My stay was simply exceptional. The location, the staff, and my room were all wonderful. I highly recommend getting an Ocean Suite the views are absolutely breathtaking. The property is beautifully decorated, well kept, and very peaceful. I truly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be coming back. I’ve added this boutique hotel to my list of favorites.❤️

We actually didn't get an ocean front room however all I can say is it's impossible to not see the ocean from this hotel. We had a room set back on one of the pool levels but our balcony was basically the pool. The common areas are exquisite and all have views. The rooms with the ocean views looked great and all the other guests seemed quite happy.

Gorgeous place nestled down the hillside on a cobblestone lane, perched just above the beach with the sound of waves splashing across the boulders. Lots of texture to this place. Feels like you’re staying in a convent in Spain.

The room was not at all in line with the photos and descriptions provided. When we arrived they were painting the small reception area, and there was dust and workers everywhere. The works somehow continued throughout our stay. There were many stairs to the room most likely the equivalent of 4 floors. On the day of departure it was impossible to find anyone to help with luggage. Pool water is cold. Nothing is explained nor is there a tour of the maize that the property is. Details are overlooked….
On the plus side, the view from the room was breathtaking. The staff are kind. The location is quite convenient to Vallarta and other points of interest. Though quirky, the hotel is charming with a lovely secluded beach and cove right at its footsteps.

This place got a facelift! Quiet PV hotel away from the crazy of the zona romantica. Friendly staff, full bar and kitchen, beach access, rooftop deck and rooms with tons of character. This place has a lot going for it. Shout out to Fabian and Jesus for being great hosts!

Our room was very large and unique, authentic Mexican decor with a stunning ocean view where we often could see whales. There were many steps up and down to navigate the room, which could cause a person to fall if they were not always careful. The bed was extra firm, which was uncomfortable. There was no hot water on our last day at the hotel. Construction workers started early in the morning outside the room. Only one very small pool was available and no hot tub. It would have been helpful to have a shower to rinse the sand off when coming up from the beach. It was too rocky to swim in front of the hotel but was possible walking a few minutes in either direction. The surf there is quite strong and could be dangerous. The walk to the romantic district and town took about 20 minutes along a somewhat convoluted route (not an easy walk along the beach). The food and drinks at the restaurant were very good though the menu is limited. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.

I was solo, celebrating my birthday. They surprised me with a free upgrade plus a very respectable bottle of champagne on ice. It was a brand new remodeled room with a large balcony, 180 degree view with the ocean right below. Crashing waves and lovely sea breeze so I never used the air conditioner. Nice beach at the bottom of the stairs with free lounges & umbrellas, bar service. Beautiful Mexican architecture throughout the Villa, pools, outdoor scenic restaurant with wonderful service and food. Every request was immediately satisfied by a happy, efficient staff that made me feel very at home for the 10 days I was with them. Warm sea for swimming & snorkeling right in front or a long gentler one 2-3 minutes over some stairs to the south. $5 Uber to town or walk 20 minutes. $25 Taxi to the airport. If using Uber at the airport,(p.u. is haul over the street bridge) set it up before you leave the terminal or you may never get one. Don't let the non refundable stop you. Just get extra insurance as this place is worth it!

Stayed in the “deluxe” king size ocean front room, quotes are because there is nothing deluxe outside of the view. Water pressure was terrible, breakfast took 2 hours and was not worth it. I stayed 3 nights, sheets were never changed, there was cigarette buds on the balcony table. and I’m sure I didn’t get the room I paid for…

The room was amazing as we stayed in the Raphael! Jerry, Itzel, Sonia and Manuel the bartender were fantastic and gracious hosts as we got a full tour of most of the rooms (some were occupied and couldn't be viewed). They are undergoing a remodel right now but it didnt bother us as there is plenty to do and see during the day in the Romantic Zone and even in downtown Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant in hotel is very good food and its a 1 minute walk right out to the beach! For authentic mexican feel, this Hotel is it! If the construction bothers you then book in January when they are complete, we will definitely be staying here again and cant wait to see the finished product!

We absolutely loved staying at this amazing property. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home. The maintenance guy was amazing, so sorry I didn't get his name. We had a hot water issue and he resolved it quickly and checked in with us. Getting chairs and an umbrella at the beach wasn't always accessible. My suggestion would be to set up three areas every morning knowing your guests will use them without having to request that service.

The service alone is with the rating. Communicative and clear. Easy check in and check out.

The building is a set of built up levels, about 6, from beach at the bottom to quiet back street at the top, with authentic charm and eclectic styling in each room. Getting between the floors can feel like a bit of an adventure designed by MC Escher, but you catch on quickly to the layout.

The restaurant is very expensive, however the quality of the food clearly showed a world class cheff and staff in the kitchen.

So far, it's my favourite space I've stayed in PV. It may be yours too.

Good hotel, super dark standard room

We booked the “standard king” because it was the only room available and the description included “partial sea view”. There was no sea view at all. Darkest hotel room we have ever experienced. Sliding glass patio doors simply look into an inner courtyard. You cannot possibly see the sea from the room. False advertising. If the description had not indicated partial sea view we would not have booked this. We complained but the hotel would not do anything about it. Submitted official complaint through hotels.com but they could not do anything about it. We left the hotel and found a better place to stay to avoid ruining our vacation. Lost all the money on the Quinta Maria Cortez. The rest of the hotel seemed decent enough, quirky, right in a quaint beach. Those two “standard” rooms are just awful though, and they should be honest in the hotels.com listing that there not a partial sea view.

We loved our nights at the Quinta Maria. The building itself is unique and full of character. The staff is super helpful and thoughtful. For those unfamiliar with the area, there’s not much going on for lunch and dinner (breakfast is included and is lovely) so prepare for a quick trip into PV for food. Re: transportation, out of several Uber trips, only one missed the turn into the hotel (it’s off a side street and easy to miss). Also, be prepared for lots of steps in case you have mobility issues. Overall, the beach, the pool, the service was all amazing. Also get massage if you can!

From the start, we loved our stay. The staff was helpful from Check-In to Check-Out. They were always there at a moment’s notice to help us during our stay. The rooms were well-kept and it truly felt like we had our own villa. It was so relaxing. We loved being right on the beach. We loved the daily breakfast offered. The staff knows how to take care of guests. I cannot recommend this place enough ! Yes, it’s not in the central area but the Ubers are easy and cost-effective. I think we found a gem with this place.

The beach was very rocky and one had to walk over a trail to the next beach where there was limited access to the water. The employees of the hotel were very helpful, especially Giovanni. We only briefly met the manager on our first day, and she only said \"good morning\". I fell and fractured my back on the third day and couldnt make all the steps up to the breakfast, so my friend brought me some toast every day. The manager never contacted us or asked about my condition, which I found strange.

True Unique experience. Nothing like central located “all inclusive” chain typical hotel.
Pro: very few people on this beautiful beach. Feels like private paradise. Staff friendly and happy to answer questions, call cab, provide recommendations for dining. Comfortable beds, beautiful eclectic furniture. Useful little kitchen. You will fall asleep and wake up to a sound of ocean waves!
Be prepared: stairs! It did not bother me and felt like daily fitness routine. But if you have health/knees issues- find hotel with elevator. We stayed in very spacious Maximillian suite. Most of it (sitting area/kitchen/one bed/bathroom) is under roof. Fresh air and ocean breeze is hugging your body 24/7. One bed in AC room. I loved the experience and end of October was not too hot. Rooms have fans. However two nights out of 7 we stayed I had very hard time falling asleep and wished we were able to close windows! You hear not only pleasant waves, but yapping of kids in pool or engagement celebration. Congrats! But if it’s not my company and not my kids… ahh
Would love to stay at this place again! Way more Pros than Cons and will hope for quite neighbors and might try another more enclosed suite for next stay, but I miss beach view already! And absolutely recommend to visitors who enjoy nature and beauty of beach, and appreciate personal space to “shoulder to shoulder” buffet style “drink till you drop” “party all night” atmosphere 😉

This was our second time visiting Quinta Maria. Sara and her staff are so attentive and kind. We love the quiet beach (which is not a far walk into town if you are mobile), the unique property, delicious breakfast, and beautiful beach. We will definitely come back anytime we find ourselves in PV. This is the best hidden gem in town.

Absolutely beautiful property! We stayed in the Maxi Suite and didn’t want to leave! The views, the decor, the comfortable beds, the food, THE SERVICE. We could not ask for more. Loved the entire staff, always there to help, including the sweet security guard. The only drawback was the stairs from Maxi to the gorgeous beach but it got easier. And the view from our room made it hard to leave anyhow. Sorry to leave💔

We absolutely loved this place! The hospitality was above and beyond what we expected. We stayed in the Maximiliano which was breathtakingly beautiful. Jovany helped take up all our of luggage (4 suitcases) and was always available to answer any questions. We had done a night tour and came back very very late, he greeted us outside the gated door and saw that we entered safely. On the day of our check out, we had an early tour to attend and asked if we could leave our luggage with them until our return. Without hesitation they kept our personal belongings locked up until our return. We would most definitely return to Quinta Maria Cortez, next time for a much longer stay!

This is one of the most incredible places I have ever stayed. The hotel is beautiful, the location is beautiful, the staff is exceptional, the breakfast was delicious, and our room was comfortable, clean, and so beautifully decorated. I could go on and on. I felt so \"at home\" and can't wait to visit here again and again. We felt like we were off the beaten track, but it was only a 10-minute walk along the beach into town. And if we were too tired to walk, taxis were easy to hire and very reasonable. This is truly a gem.

We loved the Guadeloupe suite. Perfectly situated on the beach lots of stairs down and up but we loved the ground floor.
The only negative was the lights they left on in the hall/stairwell. It shined into our bedroom all night.

The beach was perfect to swim in and the staff were friendly.

The facility itself was lovely, decorated with Mexican antiques and paintings. The staff was gracious and accommodating. Having my morning breakfast overlooking the sea was definite plus. I had all the amenities I could want in my room and my trips to and from the Zona Romantica were coordinated by an accommodating staff. I loved my five days there and will definitely rebook on my next trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was really quite lovely.

The Quinta Maria Cortez is an extremely quaint and eclectic B&B. It's directly on the beach, on the south side of Vallarta away from the big pretentious resorts and time shares. Here's what we liked:
Private beach
No constant sales badgering
Very friendly and helpful staff
Balconies with amazing views
Easy access to transit into town
Fairly full kitchen(fridge, blender, microwv, toaster)
Iguanas right outside the room
Active security day and night( we've never felt safer in Mexico)
Covid test arranged by staff prior to our departure (right in our room)

In all, our stay felt like a home away from home.
Sara and all the staff had great, personalized suggestions for places to visit or see. If you are looking for a place with real character, this is the place. On the other hand, if your tastes lean more to the flashy, sterile resorts then you are not going to like QMC. It is rustic but clean, homey and down to earth, relaxed and roomy.

Words cannot explain how beautiful this room and property are. We felt like royalty staying here and absolutely loved the staff members and all they did for us. The views and location were so great, secluded but within walking distance of Playa Los Muertos and Zona Romantica. Easy taxi ride or walk into town.

I will stay here many more times! Oh, and the breakfast was delicious!!

This place is absolutely magical! Each room is unique and gorgeous in its own special way. We stayed in Rafael and thoroughly enjoyed the spacious patio overlooking the ocean. I've never spent so much time in my actual hotel during a vacation but this hotel is so special I just didn't want to leave! Breakfast was delicious and the staff was beyond courteous and helpful, especially Jimmy, the night security guard. I will definitely return to this hotel. Please be advised that if you see the large lizard that visits the hotel, we named it Elizardbeth!

My husband and I absolutely loved this property. We especially appreciated the older architecture and the open concept that the room provided. The staff was nothing but the most helpful and friendliest. I would stay nowhere else. We plan to visit the property again and bring more guests along. It's a Must!

Love the location- right on the beach! It’s a smaller property, which gives it a cozy and personable feel. Fairly quiet and peaceful - good for relaxing. Has a rooftop balcony area with great views of the ocean.

Very friendly and capable staff. Very good breakfast. My room was very nice, but I didn’t know until I got there that the bedroom is a 10-step flight of stairs above the rest of the room. Not so good when you’re old and have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

We had a phenomenal stay; the room was super spacious and super clean. The ocean view of the room was amazing. We had a wonderful experience to the extent that we changed our plans to spend more time in the room. Also their staff were amazingly nice.

Cons: a few lizards in different sizes in the bathroom was a little scary for my wife. I am not sure if they could do anything about it given the room is essentially open to the ocean (the patio).

This is a quaint Puerto Vallarta B and B. The service and the staff were wonderful. Breakfast specials everyday, consistently good, with great service. Close in with beach access to the Malecon and several outstanding restaurants. We will be back.

The room looked like it was a former storage room. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and their was a crab by my feet. Furnishings looked like early Inquisition. The ceiling in some places was only several inches above my head. Now, the other rooms in the hotel may be charming, but they should NO
T try to pass off this studio as a room and change for it.
