We loved our stay at Rivera del Rio. Our room was great (Zelda). We loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the sound of the river and watching people go by. We also loved the rooftop pool and bar. Ruben is the best! And Victor was an amazing host and helped us book another stay while we were there.

This special place is in an ideal location. Walking distance to everything in the central and romantic zones and far enough from the busy area for a quiet retreat. The rooms have views of the jungle and along the walk along the river just across the street you can find parrots, iguanas and occasionally a crocodile. Staff are friendly and responsive and rooms are spacious and quiet. We had a wonderful time here and with all we did in beautiful Puerto Vallarta.

When I asked in the afternoon, she said prblm was fixed but cannot gurantee it won't return (duh?).
I took her offer to relocate to a room on the other side of the hotel.
Javier came to help me move. Before leaving the room we tried the shower; same trickle.
He agreed with me the prblm wasn't fixed, and said other rooms on that side had the same prblm.
During the whole process no one apologized or said \"I m sorry\".
Upon checkout, the manager told me not to pay 12 usd for one of my brkfsts. When I asked why, she said \"bcs of water prblm\".
Even then she couldn't utter the word \"sorry\".
Recommendation: Check ahead.

This is hands down the best place to stay in PV! So close to everything yet just on the fringe of the romantic district. Such a unique property with amazing rooms that are all different.

The staff, particularly Javier, Reuben and Ivan were all so friendly and passionate about making the hotel inviting and fun. I love the housecats (Francesca and Elizabeth), the decor, the comfortable bed, the balcony, the infinity pool on the roof! Some of the best cocktails I had in PV were made by Reuben at the pool bar.
The breakfast was included with the deluxe room and it was delicious! The hotel is located right by the river so you get an incredible view, nice breeze and a front row seat to wildlife (birds, iguanas, geckos, so many dogs and cats). It's also close to everything - restaurants, shopping, chocolatiers, lavandarias, and it's a 15 min walk to the beach. When I come back again to PV I won't stay anywhere else.

Unique, charming hotel. We had a large comfy room with a balcony, by the river so relatively quiet but within walking distance of The Malecon and the beach. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the bartender at pool bar made a good Margherita. Will be back.

This would have been a great stay if everything hadn't been so loud. At least worn people this is not a quiet and peaceful hotel. The place is aesthetically pleasing but not peaceful in the slightest.

The Alejandro room is beautiful and spacious! Was even better than the pictures! We enjoyed everything about it, from check in to check out the staff were above and beyond helpful. The rooftop pool was ours to ourselves three times in two nights stay. We are definitely going to stay here again :)

We stayed here for a week in late October. The property is clean and well-maintained. Everything you could want is within walking distance, and other things are an Uber ride away. Jesús was an awesome bartender at the rooftop pool/bar. Javier and Iván took good care of us when we arrived. The rooms are painted in vibrant colors, and the bed was comfortable. The lobby has 2 cats that I loved to see every morning. When we come to Puerto Vallarta again, we’ll make every effort to stay at this hotel. 10/10 property

We stayed in the Carlotta. This is a ground level suite. The set up was perfect for a family. Air conditioning worked amazingly for how hot it was. Our room was always cleaned impeccably and we were provided with fresh linen and towels daily. Only note is you will hear outside noise and noise from above rooms occasionally, however it didn’t bother any of us. Really loved the location! Walkable to many different places for food and drink and to the beach. Easy to catch an uber for further excursions. Would totally recommend and can’t wait to stay in the others suites!

Hot tub broken which was the primary reason i choose hotel...Javier fat the front desk was great+++ but didnt get a warm fuzzy feeling from other staff members...breakfast was made on a hot plate...bar food in a toaster oven...bar on roof top very limited and drinks not great...i dont recommend this place...

Needs complete remodeling, big apartment but very old. Did not feel comfortable staying there. Not safe for kids because they could fall from the room and stairs. Baby crib from the 80s that no kid could sleep in we were charged for it but they did remove the charge after speaking to them. The staff were nice. They do lock the entrance door so it’s safe to stay there. Big kitchen has everything you need

The rooms are spectacular and so unique! The roof top pool with the most personable bartender Jesus made you feel like you were right at home! Breakfast was included in my second stay and was super delicious in an insanely gorgeous room with balcony views. I will stay here over and over again! So grateful and thankful to have found this hidden gem! 5 Stars across the board!

The hotel seemed really unique online. However, the photos made it seem much more clean than it actually was. There were cats in the lobby (great if you're a cat person). The pool seems misrepresented too. It's very small. However, it has a nice small bar there with a friendly bartender. My room was acceptable but required walking up a small, narrow, twisted staircase, which made it difficult to bring items up and down safely. I ate breakfast upstairs one morning (I only had toast, coffee, and fruit). The staff there did not seem very friendly. There's a beautiful river and trail outside, but I did not find it convenient getting around. There was really not a lot of close dining nightlife without taking a walk. I decided to check out two days early because all night there seemed to be a gurgling and knocking sound, almost like water draining from a wash machine. It was so loud that I could not sleep. I spoke to management about it and they said that had never happened before. I was not offered any sort of refund (even partial) for my remaining two days, so I just considered it a loss.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Javier at the front desk was amazing, and Jesus at the bar was awesome. Elizabeth, the hotel cat, was adorable as well. The room was so clean and had so much character. We enjoyed the rain shower and beautiful bathroom, in addition to our balcony with stunning views of PV. The couples massage in the room was one of of the best we’ve ever had - highly recommend. The infinity pool and bar was amazing. It was hot when we came so the A/C was wonderful in the room. Everything in Zona Romantica was within a 15 minute walk. We were tucked away by the river which was quaint, but just blocks away from bars and entertainment. We will be back as soon as we can— You MUST stay here!

This hotel has become our favorite in Puerto Vallarta. It’s has the feel of staying at a family member’s house. With an infinity pool that has a great view. All of the staff is outstanding however Javier at the front desk goes above and beyond when it comes to personal service. He quickly notices that my husband and I drink a lot of coffee and arranged to put a coffee maker in our room without us even requesting one. The entire staff shares the same desire to make every guest feel at home. For this reason I will stay in this beautiful hotel every time!

While the hotel boasts beautifully decorated spaces it is the staff at Rivera Del Rio that made this place wonderful. The breakfast staff, the bartender and the woman at front desk and Javier were very attentive and a pleasure to talk to. We truly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again.

Gorgeous hotel built with lots of attention to detail, decorated with tasteful furniture and unusual artwork. Rooms are very spacious and with comfortable mattresses (we stayed in 2 different rooms during our 7 night stay, both had a nice large balcony overlooking the river).
Hotel is located on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of Zona Romantica and the Malecon. We did hear barking dogs during some nights, but otherwise it was very peaceful. Lots of amenities: heated infinity pool and a bar on the rooftop with stunning views, jacuzzi
on a different level, plus 2 more pools elsewhere on the property. Front staff was wonderful (thank you, Javier!). The staff all spoke good English and were extremely helpful and friendly.

Hotel is located on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of Zona Romantica and the Malecon. We did hear barking dogs during some nights, but otherwise it was very peaceful. Lots of amenities: heated infinity pool and a bar on the rooftop with stunning views, jacuzzi

This property was so stunning and very clean. We enjoyed their rooftop pool, which has a great view and we felt our room was nice and comfortable. Staff were warm and welcoming and the resident cats were adorable. My only complaint is that was very noisy at night as the locals that live next to the hotel had many barking dogs and they would bark very late at night and throughout odd times in the morning. I’d definitely bring earplugs. Other than that I would definitely stay here again.

Riviera Del Rio was the perfect place to stay. The photos do not do the hotel justice it's unique in a town full of modern western decorated airbnbs and all inclusive resorts with identical rooms. this hotel has personality. The staff felt like long lost friends Rigo at the front and the fabulous Jesus at the rooftop pool bar give a warm fun infectious flair. Jesus makes the best guacamole right in front of you with fresh ingredients. The rooftop infinity pool heated + 24hrs offers a breathtaking view no matter the time of day. Have breakfast in another unique room or pay a little extra to have it as room service. We stayed in 3 different rooms during our stay Medusa and Rasputin were perfect with balconies. Mariposa had an enormous tub. the second pool and hot tub were nice but we spent a majority of time at the rooftop with Jesus and a margarita. Well priced and enchanting we won't stay anywhere else when we return.

Great location in the Romantic Zone. Within 10 min walk of the beach. Tons of restaurants. Easy access to Centro (but hills are involved). Facing the river so it's quiet. The hotel inself is very cool. It's quirky, eclectic and has a lot of it's old world elegance intact. We stayed in the Green Room. One of the smaller rooms (part of the original building), it doesn't have a deck or patio but is located next to the lower (unheated) pool/bar area. I spent many pleasant mornings sitting at the pool with my coffee. There is a 2nd (heated) pool on the top of the relatively new tower which has another bar and great views to the west (great for sunsets) and across the river to the north. The staff is great (Jesus at the roof top bar was full of information about Puerto Vallarta and makes a delicious margarita). Breakfast available.....$12US for full breakfast and $7 for continental. However, there are so many breakfast options within a 5 min walk that we only ate at the hotel once.
