The service at this resort was outstanding. The food was delicious in the buffet and the specialty restaurants, particularly the Italian one. The adult pool went beyond my expectations. I would have given the resort 5 stars if the room condition was better. We ended up staying in two different rooms and there were minor repairs required in both. I think what really stood out was the customer service at the Expedia check in office. Josephina was amazing, she went out of her way to make our stay comfortable and was always in contact with us the entire trip. You truly feel like family because the staff are genuinely happy to see you. Would definitely come back again.

Our room was amazing and spacious and the view was SO beautiful!! Your housekeeping staff was so friendly and helpful and kept our room fresh and clean every day!! Your repair maintenance man carried a new TV to our room when it didn't work and replaced it. Your bartenders and food staff go above and beyond to make sure that we eat well and stay hydrated!! The food is amazing and the selection is delicious, from the fish tacos, hamburgers, and cheesy fries, to the amazing breakfast buffet, and Asian and Italian night options!! The coffee shop made waking up just that much better!! The Altitude special service area was an extra perk!! It made us feel very special!! The infinity pool and entertainment staff truly made special memories for us!! Water aerobics, foam party, bingo, pool volleyball, aqua Zumba, the dancers, karaoke, and the view of the ocean was amazing!! I want to tell you that your staff is truly your greatest strength!! When the events that happened on Sunday took place, your staff had to deal with so much more chaos, but they came through it with grace and understanding and I have never felt more safe!! They worked through it all on a skeleton crew but they did it together and it really showed!! They pivoted and provided their best with who and what they had to work with and we were able to continue with our vacation without too much disruption. Thank you for helping make our vacation so memorable and special!!

We were there when the \"civil unrest\" broke out. I cannot imagine what the staff must have felt when they, like the resort's guests, had to shelter in place. They couldn't go home to their own families, yet they wore smiles as they cared for us and made sure we felt safe.

We returned last week from our one week stay at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta.
Rooms:
This resort is not new, so there are some cosmetic fixes needed here and there, but everything was very clean. Beds were comfy and many pillows available.
Connectivity: I was concerned when I read other reviews that the Wi-Fi was only available in public areas and not very good. Our experience was that the Wi-Fi was good in the rooms, including capability of streaming. It was slightly inconvenient to have to re-login when you went outside at the resort, but not a big deal.
Staff: Everyone we encountered was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had a small maintenance issue in our room that was dealt with in minutes.
Entertainment: Something different every night! Our room was overlooking the entertainment area and we enjoyed watching and listening from there.
Food: Best food I’ve ever had at an all-inclusive resort! Incredible variety of fresh delicious food at the buffet and some lovely choices at the à la carte restaurants as well. Fish tacos at the adult pool were amazing.
All and all, a lovely vacation!

Pros… beach is lovely, ocean is warm (tad on the rough side), employees work hard, pool is very nice, never went hungry at the buffet, Japanese restaurant is awesome, FISH TACOS at snack bar were awesome!!, weather was fantastic!! Room was clean & spacious

Cons… if you want a top poolside chair need to be up before 6am (happens at almost all resorts), the hotel is starting to show its age & entertainment team while we’re high energy & friendly were inconsistent.

Overall, we would return to this resort…had a great time!! 🙌

The place looks better in pictures than in person. Our room was in the tower. It was ok. The amenities lacked. No wash rags, 1 hand towel, 2 bath towels, no tissue or hair dryer. We had to call for these items. The food was not very good. The drink selection was poor. The hostess at the Mexican restaurant was not friendly and difficult. She was not accommodating. We asked to speak to a manager since she was being difficult and was told she didn't have one. A few minutes later a gentlemen came to speak to us. We then said to the hostess \"You do have a manager\" and touched her arm. We were seated. 5min later a manager comes to our table and said you must leave the property immediately! We asked why? He said you pushed the hostess. I told him that is not what happened. I asked him to review the video to see what actually happened. He refused. Then he kicked me out as well. Said I was confrontational. He said we have 20min to pack and leave the property or he'll call the police. He followed us to our room and we had to leave the door open to pack our things. This happened at 9pm. He kicked two women out (early 50's and late 60's). We asked where to go, he said there are 300 resorts. Pick one. I cannot believe how we were treated. He would not even listen to our side of the story or review the video to see what exactly happened and how the hostess made up a HUGE lie. Worst place and staff ever. I will never go back and not recommend this place. They will treat you like crap!

They must have searched the world over for the most uncomfortable beach chairs and so many of them were broken. We did appreciate how quiet the resort was at night. We had the altitude room with a double bed. While the room itself was spacious, we had issues with the balcony door not closing fully letting bugs in, and the shower temperature shifting between too hot and too cold. The soap in the shower didn't foam up, and ran out quickly during our stay while housekeeping didn't refill it. Housekeeping also didn't replace our sheets and their timing in which they came in was rather inconsistent. There was also a moment in which someone tried to enter our room to inspect our safe for a request we did not put in, which raised our suspicions.

Desde que hize el checking no fueron serviciales ni amables los de recepción no mandaron a nadie para ayudarnos con las maletas querían que nosotros buscáramos ayuda con los que estaban ayudando con las maletas solo nos dijeron a donde ir que por sierro estaba complicado en vez de ellos llevarnos y ayudarnos con nuestro equipaje cuando entramos a el cuarto no había sillas en el balcón además nunca rellenaron el refrigerador de bebidas el último día ni tallas nos dieron teníamos reserva para un restaurante y nos la cancelaron en vez de mandarnos a otro que si estaba abierto pocos empleados eran amables la mayoría atendía como indiferencia o seriedad muy rara experiencia no regresaría a ese Kristal yo trate el de cabo y está 1000 veces mejor el ambiente también es súper aburrido me sentía como si no salí de USA yo fui a México a divertirme pero creo que me equivoqué de hotel

The location was perfect, the rooms were decent, the pool/beach was amazing. The service was exceptional! The turtle garden was a big highlight for my son. The only downside was the food - it was inconsistent in quality. You will never go hungry with all the options but I wish it was good everyday and not inconsistent in quality.

This is our first time staying at this Krystal Grand. We really enjoyed the adults pool, and the all ages pool was very nice as well. Service poolside was fantastic. All staff were friendly, remembered our names, etc. We really appreciate the care the staff and entertainment team took.

The infinity pool was a great touch, having a view of the ocean all day was amazing. The beaches in Nuevo were much better quality sand than PV. There were vendors that would approach but were respectful.

Our room was okay, I would rate this 3/5. Our bed was very firm and we asked for additional pillows which they were happy to provide. Our bathroom needed some maintenance but all minor issues. When we spoke to the front desk they were going to look into it.

When we arrived, we got upgrade from a double to a king. And pushed to the tenth floor which was fantastic views. I think this was the best part of our experience.

The location of the resort is great - not far from PV, walking distance to Bucerías or a short cab, and Sayulita.

Recommend this resort for sure. A few minor fixes such as maintenance or improved bed quality. But the location, pool, staff and the upgrade made this stay fantastic.

had to ask several times for facecloths and water and pop...would not give me club soda...I hate pepsi... theres no coke ..room way too far from adult pool and beach...room was only VERY basically cleaned ...biggest thing ... way too many people and not enough real estate to allow comfortable seating at adults only pool!!! People were putting their towels down and reserving loungers at 2:00 in the morning!! It was always the same people that had the premium chairs! I get it ....the early bird gets the worm... and this is a problem at almost all resorts .but when you're room is so far from pool its pretty hard to get a decent chair... I'm there on holidays...I don't wanna get up in the middle of the night to reserve a chair.... by the time I get back to my room I'm totally awake! At 2/3/4 in the morning!!!!!Also caught on camera was people going down and moving other peoples stuff after they claimed their chairs and security did nothing about it despite having surveillance video.... Music was WAY TOO LOUD!!! If you are sitting in pool area hopefully you have earplugs cause seriously it was rattling my brain!!!! I love music and the music that was played was very good but WAY to loud and they kept turning it up Some people are there for rest relaxation and quietness! All the food was very tastey... that was good ...Did get quite sick ... sure it was food bourne illness ....never had that before in Mexico.. but its bound happen with so many people....Anyway...keep working on it!

I really want to give the hotel 4 stars because the staff were amazing and they alone would have increased this rating. I don’t usually give feedback but if you are thinking about staying here there are a couple of things that should mentioned. The AC may need to be cleaned out as our room had a peculiar smell and I had problems with my sinuses, perhaps to do with this? There was no entertainment at night and if we went for dinner too early, it was one long night. There is no lounge area that accommodates many people. There is a sports bar however has little seating and the same goes for the Sky bar which is overrated. The lobby lounge has a very small bar and again hardly any seats available. If the price is right for you and you have a family, there did appear to be a great sized family pool and some entertainment during the day. The hotel is situated in a good location to jump in a taxi and head off to Puerto Vallarta for the day and has plenty of seating on the beach.

I didn’t love the cut-throat chair reservations at 6am, also the buffet was good but not good enough to make up for restaurant reservations to be booked out 48 hours, I did like that there were bars that stayed open late but the swimming pools closed way too early. I think they closed at like 7:00, they would try to make up for it with events that were wildly underwhelming. VERY LIMITED room service menu, it was like 5 items and a surcharge. The beach 5/5 stars, perfect sand, perfect surf, perfect weather, no riptide. There were several vendors but I like vendors, they had boogie boards to rent and tumblers for purchase, EVERYTHING you need and a bunch of stuff you don’t need too. Staff was friendly, drinks were good, if you put 100k into that roof bar you could get another star easy…

The room wasn’t as we had expected close to the water or with a good ocean view. It might have been better if we’d had a room on a higher floor. It also didn’t have bathrobes, slippers or beach towels and in the bathroom the body lotion dispenser was constantly leaking.
It was also difficult to get a spot on the beach loungers as some guests ‘reserved’ them with towels early in the morning but didn’t use them till much later in the day. It would be good for the hotel to have some policy around that.

It is a really nice resort. the food is very good, the room was very nice, staff were friendly and it’s right on the beach where you can walk for miles. Not a lot in the way of big entertainment-it’s very low key, but that suited us fine. If you are looking for a lot of nightlife, shops, etc, it’s better to stay closer to PV, but we really enjoyed the quiet. We walked into Bucerías on a nice path, rented bikes (extra cost but right on the property) and met a lot of nice people. We had the altitude club, building 4 9th floor. there are 4 rooms on that floor that have a solid wall on the balcony, so you can’t see the ocean when you are sitting. ( 4914, 4915 4916 for sure.) We asked to move, but they were full, so we saw the lovely view only when standing. they should get high stools, and that would make those rooms just as good. 10th floor is the best I think. Beds were comfortable. Housekeeping was inconsistent, one day they came in twice, the next not at all, but we didn’t need much and they had a lot of rooms to cover. Even though they were full, it never felt crowded anywhere and we always had a nice table. We really enjoyed our stay here, and were sad to leave!

The room was clean, Oxxo was just walking distance from the property. Oscar and Fatima in the grill restaurant were amazing but we did encounter a very rude staff member at the Ayami restaurant -the hosts, we had a 9pm dinner reservation arrived at 9:06pm and we waited for someone to greet us and when she did she mentioned how we were late and can no longer seat us. My husband exchanged a few words with her and another staff member mentioned how there were plenty of tables available so it wasn’t a big deal. The host kept arguing back with the other staff member so we just left and ask for a table at the grill restaurant, which by the way it the host gave

The first room we were in had a problem with the draining of the sink. They attended to the problem and moved us to another room. I was impressed with the way they handled the issue. We were treated extremely well and I would recommend this resort. The buffet and restaurants were very good and the staff was attentive and kind. I would recommend this resort to family and friends.

Had a great stay with our kids and their spouses for a family trip of 6 that they also enjoyed. Food was great both in the buffet and restaurants. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Pool is great with swim up bar and awesome bartenders. Beach is great with some shade provided with umbrellas. Just have to get up early to reserve a chair by the pool or the beach. This was the second trip for my wife and I and will be back again. Stayed in the Junior suite with ocean view. Highly recommend.

The issue we had was not being able to get a chair by the adult pool ( or on the beachfront) . We were told no reservations for the lounge chairs. The pool concierges were great and found us chairs for 2 days and we found chairs for 3 days. So for 14 days we could only get chairs for 5 of those days. We paid a great dollar for two weeks and expected better treatment. If you say no lounge chair reservations, it should be enforced with a system in place to watch over this situation. It would alleviate a lot of the frustration.

We just did a week at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta, and we loved it. Our group included my wife and our three kids (7-12), our friends: a couple with two kids (5-10), and my dad and his partner (both in their mid-70s). The resort layout, the food, the beach, the staff, and the price point are what will bring us back.
Gold (Expedia) wristbands: My most significant takeaway after arriving was that because we booked through Expedia, we received gold wristbands, which got us (from what I can tell) the same practical benefits as Altitude members, despite that we had booked a basic family room. We got private check-in in the Altitude lounge (no lineup at front desk), 24/7 access to said lounge, and our luggage delivered/retrieved from the lobby to our rooms when we needed it. We also were able to get reservations at the a la carte restaurants for every night except the last one, which was fine with us.
The staff were attentive, friendly, and had good English. Our room had a couple of minor issues that were remedied in short order. The shower drain needed to be unclogged, maintenance guy showed up in less than an hour. When we asked chairs for our ground floor patio, they were delivered quickly, as was a rollaway bed for our biggest kid. One room-related issue (which is a super minor one) was that we didn’t have a clothesline to dry wet swimsuits in the shower.
In summary, we had an excellent trip at this resort, and we wish we could have stayed for longer. We will be back!

If you like quality and comfort, do not come here. The staff is friendly and willing to serve you, but there is only so much they can achieve. The hotel puts out just enough effort to get by. Starting with the bathroom. The shampoo, conditioner, body soap and lotion should have a warning label. It burned my eyes. The bed, bring your own pillows. The mattresses are hard. Bed covering are old. The couch says don’t sit here. The rooms are not comfortable or welcoming. This place is a retirement hotel. Restaurants. Food is okay. Not many options. Very limited as well as snacks. The drinks have an aftertaste. The furniture in restaurants and beach are so outdated. Let’s say you need to make reservations for dinner way in advance. That’s if you are able to reserve. (You will be stuck at buffet). Oh and at the beach, rise with the sun to get your lounge chair. Like I said the staff is very willing. The spa was nice thanks to the staff. Bring your own nail polish. I tried leaving early but Krystal refused to work with Expedia. Oh. Try buying the black bracelet. With black bracelet you can get drinks with no after taste. They have about 5 different colored bracelets. It’s just a hot cheap mess.

No wifi in our room at all which was unfortunate as the only time we were interested in catching up on emails etc was just before bed. We aren’t interested in spending time on our phones during the day when we’re enjoying vacation.

The food was average- we found something to eat everyday so can’t complain there.

Our air conditioner stopped working at one point but they did promptly fix it.

We paid extra for “elite” status or whatever they call it and bell boys didn’t even offer to take our luggage to our room on check in or pick it up on check out which is usually standard at most resorts.

The resort doesn’t enforce rules about reserving sun loungers so there were tons of people reserving their chairs the night before and therefore no chairs to be found by the pool or beach unless you were down there at 0500H to reserve. When we brought this up with the pool boys they didn’t seem to do much about it.

Overall it was an okay vacation but I can’t say I’ll be back.

I do want to give a strong commendation to a few servers who went above and beyond to make our experience great. Thank you to Luisx2 (restaurant and bar), Gustavo, Ignacio, and Alejandro for your exceptional service.

The overall layout was very inconvenient. Upon our arrival we were near both a regular front desk, and a VIP desk? We were told by a bellman to follow him around the building and a elevator ride down a floor and then back to the center of the building to another “special” check- in office. A lot of walking for seniors at the end of a long travel day. Every day involved long walks to get anywhere, to and from the beach, or any of the restaurants and back to our room was exhausting. Food was ok but not up to par with many other Puerto/Nuevo Vallarta resorts we have stayed at.

We had a great stay at this beachfront resort in Mexico. The property itself was amazing and very family-friendly. The kids absolutely loved it—especially spending time on the beach and playing beach volleyball. The sand and overall beach setup were excellent.

The service was unbelievable. The waiters were always nearby, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable at all times.

The only downside was that it could be difficult to find lounging chairs and umbrellas, as people would place towels on them early and not return for long periods. The staff members, would help find a lounger and set up an umbrella, which made a big difference.

Overall, a wonderful family vacation and a resort we would definitely consider returning to.

We just returned home from our trip where we stayed 9 nights at the Krystal Grand in Nuevo. The resort was far too noisy and busy for our liking. More attention needs to be given to the music being played by the pools. Many people are there to relax and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing - so the music should reflect that relaxing vibe. The techno pop music booming was downright annoying. The WIFI throughout the resort is very spotty and unsatisfactory. On a positive note - the food and service at the a la carte restaurants was very good. We will be looking for a quieter resort next time.

When we first arrived we were very much dissatisfied with the room as it was nothing like what was pictured. It was small, dark, dingy and out of the way. I advised my Expedia online travel agent and they did nothing for me. I contacted the altitude rep who with 2 days upgraded our room to king ocean view with balcony. So much nicer. The staff was amazing from beginning to end! Louis and Omar are the bartenders for all your drink preferences. Josefine (spelling?) was the best for concierge, bookings etc. Sky bar is a bit lack lustre. The little pool in there and surrounding deck is need of upgrades. Same with the tall chairs and tables. It is a great space but could do better. Biggest complaint is chairs….. you can not get one around the pools or beach without joining the “entitled” people and setting your alarm at 4:30am to put a beach towel/sandal or hat to reserve a spot. The adult infinity pool had great views of the ocean. Buffet was excellent with a huge variety of foods and kept with refilling. Fresh and yummy. Love the walk ability to Bucerias on the Yellow brick road but just watch no lighting at night so bring a charged cell phone or you can choose to walk the beach to Bucerias. Lighting at night also an issue there.

Always felt safe. Had an issue at the resort with a lady trying to jump off the 9th floor but the hotel security handled the situation quickly, and efficiently. Overall it was a great experience. Many beach activities nearby, resort activities too.

The property is beautiful, and the beach was absolutely the highlight of our stay.

The resort itself is on the smaller side, with fewer restaurant options than other resorts we’ve stayed at. The food was generally fine, but nothing memorable. Booking à la carte restaurants through the app was frustrating, although the concierge was helpful once we raised the issue.

We travelled with three kids (teens/tweens) and were disappointed with the activity offerings. Activities often alternated between the family pool and adults-only areas, which limited what the kids could participate in. We were especially disappointed that the foam party was adults-only. Our kids have loved the activities at other resorts, and this was a deal breaker for us. This resort wasn’t the right fit for our family, and I wouldn’t recommend it for families with older kids.

Pool chair availability was another challenge, with many guests reserving spots extremely early in the morning.

Staff were friendly and hardworking throughout, though they often seemed understaffed.

One standout was the New Year’s Eve party, which was excellent and had the best food of our stay.

Rooms are bit worn but very useable
Overall we had three generations and all of us enjoyed it. Staff is great too. If you have little kids may want life jacket as pool was 3”9 deep but they have lots of shelves.

For some reason, we only got two days of housekeeping service. Odd.. COULD NOT find a chair on pool or beach for 4 days. You allow people to hold chairs at 4am. Not fair. COULD NOT get reservations for dinner??? WE WERE ON OUR HONEYMOON…. Concierge was amazing and tried his best. Overbooked and not fair to new guests.
I would like a possible do over with a few nights on you for the inconvenience etc. I did complain a lot but none could help. If we can come back and get a few nights on you we will pay for the other nights and try again?

Beautiful resort, absolutely loved the infinity pool. The buffet food was very good as well! We cancelled our dinner reservations pretty much every day because we wanted to stay in the pool for as long as possible and we absolutely didn’t mind the buffet.
My only mild disappointment was the beds. Double beds are just a bit small for 2 grown adults. There is an option for 1 king bed but there was 3 of us. Need options for 2 queens in 1 room. Also I think the beds itself were a bit old.
Other than that, everything else was great! And we would definitely return!

The evening entertainment could be improved. Mostly just loud music dance parties, very little creativity. Lobby chairs need replacing.
Food was great and the à la carte restaurants we visited were well done.
Lunch was the same each day…a healthier option would have been nice.

What a great place to stay, everyone we met were great, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, will to help. The rooms were spotless, very clean, food at the buffet was always great, the specialty dining was also great. Wonderful beach access. My suggestion is to visit the Sky Bar, Manuel was the best bartender.

No separate elevator for workers!
The number of workers around the swimming pool was very low!
No chips and guacamole in snack bars! Are you kidding me?!
No body shampoo in the bathroom!
Wasted 90 minutes in the 2nd day in the line to book dinner restaurants. Only one receptionist that took 15 minutes per guest to do the reservation!
