and even followed up with us after we left to see if we needed recommendations for the rest of the cities in our trip. Truly an exceptional experience.

The Dolder Grand is a unique property with amazing rooms , spa and grounds. The Saltz restaurant is outstanding and the bar room cozy and stylish. The outstanding art collection that is accessible to all that is in every corner of the property is such a gift! All of the staff are courteous and attentive to our every need. The free shuttle service to old town makes getting to town easy. Additionally getting to old town by taxi or public transport is easy as well. We will definitely stay here again and hopefully go to “the restaurant” their Michelin star restaurant!

The property is stunning, and the spa was beautiful, but cleanliness was a major issue. The towels were dirty, and the room was dusty. After four weeks in various Swiss hotels, this was the first time we encountered poor hygiene. Loris, who greeted us, was excellent, but despite asking four times, the room was never cleaned properly.

We even sent photos, but nothing improved. It became a joke with my wife—we’d return, record videos of the dust, and laugh. After endless apology gifts, we stopped asking. We agreed to stay if they refunded the first uncleaned night and cleaned properly, with a full refund if they failed. They didn’t fulfill their end of the deal and tried to offer a credit instead. The lack of cleaning, excuses (especially from Tim), and disregard for our anniversary made the experience unacceptable.

Service failures extended beyond cleaning. The concierge, Peter, failed to book a tour as promised, and they forgot to arrange a ride to dinner, making us late. After that, I arranged my own airport transfer when they quoted 230 CHF in a Sprinter Van for a ride that cost us 35 CHF with Uber Black.

The location is ideal for a quiet stay with views, but less convenient if you plan multiple trips into Zurich, as it’s a 15-minute shuttle ride each way.

Considering the price, cleanliness issues, poor concierge service, and lack of transparency, I cannot recommend this hotel, especially with other exceptional options in better locations available.

Need to upgrade the bedrooms now. Getting very slightly tired. Saltz all-day dining was nice and the outdoor section. Property in public areas well-maintained. Housekeeping needs to ensure no one with a cold even with a mask enters guests rooms. Smoking should be banned on guests room balconies as it gets into guests rooms.

This property is fantastic- one of our favorite places to stay in the world. The breakfast is spectacular and so is the spa. I love the spa wing rooms overlooking the lake. Lake view rooms are a must and don’t miss a meal at The Restaurant. In our opinion chef Heiko is better than many 3 star restaurants we’ve been to.

The next level 5 star experience

I had very high expectations for the Dolder and the staff exceeded such to include an amazing room upgrade from reception and and one of the beat breakfasts I've had in Saltz. I will return at least once a year from my flat in Andermatt because of the room upgrade (too much to describe, but high class and high tech including TV mirror in bath to watch from soaking tub) and the chance to dine at their 2 star michelin. Do not miss a chance to stay there when in Zurich. It is worth every penny.

Not 5 star or luxury really. Holding loud corporate party’s that kept us awake until past 1am. Thought things where better when they offered a 500$ credit but at checkout tried to renege on it and sent some poor girl out after my departure to ask for 150$. Cheap and tacky. Staff at here nice. Management seems the issue. Also note partial view can mean in my case over a carpark and half view of carpark. Little attention to details. Dirty carpets on steps. No nibbles on hen drinking cocktail. Slow service. Surly wait staff in main restaurant ( witnessed two arguments with customers and them) Very expensive and not really worth it. Disappointed. Hoped for a spa type relaxed stay. I was over the whole issue if only they didn’t try and cheap out on their apology credit at the very end. Embarrassing. Anyway. Nice, elegant, beautiful setting but not what I would expect from a hotel at over $1100 a night. Just be specific when you book about room situation and corporate affairs they are having.

Check in we will not acknowledged by eye contact at the line. We stayed 15 minute , it was be 1 recieptionist. After 15 minute our staying, they called the collegu. They was not tell any information about hotel. So FrontDesk 1 points. Only from fromdesk girl good working, she change our room, because the room, which took us for first, was very ugly and dirty.

The only conceivable word is amazing! Perfect also may work. Every single aspect of this property, it's staff and location are ideal. Dinner at The Restaurant was one of the top 3 meals we have ever had, and we have dined our way through over 100 Michelin stars. There are beautiful properties throughout the world, and this is certainly one. What truly set it apart was the service. Every \"colleague\" was friendly, helpful and anticipatory. They handled issues before we knew of them and were always willing to go the extra mile. The spa was one of the finest we have ever used as well. We run out of superlatives. Truly a stay without equal. If we ever return to Zurich, we will stay no where else.

Our Dolder Grand experience was beyond exceptional. Our arrival felt very special, with how we were treated throughout check-in, to our brief tour around the establishment heading to our suite.

While this is a pricey hotel, every penny is worth it. We stayed in the Deluxe Junior Suite which had perfect amenities and an excellent lake view. The rest of the hotel’s features were very clean and had a perfect contrast between traditional and modern.

Our spa experience, including our couples massage, felt very special and, while the hotel was very busy (because of Valentine’s Day), nothing ever seemed too crowded or chaotic - all felt calm.

As a whole, and I say this with my most sincere opinion, this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. With certain, we shall be returning again very soon.

Fall Short of Swiss Hospitality

This hotel markets as a five star hotel and its facilities might qualify for it (except some parts are a little outdated). But its services fall far short of what one would expect from Swiss hospitality. Doesn’t compare to some top hotels in Zurich, where service is always reliable. We stayed for one weekend, and here is what we encountered. The spa receptionist was rude (although the massage was good). Although the concept of maids should never been seen maybe too old world, the two housekeepers talked loudly between themselves during the entire cleaning even though I am on the phone in the room (that’s after I tipped them). The doormen were lazy. The lobby bar was so understaffed, we felt bad asking for service from the waitress, because she was literally out of breath running. All in all, the hotel management felt amateurish anf upstart. This in a city where competitors are renowned for impeccable hospitality.

The hotel is on top of a hill overlooking Zurich. It is isolated and quite expensive even by Swiss standards. It provides an hourly shuttle to the center (to two short blocks from the Bahnhofstrasse - Swiss spelling). There also is a mostly underground funicular, the Dolder Bahn, from the foothills to the hotel's square. We were there for a hotel-based event, so we enjoyed the convenience and the amenities which were top notch. Not recommended for downtown business or entertainment.
