Had no no view to the beach the AC was perfect. Excellent but the elevator needs some adjustments is not working properly. The sensors on the door almost knocked us down twice and I have an artificial knee so that does not help. !!
There was no no ice available at the hotel we needed to go down to the restaurant Si Señor
PS most of all no hairdryer on a crazy humidity 99 100% we need a hairdryer other than that the staff was excellent. The front desk was awesome. We had a great time. Would like to come back but we do need ice in the rooms so we could have some cold drinks.

Beach view obstructed air conditioning was a disaster to start with, excessive water on the floor coming from the system not being maintain properly, wash room no safety bar on the wall other then the cheap towel bar which dislodge when my wife slip out of the shower and attempted to hold and fell to the ground and broke her wright arm......not good after paying an extra $600.00 for room upgrade room 106......and then spending 3 days in the hospital requiring surgery etc. not to nice....

The view from our hotel was priceless and access to the beach was great. We loved the staff. They were extremely helpful and gave great recommendations. The cleanliness of the rooms and surrounding areas was impeccable. Great location. Overall we loved our stay at Emperador.
Unfortunately, the air conditioner did not keep the room cool. My husband looked and could definitely see the filters needed to be changed. Also, when booking the room be sure to check the fine print. The shuttle from the airport is not included and you must make arrangements ahead of time.
But overall, we would stay there again, mostly because of the great staff, clean hotel and access to the beach.

I loved everything about this hotel. The location was perfect, the staff was so hepful and accommodating, the room was perfect.
There was only one things that prevented me from being able to give 5 stars and that was the bed. As a first time traveler to Mexico/PV I wasn't aware that beds in hotels (especially older ones, from what I've researched now) that the \"bedframe\" is concrete to prevent moisture and insect issues. It felt like i was sleeping on concrete, the mattress wasn't thick enough to help. Unfortunately, this is a huge part of an amazing hotel experience for me because I didn't get sleep. I wish I could say I'll definitely be returning but unless they change the bed situation, I can't say that.

The AC kept the room cool well through the day and the beach access was nice. The service of the staff was okay, but I didn’t understand much of the explanation regarding bringing guests and accessing the beach chairs. Also, the pool is ridiculously small, about the size of the miniature bathtub or inflatable pool. The cleaning staff literally walked into my room without knocking on two occasions. There was no “do not disturb” sign available either. The main attractable attribute to the hotel stay was the nice balcony and beach view as well as the kitchinette and appliances.

What a great view and what a great outdoor space! The location is ideal for us. It is definitely a crowded area though especially around the Easter holiday we found.If you are a people watcher, this is your place. The staff went above and beyond -everything I requested they were able to make happen for me. We plan on coming back next year.

We started in a standard twin bed room and were able to switch after 2nd night. The room was clean but eafter a couple of days, we wanted a room with a balcony. The difference in olive was nominal so it was a pleasant surprise. Once we got the bigger room, it was definitely more spacious and the balcony was large with a small kitchette. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. My daughter and I enjoyed having a view of the beach. The sunsets were amazing. We ate at different restaurants each day and always felt safe walking the Malecon in the evenings. Our length oft stay was 7 days. I would definitely book a this hotel again.

We had a Junior Suite and the view was terrific. Kind of wish they had an awning over the balcony / patio as afternoon sun was quite intense. Bed and other furnishings were just fine. Bathroom was small but served the purpose. I hope the tap water was safe because there was no bottled water provided. WiFi was ok in the room, but shaky out on balcony / patio. Staff was great across the board.

I had a fantastic stay at Emperador Vallarta Beachfront Hotel and Suites. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless—they had my room ready early and allowed me to check in without any hassle, which was a great start.

The room was comfortable and well-maintained, with daily cleaning that kept everything fresh. A nice touch was the complimentary bar refrigerator, which made it easy to keep drinks and snacks on hand. The amenities overall were solid and thoughtfully provided.

The highlight for me was the view—absolutely stunning. From my terrace, I had an incredible outlook over the iconic Los Muertos Pier, which made mornings and evenings especially memorable.

The location couldn’t be better. Just about 200 meters from the beach along Bahía de Banderas, and right in the heart of Zona Romántica, you’re surrounded by excellent restaurants, plus easy walking access to bars and nightlife.

The hotel’s attached restaurant, El Señor, is a standout on its own. Great food, plus the option for private beach dining makes for a really special experience. The hotel also offers beach lounge chairs, which is a nice perk for relaxing by the water.

One tip: request a beachside room if possible, as the street-facing rooms can be a little noisy in the evenings.

Overall, this is a great beachfront option with unbeatable location, friendly service, and some memorable touches that made my stay truly enjoyable. I’d definitely return.

Lovely location, comfortable bed, clean room. Bathroom needs an upgrade for sure, it’s a bit cramped and old but is still functional and clean. Ideal room if looking for quick beach & pier access. Good location for those avoiding steeper areas of the romántica zone. Staff are very friendly and accommodating! Recommend getting a room with ocean view/deck nice spot to hang out in the morning and evenings! I would stay here again.

Our first few nights were facing the street. The room was cozy but clean. Air conditioner worked well, but was very noisy. Bathroom was tight and door knob was broken. We thought that even though it needed a few things we could make it for the week. It was clean and we wouldn't be spending a lot of time in the room. When we spoke to the front desk about the price difference between the street facing room verses a beach facing room, the wonderful gentleman offered us a free upgrade. The room was reasonably larger, the air conditioner was quite, the bathroom also had more room. The staff was absolutely great. The gentlemen at the front desk were super helpful and a pleasure to chat with. The hotel is right on the beach and easy walking distance to the melacon, shops and restaurants very close.

Location was the best, but no assistance during the incident took place in February. Elevator had been out of order before the Cartel incident . During the cartel attacks to this city entire city stores and all closed and had hard time to find essential food for the guests. One written notice was put out after the incident, but no follow ups.
I would think twice in the future if when I visit PV.

I stayed in a standard king room. The building itself is a bit older but still maintained very well. The main highlight of the hotel is its convenient location on the beach. The staff are very friendly and willing to share information on what to do in Puerto Vallarta. If noise bothers you, this may not be the best place since it is located next to several bars and clubs playing loud music.

The room was just a mountain side standard room (nothing special) but I knew this going in. But it was always cleaned very, very well by the friendly house keeping staff! The entire hotel staff was very friendly, let us use a refrigerator in our room and was responsive to questions and needs that we had. Our trip had to be unexpectedly extended due to the cartel attacks in the city and the hotel staff was very gracious and even offered a discount for the additional days. I was most appreciative and would not expect that to occur in the USA! It was a great location and I would definitely stay at this property again!

The staff here were kind and the location was great. That aside the hotel itself was horrible. The beds are insanely uncomfortable, the toilets run water and leave rust stains. Every time I went to use the restroom, there was water all over the toilets. If you like a chilled room, beware the only blanket you get is that of a large throw blanket. The elevator which broke is insanely tiny but be prepared to walk up stairs in any instance. Felt horrible for the seniors who had to hike up to the 3rd & 4th floors once the elevator broke. It’s no frills & basically the spirit airlines of hotels. They don’t offer you anything. No coffee, no tea, it’s just literally a room and some walls that are paper thin. There was someone on my floor screaming until 2am one of the nights I was there.

We tried to find another hotel nearby it was that bad. My family & I were willing to eat the cost but unfortunately we came over a busy weekend and everything was booked.

My senior grandmother was placed in a room with DOUBLE TWIN beds rather than the King room we requested for her.

We won’t stay here again.

Staff at the hotel was polite. On the other hand, the restaurant/beach attendants were not. They were pretty rude especially when it came to the beach chairs. They threw our towels out so they can seat other people there even though we were in the “correct” area. The location itself was central and walkable to stores, restaurants, etc. The room was comfortable and the ac blew at a nice temperature. Shower could use more pressure as well as the toilet flush.Top floor terrace has a nice view of the Malecón. Overall nice stay at a clean, customer focused (hotel staff) centrally located hotel on the beach. Might stay here again. Recommended.

Location was great on the Malecon (ocean walk). Large room with a king-size bed and large balcony, though the afternoon sun gets hot. Convienence of a Mini kitchen, although with all the restaurant options, we never used anything except the refrigerator. No pool, nice terrace on roof with loungers and tables/chairs, but only a SMALL dedicated spot on the beach between restaurants. We were on the first floor end unit, and found the Friday night noises up to 3 AM were loud. We would come back and ask for another unit.

They will not check you before even when I was in the booking area or front desk at 12:30. When I came 1/2 late after 3 they gave a two twin bed. Even when I was my self requested a change and they said they had no choices. The safe in room did not work, and when asked help for that that said they did not have batteries for it. When I saw the battery place inside the door it looked rusty and stemmed like it did not receive maintenance never! They left me the key and it also did not work well. I was afraid of the security of my valuables and I never left them inside the room. The beds are over cement base very uncomfortable that I was not even able to take a nap. I just could not sleep. Small tv though it worked. No drinking water, no body lotion, and the room space reminded me like those cheap social interest little house they hold in Mexico for the poor. Very small room or space in between beds, the walls and the poor furniture they have. The elevator was failing and had to be fixed by a maintenance guy before we could use it. The way entrance to the beach is a hall and though way through a restaurante Si señor, managed by a different company that you cannot use the beach seats on the beach because they move they move them out to set for dinning space invading the public beach. Will not stay there again at all, especially at the prices they charge and what they offer is over over priced. It is one & 1/2 star hotel at the most!

The room was really beat up. Couldn’t close doors without forcing them. Toilet wouldn’t flush without at least 2 attempts. lol not big poops. The WiFi was a joke. I just gave up on it. The staff was great, attentive and made the stay better. I wouldn’t stay here again without major improvements. Sorry to be harsh but there are better places to stay at the same price.

I will preface my review with *we would - and actually hope to - stay again*. The Pros for us win out. :)

The Pros: Super helpful staff, spacious room, lovely rooftop terrace, great location, amazing views, fun walkable area with great cafes, bars, and restaurants, beach loungers provided to hotel guests (there aren’t many, so go early to get one).

The Cons: The rooms are in need of a facelift - very dated. The room was generally clean, but the bathroom could use a deep cleaning for rust and residue buildup. The pillows were quite lumpy, and the linens were laundered but some were stained and dingy. The most disappointing thing for us was how uncomfortable the chairs on the balcony were. We had the most amazing view of the beach, pier, and ocean, but sitting for long in the provided chairs was out of the question. Replacing those chairs with comfortable ones would be a game changer.

Ok to be honest, the hotel is outdated and I don't trust the ads and pictures. Staff are great and the location is the best! We stayed at the Emperador Hotel and, based on that, we were allowed to use the private beach for free. The restaurant staff didn’t let us use the beach and demanded money, which we weren't supposed to pay because we were staying at the hotel. At the same time, they were letting people who were not staying at the hotel use the private beach and pay! They are all ripping off the customers. Terrible!

We complained to the hotel reception so they set up few chairs way in the back not in the front with sun otherwise I love Emperador very much.

Great area, did not like the limited space and time to lounge on the beach using hotel chairs. They remove chairs by 330 to prep for dinner tables. Very small area to relax and sunbathe. Suite was perfect for four girls. Very noisy area and walls must be thin due to being able to hear guests next door. Area is great and walkable to malecon and great bars, cafes and bars.

Pro: The staff and especially Gervascio was very accomadating, he got us a fan for our room and a microwave.
Very close to shows, able to walk.

Cons: Kitchenette room did not have microwave.
Fan did not work, limited kitchenware. ( no bowls to store food) etc. Small bathroom with limited shelves. All furniture was hard. We were there during the holidays so every night by the tree on the pier they played loud music with heavy back beat until 10 pm. even after xmas.

The hotel is in the heart of the romantic zone, the room was comfortable and clean.

The staff was not super helpful, for example, we walk to the beach and they didn't tell us that we had to procure the towels from them so we had to go back.

They advertise that they have some lounge chais and umbrellas at the beach however, they belong to the restaurant on the beach and they only allocate literally six lounge chairs, which is clearly not enough for all the people staying in the hotel.

We had to pay the restaurant to rent the lounge chair, so don't get deceived, there are no beach amenities provided by the hotel.

We booked a double bed and thought everything was good until we arrived. This was a trip I was proposed on ana they only had a room with two single beds available.. we were fuming. The staff were not accommodating and one guy in particular was really hard to deal with. The room was tiny and honestly we could’ve gotten a better room in a hostel. They then said they had a room in two days. We agreed to switch after not being able to find a different hotel. There was a constant sewage smell in the room as well as cockroaches and bugs.. this was the worst hotel experience we’ve had and will not be booking here again.

All the staff are very friendly and courteous. The room is older but the staff keep it very clean. There are no comfortable chairs in the room or on the balcony. We had the ocean front family suite with a beautiful view, but nothing comfortable to sit on!
Beach. Chairs annd umbrellas are advertised for on the beach BUT there are only 8 chairs for the whole hotel. You have to be sure to get down early to grab a chair or else pay 500 pesos to rent from the restaurant.

Clean room, good air conditioning, and the staff was great. The building is old but the location was perfection. I really wish they would have had a coffee maker but other than that I have no complaints.
