We stayed with our two young children and can’t wait to return. The staff are exceptional and the food was excellent. The rooms are spacious and the mattresses are very comfortable. Highly recommend!

To add to an earlier review. The resort itself is beautiful, the staff is fantastic. The food is great at the restaurants a the Buffet offers lots of variety. The rooms are recently renovated large and airy.

My only hesitation would be to come to this resort around school holidays. :-)

This will have been our 4th visit to this resort in 3 years. We decided to bring our two teenage girls with us to introduce them to this special resort. We came over the family day/ presidents day holiday - what a mistake. I realize this is a family resort but, over this period it was taken over by small children and their parents who pay no attention to them.

There are 3 pools. The one closest to the beach has a swim up BAR. Does this seem like the appropriate spot for kids to be swimming? There are two other pools where there is a kids club etc. you would think the hotel /parents would keep the small children away from the BAR.

Apparently, you can pre book your reservations at the restaurants- I suggest you do this or you will be eating at 9pm or at one of the two least popular ( for good reason) restaurants. You need to email [email protected].

Before the onslaught of screaming children we were subjected to a bunch of drunk pp attending a conference. Apparently, this resort hosts a ton of conferences between January - April. Be aware.

The rooms have all been renovated and are quite nice. The food was ok, not as good as we have had in the past. The staff is incredible- this was always a reason to come back and told many of our friends about this place but, sadly I’m not sure we will return.

I understand that we were all kids at some point but, when my kids were little I respected the adults around us and adults space around them.

We fell in love! This is our first time with the Grand Velas brand. We normally stay with the impressions side of secrets but I’m glad we decided to try this resort. It has literally ruined it for us and we can’t see ourselves going to another brand. The service, food and cleanliness is at a meticulous level. We went for 6 days 4 nights. We never had a bad drink or bad food.
Everything was absolutely fabulous. Kenia and Patricia on the adults side of the pool are amazing. Omar and Jose Jairo fantastic bartenders with amazing personalities. We enjoying sitting at the swim up talking to them all afternoon. While at the pool we did notice a few guests being rude to the bartenders and snatching bottles of their hands. I hope this is something that doesn’t happen often
At the French restaurant where we had dinner twice, Daniel and Angel went above and beyond for us. Extremely kind and knowledgeable, giving great suggestions. I really liked that the manager for the French restaurant runs a strict ship there because everything runs soo smoothly. He also kept checking on us to make sure we were satisfied with everything.
The housekeeper for our room and turn down service did a wonderful job each time. Every single employee there is friendly, amazing and sooo hardworking. The hotel is impeccable! We truly were blown away and can’t wait to come back.

Definitely paid a premium. But they definitely made it worth it. There was someone constantly asking us if we needed something. Drinks were a little weak, Restaurant reservation was a bit annoying, but they did reach out to you to make sure you have a reservation. Definitely get what you paid for type of experience. We would stay here again for sure. Family of four, two kids under 10, we stayed a week before Thanksgiving and felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

This property is beautiful. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Our room was great and the bed very comfortable. The pool area is great! The spa was my favorite…the whole experience from beginning to end was fantastic…I’d highly recommend Shanti for your massage. The food was delicious. It was fun seeing all the iguanas. The only bummer was they were doing some work on the property so strong paint odors and drilling noise but, it is the off season so I figured.

The hospitality of the Grand Velas staff truly surprised me – everyone was so genuinely kind, caring, and helpful. I have to give a major shout-out to Luis, our concierge. He was phenomenal, handling every detail effortlessly. He even booked restaurants with the best views before we even thought to ask, managed all our last-minute changes, and ensured our airport transportation was perfectly set. For anyone traveling to Mexico, if you have the opportunity, staying at Grand Velas is an absolute must; it's undeniably the best all-inclusive resort.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We had come 10 years prior and had a great experience. The staff was still very nice and attentive. The resort was well kept and everything was ok until the last night. We had enjoyed eating at Azul for breakfasts and lunches and Frida and Lucca for dinners. We really loved Lucca.

The final night on July 18 we went to try the french restaurant Piaf. The food was not good. My daughter ordered a beef tenderloin and the meet was so hard she couldn’t even cut it. Nothing tender about it. My husband left quickly in the middle of the meal and got sick. The next morning we all had stomach aches. My daughter was sick on the flight back home and still trying to recover. We all got food poisoning. I would suggest staying away from this restaurant. The ambiance was also super serious and unfriendly. There were maybe two other tables and the rest was empty. The waiter was pushy and brought me an ipad to leave a review. At that point I left a good review as I was rushed and was trying to be nice. I am taking back now. And bringing an ipad to the table is rude. I hope they change their practices there so no one else gets sick. Other than that everything was good but the food poisoning ruined our trip.

From the moment you arrive at the hotel reception, the entire staff is ready to make you feel at home. Salvador, one of the concierges, explains in detail how the hotel operates. It has four exquisite themed restaurants, the service is impeccable, and the food is exquisite. Francisco Villa, the assistant food and beverage manager, is a wonderful person, friendly, and very professional. The team at the adult pool bar—Jose, Valentin, Patricia, Freddy, and Gilberto—are the best in their profession. This hotel is all-inclusive, with first-class food, as are the wines and spirits they offer, the cocktails are wonderful, and the spa is fantastic. This is a unique experience of very high quality and excellent service. The rooms are modern and spotless, and the Azul restaurant, which serves Mexican cuisine for all day dining, offers an incredible variety. I highly recommend it!

This was our second time staying at a Grand Velas resort—our first being at Riviera Maya—and once again, the experience was outstanding. The Riviera Nayarit location offered everything we expected from Grand Velas: top-notch service, immaculate rooms, excellent food, and a truly beautiful resort atmosphere. The concierge service was attentive, and room service and cleaning staff exceeded expectations.

Compared to the Riviera Maya property, there were slightly fewer restaurant options, but the quality of the dining experiences remained very high.

The only downside of our trip was the private Suburban round-trip transfer arranged through the resort, which cost $245 USD. The ride from the airport to the resort was excellent—the driver was friendly, professional, and offered the promised drinks. However, the return trip to the airport was a stark contrast. The driver was visibly irritated, swore while handling our luggage, didn’t offer any drinks, and was dismissive when tipped. He even laughed when I handed him a small tip, which was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing, especially considering the premium price paid for the service.

Overall, our stay at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit was exceptional, and we would definitely return. Just be cautious when booking private transportation through the resort—it might not always match the resort’s high standards.

Great All-inclusive resort. Top notch service, great food! Second time at a GV. Tried the Riviera Maya prior, and Riviera Nayarit this time. Both great experiences. The resorts are very similar, in the layout of the buildings and the same restaurants. RM is much bigger property compared to RN, but the service and food were top notch at both.
The staff at Riviera Nayarit are what makes this resort great. Never waited more than 5 minutes for the pool/beach drink service. And this was Easter week, and the hotel was busy. Same goes for the buffet and other restaurants staff.
Will try the one Cabo next.

Beautiful, tasteful and welcoming as soon as we arrived. Greeted with a “welcome neck massage” in the lobby! The staff could not have been nicer throughout our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable and stocked well. The pool and beach were clean and the service was amazing… Gustavo was our favorite…. So friendly and great at his job!
Food was very good…. Had such an amazing meal at Frida (Mexican Restaurant) that we went back the next evening! Diego was an amazing waiter!
Our concierge, Maria, was very helpful and accessible.
Loved the koi ponds! Enjoyed feeding the fish!
Overall a perfect vacation. Been wanting to stay at Grand Velas and if met and exceeded expectations! Will definitely return!

More expensive then the average all inclusive but was well worth the money.
All the staff were super helpful and accommodating from our concierge Luis to the poolside servers Zenon and Lionel. Beds were super comfortable with a large selection of pillows to choose from.
Our 5 year old daughter loved going to the kids club for crafts in the morning.
And the food was amazing.

This is the nicest all inclusive we have ever experienced. It was my husband’s 50th birthday and we were upgraded to a beautiful remodeled room on the oceanfront. The service and attention to detail from the staff is superb. A special thank you to our personal concierge Ramon, our pool concierge, Raymundo, and our pool servers, Leonel, Enrique, & Miguel. They were all so wonderful and made us feel very special!!

One of the things we really appreciated is that there was not up-charging for food or beverages that we have encountered at other all-inclusive properties. Everything is included unless you want uber fancy bottles of liquor or wine at dinner. The food is AMAZING and many top shelf drinks to choose from. You feel like you are definitely getting what you paid for. While it is more expensive than some other resorts in the area I would say that it is well worth it. Tip well, they deserve it!

Amazing! The food and service here is unequalled. The buffet had short rib, giant prawns, raw oysters, in addition to Mexican classics. We had a personal contact with Perla who checked in and provided the daily activities on the resort and made us reservations at the spa. The service at dinner at the 4 restaurants was like the service you expect at Michelin restaurants in North America or Europe. The food at dinner was wow! Get ready to put on weight if you have as little self control as me😂

The food was exceptional, rooms were immaculately clean, the staff incredibly accommodating, and the scenic views breathtaking. This hotel with all it has to offer has restored our faith in five-star quality and what it means to go above and beyond in terms of caliber.

Our little girl didn’t want to leave! Carlos, Mariano and the Kids Club staff provided more entertainment and days filled with activities and fun than we had anticipated. There was never a shortage of things to do and something for everyone, even those who like myself care to have a break with just a good book and cocktail in hand.

The people here always greeted you with a smile and would go out of their way to make sure you were enjoying yourselves in the most genuine of ways. The concierge service were very attentive and made sure your meals were all planned in advance so you weren’t ever waiting for a table.

We don’t come across a hotel we’d visit twice often. It’s actually a rarity for us, but we’d definitely make an exception for Grand Velas.

The staff members were so helpful and cordial. It was a mom and daughter trip and they made our stay feel unbelievably special. The restaurants are top notch and the food is amazing! If I could I would always bring my family here. The only thing is… nothing against the hotel, but if you are a family that has small children… be mindful of others please and don’t act as if your kids and you own the restaurant. Be respectful of others and keep your kids iPads at no volume. I don’t understand the reason of bringing your small kids if they won’t be part of the family dinner conversation or be there to observe and feel part of quality time.

This resort was amazing. It has 3 beautiful swimming pools right by the beach. The room was large and spacious. The activities were great as well. Beach volleyball with Carlos and Sherry was awesome ! The whole family also enjoyed the water aerobics, yoga and Pilates! We highly recommend it. It costs a pretty penny, but it’s so worth it. And to top it up, they had an amazing kids club, where our 7 year old spend a good amount of time (at his request) - and it was not all video games and screen time. The dining options were great as well. By far, our favorite was the Mexican restaurant, Frida.

The resort is beautiful and well laid out with 4 different restaurants. All of the restaurants are nice and have their own vibes. Lucca was our favourite, the truffle mushroom soup is amazing. Checking in with Mario was easy and efficient. He gives you his number so staying in contact with him is very easy. Djego services the pool area and works really hard all day bringing food and drinks. Carlos at beach volleyball was fun to play with. All the hostess ladies at restaurants and the main buffet area were very sweet. Spyder, the magician, is fun to watch and you can find him roaming around the resort. We tried to tip as many people as we could and even the smallest amounts were well received, even the smallest of amounts. Overall, you won’t be disappointed. All of the rooms are nice and spacious they are cleaned well 2x a day. Everyone on the resort is kind and thoughtful, the spa was great, the service and performances were solid.

Some things that could have made the experience better- more Spanish/local music. We understand the resort caters to Americans but hearing different covers of the same American songs does not let the beautiful Mexican culture come through. We wanted to immerse ourselves more in the culture. It would be nice if there was more shaded coverage at peak sun hours instead of just umbrellas by the pool (could use more of these). Nice property on a long walkable beach. Enjoyed complimentary cabanas on the beach and choices of included wines for dinner. For the price point, to be comparable with other top resorts like Le Blanc, Secrets and Excellence, should have included lobster, oysters and more seafood variety in the menu besides included hydrotherapy in the spa, which was only free with a massage. Italian restaurant had no upscale dishes and it appeared to cater more for families with kids.
