Had an ocean view room in the tower building which was excellent. Nice beach and good access for walks along. Staff was excellent. A special shout out for Victor and Danni. The food at this resort needs help. Especially the buffet at dinner time. Very repetitive. Breakfast was always good. Been at this resort 4 times. The good out weighs the bad.

First time at this resort, came with a friend for one week. The staff is amazing. Bartender Rodrigo up in the Sky Lounge went up and above with his service. Our room was clean and comfortable, but we did not get any hot water the entire week. The dinner buffet could have offered more choices, it was the same everyday.
I would not stay here again, but it was a good experience overall.

Wifi terrible with no apparent effort to expand it beyond the immediate lobby. Ordering off the menu as part of package discontinued half way through stay. Mgt cutbacks. No food at roof lounge contrary to pictures from website. Website does match reality of what is offered. Great effort from staff to please. Would not return

There was a persistent mildew odour in the room, the bathroom fixtures were well past their ‘best by’ date. The resort wifi was spotty and non-existent in the rooms. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and worked very hard to maintain the facility in a clean state. The food was good, and their special meals were very nice. They had entertainment offered most evenings. The resort activity director was a very outgoing person who was able to motivate people into joining the activities. The sky lounge was a lovely space to spend time around sunset, and the staff up there were very friendly and attentive. The resort was smaller, which was actually a bonus, as you didn’t feel lost in the crowds. It was located near to downtown, so it was easy to explore the area.

When we checked in we didn’t get the king bed room that we had booked. I had my confirmation with me & all they said is that I had to work it out with my travel agency. The female manager who I spoke to was terrible & rude & didn’t even attempt to rectify. We had a small window overlooking a back alley, no patio door, patio or balcony. There were no hooks to even hang our wet bathing suits. I couldn’t believe they wouldn’t even try to offer a different room. Then when we checked out the man at the desk asked how our stay was & when I told him, he said well it’s high season & that happens all the time… I would Never stay here again! And would tell everyone I know to avoid it too!

Things were “ok”. Hot tub was out of order for over a week, only one elevator working and then it stopped for 1/2 day during our stay. Things around the resort feel a bit tired. Many of the staff were awesome.

The pool was disgustingly dirty-we didn’t swim after the first day
Our room the toilet was leaking and smelled like mold. We switched to a different room. Still mildew smelling but not as strong.
Front end staff were grumpy and unwelcoming
All in all the hotel is run down. Looks like the plan is to tear it down and make it part of time share which they try and sign you onto right away.
We will not return to this hotel

Each room we had reserved had its own quirks. Hotel needs major upgrading. Affordable for what you get. Staff and service was amazing. Spa treatment was amazing. Pool bar closed at 9 which then left the skylounge where no children under 18 were permitted. We were in there one evening and saw 3 children under age of 10. Then we tried to take our child and we were kicked out. Different rules for different people. It was an all round amazing experience and great vacation!

Very outdated, unkempt areas, grounds aren’t kept up. A non smoking resort, yet cigarette butts everywhere. People smoking you mention it to staff they say you have to tell the front staff. Only 1 bar, 1 pool. Beach access is also not private it is public access. The public can also come buy drinks too. Which will get preferential treatment to the people staying there. I would look at other resorts if you can.

This is not a 5 star resort, but, all the staff treat you as a 5 star guest. The staff from the front desk when you first arrive, the doning crew, all the bar staff, pool and Sky Bar, cleaning, housekeeping, gardener. Hope I didn't miss anyone, as every single person went out of their way to make it an exceptional vacation. Thank you.

Staff at the hotel were mostly nice and helpful. Front desk staff were rude and didnt care at. First hotel room had water pooring out of shower,toilet ran constantly unless you manually fixed it every time and air conditioning was so cold you froze and any adjustment did nothing, so they agreed to give us a different roomwhen shower ran out so bad it went into the hallway we told them and front desk said they will report it but did nothing. Entertainment is all in Spanish so you never know whats going on.front desk staff spoke to a family behind us in line in spanish pulling them ahead of us in line. The worst thing was is when they wanted 1000 pecos to keep our bracelets for 3 hours until we leave for our flight. At 11am they cut you loose or want more money in 20 yrs of traveling to Mexico no hotel has done this.Food is very good drinks terrible. Some staff are excellent and worth mentioning Omar, Angela, Maria and the omelet lady.

For being a low budget resort it was not bad at all.

Food was good, waiters were excellent!

Pool was a bit crowded but good.

Rooms, this is where the hotel fell short. A/C was not working at its potential. No mini fridge to at least to keep your beverages cold. Rooms outdated for sure, needs TLC. I did manage to see a couple riches the first night.

Overall, I would stay at this hotel again if rooms at least had a mini fridge.

Although we enjoyed our stay , we only found out at the end of our stay that we had access to the other Pelícanos resorts restaurants and amenities. Which would have given us more food and entertainment options throughout the week. I had requested a ground level room because my mother has mobility issues but because we had booked on Expedia they refused to respond to my request and upon arrival they had put us in a small room in the 2nd floor , far from the elevator. Astrid the Guest services manager, had other rooms to offer us but unfortunately they were all back facing with small decks . The rooms were not as pictured online and I learned later that the good rooms are only for timeshare owners. We found the food was quite bland and definitely catered to mainly locals with very few staff speaking fluent English. We don’t typically complain and enjoyed our week regardless but for the price of the all inclusive I didn’t believe that we received good value and often found the staff annoyed that we didn’t speak Spanish. The waiters actually tended to ignore us and the beach drink service was in my opinion terrible and at times rude. With over 25 year experience in hospitality and resort management, I will not be returning to the hotel due to the service of the restaurant and bar staff.
The Lifeguard Johnathan as well as the server Lewis and the evening and daytime bellboys went above and beyond to make our stay great.
Astrid at the Front desk was excellent as well.

For the amount of money we paid we expected better. In the states, this would’ve been a $60 hotel!! we paid over $200 for the one night stay. And we’re grateful we weren’t there any longer!
Hardly anyone on staff spoke English, our toilet didn’t flush, sink fixtures, detached upon touching, the unit had a stove top, but not even a mini fridge or any utensils, plates, etc., to go along with it. Be all you can eat. Food buffet was only mediocre as well.

I stayed here only one night before I left, for a better hotel experience. I would rate this hotel a 3 star. One big issue was the food. Even though my stay included meals, I was not impressed. Food served buffet style, always in the same restaurant, looked like college dorm food (gloppy). A high percentage of children, often unmanaged.
Hotel is in need of severe renovation, in my opinion.

Overall rating is a 2. The front desk staff members, serves, and men that help take your bag's were very friendly and helpful. Other than that everyone else had horrible customer service skills. The food was not the greatest, I ate out every night I was there due to the food not being good, food running out, and the small portions given. The view is amazing! But everything else wasn’t the greatest. The bathroom continued to clogged weather we used the shower, sink, or toilet. The bar tenders did not have the greatest service, due to the heat the ice was melting that was used in drinks and made the drinks watery very fast. I would have to be honest I will not be staying here again.

The overall experience was fantastic. The food was wonderful, servers and waitresses were phenomenal. My only suggestion is having a bit of a pep talk with the night crew that works the front desk. They weren’t the most helpful and it almost appeared as though they didn’t want to be there. Aside from that, everything else was pretty awesome. This is one of the older properties which I love. It is on the beach with the historical cooling shape that allows the ocean breezes to drift though. There is a the grass roofed beach cabana for that authentic beach escape. The location is close to the airport and activities so it saves on taxi fees, as well as having easy access to the bus system. The room was clean, bed comfortable with daily maid service. Loved the towels here- nice and big! All of the staff were very kind and helpful. There is daily entertainment and they even had a pizza place. I really enjoyed the tile and marble with glass showers which were quite roomy. Not your glitzy, Vegas style place, just a genuine Puerto Vallarta taste of its amazing people and adventures.

I was told I would not be charged for fourth person when I checked in, and the manager promised to rectify situation. Never happened. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel this past week. We chose it because it was cheaper than most all inclusive hotels around the area. But let me tell you, when they say you get what you pay for, this place is at the top of that line.
We arrived and the personnel at the check in were dry, not very welcoming. Once we got to our room, we noticed how old and ill maintained the room was. We got a double bed room & it had a kitchen with just a sink a coffee machine and no fridge. The restrooms were small and the tub was very old and the paint on it was chipped. The water pressure was little to none & the lever was broken as well.
We then noticed that we had no wifi in the room & when we tried to search for a connection, nothing popped up. So we went down to the reception area to ask why the wifi wouldn’t connect, they said they had spotty wifi and it we wouldn’t be able to get it in the rooms only in the lobby area or pool area. That’s insane! How is it that they can’t get full WiFi in a hotel that charges over a grand to stay there! So we asked for a room closer to the lobby & still no wifi! The food was low quality, the drinks were okay. The ambience was not fun at all! They had little to no entertainment. Then one day we noticed one of the maintenance staff took a chocolate bar I had left out before we left! That right there had me so mad! Never had I experienced that!
If you’re looking to have a bad time this is your spot. But I would pay a little more next time.

Stayed here for my birthday with a couple of my friends and we loved it! Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful, room was clean and well air conditioned, pools, bars, and restaurants were great too. It wasn't the most upscale resort on the beach, but it was affordable, family friendly, had lots of activities and was perfect for us! This was my first time visiting Mexico so I was going in a little blind(and not sure if I was going to get scammed lol), so for anyone else who's not sure, I would definitely recommend Plaza Pelicanos, we loved it!!

My room had an unpleasant smell, and the bathroom fan was broken. If we were lucky, it was the last place to be cleaned. The tub had peeling paint and didn’t drain properly, so we always ended up showering with the tub overflowing. The snacks were repetitive, and the food wasn’t very kid-friendly.

Please don't choose this hotel. I visited Puerto Vallarta for a trip, but I had a bad experience at this hotel. The hotel ruined the last day of my trip. The room conditions were terrible and horrible. The hotel should ensure proper service before offering it to guests, this is not the customer’s responsibility. Also, CS employee was kind, but the receptionist was very rude.

It was ok to stay, and I cannot call it pleasant. Firstly, we were assigned the wrong room on arrival, a grade lower than booked. When brought to their attention, I was told a lot of contradictory information resulting in a sentence: \"We are fully booked, there is nothing we can do. Contact your reservation agent.\" No apologies, no compliments or rectification. Drinks were very limited so I had to choose between the bad and the worse. Sky Lounge was a waste of nice space: boring, limited drinks, and not-working jacuzzi. Food was quite basic, so we had half of our meals outside the hotel. Beach/pool lounge chairs all had towels on them from early morning with some being empty the whole day so you may have no any if you are not rude (I laid on one and no one came to claim the ones next to me for at least 6 hours). And the Karaoke night was a disgrace... Good points: the room was clean and of a good size with a comfy bed, a nice bathroom. A couple of shows were nice: with three singers and with the pre-columbian theme was amazing. Well, I was attracted by the price and got what I paid for. I'd rather pay more to stay elsewhere.

- Shows are pretty good - just an older audience that’s why it doesn’t seem as ‘hype’ (Mexican traditional singing & dance, fire show (so cool!), karaoke, singers)
- almost always food options (buffet, food truck, pizza, snack bar)
- I feel like there could’ve been better signage on the menu at the snack bar - seemed to be some confusion
- Towel service was great and easy
- Drinks are good and the pool bar is fun too
- very accessible to walk around town and c convenience store right down the street
- Gym is decent , few machines , some benches you can’t adjust. They maintain the cardio machines well but the free weights/machines can use an upgrade

- Only one ‘sit in’ restaurant
- Only 2 menu themes (Mexican/Italian)
- Buffet is good mostly average but still good - tended to be a lot of repetitive food

Excursions:
- we did the city tour
- Overall, still a good experience, but some of the stops felt like they were just trying to get us to buy things
- Tequila tasting was a highlight. Too long at the end there as well.
- They did mention that you can buy food at the tequila tasting place, but it was quite overpriced, and that was the only option
- Church was cool
- Jewelry/leather shops were boring - prefer more free time

The front end staff was not helpful. Our fmm papers went missing when we moved rooms due to a cockroach infestation. My gold necklace also went missing when left in the bathroom.

The staff was great and the food was very good, especially in the a la cart restaurant. The property is older and our room was outdated and in need of updating. The common areas were quite nice however there is a shortage of chairs and lounges in the pool and beach areas during busy times. The internet is only available in common areas and is very unreliable. The overall experience was good with the exception of the unreliable internet access. Located in an area that is walkable to many businesses and restaurants.

Resort was good. Did was good except the buffet was either good or really bad. The special restaurant was really really bad. Stay was good had to get a new room because it was really a dump. They upgraded us to a really nice room for free though. After talking to other people staying there it seems they just fill the bad rooms for until you complain then they upgrade you. No matter what you book. Don't bother with the concierge. They just want you to take a tour of the next door resort and book another vacation. Not a time share but it sure feels like it. There's a little market across the street full of massage places, pharmacies, tourist shopping and excursion activities. Go there instead of the resort. Way cheaper. The Beach is very nice and the ocean was a bit rough but the water was not too cold. I have it 3 stars but I would go back. I would just eat of the resort more. Uber is your friend in PV!

The food was excellent every day. Did not have a bad meal. The staff were incredibly friendly. The resort is older but we knew prior to booking and great value for cost. Was within walking distance of Malecon and many shops. We cannot wait to come back next year! Thia was the first time we booked 2wks in PV and would come back to this resort!

Fantastic staff. Evening bar tender is the best I’ve ever had in my life 10/10. Definitely recommend, beautiful place, good food. Only complaint is the wifi doesn’t reach some of the rooms.
