I wish I knew before booking about the condition of this hotel, it was dirty, and it’s basically falling apart. At random times the most disgusting smell would come from the toilet it was unbearable o had to leave the room. The wall pant was chipped, mold in the bathroom walls, and one time I came out my room that was on the 8th floor to find the halls flooded with water, the leak dripped all the way down to the main lobby floor. The gym was small, most machines didn’t work and very dirty. Also when booking no one said about a 20 story high building construction happened right next to our hotel, it was very loud all day long. And there was no complementary coffee, we had to buy each cup of coffee cup that was served for a jar. Yet I did notice that when Americans would ask for coffee they weren’t being charged. There was cleaning service everyday but they would only clean the bathroom and do the beds, no sheet changing and no sweeping which made it hard to walk barefooted.

We had a mountain view room on a higher floor which mean we couldn't hear any street traffic.

The property is in a fantastic location next to several malls and movie theaters if you feel like going off the resort. The beach is in excellent condition and the pools are well maintained.

Only thing that I found disappointing was the condition of the gym. Lots of the cardio equipment was in need of repair and there wasn't a lot of weights to chose from.

I recently stayed at Krystal Vallarta, and overall it was a mixed experience.

I want to start by recognizing Jose Coria, the front desk manager, who was extremely helpful, professional, and understanding throughout our stay. He truly made a difference and handled everything with care. Victor, the bellhop, was also incredibly helpful and insightful — always ready with a smile and great advice. The rest of the staff were hardworking, kind, and clearly doing their best every day. The service team is absolutely a strong point of this hotel.

Unfortunately, the food was subpar and noticeably low in quality. It’s clear the chef and kitchen staff are doing their best with the ingredients they are given, but the overall dining experience suffers because of it.

My main grievance is with management and corporate. This hotel has huge potential — the location and property are great — but it needs more investment. I would strongly suggest raising prices if necessary and using that revenue to improve food quality, upgrade amenities, and modernize certain areas of the hotel. Additionally, the internet was very poor and worked only intermittently, which was frustrating.

With better corporate support and upgrades, Krystal Vallarta could truly be an outstanding destination. The staff on-site deserve that investment.

First of all, the room was dirty. When we arrived, we told ourselves we could tolerate it for three nights. However, the safe didn’t work, and the closet smelled strongly like urine. We were also missing hand towels and face cloths, they did finally bring them. When we went to leave for dinner, we discovered the sliding door lock was broken. It took two days to repair the door, and since the safe didn’t worked, we had to carry our passports, cards, and valuables with us at all times. We didn’t even bother unpacking.

The food was very disappointing — I would rate it one star at best — and we practically had to beg for bottled water. While a few employees were exceptional, the management team could certainly benefit from additional training.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel, especially if you’re wearing an Expedia bracelet.

Hotel was fully booked & we spent the first night at a “villa” which was difficult to find due to poor lighting & signaling. The villa had no drinking water or towels were available. Glasses were dirty. Living area was dusty. The bed didn’t have sheets, only mattress & bed covers. We called reception and they only sent towels. Worst of all, we were not informed there were other guests in the other bedrooms of the villa.

After complaining to reception, we were moved to our actual room the following day not without first dealing with a lock bedroom door. They had to bust the door open because they didn’t have a set of keys.

In the hotel room, the next door guest had a loud conversation & then loud music on their balcony. Called reception and nothing was done. Party continued until well past midnight. It happened again the following night.

Restaurant food, available in buffet style, was underwhelming. The only positive thing was the Egg Station during breakfast which was included in our package. Lunch & dinners were $430 per person when you could get much better food for less in restaurants nearby.
The resort looked outdated & run down. They also had a lot of construction that made resting impossible. Drinks were also poorly served in fairy cheap plastic cups with bartenders that didn’t seem to know how to prepare any of the drinks of the menu and you would overhear them complain about how they didn’t have anything to prepare drinks with.

Avoid this hotel. Not worth it.

The ocean front room offered whale watching , perfect sunset viewing and watching the waves crash into the shore. The pools could use some repair because many tiles are missing, filter covers on the pool floor are missing and could cause someone to get hurt, and the tiles were so dirty that when we leaned against them my bathing suit top was blackened from the filth. Housekeeping wasn’t consistent and there were days where we didn’t get any housekeeping at all. The location of the hotel is in a great location because it is safe, clean and close to grocery stores, malls, restaurants, the marina, the airport and only a cheap uber to downtown. We did all inclusive for only 3 days out of the 10 days we stayed and did not enjoy the food. Breakfast was the same as lunch and dinner. We ate out at local restaurants instead.

Massive entry and drive they could easily have a luggage drop off as you have to check-in and get a parking pass #.
I’m 80 and had to drag my luggage through the parking lot. Not so fun.

The staff at this location was amazing! Very nice, helpful, and overall provided a good experience at this resort. I will say that the property itself is a bit dated, room was bit dusty, bathroom sink was clogged, and the AC was not keeping the room cool despite keeping curtains closed. One of the two elevators in one of the towers was inoperable for two days, leaving a constant long line of guests trying to get to and from rooms or leaving guests to walk up/down 16 floors.

The beach was great. The property is literally steps away from the water and is very walkable to and from different hotel properties. There were more than enough beach chairs and covers to be able to layout. The only downside were the many vendors soliciting items/activities but they were all really kind when you declined anything.

The food was just ok. There was a grilling event on Wednesday that I really enjoyed as it showcased really amazing flavors of the local food. Outside of that, I could have skipped most of the food offered on the property. Speaking of property, the location is really good. Close to restaurants and shopping. Everything is within walking distance and every easy to navigate.

Overall, this place is a good place if you are on a tight budget and want to have a relaxing vacation. Again, every staff member were amazing, very helpful and welcoming, just hoping they can renovate the property and up the food game.

I stayed here Sunday&Monday night once I landed and had a great experience. The breakfast was awesome tons of options, Thanked the Chef before checkout on Monday. Then booked my last night for Friday night because it’s close to the airport and Juan was awesome plus Barbra helped me Saturday afternoon before my flight back to Canada at 6:30pm. Very family friendly resort, location is great, staff helpful, friendly and fun. I’m so glad they spoke English making it easy to communicate and hardly had to use my translator! Definitely recommend for anyone, there’s lots of options for things to do close by. Very happy with my stay here because it’s my first time in Puerto Vallarta.

Room was dirty. Roaches inside room couldn’t have snacks/ food out. Staff was rude when we tried to ask them for accommodation. “Your room is paid for there’s nothing we can do for you” .. Elevator was broken all day so there was a long wait to go up to the room and down to the lobby. Terrible.

The walls in the rooms are paper thin and you can hear everything in the next rooms . The couple next to us sounding like they were making a porn movie and the front desk would not move us . We couldn’t stand to stay in our room with our children with that racket happening .
We asked prior to going there if we could buy an all inclusive pass by the day and they told us yes no problem but once we arrived and tried to do that they told us we could only get one for all the days remaining

The hotel is very outdated. The 1st room didn’t have a safe; I waited around 90 minutes for assistance and nobody came to install one. Operator was rude leaving me on hold without hearing me out even when I was polite. I got another room with safe not working and not fixed to wall; had to wait again; wasted 4 hours. Pool area is awful; beach furniture awful and not enough for amount of people. Alcohol beverage is awful, beer from machine watered down with water.

The staff was not very welcoming or courteous. They gave us a room with double beds when we reserved a room with a king size bed. When we asked to be moved to a room with a king size bed like we had reserved, in a very unapologetic way they said they didnt have one available, that what we got was all they had available and they could move us to a new room the next day. We were only there for 2 days. I didn't want to unpack one day in one room and move to a new room the next. Also the hotel is under construction and had one small pool for everyone. The pool was so full and no where to even sit by the pool.
The whole place needs to be renovated. Unpleasant stay for many reasons.we will not be going back.

We visited August of this yr (2025). The outside of the hotel looks old. The front desk staff speaks very little English & not that friendly imo. They also will bug you about attending a “presentation” to convince you to spend more money I’m guessing on a timeshare. The grounds are Old! They have these bungalows on The property that look like could be a cute secluded get away but they look old as well. Our room was in a separate building from the entry of the hotel .. you have to walk outside & down a bumpy path so if you have nice luggage keep it at home! This building was weird .. it was just really empty & not inviting like it was once a nice environment but now just forgotten. Our room reminded me of being back home at one of our beach getaways. Very underwhelming. We had a balcony view of building tops & the street. Fine bc we didn’t pay for an ocean view. Our sink had a leak that if you didn’t turn the handle just right it would leak from base of the faucet. Safe did not work but someone FINALLY came to fix it. The phone never worked & never was fixed. Their buffet food was subpar & expensive. They kept the desserts open so flies were all over them & there was a weird smell in the dinning area. Glad we didn’t pay for the food to be included bc one day it was closed the entire day for construction. The ocean view from the beach was beautiful but their pool is small & not conducive for the amount of people who stay there so it was crowded. Stay at their sister property!

If you book through Expedia you will get a different bracelet and the Staff may try to charge you for breakfast eve though it was included with your reservation. This was very annoying.

If it were not for a struggling wait staff, this place should be prepped for a teardown. One of the two hotel elevators broke down and remained that way for half of my one-week stay. During the day, the majority of the other one was loaded to more than double its maximum allowable capacity. There was no place for people to sit in the expansive lobby area despite having a bar to serve drinks. Noisy and crowded with construction work. The price for food and drinks was exorbitant.

We had what could have been a lovely evening completely soured by the behavior of the head waiter. Instead of doing his actual job, he decided it was appropriate to ask my partner to play chess with him and then told her she “needs to make friends” (with him) if she ever wants to come back and stay for free.

That is not charming, it’s inappropriate flirting and unprofessional. When you go to a restaurant, you expect attentive service, not some bizarre attempt at recruiting personal “friends” from the guests. This kind of behavior puts people in an uncomfortable position and crosses boundaries that should never be crossed in hospitality.

A head waiter should be creating a welcoming, respectful environment — not turning the dining room into his own playground for awkward advances. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution anyone, especially women, about the way staff conduct themselves here.

I stayed here for with my boyfriend for our summer vacation, and we were the ONLY Americans in the whole resort/hotel, It was all local people. Partying went on till 1AM, the rooms was dirty when arriving, the paint from the ceiling was falling apart in the shower, the toilet seat was broken, the bathroom vent was leaking water all over the place, and shower didn’t drain, nor bathroom sink. Just be aware black mold was everywhere, and the resort/hotel is DEFINITELY not what the pictures show online.

Unfortunately our experience at Krystal Vallarta was not a good one. We had previously stayed at this hotel in 2019 and had a great experience (booked 4 rooms), so decided to book again. Our family booked a total of 7 rooms this time around and right from the beginning, we started experiencing issues. We got locked out of 4 rooms, keys wouldn’t work, shower and sink in one room overflowed, air conditioner in one room wasn’t working, safe wouldn’t open in another room and we couldn’t access money. Hotel sold part of their property which included a huge part of their biggest pool and we weren’t made aware that construction would be going on everyday, starting early in the morning 8am. When we went to hang out at the pool, we were greeted with a family of 35 that took over entire pool area and was full on having a volleyball match with no consideration for any of us other guests. Balls were flying left and right, hitting and splashing others and the family never once apologized. There was no hotel staff at pools keeping order, so everyone was pretty much doing whatever they wanted. This same family of 35, was gathering in rooms (multiple floors), having parties very late into the night/early morning, making lots of noise. Definitely not the experience we were hoping to have and must say, won’t be staying here ever again .

I liked the customer service. I hated the downsizing of resort. The elimination of 1 pool , restaurant, bar and other amenities. Very poor communication with public. I felt decieved. Only 1 restaurant in service. The same menu all day. Pitiful. I won't go anymore. I believe this resort is going to be a at best 1 star huge motel. I wish it weren't true.

Make sure they provide the right information you picked two beds and they give you what they want add the people who is going because they up charge for every single tho dog as well as the parking
