Lovely resort, away from the craziness that can be PVR!
Beautiful suite, next time I’d book something smaller just for me. Several options for dining, however I found the buffet and room service food disappointing - the service was impeccable always.
The more formal option dining room “Andrea” did provide beautiful options all day and interesting theme nights. I can still taste a pasta dish with lamb on Sicilian Night!!

This place was extremely clean, staff was laid back and so friendly, my small kids (5,6, &8) had a blast at the kids club which was very small and low key, but attentive and so fun for them.
My favorite thing about this place is that everything is actually included.. no hidden fees. Good drinks. No surprises. Excellent food, excellent service. Our servers, Cristina and Edwin, as well as the management in the restaurant (Ribera) were so awesome.

If you’re looking for a club/party atmosphere.. this is not it. But a relaxing family friendly vacation, YES!

My only concern is the food. Food is unflavored. The only food I found with flavor it was toasted tomato sauce, omelettes, a seafood soup and one day the oriental food, the following day it was not properly cooked.

The resort is very kid friendly with plenty of activities for them. The food was good but the menu needs updating. Very clean and comfortable beds. The pool areas are kept very clean and beautiful. I would go and stay at this resort again.

My family and I had a great time staying at Velas Vallarta. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The staff is excellent. So helpful and nice. There were plenty of activities to participate throughout the week. The food was good but not great. The beach was a bit disappointing due to the rocks, but the covered lounge chairs were comfortable. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was spacious and clean. The only negative thing about the room were the beds. The King size bed mattress was uncomfortable and the sofa bed was very hard. But overall we enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay here again.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The staff very responsive and helpful. Service is good. Property is clean. Facility has two restaurants. That could be little boring but one Resturant has different type of food each night. The activities at night are ok but could improve. The food quality can be better but acceptable. Starting in the morning with a beautiful fresh tropical, breakfast buffet, and then moving to the pool/ocean chairs for the day, which were very very comfortable, the staff was always attentive to our needs, where we would order multiple drinks and lunch poolside, I highly recommend the shrimp cocktail!!! each night was a different theme and we enjoyed every single one of them. We love the mariachi band that was there twice while we were there and to top it all off the tropical animals that roamed the property were always so fun to watch even the little stray kitty cats kept the kids entertained. The only thing that I would suggest is a coffee stand for us night owl an early risers, they do make the best cappuccino’s and lattes!!

Spent 4 nights, 5 days with my husband and two tween/teen sons. We loved the pools, the rooms, the beds/pillows, the staff was amazing, the drinks, and the kids loved the pool side food (wings, chicken strips, pizza, burgers). As far as the rest of the menu, breakfast was decent, but dinner was lacking in my opinion. The reservation only dinner option (Andreas) doesn't know how to season meat, fish, etc properly. The flavor was sorely lacking. On Asian night, they put orange sauce on EVERYTHING (ahi tuna, grilled white fish, Coconut shrimp, and Short Ribs, and mixed just soy sauce into their noodles). Even though the steaks at the other restaurant were cooked perfectly, there was no steak seasoning. Only salt and pepper... our family prefers a bit more culinary art. We would most likely come back as the majority of the experience was excellent, but for this price point, I would expect a higher caliber of skill in the kitchens.

This was our first time at Velas Vallarta. We have stayed at other similar resorts in different parts of Mexico over the last few years hands-down our family agreed this was the best resort yet we upgraded to a three bedroom family suite for a very reasonable cost upon check-in. The staff were all fantastic. The room was spotless and well appointed. The pool area was also spotless with nice furniture and more than adequate towels and service. I had read a number of reviews about the food prior to going. There are two restaurants included in the all-inclusive. We ate at both of them. The buffet food is average. It is not bad at all, there are simply limited selections, but there is fresh fruit, salads, and other good food available. The à la carte options are excellent and you can order off the menu anytime of day. We had incredible à la carte, breakfast, lunches, and dinners. Some highlights were short rib, tacos, and fresh fish tacos, ribeye steaks in the evening as well as pork back ribs, and seafood gumbo.

Of all of the resorts we have stayed at our family, agrees that we want to come back to this one, the overall experience, the friendliness of the staff, and the general vibe of the place are special.

The grounds are spotless and incredible, there are Koi fish rivers scattered throughout, and you can feed the fish with food purchased from the shop. The plants are beautiful and well tended. The three pools are fantastic and clean and connected via a lazy river.

The staff is very attentive. I was asked if I had everything I needed multiple times throughout my stay. Very family friendly and only a 18 minute walk from a little marina if you want to try different restaurants or go on a stroll outside of the resort.

I will say it’s a little annoying that guests place towels on pool chairs as early as 7am to ‘hold’ them even though they’re not using them. By 9am, every pool chair is pretty much taken.

I’ve been to many hotels in Mexico, The velas did not disappoint. As far as the resort I would go back every year. We went as a family with about 10kids total, this is a definitely older crowd who gave the kids crusties when they splash them with a ball or screamed too loud. There were a few families and the family atmosphere is great! Very accommodating to large groups at dinner and always taking care of us.

Pros: close to airport, airport shuttle service was very fast and Efficient, beautiful grounds with lush palm trees and a very nice pool

Cons: service is very slow which is a little annoying but I can understand with so many guests. What is not okay is that when you go ask for something the waiter gets annoyed or upset! This really made us feel unguarded the hotel. I can see you’re busy, but when 20 minutes goes by and we haven’t even ordered, I’m going to ask if we can get some service. What else are we supposed to do?
I voiced this concern and the manger found me to apologize which I appreciated. He said it wasn’t normal and maybe we were just there during a bad week. But it’s definitely a three star hotel at best

The first room we were given had a horrible smell but they were very accommodating to get us another room which was good.
Service was not as on top of things as in the past. Appeared to be understaffed. Ordered items at meals that just never came.
Had a difficult time getting into restaurants for dinner and when we were finally seated they were out of some foods. This should not be happening.

Paid for all inclusive x2. Waiters and waitresses were very nice and with excellent etiquette, nice beachfront. Of note had $20 USD stolen from room (taken from $100 pile on top of my passport) at night. My fiance and I knew something was up when they did room cleaning both in AM and at night ~8 PM when we were out at dinner. Clearly can't trust all the cleaning staff

Overall cheap stay and very affordable, but not worth what is paid. Food was hit or miss depending on night, they really do try their best and have to commend all the waiters/cooks

I was hesitant to stay at an all-inclusive resort, but was pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty and the pool drink staff were very attentive. For the most part kids stayed in the kid pool so the adult pool was very relaxing.

My room was modern and very clean. My only complaint is that a lot of the noise from foot traffic kept me awake a couple of nights

Absolute gem of a resort. Have a family of 6 not wanting to leave.
The pool is amazing, the fish and gardens around the resort are gorgeous and very entertaining for our fish loving boys. The beach and ocean are great.

The only different thing I didn’t love at first was that there is no main big buffet, but after a couple days we learned our way around the menu for the kids and then we didn’t miss it at all.

Most meals we got were made to order, hot and fresh. Breakfast waffles, French toast, and burritos were so good.

All of the staff was OUTSTANDING, so pleasant and fun.

We really hope to come back!! Thank you for an amazing trip

This resort was a great value for an all-inclusive. Our one-bedroom suite was roomy and comfortable, the pool area was nice, and we never had trouble finding good food at the restaurants. The crepe station was delicious and a favorite stop for us. Would definitely consider staying again

The staff, the property, the rooms were amazing. Special mention for pool waiter “Roger” ,( Rogelio), who was always smiling and happy to be of service. Special mention also of Ivan, the desk clerk, Jose the bellman as well as the rest of the bellman and staff. Housekeeping, groundskeeping staff all worked hard to maintain the beautiful property. We had an enjoyable, safe and fun vacation with 4 generations in our family. The staff at Andrea’s went above and beyond to help us mark the special occasion of four generations and my granddaughter’s birthday. The nightly shows were a plus as well and we enjoyed them immensely.

Had an exceptional experience. This was our most relaxing vacation to date. Kids club was excellent with a whole day of scheduled activities- tennis lessons, arts and crafts, movies with popcorn, Disney inspired daily performances, board games, video games. The teachers made all kids feel included. All hotel staff was so kind and just seemed happy to work here. No birds or bugs to bother you because of the resident hawk on property. The adult schedule included beach volleyball, water aerobics, ping pong, yoga. We even played tennis and tried pickleball. Nightly performances in the evening- casino and karaoke, dance performances, mime show, acrobatics show. All female Mariachi band nightly at dinner. Shout out to our man Alberto who made our daily breakfast a lovely experience. We had an amazing time and will be back!

This is a nice property in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. The resort is very clean, the pools are large, and while the beach is rocky, the pools are a great place to spend the day. There are only two restaurants, but the menus rotate daily with different themes (Italian, Mexican, Asian, etc.), and the quality was better than most all-inclusives. The Marina location is also a plus, with plenty of walkable restaurants and bars if you prefer dining off-property.

Room choice matters a lot here. Do not book a Studio—upgrade to a one-bedroom Suite. The difference is significant: nearly twice the size, plus a balcony and a view. The Studio is okay size, but it feels claustrophobic since the only window faces an interior hallway with constant foot traffic.

I would not recommend this property for couples, especially during peak periods. I visited between Christmas and New Year’s, and the hotel was nearly full, with many multi-generation families and young children (babies and toddlers). The gym was often overcrowded, and it was difficult to find shaded pool loungers. It’s a great option for families with kids, but it didn’t feel well-suited for a couples’ getaway. I’d also skip the spa—it’s fine, but extremely overpriced for what you get.

Poolside service of food and drink was remarkable. With only 2 restaurants, food choice was limited. Located close to the airport which is great if anyone wants to avoid traffic to and from the airport.

The rooms were a good size and comfortable overall, though the sofa and bed could have been cleaner. The staff was courteous and very helpful throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated. However, the dining options for vegetarians were limited, with the same vegetarian menu offered every day. Adding more game options for kids, such as a pool table or foosball table, would be a great plus. With more variety in dining, improved room cleanliness, and additional kids’ activities, the experience could be even better.
