The food was terrible in the buffet however the Al a carts were good. The resorts over sells day passes which makes it way to busy and not easy to get chairs. The birds at this resort are absolutely insane and all over the food even in the buffet. Overall I would not recommend this resort.

Catalina provided for me best massages I've ever had on the beach highly recommend having an appointment with her whether it's in the spa or in the gazebo in the open she'll take you to dreamland and take out all the kinks.

If you’re looking for clean, updated rooms with sufficient A/C this isn’t for you. If you’re hoping for a selection of brand liquor you’re not going to find that here. If you’re looking for an inclusive resort with good dining/eating options, again this resort probably isn’t for you. The buffet was one of the worst we’ve encountered and the à la carts weren’t any better. Booking the à la carts was a challenge. But, if you’re looking for a resort with different pool options, a GREAT beach, plenty of lounge chairs, mostly friendly and helpful staff, an amazing kids pool/activity area and doesn’t break the bank then this definitely a good option. Close to the airport, shopping and a short cab ride to the Malecon!

Ocean was not visible from our balcony, it looked into the staff parking lot and alley. The hotel is family friendly and attached to the adults only \"crown paradise golden club\". Very few staff speak english which was tough at times but google translate helped. The highlight of the property was the kids pool and splash/water park on location though it was in need of some minor updates. The room was clean but no \"special touches\" done to the room. Previous stays in other resorts we had little flowers or towel art done on our beds. The buffett was just \"okay\" and somewhat limited.

The resort does not look like the resort in pictures & the room I booked the honeymoon suite is not even close to the same room in the picture. Check in was horrible yes was covered but check in was outside I have never seen that before. Took about 45min to get checked in then staff sent us on our way to find our room with zero help. Room was dirty, smelled like feet, sink was cracked, faucet was loose you could spin it around, a booger on the wall, someone either threw up or threw a drink on the picture on the wall, looked like black mold on a light fixture, another fixture the plastic was burnt, toilet was so close to the wall my knees were against the wall & I got the room for the hot tub but was not even close to the picture and hot water did not work.
This is not a 3 or 3 1/2 star place it is really a Motel 6 resort. Breakfast took 45 min to sit down (staff did not seem to know what they were doing). There was only 2 of us plenty of 2 seats but staff kept focusing on large groups. I checked out after one night went to stay at another resort that's how bad it was. Yes bar tenders at night were great drinks the ocean but like i said got back to the room & hot tub had no hot water. Resort seemed to dismiss Expedia attempts to reimburse me for the 2 night we did not stay so I just disputed the charges on my credit card.

First of all this is a Members only hotel. If you are not a member you cannot eat at any of the restaurants that require a reservation. It says to reserve at 9:00 am with a QR code and every time we tried they were full. The service at the front desk was horrible. Only 1 person for a line full of people complaining about rooms and food. If you reserve through Expedia, they treat you differently and give you the worse rooms. The beds are hard as a rock and we also found roaches in the bathroom. Never again will I stay in this hotel. Worse experience in my life. The only thing my kids liked was the service at the kids club that’s it. DO NOT STAY HERE

The good: This is an amazing resort for young children with an excellent kids program and an extraordinary water park. The grounds are meticulously cared for, very clean and the staff is exceptional. They work hard and are polite and helpful.
Needs: Though the rooms are clean, they are very dated to the point of being shabby. Throughout the resort you can see peeling paint and missing roof tiles. We did see some painting being done.
Pools are nice but very busy. Though signs on the chairs say no reserving, people drape towels over chairs. This would be okay if it was one towel per chair, but there often was one towel claiming two or three chairs. So it seems like people claim chairs at both pool and beach this way. The beach is nice but very busy. Many locals also are using the beach which is okay except that we more than once noticed them using the chairs (not hotel patrons).
Overall our biggest complaint was the loudness of the music everywhere. The people that work there must be going deaf from the volume! There is no need for it to be so loud and it was difficult to get away from it and find a somewhat quieter space.

Our stay at Crown Paradise Club Puerto Vallarta was very disappointing from arrival onward. Our first room had visible black mold, broken air conditioning, cockroaches, several non-working lights, no safe, and an alley view. When we asked to be moved (not upgraded), staff told us we would have to pay. When we explained we were only asking for a habitable room, the staff member shook his head and walked away. Another staff member slid a key card across the counter and told us to “see if it was good enough.” The second room was at least safe, so we accepted it. Customer service throughout the stay was often rude and dismissive, with very limited English spoken. We were even told that unless you are clearly wearing Canadian apparel, guests are assumed to be American and not wanted. The beach is beautiful but overwhelmed by aggressive vendors (10–15 at all times). Security claimed they could not intervene unless touched, yet vendors later poked and prodded guests anyway. Sea-Doos repeatedly drove through the swimming area. When a guest with children asked one rider to move for safety, he yelled “Do you want me to get out of my own country?” and sped off dangerously close to swimmers. Restaurant reservations were nearly impossible, lines were long (40 minutes for buffet, 20 for bars), and billing issues occurred with room service charges being attempted twice.

Positives: Michael and one other staff member were excellent, Club Nitro shows were great, and early morning pool hours.

Older resort that needs some upkeep. Do not get a family room they all face into the city and our room smelt of mold. The pool were nice but had broken drains with pilots cover holes that could hurt someone. Alacarts were very difficult to get into but the food was very good if you did get in. The buffet at breakfast had huge lines and wait times. Buffet at lunch and supper lacked options, did not have a good selection of fresh or premiere ingredients. Utilized hot dogs as a substitute for too many things. Family atmosphere was the best part of the resort.

The first room we had we changed because it had an inch of standing water in the sink and the A/C wouldn't go below 79 degrees Farenheit. The handle to the shower door was broken as well as the soap holder in the shower too. They gave us an \"upgraded\" room and said they would give us a bed for our 3rd person. They NEVER gave us the bed, despite us asking THREE times! Also, ocean very DIRTY and rocky at this property.

From the minute we arrived we had issues. We were provided a room that was already occupied. Luckily the person in the room was not there otherwise we would have walked in on them. We booked two rooms and requested that they be near each other which was not the case. They got the rooms situated the next day however the AC was not working well in one of the rooms. Maintenance was notified but nothing was done. The rooms have limited outlets so it was disappointing when one of the outlets (the one by the nightstand) was missing and could not be used. No clear information was provided about the restaurant reservation system. The patio door does not lock, which is a safety concern. Even their manager recommended that a complaint be filed with Orbitz so that something can be done about all of the issues. The only good thing is that the property is near the airport.

Hotel Review: Disappointing Stay Despite Wonderful Staff
I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it did not meet expectations. The property itself is very outdated, and major issues impacted our stay. The biggest problem was the air-conditioning — it was not working in our room. After being switched to another room, and then yet another, the issue remained unresolved. In the heat, this made our stay uncomfortable and frustrating.
The food at the hotel was also a letdown. Most of it tasted old or stale, and the dining options lacked variety and freshness. The only place we truly enjoyed eating was the snack bar located outside by the beach — it was consistently good and offered a nice escape from the poor quality of the main restaurants.
On a positive note, the hotel staff was absolutely amazing. Despite being clearly understaffed, they worked hard to keep guests happy. When we arrived, only one receptionist was handling check-ins, and I noticed just a single lifeguard moving between multiple pools. The entertainment team also deserves special mention — they did an outstanding job organizing activities around the pool and hosting fun shows at the Nitro Club. The Fantasy Show for kids was a personal favorite.
While I truly appreciate the kindness and effort of the staff, the overall hotel conditions, poor food quality, and lack of basic amenities like functioning air-conditioning made this a disappointing experience. I would not stay here again.

I think for families visiting this property, the highlight is the water park and kids club. The kids show we attended was fun. Our room was clean and had a nice view. We were not greeted on arrival and our check in process was quick. The food is average. Probably would try another hotel next time we visit Puerto Vallarta.

The customer service was fantastic! From moment my son and I checked in to check out was great! Fidel at reception checked us in and when asked showed me and my son all around as it was our first time there. Dianna at front desk reception were extremely helpful! She made the reservations for us for 3/4 of nights we were there at the 3 restaurants as every morning the reservations were booked!
Sergio at the bar in lobby was amazing! He remembered what me and son liked everyday and was very kind to talk to! Christian at LaPalapa restaurant always made gluten free bread was there at our table at breakfast!

We’re both celiacs so I do wish we had more gluten free options! But overall was amazing stay. We took uber to Melican boardwalk amd was absolutely amazing walking along the boardwalk!

Extremely Disappointing Stay I Would Not Recommend.
We booked this hotel based on the pictures and descriptions, but our experience was nothing like what was advertised.
We arrived as a group of 10 (8 adults and 2 kids) with reservations for connecting rooms, only to be told at check-in that connecting rooms didn’t exist, even though they advertise them online. No one was there to greet us, and check-in took almost an hour. The rooms we were finally given weren’t fully clean, the bed sizes didn’t match what we booked, and both the air conditioning and water weren’t working. Management said nothing could be done until two days later.
As an “accommodation,” one couple in our group was moved to the adults-only section, but it only got worse. In their first new room, the air conditioning broke down. They were moved to a second room, where the restroom stopped working. They were then moved again, making it three room changes in a single day. Completely unacceptable.
After two nights in bad rooms, the rest of us were moved to a 3-room penthouse, forcing three families to share one space — not what we booked or expected for a vacation we looked forward to.
The dining experience was also disappointing. We made a reservation for 10 at the Italian restaurant, but they scheduled it for the wrong time and we lost our spot. The buffet food was low quality, poorly organized, and lacked variety.
On top of that, the pools were overcrowded, and child had an accident in the kids’ pool. 👎

🚫 Do not book at this hotel 🚫 go somewhere else... they charged me more than it was, my room was not ready and they didn't honor my partial sea view... the family rooms are small... we didn't last 2 hours there and left to another hotel... they only have two pools and there was a lot of people on them... a lot of bird poop everywhere... it was just horrible over all... the kids \"water park\" was closed and they didn't know until when it will be open again.. so disappointed glad I didn't stay even for one night...

It’s an old hotel, the food from the restaurants is good but the one from the buffet was very bad.
Also, keep in mind this is a wedding hotel so we got kicked out of the pool because they had to start setting up for a wedding, way earlier than closing time. A lot of water leaks around the upper floors.

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Let’s start with the rooms. Dirty, unkept and ugly. The bed sheets were stained, the towels were stained, the room was dirty and it looks like the place hasn’t been remodeled since it was built. The food was terrible and the buffet was really small with little options. Reserving a table at the restaurants was very hard. We could only get a reservation one night and we had to go to the front desk to get it. The staff was okay, nothing special. Our bathroom sink was clogged and the safe was not working and the staff took about 45min to an hour to come to the room to fix it. The halls were always dirty, something was always spilled on the floor and they took forever to clean it. The staff was also very noisy, all the time. Do not waste your money at this hotel.

I suppose it depends what you are looking for ... we took our kids and this was a kid geared vacation, the kids were over joyed and had the best time. Entertainment , pools, water park and food are very kid friendly and for this reason it was good. '

This is for sure NOT a 5 star resort and if you are going with RIU , Dreams Expectations you will be disappointed.

Food was not good, we left the resort often to eat , the maid service was terrible.

However; staff was relatively friendly for the most part , booze was poured heavy, pools were great.

In Summary : Would we go back ... No.... was it a nice family vacation ... Yes, There are many other resorts within the same price range that I would consider nicer , but that is my opinion.

I thought it was a great hotel the food was suberb, anything that we needed to be addressed was address right away. The only issue was the adult only area people were bringing their kids when their was no kids allowed. we got access to the Crown Paradise Golden adult only. I didn't like it the roof top pool was gross, and. you had to line up for food. The club is so much nicer and 3 pools, very close to the marina and the mall. staff was awesome. I would recommend this to anyone.

A 3 star resort

The stay was ok. Having stayed at this resort in the past multiple times and also.getting married there this stay was nothing like it use to be. It started with check in being an hour and half behind we could not check in at 3 we finally got into our room at 430. The hotel is not kept up as it once was. There was garbage in hall ways and stairwells that were there the entire week of our stay. Our room the beds were made up every day but they never left clean towels but would take away the dirty. The bar service at pool side was rare . The server that would come around was not very knowledgeable and more often then not would get the orders incorrect. The restaurants if you can get reservations were delightful especially the italian restaurant, the Mediterranean restaurant was alright and rhe french we never went to and you cant bring children in there after 7pm. The buffet was literally the same thing day in and out. Tv viewing if you are looking for any english channels not a thing. The night time entertainment at the club was great and is good for families old or young.

If you take nothing else away from reading this, please understand that this resort caters to, and is mostly visited by, locals. The food, service, and language reflects this fact. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with this, but it's not quite what we're used to when travelling to Mexico for vacations, and left us disappointed overall.

Pros:
The a la carte restaurants were decent. You do have to book at precisely 9:01am to have a shot at getting in though.
The pool areas were decent.
Our second room was in fairly good shape, and looked out into the courtyard and kids pool area. We enjoyed spending time out on it.
There's a grocery store right down the street which we utilized to get food that our kids would actually eat

Cons:
The family rooms with bunks look out on to the road, loading area, and power station. You can't sit on the balcony. Our one of these was completely dilapidated. Missing outlet and light switch covers, lights out, holes in the floor tiles, the bathroom mirror was rusty, i could go on. Luckily we were able to switch to a room with two double beds after the first night.
The food selection and quality at the buffet was poor.
The kids pool left our kids (2,4) with semi-deep abrasions the first day. The water slides shoot them out into 8 inches of water with a rough bottom. They wouldn't use the slides the rest of the trip.
Very few staff spoke any English. We communicated quite a bit via Google Translate.

Second time staying at Crown Paradise, first time at the family side. The staff are very friendly and super helpful! The accommodations are average, but was all we needed for our family trip. We got to experience one of their restaurants (Italian) and it was great! Unfortunately it was very hard to get into the other restaurants that they had, especially for a family. There’s an online reservation system, but all the reservations are filled within the first minute of opening.

Overall, would recommend if you’re looking for a great beach/pool set up!

I recently stayed at Crown Paradise Club Resort, and it was a complete letdown. The pictures online were a complete misrepresentation of the actual property. The hotel was run down, with everything from the elevators to the rooms falling apart. The key cards stopped working multiple times, and the front desk staff, particularly Lupita at night, seemed more focused on flirting with her coworker than assisting guests.

The food was awful—bland and poorly prepared. Shrimp was overcooked and impossible to peel, and the chicken was so dry it was hard to swallow. The on-site restaurant reservation system was a nightmare, opening at 9:01 AM and having all reservations booked by 9:03 AM.

There was also a terrible sewage smell in parts of the hotel, and in other areas, the scent of cleaning chemicals was overwhelming. The entire resort felt neglected, with poor maintenance throughout. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had, and I have photos to back up my claims. I wouldn’t recommend Crown Paradise Club Resort to anyone.

The property was older. Has a great pool area for the kids. Wish that there were more planned activities. Drinks were good, food was good at some of the restaurants, the buffet food was not great tho. The rooms were old and outdated, housekeeping didn’t do the greatest job of cleaning or restocking towels. The beach was nice, the tiki bar was awesome. Overall it was a great hotel for the kids, probably wouldn’t stay there again though.

Gardens were beautiful, staff very nice. Main dining outdated and choices were okay. Japanese style restaurant was our favourite. The room was okay as our shower door was difficult to close and the patio door didn’t lock and the toilet didn’t always flush properly. Many families with children as I think it’s a good place for them. Nightly shows across the street at the theatre were great-lots of variety with very talented dancers.

Liked that the resort is small & able to get a beach chair with shade every morning. Pools were clean. Food was just ok at buffet and restaurants were all good, but hard to get a reservation. Very short window that opens at 9am & booked by 9:02, need a better system for sure! Rooms can use some upgrading. Lots of mildew in showers and musty smelling. We weren’t in the room much so was ok. Hated all the venders on the beach! You can’t relax which is what we go on vacation for. Even if you were reading or napping they would bother you! Should be able to utalize both facilities without having to pay extra to go to adults side wishing we would have done adults only cause then you can use both. Nice beach and close to the port. Shows were geared toward small children so we didn’t attend except for one night.

If there was a 0 star I would choice that. Rooms super dirty, furniture is so bad, bed is super dirty. Food is so bad. And the worst thing is customer service so bad. So I don’t recommend to anyone.

There for a week - found the food \"boring\" - as in, the menu was limited & alwasy the same. 1 snack bar open all day - served only burgers/hot dogs/nachos/fries & fruit every day - no variety at all. The buffet was also pretty much the same every day. There was another snack bar that was only open 6pm on (sign said formal dress, but it appears not). We had 2 x penthouses - loved the jetted tubs, but rooms were very dark (not much in the way of lights/lamps). Also, amenities between the penthouses differed. 1 had 4 chairs on the deck, the other none. Limited mugs/glasses in one, safe didn't work in one. Housekeeping service varied between the 2 rooms, one was barely touched, the other well-serviced. Room service seemed good, but dishes were still outside part way through the next day. Check-in/check-out was wonderfully quick & efficient. Staff were friendly & helpful.

Mala organizacion de los Restaurantes.

Hay 4 restaurantes los cuales solo uno puedes entrar siempre los otros 3 piden reservacion a partir de las 9;00am intentamos todos los dias hacer reservacion y desde las 9;00am ya decia que estava lleno, por la tarde verificabamos y siempre habia mesas disponibles pero como no teniamos reservacion no podiamos entrar. Muy mala experiencia en cuanto a los restaurantes.

This is a wonderful resort. The child’s area is exceptional and the Kids Club is so welcoming. Our little one loved it. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed this resort.

Not for moms** babies clean luggage was left open and cleaning lady’s rag was inside luggage. Babies clothes smelled like sewage they offered to wash them but who knows what was cleaned had to throw brand new clothes away. Chief concierge said he would get back to us but there was no follow of situation; not happy not be coming back and don’t recommend. Food was good and drinks, cleanliness not great out of 4 days only one they cleaned and this happened.

Do not stay here!!! This has been by all the worst hotel I’ve stepped foot into. I literally checked in because it looks decent but the moment I walked in the room, it was ridiculous. Hallways were very dark to get to the room, the lock on the door was so unsafe and big cracks, walls were dirty, restrooms moldy, showers dark and dirty, if I could attach pictures omg. I had to leave that property, i literally checked in and out within 10 mins and booked the Hilton riviera- beautiful !! . Also, staff was very rude ! No one was welcoming. The pictures on Expedia need to be removed.
