Rooms are worn out. I read somewhere they’ll renovate soon. Staff is friendly but they look bored, very off character for a Mexican resort. My main concern was food. Brkfst Buffett was terrible and restaurants were meh. Pool is amazing and it is so close to airport that it pains me not to go back, but I wouldn’t.

Great facilities and staff but didn’t love how my credit card charges accrued days after leaving and after I thought I had settled final billing. Most drinks and food I paid directly on my card at the time of purchase and later charges didn’t always line up with what I spent that day.

There was a corporate event that made relaxing by the pool noisy, but it was only for one day. The poolside area could have benefitted from a bit more attention in terms of cleanliness.

We booked an ocean view room. We could see a bit of the ocean but our room was on the back side of the hotel next to another building. When their air conditioner came on for the day we could not even open the doors, much less sit on the deck because the of the loud noise. This lasted all day. Rooms are spacious and clean.
The pool staff and room staff were awesome. Very attentive and friendly.
The front desk were ok. I had previously emailed and told the hotel we were arriving on our actual anniversary and were celebrating with our children and grandchildren there. I received a lovely note to say congrats etc. My husband expected at the very least a card or fruit or something in our room. We were disappointed. When he asked he about that he was greeted with a shrug. Also our children got upgraded to a full ocean view, so we knew what we were missing.
Restaurants are fine, great staff. The kids loved Mikados.
We did enjoy the resort and had a wonderful time. It is so close to the airport and marina so no long taxi rides.
The pools were nice, warm, but there are not enough shower stations coming off the beach so be prepared for sand in the pools.
Overall a great vacation. We met a lot of people whom have been there many times and the staff remembered them and greeted them warmly. Nice to see.

The pool side service and space was the best part of the trip! The cabanas were lovely. Silvestre and Bibiana made sure we had reservations. Also, the pool service staff and bar staff were awesome. Raul was exceptional and graciously checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. If it wasn't for the hotel's other problems, we would have made this place a regular getaway.

we have been coming here for about ten years now , sometimes twice per year , we loved it here and we spent a lots of times by the pool , nice wide pool and well heated , good service and very nice staff . since the renovation pool area all that have been changed . lot smaller pool and very very cold water , they are not heating the pool water any more I was told and lots of people were complaining about same issue , we are very disappointed and not going back to
Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resorts any more .

The front pool bar staff were great! Loved the view from the pool to the ocean. Daily resort fee was miss leading. Pamphlet said we would get 2 bottles of water each day and then changed to 2 per stay. Taxes were also added to resort fee.

The grounds were beautiful and the restaurants and restaurant staff were excellent. The front staff needed a lot of training as they moved us to 4 different rooms when they needed ours for wedding events. They changed our rates each time and it went from $240 to $500 a day,

Love the overall hotel, hated the changing rooms and prices.

Booked through Expedia. At the time of booking a daily resort credit of $30 was an option to choose. Upon arriving , both the hotel and Expedia was unaware although it is clear as day on the website. Very disappointing and considering the hotel is outdated and not busy, I understand why they chose to act this way. I will Definitely not bet back.

It was a nightmare. Construction non-stop. We were in the Mexican side which was noisy and kids were running everywhere. We asked for a quiet room and it was even worse even though there was no one there.

The restaurants and shops were closed. Everything was very inconvenient and far away from the rooms.

The worst vacation experience ever. The should close the hotel like the Marriott did this summer.

We will never return there.

It was between seasons -- spring break and summer tourists -- so the property was under cleaning and reno ops, but didn't take away from overall wonderful services. The staff from getting out of our vehicle to leaving was superb. Everyone aimed to please with genuine hospitality and customer service. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. If you cannot find something from the lavish breakfast buffet, you are not hungry! The pool and beach were well-maintained. Although this property shows some age, it is a large convention site that caters to guests' needs. Close to the airport and near the marina with a few shops and restaurants, I will admit it is a little farther than preferred for downtown sites, restaurants and shopping. Uber is the way to go!

This has been, without a doubt, the worst resort experience of my life. My stay at the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa from May 14-20th was a parade of incompetence, disrespect, and outright theft. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Let's start with the \"Spa & Confusion\" debacle. On Saturday, May 18th, around 11 AM, my wife tried to book a spa appointment for Monday. Initially, only afternoon slots were available, so she booked for 3 PM. Shortly after, realizing it conflicted with other activities, she cancelled it at the spa. Later that day, around 2 PM, I went back to the spa to reschedule for Monday morning, and suddenly, 10 AM was available – conflicting with what we were initially told. Fine, we booked it.
Then, the true nightmare began. My wife received a call from the spa claiming we missed a Saturday appointment. This was baffling, as we never scheduled for Saturday! We were forced to waste our time trying to confirm there would be no cancellation charges and that our Monday appointment was correct. The front desk spa worker on the phone, instead of clarifying, became aggressive, snapped at my wife, blamed her, and then hung up on her mid-sentence.
The concierge then told us we might get a cancellation charge and that the original Monday 3 PM appointment was indeed cancelled. Fast forward to Monday morning, 10 AM, we arrive for our rescheduled couples massage. The person checking us in, Lupita, rudely stated there was an appointment for 3 PM – the one we were

Horrifying Experience at Marriott Puerto Vallarta – Theft, Disrespect, and Zero Accountability.

I had clearly taken precaution to hide my watch deep within my backpack with items covering the dust bag where the watch was in and Marriott staff open my backpack and stole my watch. Marriott took zero action and didn’t resolve and instead blamed the Marriott customer for the situation and pushed the Marriott customer aside and dismissive of the situation. Very bad experience with Marriott.

This property is dated and old. It’s a great location but it’s super dated and they need to upgrade the place and make it modern. The drinks our crappy and the bar staff you can tell they don’t care. They are short staffed so it’s takes a long time to get a drink or food at the pool area. The only thing I liked was the buffet breakfast.

The grounds are beautiful and truly make this hotel spacial including the beautiful bronze sculptures,

The rooms are in need of maintenance and updating. The beds are the wiser ever and yet the linens are very nice.

The front staff, especially Celeste are very pleasant but she needs a tremendous amount of training. She has moved us 4 times in two weeks, often being told we need to move on the same day. She does not understand the importance of saying what the total new rate will be for a room, she only includes the additional upgrade cost. She is so nice, and yet quite unaware of how frustrating she is to work with.

We planned on bringing 50 people here several times a year, but based on our horrible experience of starting in a panoramic view, to a junior suite, to an ambassador suite and now back to the original room, we will be looking at other hotels. We went from paying $250 for our first two weeks, then she quoted us $500 a night for the next two weeks even though my Expedia reservation showed half of that. If we didn’t like the facility, the staff, location and delicious food so much, I would have left by now. I am looking for a new place as I write this. Train your people to work in a way that Americans and Europeans can understand and provide much more training to your front staff. The rest of the staff are impeccable

Great Service, Great Food—But Please Don’t Turn This into a Playland

The service here is excellent, and the dining options are well-rounded. The Japanese restaurant, in particular, is outstanding. I've truly enjoyed my time here and appreciate the relaxing atmosphere the resort currently offers.

That said, I'm very disappointed to hear that the new owners plan to transition the resort to an all-inclusive model. Puerto Vallarta is a foodie’s paradise, and part of the magic of staying here is exploring the incredible local restaurants throughout town. Limiting guests to on-site dining would take away a huge part of the PV experience. I hope the owners understand that many of us don’t want to be locked into resort meals, no matter how good they are.

I also heard plans to add a lazy river, which feels more suited to a theme park than a sophisticated beachfront resort. A new adults-only pool sounds promising, but I’m confused why it’s being placed closer to the hotel rather than near the ocean—where adults typically want to relax and enjoy the view in peace.

This is a special place. I truly hope the new direction doesn't strip away what makes it feel like an escape for adults, not a resort for families with pool floaties.

Had a great stay. Staff was incredible and property very beautiful. Location could not be beat! Couple things to note though... No screens on the balcony door so we had to keep them closed at night due to mosquitos so couldn't hear the waves. Also it has been awhile since we stayed at a family friendly resort. Kids were everywhere but the kid friendly zone and there was alot. Lol. However would definitely come back someday with our grandkids. Perfect for families.

We asked for an ocean view upgrade and, while it was a little more costly per day, we were grateful for the wonderful views. An added plus was the beautiful pink flowers on our balcony.

The service staff was great. The facility is run down and in need of a major upgrade, repairs and maintenance. The room had a bad smell of unclean ductwork and the ventilation was not satisfactory. The room got very humid at night. The property itself was a let down as it was very dated and not well maintained. The food was subpar and the only saving grace was the enthusiastic serving staff - all of whom were great.

I enjoy Marriott properties and have never had an issue. At this one though they took issue with me reserving through Expedia, I tried talking to the help center and that only went worse. In the end it went from just a question to being told by the manager at the call center that people are welcome to not stay here, I may recommend that advice.
The property is nice, the rooms were good and the spa was relaxing. However it's close to the airport so that sound was constant, the fees add up, like the nightly resort fee. Factor in some money to take taxis as well to go anywhere.
